The takeaway /delivery service and standard is one million miles apart from sitting in. The telephone contact , when the order on a Monday evening is over 1 hour late (can't imagine what it's like on a Weekend) Don't expect anything like you ordered .

Has definitely went downhill. Food was all dried out & cold. Every second dish was poppadoms almost like they were trying to fill space. Nothing for kids i thought they would maybe have a couple of kids choices out but nothing so unless you’re child likes spicy food or korma dont go with kids. Very disappointed & wont be returning which is a shame as used to be nice.

Pre-ordered for delivery at 9pm (order placed at 5pm) however didn’t arrive until 10pm and when phoned for update told it was getting cooked. Don’t recommend ordering delivery unless your happy to wait 1-2 hours x

Another lovely meal however we felt a bit uncomfortable as 3 different members of staff offered the buffet after we asked for the main menu including while we were ordering. We have ordered from the main menu before and had the buffet on previous visits including christmas days but this is the 1st time we have felt pressured to have the buffet. We repeated for the 3rd time we wanted to order from the menu and enjoyed the food and the service was good but dont think we will return due to the pressure we felt to have the buffet.

This is the third time I’ve ordered from here and as usual the food was delicious. The delivery was really fast for a Saturday night and arrived just after 30 minutes of ordering, and the food was piping hot and fresh. I’ll definitely be ordering from here going forward, especially the garlic nann which was amazing.

My husband and I along with 3 friends visited the Shimla Palace yesterday evening. It was a great experience. It doesn’t look much from outside but it’s lovely inside. Tastefully decorated, clean and spacious with a nice ambiance. The food was amazing and so much to choose from. The waiters were attentive and friendly too. We all had a lovely evening and look forward to the next time.

Some of the order was missing and was told 30mins before they would be able to deliver the missing items but the other food would have been cold so had to go and pick it up not happy with the service on the phone

Arrived for the buffet during the week and it was really nice. All food was nice and hot including the starters. Rice and garlic nan nice and hot and tasted good. The south Indian garlic chilli chicken was lovely. Staff were pleasant enough and I will be going back again for the buffet. Really enjoyed thank you.

A bit late in arriving, but it was worth waiting for, food was great. Will order again.

Phoned the restaurant twice to be told it was on its way,asked driver and was told he had came straight from the restaurant.

have been waiting 1 hour and 40 minutes so far. Can't comment on the food as I am still waiting. Called the restaurant, its not even left yet!

Everything was really nice apart from the lamb in my curry, it was so chewy and overdone you could have used it as door stoppers!

I usually struggle with Indian takeaway food as a lot of what we’ve ordered from other places tends to be far too oily and far too much. Resulting in us sticking to either Chinese food or a pizza. This was really fresh and tasty and much more about quality than quantity. We will be ordering again!😊

Very busy in the restaurant so waited 15 minutes more that time given. Got food home to realise the chips was missing as was one of the nan bread. Very disappointed.

An hour late, then missing a rice so no rice for our curry and I paid extra for the chicken pakora but got mixed. I submitted a refund but it never let me choose just those items but I’d like a refund for those two items not the full special as I did get those. Foods good as per but the wait was a pain in the neck and then to have missing food = annoying. Kids moaning for ages they were hungry. Delivery driver was actually apologetic tho which was a nice wee change

The foods fine, but the delivery was over two hours late and when I requested a refund they declined it. When I requested it again I was told I would get it. just to have the food turn up at 10 minutes later. So no refund 🙃 we had already eaten somewhere else. I don’t understand why you would keep accepting orders when the delay is so long. At least update the delivery time. Will not be ordering again. Do not order from here if your in any kind of rush to get fed.

Ordered a takeaway online for collection, arrived home to find the order wrong, one meal was incorrect. 10 attempts to get through on the phone, eventually got through and advised by a young lady she would send the placement meal out, waiting over an hour called back to be told will be delivered, 3hrs later still nothing obviously not interested they had there money, very disappointed have gave up, a child that had poppadoms and nann bread for dinner, a complete waste of money and a horrible atmosphere, will certainly be a while before considering going back for takeaway or meal at the restaurant.

Ordered food at 1820 told estimated time 1920-1940 then told me it was delayed I phone restaurant at 1959 told me it had left and it should be 10 mins but turned up at 2036 so basically 2hrs 16 mins absolutely disgusting and only a sorry for the delay won’t be back very disappointed with there customer service and delivery service

Waited 2 hours on a delivery. Phoned and was told it had left which was false. Very poor service. Then told they had forgot and they would make it now. Cancelled order and requested refund. Shimla used to be really quick at delivery. Shocking service.

Food was disgusting. Pakora was soggy and the puri was like a dogs dinner. Really disappointed. Lucky enough I got my money back and all in one in lochgelly stepped up and sent over a great meal

We really enjoyed the buffet dinner. We went to Shimla Palace for a late Father's Day get together when every one could make it. Food was excellent. Staff were very polite, friendly and helpful, but never intrusive. Two of our group have dietary restrictions and allergies, so were a bit concerned about how we would manage at a buffet - we need not have worried, the staff were very helpful and even cooked two different curries specially to suit their requirements. It was all excellent value too! We were very impressed and will eat there again often.

Delivery, smack on time. Really nice chap & his grandson. Thank you guys. As a 53 year old I am well travelled, however my Chook Madras tonight...was the best I have ever tasted! The chook was succulent, the sauce was an amazing consistency and the whole dish was madras hot. But every single spice could be tasted. That dish tonight, was a work of art and I thank you for it. Cheers.

The meal was good but the chicken could have been a bit smaller bits , chunks of chicken a bit of putting.

We have been coming here for past 12 years. Food and services is really good. Staff are really friendly and always ready to help out. Highly recommended for Indian buffet Dinner.

Ordered at 17.25 , called restaurant at 19.30 to ask where meal was. Took money fr om bank but didn't pass order to kitchen I was told would deliver asap . Still waiting at 20.05 shocking service never will I order from them again.

Everything was great until we started eating our food. We usually have a great meal from them but last night was a let down. My husbands meal was a lamb dish which had separated and the plate was full of water and didn’t taste or look very appetising which was a shame. Obviously maybe a one off but it has put us off ordering for a little while. Sorry Shimla as I say it is normally great the service, time delivered etc x

Terrible customer service gave me someone else’s order and I had to drive all the way back to the restaurant wasting fuel and not even an apology for wasting my time.

Enjoyed the meal, thankfully the tubs for curry have been changed to plastic as the tin ones always spilled however the lid wasn’t on the curry right so the bag was swimming in Shakuta. Other than that it was great and also arrived early

All good except lamb, a bit tough.

Visited 16th December for our annual meet up with some friends. The restaurant had a steady flow of customers however it wasn’t as busy as we have experienced in the past. The food was good however we were asked several times as the evening went on if we wanted more food and felt quite rushed on this visit. We were by no means overstaying our welcome and left before their closing time of 11pm.

Amazing fresh food, It's easy to see why this place has done so well. Very very nice, the restaurant was very busy when I come to collect my food which is a good sign. Great work folks, keep it up

Usually get this most weekends but been a let down lately,curries are alot watery now than they used to be.the last 3 weeks have been terrible,they've had there chance

Got told time to expect delivery and it turned up more than 45 minutes late. That was after phoning the restaurant twice. It’s just a pity their food is so good or we wouldn’t go back after the slipshod service we received tonight

Meal was good but the delivery driver is quite rude . Been a few times now he has had Order in hands so when I go to take it he backs off and wants payment and when I give him money he asks if I want change which I think is rude. One day I had 90p change to get so I told him to keep it and he said is that it and made a face and walked off. Not a likeable man and very rude

Nothing was actually hot when it arrived but it wasn’t cold, just needed a few minutes in the microwave. The nan bread was absolutely amazing

Ordered a delivery from this restaurant tonight and my garlic naan was forgotten, not a big deal I just phoned up and asked them to send it out. I spoke to a lady on the phone who was very nice and said she would send one as soon as possible. Then I received a phone call from a man’s mobile saying he was phoning from shimla because I did receive a naan as he packed it himself. I informed him that I definitely did not receive anything and he continued to be rude and argue with me. He insinuated that I was a liar and had it there, as if I would go to all this trouble for a £3.50 naan bread?Eventually he said he would send one out but by this point I told them not to bother and to pick up untouched delivery as I wanted my money back. I am just honestly baffled. I have ordered numerous deliveries from Shimla for years with no issues but I won’t be ordering ever again after this experience.

Shimla is a hit or a miss, depends what chef is on, tonight it was a miss.

Choose to go for the buffet big mistake most of the food was dried out when I asked to have some fresh stuff it feel on deaf ears. Asked for water and had to ask again poor service. Will not be going back in a hurry ☹️

Have had food delivered from the Shimla Palace several times. It has never been late and their food is delicious every time.

I had booked this venue to hold the bash for my 75th birthday, and I have to say, that for quality of food, and value for money, it was totally EXCELLENT! There was approx 20 of my family with me, and after canvassing their opinions, EVERY one of them had thoroughly enjoyed the food and the service! That was me at 75 down to my youngest grandson at 6 years old! BRILLIANT!!!!!

A little expensive but very good quality meals.

The food was nice and was delivered on time. Although the food had leaked everywhere and the packaging was damaged. Not a lot of care was taken.

Order went through OK. Unfortunately wrong item delivered for one person. Contacted restaurant, they said they would send out correct item. It came 45 minutes later. First protein had finished they meal by then.

Absolutely joke tonight. Originally 6.50pm delivery then 7.15pm it's now 10 to 8 and all the restaurant can say is its on its way. Where from India? I live 10mins up the road!! Now on my way to pick it up. As the restaurant admitted they cant deliver untill 8.30

Delivered on time but all of order was barely Luke warm, phoned to complain about rock hard cold chips and told replacement would be sent 40+ minutes later and still nothing
