Shillingford Bridge Hotel in South Oxfordshire

The food and staff are excellent,

Lovely surroundings but i had a very poor nights sleep as i could hear scurrying in the loft, straight above my room. Shame as otherwise it had a lot going for it, cute location, nice sized room

I have visited this perfectly situated hotel 3 times in the last month. I have never stayed overnight. My experiences of their hospitality (breakfasts post-swim at a local lake, and an evening bar meal+game of pool) have all been truly wonderful. The food is well cooked, flavourful and served by friendly staff. I will be a regular!

This hotel was perfect for what we needed. We loved that you look out to the river. The staff were friendly and it was great that you get breakfast included. It didn't specify a vegetarian cooked breakfast on the menu. However, they did provide vegetarian sausages when asked. We were on the first floor. The stairs were quite steep, fine for us but good to know if you struggle with stairs. The refurbished room we had had a good finish.

Travelled here with my daughter & 2 little dogs..to say this place is dog friendly is so true, my dogs weren't just tolerated they were positively welcomed. The hotel staff were so lovely. Hotel was busy with a wedding but we were made to feel very looked after. Our room was well appointed and scrupulously clean. The common areas whilst clean were a tad tired but this really didn't detract from our stay..at the price this place is golden. Lovely location too.

The chef here is decent and I hope the place embraces his talent to drive more people in for some nice food. The team here are very friendly and down to earth and do a nice job. Quite professional in a more laid back way. Had the steak rare with a side salad and garlic butter and chimmichurri and was very impressed. And the roast was nice too. Rooms are spacious and no noise at night. Lovely Outlook onto the river.... riverside setting... its not uber posh but has a good vibe. Id recommend looking past the slightly dated interior and have a wonderful time here. Great walks on offer nearby.

A club event with 20 people most stayed 3 nights. Lovely setting great food and nice rooms. Service and food excellent. Every one thought so, will come again and look forward to seeing the ongoing improvements. Thank you team. Paul Killick Seamaster club

Lovely location by the river a bit shabby but good value

We had our wedding reception at Shillingford Bridge Hotel in September, the entire process from planning to the day was amazing! Bettina was on hand throughout to answer all our questions and add in brilliant suggestions. On the day Bettina and the team made sure it ran so smoothly, including Bettina making sure our cake stand looked beautiful we gave her boxes of brownies and fruit and she put it together exactly how we imagined! The wedding breakfast 3 course meal was incredible some of the best food we have ever had! The entire day was better than we ever expected and I couldn’t recommend Shillingford bridge more if you are looking to get married here.

Very attentive team. Magical place with the possibility of sitting on the banks of the Thames to eat.

Gorgeous location. Went there on a sunny evening for the lovely views. Service was very slow and forgetful.

Hotel is tired, but staff are super helpful and friendly. Very clean. Food was seriously good. I had a single room with a wonderful view of the river. Do try and get a river view, my friends had the carpark view.

The hotel is in an idilic spot near the Thames. Car parking is available. I just went for a coffee so cannot report on any more.

Staff were very friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious and my included 3 course meal was very generous! The bathroom had a funky light on the mirror and the shower was great 😃

Set by the beautiful thames river, only a few windows you can see the river. The other area of the pub overlooks mainly the road. You need to register your car registration on arrival otherwise you will be fined. Decaf coffee is in sachet form. Reasonably priced drinks. Disabled access which is helpful. Only visited this place for a drink.
