These are the best fish and chips in South Wales. I bought two fish yesterday evening and they were absolutely delicious, fish succulent and batter crisp. Fast service always.

Nice food here I always have fish n chips and a carton of curry good sized portions parking can be a problem at least if you are disabled but if you can walk a little you can normally find a spot I think school out time is not good they have a great choice of food there well worth a visit for sure

Best fish and chip shop we have found since moving to newport. It’s a 10 minute drive for us but worth every minute. Food is always fresh and hot. Chips are cooked in excellent, my wife says the fish is excellent. The sweet / fruity curry is a must. Staff are amazing as well as friendly and organised.

Clean, friendly and very efficient. Even the customers in the queue were happy to strike up a conversation. Haven't been here in a very long time - but will be back! Proof the people from South Wales are very friendly. PS - the fish and chips were awesome❤

Skin on cod and tight on chips , no seasoning in anything either , hardly see what the big fuss is about as it’s poor to moderate value for money at best

How people still use this place I will never know. Large chips are a decent size if you've got the stomach of a field mouse...as for the "large fish" I've seen bigger goldfish at caerleon fair. No taste...dead. no way does the portion size justify the price 😂

Ordered some fish bites with chips and chicken nuggets for myself and kids to share. Food was freshly cooked and very nice. Absolutely recommend, the Irish gravy was amazing.

Tiny amount of chips, batter on sausage is so hard I couldn't even cut it!!!. Won't be returning.

I was recommended to go here and try the fish. Wow I'm so glad I did. When I ordered it I was told it was cooked fresh but trust me it was Well worth the wait. Chips were outstanding too. Would have been nice to see some benches to sit on so we ate in the car which was parked just outside.

One of the best "chippies" on the area. Always my 1st choice. Still the best.

Portion size was very small which was a suprise. It only filled up half the box's. Bit of a shock. This said the food was really nice.

I love chip shop food, Sheppard is also a nice looking fish shop, with great food, staff are really friendly too. Not alot to say here as this fish shop has lasted years, so everyone knows about this place. big well done for that aswell.

Small portion chips£1.95, good value, using new potatoes, fried lightly in good oil. The service was a bit slow, with only one young girl serving.

The best fish n chips I've had in Newport since I've moved here. BY FAR!!👌 Had to travel back from there by mountain bike. Took 15 minutes to get back home. When unpacking the food. I was pleasantly surprised, not only was it still "piping hot" but the fish was as crispy as it was when leaving the fryer 😋

Love this fish shop, always a lovely friendly welcome and great chips, if I had one complaint it would be that they leave the skin on the fish, not a favourite of mine but easy to remove if you're picky like me.

It's ok. Not the best place around for fish and chips. A far bit too greasy for my like on the cod. Fish cakes aren't nice. That ones I couldn't eat but the scampi was really good compared with the rest of our meal. Overall I wouldn't go there on porpoise but for convenience of location its ok
