Great themed Cafe (Especially for German Shepard Dogs in case you hadn't noticed). Clean and tidy place with normal priced for most items, I had a good value Bacon sandwich, fresh cooked. Wishing I'd had the English big breakfast though! Nice people serving and lovely atmosphere with a few customers in when we arrived all very happy as they left. No nonsense place for food and service. Thank you!

Absolutely amazing visit to the Shepherds Hut. Simon and Jane were so welcoming and friendly - we were served quickly and so helpful. The breakfast and lunch menu were really good and full of options. We all chose the all day breakfast and it was SOOOO tasty. It arrived quickly too. We can’t wait to come back again soon.

Good service & nice ambience but we wont be going back as we were charged £6 each for a toasted tea cake which we thought was an exorbitant price to charge … 2 coffees & 2 teacakes … £18… other cafes charge about £2.50 … very dissspointed 🤨… no prices on show

Where do I start. Me and my friends went for a full English. I tucked into the beans and they were cold along with the mushrooms. I entered the cafe excited for a breakfast and left the place depressed. All of my friends had the same experience and we all now feel ill. The bloke told me I was scamming him when I said I wasn’t going to pay full price for something cold that I hardly touched.

What a lovely surprise to walk into. It's the most dog friendly place we've ever been! A proper hearty english breakfast and a warm welcome. Especially if you have a german shepherd with you! We are definitely going back.

Had a lovely generous pot of tea. Also the top dog English breakfast. Great food and very generous portions. Reasonably priced and very friendly owners. Great for dogs . As well as gravy bones the owner gave our dog a sausage, which she loved.

Lovely breakfast (proper black country brekkie), fairly priced (given inflation I don't think it's over priced at all), very clean, quality ingredients and friendly staff, fast service. Set us up for a trip back home. Thank you!

The cafe was nice and clean and the staff were friendly, but the food was like left overs warmed up.

Called today for coffee and toasted tea cake , very nice but so over priced , never before have I paid £7.20 for one toasted tea cake and jam ! Total bill £20.85 for 2 drinks and 2 toasted tea cakes. There aern’t any prices on the menu board so wondering if locals and tourists pay a different price for food or they make up the prices as they go along?

Ordered breakfast baps , eggs were greasy and the sausage was precooked so were just chewy , the only thing that was fresh was the air!

Called in with family for a quick bite before our long journey home. Had the best sandwiches we have had for a long time. Perfectly cooked and generously filled! The owners were very welcoming and friendly and we enjoyed chatting to them about their beautiful dogs, turned out they were originally from the same town that we live- small world! The cafe is clean and cosy and adorned with beautiful pictures of German Shepherds (as shepherd lovers ourselves this was a huge bonus) the small patio has a lovely view down to the sea and was a lovely spot to eat our breakfasts. Sad that we were on our way home so wouldn't get the chance to try some more of the delicious food, but will be going straight there next time we visit Woolacombe!

We come to Woolacombe every year and as we camp, we use Shepherds hut cafe to set us up for the day ahead. The top dog breakfast will certainly see you past lunch. They can get busy though, so I would definitely suggest booking a table

DO NOT TRY THIS CAFE We visited this cafe as reviews was good, however it was the worst most expensive breakfast I’ve ever had, and made us all ill. The man could not cope with us all 6 adults 3 children, he could only serve 1 table at a time, when the food came out it was a pool of grease the bacon and sausage had been cooked several times and was rock hard even the dogs wouldn’t eat it and the sausages had a sour taste as if off, the tomatoes was chopped tomatoes not plum, the beans were dry and tasted off the mushrooms were in a pool of oil along with the eggs which again were rock hard or on some of our plates was snotty, the only nice thing was the photos on the wall of the dogs. To be honest if you cannot cope you shouldn’t be open for business the meal cost us over a £100 for a plate of cooking oil and sour gone off food. NOT HAPPY AND WOULD ADVISE ANYONE NOT TO VISIT

Lovely place. We felt very welcome as we bowled through the door wet, windswept and with our dog in a buggy (recovering from back surgery). We certainly made an entrance! But the hospitality and welcome was great. We had a top dog breakfast, vegetarian breakfast...

What a gem of a find. Lovely quirky little pub. My wife is a coeliac, and most of the main courses on the menu were gluten free. Delicious food, very friendly staff. We had the added bonus that the local folk band were practicing, so great food, nice chilled music & lovely surroundings. Definitely a 10/10.

Bad first (not that bad ..😆) A bit old and dated, dispite the newish tile panelling Batter was nice but a little oily on the fish (soaked into the batter) The good.. HUGE battered fish - (suggest you just get the small one) cooked perfectly Sirloin steak was tender and cooked perfectly (ordered medium) I was pleasantly surprised on the quality, as it's a basic takeaway with a restaurant attached and it was under £20, so no top steak restaurant - but kudos to the chef, best £20 steak I've had, and better than some classier $$$$ places I've been, For that £20 I also got onion rings (perfect), salad - quality greens, few cut up bits of capsicum a couple of mushrooms, tomato, fried tomato too and plenty of chips cooked perfectly and very nice. (but best chips in UK I've had is at Lochgilphead - Scotland) Constructive criticism only - I was VERY happy given the price, Way better than a lot of places I've been to so far in the UK, and would definitely eat the same dishes again. Staff were friendly... This is at the end of the tourist season too. (Oct'24)

Me & my partner came here on 5/9/24 on a very rainy day. We both grabbed a little drink and a treat here and relaxed in the lovely cafe after a long wet walk from Croyde bay. The staff here were wonderful and all really lovely! The millionaires shortbread was the best I’ve ever had and the cheesy chips were delicious! There is a wide variety of drinks to choose from, both hot and cold. Really lovely vibes and will definitely come here again!

Location wise excellent. Unfortunately, this tired old looking pub has definitely seen better days! Need of major investment, but it would definitely be worth it. Years ago, this pub was full of customers all of the time.

One of the best Sunday carveries that we have experienced, with a wide range of vegetables & meat; welcoming staff, especially Kim & Wendy, nothing was too much bother
