Shenstone Chinese Takeaway & Fish Bar in Lichfield

Not my first choice but served a purpose.

Owner is very friendly, food arrives quickly and hot.

Not to best chinese take away. Though it was open at early, it is not what is expected from a takeaway. Highly priced, quantity of prawn very less and worst egg fried rice. Bad attitude of the front desk as well.

Special curry with fried rice, chips extra. One king prawn, barely any meat, lots of large, undercooked onions and mushy rice. Will NOT use again. Extremely disappointed 😞

Slow service and generally mediocre food, not helped by the extensive number of dishes on the menu. To be fair, I’ve had some really good noodles from there but everything else hasn’t been that good. It’s handy cos it’s local but that’s about it.

Don't go in after 9.00pm they turn off the range the chips are left in the warmer to get totally yak absolutely disgusting compared to Apple who used to run it she was brilliant Maybe the rumours about the place are true if you need a bit of cleaning done know what I mean just a rumour the food has hit the floor even if you were very drunk don't bother

My go to place for lunch on the way back from a busy day.

First time here for chicken kebab. Was cold when I got home, won't be coming again

Just had a sausage not the most inspiring staff and sausage was warm at best. Won't go there again

They still make the soft noodles I a decent size tray here. Alot of the takeaways have made cuts in the menu to keep on top of inflation.

Absolutley disgusting service, I dont understand how this place is still open!!!! Its in the perfect location yet these owners just dont give a dam. Im not one to complain normally but this needs to be said. Bring back a decent chippy with staff that care back to our village.

Had to go out so no dinner for us as hadn't arrived when we had to leave 1hr 45mins after ordering. Won't use again.

Ordered a takeaway for collection tonight and the food was cooked in an ample time and I didn’t have to wait long. It was also really delicious! I’ll certainly be back again

Only used this twice and stopped when we realised how low the 'scores on the doors' rated it based on the cleanliness etc. The food was OK, the service was fine but won't use it again until the score goes up. Its currently rated 3 which is "generally satisfactory " for hygiene,structural compliance and confidence in management. The hygiene rating is what concerned us the most

Travel from Brum just for chips and curry sauce. Love it.

Ordered fish and chips, wanton and Tofu. All are edible and tasted good.

Very poor service and food. Had to wait over twenty minutes for fish & chips on Friday evening! The fish was being prepared in the back kitchen for some reason and brought through two at a time, not in the frier counter as usual! Never again.

Foned to cancel meal delivery. Long before was due. Had to leave lichfield as son taken I'll. Was told cud only cancel online. Impossible, I tried. Today £40 taken from my bank account. No meal delivery. Never again

I ordered and had stuff missing and got the wrong change. The food is ok but when I order AND PAY FOR Roe with my chips I EXPECT Roe with my chips! Avoid if possible, If you have to order for here keep the item count down (2 max) and have the exact amount. Note that it's cash only read from that as you will. As an act of good faith I'll assume this is down to goof up rather than malice.

just horrendous..... bring back the old owners. or just go to Stonnall, much nicer from there

For somewhere that has always been 'mediocre' and god only knows why we continue to get takeaway from here.... Tonight's meal was absolutely appalling. Fish and chips that were that undercooked it was all transparent and a Chinese dish that was inedible. Won't be using ever again.

Worth going for Chinese chicken curry sauce

Really reliable local Chinese, good service, good food and good portions. The new owners have really turned it around!

Great takeout with reasonable prices. We ordered the set meal for 3 and were very happy. The portion sizes were generous - definitely enough for the 3 of us! The food was of good quality too and was ready to collect within the given time. We'll be back next weekend!

Gorgeous food, great portion sizes would highly recommend - sweet & sour chicken, beef & blackbean and salt and pepper chicken were delish👌

Highly recommend ordering from here if you want some decent Chinese food, everything we ordered was spot on! It's nice to see this place back open again which is now under new management. Will definitely be ordering again from here!

I found a hair in my order. Went back to complain the next day. The guy was not even bothered with my complaint. Another important thing to notice was that the person who served me had long grey straggerly SHOULDER LENGTH hair. His hair was NOT COVERED, HE WAS NOT WEARING A HAT, HIS HAIR WAS NOT TIED UP. All this, while serving and cooking food. NO SENSE OF HYGIENE, WHAT SO EVER. I have been to the shop next door on several occasions and have noticed through the window that this fellow still does not wear any hair or head coverings, even after my complaint. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.

Superb fresh fish and chips every time ive visited here in the last few weeks. Cooked to order to so you know its nice and fresh. Best chippy in the area 10/10.

Rude owner wouldn’t even swap spring roll for prawn toast of the set menu. No! Was the answer. Asked for three forks to go with the three meals I ordered but only got two and, to top it off, my chips contained a 6 inch long hair. Needless to say I won’t be going back.

Great food. Used then a few times now and always consistent. The food is fresh and hot. The portions are generous. Although they don't offer a delivery service this will be our default for takeaways from now on as we only a few miles away. Can't recommend them enough. Great work. Thank you all.

Decent fish n chips, fish cooked fresh to order

Been a regular for years. Chinese food is still great tasting as if chops etc..

Decent food. Fish and chip is nice. Takeaway portions are slightly small but it is reflecting the price.

Used to be alright food here, but has become increasingly inedible of late .... I don't know what they are trying to pass off as chicken but it's grey & rubbery the cat wouldn't even touch it - ended up in the bin !

Ordered Young chow fried rice & Sweet n Sour Cantonese chicken. Front of house seemed very nice. Kitchen staff long grey hair bit of a put off. Even more put off when fried rice contained long grey hairs! Chinese meal put in the bin. Purchase from shenstone again? I don’t think so. Lacking hygiene in the kitchens.

Inconsistent, left overs served from the lunchtime cook, awful chips, vile roe, disgusting fish, as I say totally inconsistent, on occasions you may be fortunate and get a meal that's edible but very seldom.

Contracted FOOD POISONING from cod bought on 28/10/17, both myself & boyfriend affected. Recent food safety rating is 1 star on LDC ‘rate my place’ lost 2 days off work, very annoyed, will always check ‘rate my place’ in future
