Sherston Tearooms in Wiltshire

Always drive past and the cafe looks lovely so popped in. We ordered a full English breakfast each with coffee, the man behind the counter did not come across welcoming or friendly. They seemed to be short staffed, but the member of staff said it’s always like it. Our breakfasts arrived and were put down on the table without the waiter saying a word and briskly walked off, we had to go and ask for salt and ketchup. The menu stated homemade baked beans, which sounded great but when they arrived they were slightly spicy. I think it would state that on the menu. Dry toast with no butter, we like ‘farmshop’ sausages but we both thought these tasted almost powdery. Scrambled egg was tasteless. None of the staff came to check how our food was, we ate half of our food and left. We eat breakfast out a lot and were very disappointed.

Staff need to listen to customers requests. Asked for Mulled Cider, was brought a bottle of cold cider!! Staff were not forthcoming in changing it and my daughter was embarrassed to ask. She did say I asked for Mulled Cider, staff should have said immediately ‘I’m sorry I’ll get that changed’. Americano coffee was only warm, drank straight down. Cakes were passable. Wouldn’t go there again.

Little gem of a cafe! Great breakfast and coffee with wonderful service. Delighted to have found this place - well worth a visit

A beautiful ancient building carefully renovated in the centra of Sherston high street, with inside and garden seating, home made food and wonderful cakes, good coffee and lovely staff. They also have rooms and we are planning to stay again soon.

I have been to the Angel quite a few times recently and have always been pleased with the food and service. Great find, keep up the great work.

Our GP is in Sherston and my wife had an early morning routine appointment there, so we decided to go to the Angel afterwards. Simple breakfast with coffee for two. Won't bore people with what we ate (look at their menu), but all I will say is it looked and tasted as though it had come out of a kitchen, rather than out of a factory. The place is nice, the staff good and the food delicious and very well priced. Try it-you will not be disappointed.

Finding accommodation in this particular village isn’t easy, getting availability at the angel was a god send. The place is brand new and is of a high standard, the coffee shop is fantastic along with the staff in it, very helpful and nothing was ever too much for them. Compliments to the kitchen staff the food was quality for the prices paid, will certainly return upon our return, 5* all around.

We visited here as we had heard about the place and thought we’d try it for my birthday lunch. We sat in the courtyard garden which was so sheltered and quiet. The cafe wasn’t busy either which was good! Our sandwiches were so fresh and beautifully presented, and the ginger cake was very tasty. Good coffee too. The staff were polite and the service was quick. We will definitely return

All brand spanking new. Very inviting menu. Especially good coffee. Relaxing courtyard. This is a real gem in the Cotswolds.

We stayed for one night after being let down by another hotel and so glad we did.The welcome we received when we entered couldn't have been better and that's what made us decide to book a stay here.The room we chose was upstairs so quiet, so clean, light and comfortable and a lovely choice of breakfast brought to the table included in the cost was a bonus. We noted there are also ground floor rooms available.Sherston is a charming village with a well stocked local store, pubs and beautiful countryside walks which we did starting at The Angel as they were able to provided us with a choice of walks in the area which was so helpful.

Delicious evening meal. Food was cooked perfectly and at a really reasonable price. We will be returning for another meal soon.

the last time we had an evening meal in here the place had been cheapened from superb evening meals to burgers & fish n chips etc, i got the feeling the irish guy running the place had big ideas but really had no clue at all !! we gave it a go the other evening to find he was gone & the evening menu back to how it was before, all 3 courses werereally good , mains of blade of beef with fresh veg really nice !! good service, & i hope this stays like this now & reccommend you try ,. proper food not junk & reasonably priced !!!!

I have no idea how this place has such good reviews. We walked in on a Sunday afternoon for some cake and a drink; presentation was ok. We were giving a blank stare upon entering so asked a simple question "Do you have a table for two?" - we were shepherded through to the restaurant in the back and was presented with the Sunday lunch menu, so had to awkwardly backtrack to the entrance. We proceeded to try again, attempting to forgive the misunderstanding (we weren't 100% clear after all).We encountered a waitress, who turns out was keen to avoid all human interaction during her shift. We had to ask (again) for a table, to which she replied with a mutter and pointed at a table. No menus were given so we just sat wondering why we ever came in. Eventually, we decided to go up and order (regret incoming).The food was okay - the cake (Victoria Sponge) was dry; we ordered a tea and two diet coke's. We were given one glass for the cokes, because apparently people often order two of the same drink at one time (?). It feels like a lot of the shortcomings in service could be addressed with initiative or asking a question to clarify things.In addition, we also had the displeasure of having the owner constantly faffing around the tables and muttering to himself. If you've ever watched an episode of Gordon Ramsey where the hotel/restaurant owner is way too involved in service; you'll get a sense of familiarity.Overall, the food was bland, not cheap and the service left a lot to be desired - we left swiftly, baffled by this weird, but far from wonderful, place.

We had warm welcome on arrival. My wife is both Gluten and lactose intolerant.No problem at all. Chef did fantastic job and even created a desert for my wife which she thoroughly enjoyed.We both had steak with cooke veg. Brilliant and cooked to perfection.Given 5 stars for friendly approach, helpfullness and quality of food.We will be back. Coffee was great too.Such great attention to food.

We have been a few times for tea and cake and have not been disappointed. They also serve meals but we haven't had one yet.

We called in yesterday and the place was empty which made us nervous: 'why?' on a Saturday night. The menu was really lovely with good choices and reasonably priced. My husband's stilton burger was homemade and thick..with lovely crunchy chips. My prawn linguine was just wonderful...really creamy sauce and plenty of juicy prawns..cooked to perfection! Come on locals/travellers...try this place!!! A real treat. thank you!

We popped in here for a drink on a Thursday at 7.30pm and was told that the bar closed at 8pm - unbelievable !!!

A very relaxed lunch with superb food. The Roast Pork, and the Roast Beef were excellent. Will certainly go back.

Se celebró una función familiar aquí y alquilar todo el pub. El personal era fantástico, no podía hacer lo suficiente para ayudar y ayudarnos. La comida estaba magníficamente preparado y muy bien presentada. También nos alojamos en las habitaciones y el alojamiento era excelente. Así que si quiere mantener una función, sólo comer aquí o simplemente quedarse en el ser y se lo recomiendo encarecidamente.

Segunda visita para mi familia y para mí, primero mi esposa me dijo que valía la pena probar y vaya ella no estaba equivocado.

Pasamos 3 noches aquí, así que podría utilizar como base para excursiones de un día alrededor de Cotswolds.

El Angel consigue el equilibrio justo entre ser un pub para cenar pero sin país ser quisquilloso.

Visitamos este maravilloso establecimiento 3 veces en diciembre de 2016 y se lo recomendaría a cualquiera que busque un lugar amable, cortés para la comida o el té de la tarde. El ángel es sólo parte de un hermoso pueblo pequeño con muy interesante historia. Estábamos a sólo un par de kilómetros de distancia y me encantó y la comida era de buena calidad, así

Han estado aquí varias veces para reunirse con amigos y familia para un almuerzo de domingo, y como estoy I. El hotel y restauracion me puedo quejar. Un saludo cordial y cálida cuando llegue y el personal es muy atento y cariñoso. La comida también es adorable y buenas porciones a un buen precio. Se utiliza más a menudo en el futuro.

Pedimos asado los domingos para dos. Esperamos una hora para que llegara. Yorkshire pudding nunca apareció. No todas las bebidas disponibles en el menú. Todos los postres estaban disponibles. Pobre camarera estaba haciendo su mejor por su propia cuenta. Vimos varios clientes. disgustado Precioso entorno y comida de alta calidad. Pero no se puede invitar a la gente a entrar en su restaurante de buena fe, sólo para mantenerlos esperando una hora para una fija el domingo y luego anunciar los los postres son.

Staying at a nearby farm discovered this wonderful spot for tea and coffee on our morning walk. Great staff great service and a very switched on owner. They were fully booked for Sunday lunch. Not surprising at £9.95 locally sourced produce and beef. Highly recommend.

Have been here twice - once with daughter and granddaughters and once with daughter-in-law and grandson and granddaughter. We all loved it! the staff were friendly, the decor is gorgeous and the tea and cakes delicious. We will be back again!

Fuimos allí recientemente y es un sitio que, si quieres sentarte en un encantador ambiente y disfrutar de una buena comida de calidad puede proporcionar no tienes niños. No había nada para ellos para comer y no son permitidos en la habitación separada de la de al lado. Encantador para una escapada junto con adultos o para sentarse y leer tranquilamente un libro.

I visited the cafe over the village boules weekend and was so impressed. The food was lovely and very reasonable and the staff were very friendly. I would definitely recommend it - especially the lemon drizzle cake which was to die for!

Habíamos leído sobre un nuevo salón de té en el precioso pueblo de Wiltshire de Sherston así que decidimos probarlo. Era demasiado temprano para mí quieres comer pero mi marido siempre está listo para comida, porque él tenía un rollo de salchichas con ensalada.
