Shenanigans Irish Pub in Liverpool

A true Irish pub in Liverpool. It was lovely to chat with the young barmaid who was, like me, from County Down. A must visit. Dog-friendly too.

I can't score for the food as we didn't eat in the premises, but everything on the night was great, especially chatting with the locals.

En la calle Tithebarn hay un fantástico pub irlandés que ofrece una fantástica gama de comidas y una excelente gama de bebidas y este pub es el pub irlandés más auténtico de Liverpool. Es un pub que yo y mi gemelo hemos visitado un montón de veces a lo largo de los años y es tan bueno ahora como cuando fuimos aquí hace muchos años. Se encuentra en un edificio brillante que parece increíble cuando se ilumina. Tiene Murel en el lado del edificio que se ven magníficos. Su interior es magnífico con un bric - a - brac interior con muchos accesorios y características interesantes y accesorios increíbles en todo el interior. Hay una fantástica zona de bar en la planta superior que es excelente, con muchas características interesantes y y magníficas opciones de asientos y hay una excelente terraza exterior que ofrece magníficas vistas de esta zona. Fuimos aquí temprano en la tarde y no estaba realmente tan ocupado, pero acababa de abrir. Cuando visitamos aquí tuvimos unas copas de Guinness que se sirven en perfecto estado y a un precio razonable. Es un excelente pub irlandés'el mejor de Liverpool y es un pub bien vale la pena ir. Was in on a Sunday afternoon had a cracking pint of Guinness and an amazing Irish Stew. So good came back next day for breakfast! Very friendly staff, great value food and dark smooth coffee full of flavour. And yes the Guinness is as good as you’ve heard.

Fairly priced pint. The place seems small and crowded at first. Then you discover that there are several more floors with bars. Super cozy, good music and worth the visit.

Nice atmosphere usually, not as great as it used to be though. Some great staff, but some bad eggs too, however, and they take advantage of the place and their status. Bit pricey also, especially given its location.

It might look small in the outside but this place makes up for it on the inside. Best version of a T.A.R.D.I.S ( bigger on the inside). Looking forward to coming again when back on Liverpool

A real English pub. I didn't like the food. Lots of sauce and fat, but that's part of English food, I heard. Very cool to be there and highly recommended.

Best pint of Guinness I've had in a long time.

En resumen, un lugar fantástico para comer y beber a cualquier hora del día o de la noche! Sin duda uno de los mejores lugares en Liverpool!

Vino a tomar unas copas después de un partido del Liverpool de camino al hotel. ¡Qué hallazgo! Me encantó al instante el ambiente, las bebidas, fuego abierto y música! ¡Gran pub! Y eso es de un público y una hija 🙂 👍

Shenanigans, Tithebarn Street, Liverpool. Had an absolute belting pint of Guinness at Shenanigans. £5.10 The open fire was on and people were having breakfasts. I like the attitude of the owners. Entertainment on most nights.

Great Irish pub, cosy with great decor. Super friendly helpful staff. Draft beer and screens upstairs to watch sport. We turned up on a Sunday so the Sunday menu available with Sunday roast, etc. A couple in our group were vegan - although the staff were accommodating - on other days of the week there is more selection. Still great experience and highly recommend.

Went here with a mate to watch a football match. None of the staff seemed to know how to work the tv to get the football on. Tried to order some food, seemed to be ignored or just forgotten about, was busy ish but not rammed so no excuse. Eventually ordered some chicken wings, a few chicken wings came on a small plate on their own... £7.50 for this is a bit of a joke really, could have come with little bit of salad or half a dozen chunky chips on the side then would be value for money. This pub was recommended.... not impressed really !

Great place to stop for a pint. Staff is very friendly and helpful. We had Christmas dinner and couple of drinks. The food wasn’t bad but the potatoes were really dark and mushy-definitely sing that they were deep fried. The sliders were dry and a bit cold. Overall everything else was great.

In search of the best Guinness in Liverpool, I stumbled upon Shenanigans. It’s good. My search continues.

Son started University in Liverpool in September and nipped in for a drink on last visit to see him, his accommodation is literally just round the corner on Hatton Garden. Really good welcome, even for a Manc to Liverpool !! Had a good vibrant feel, top Irish bar, looks a little deceptive when walking in as appears to be compact with the bar and tables really close, but the pub itself is over 2 floors and a roof bar terrace so plenty of seating, bar on first floor too. Lot of Irish memorabilia round the walls and ceiling, plus TVs showing football creating a good atmosphere. The Guinness was good and there was a regular flow of custom, visitors and locals, plus there were a number of students so a mixed age group of people. Good quality Guinness, poured and served perfectly. Have a good selection of food - snacks and main menu.

Best pint of guinness you will get in Liverpool! An incredible pub with an abundance of character, always a warm welcome staff are brilliant and always on hand if you need anything. Food is incredible quality pub food (Irish stew and the cajun halloumi fries are my personal favourites) always entertainment on, great music and all major sports can be watched here. 10/10!!!

Unas estupendas semanas de vacaciones en Albufeira llegaron a su fin, volamos hacia el Aeropuerto John Lennon de Liverpool y saltamos el autobús hacia el centro de la ciudad de Liverpool, una noche de octubre sombría, lluviosa y fría , un gran contraste con el sol ininterrumpido y las temperaturas de más de 30 grados centígrados que acabábamos de disfrutar en Albufeira pero caminar hacia Shenanigans Irish Pub pronto nos levantó el ánimo , es un pub que siempre esperamos visitar. Un pub maravilloso, situado en cuatro plantas, un pub clásico de la época victoriana, la decoración y el mobiliario son excelentes, muy pubby de hecho, tanto bric un brac adornando las paredes, hay bar de servicio de aspecto fresco y un montón de opciones de asientos, es solo un gran pub para relajarse. Fuimos recibidos con una sonrisa por un miembro muy agradable del equipo del bar, pedimos pintas de cerveza de Carling Brewery, estas se sirvieron en excelentes condiciones siendo heladas frías y espumosas, nos relajamos y empapamos de la gran vibra en este concurrido y popular pub irlandés mientras bebíamos nuestras cervezas. No es mi tipple habitual, más bien soy un verdadero fan de la cerveza artesanal y la cerveza ale pero debo decir que realmente disfruté de esta cerveza estilo lager, una cerveza lager dorada, llena de sabor y muy fácil de beber, fue tan bueno estar en un pub irlandés tan encantador disfrutando de una deliciosa cerveza y me senté con mi hermano gemelo, el mejor compañero de cerveza del mundo. Ambos disfrutamos mucho de nuestras cervezas aquí y el gran ambiente tanto que terminamos quedándonos a tomar otra cerveza cada uno antes de seguir adelante y aunque nuestra visita fue solo fugaz como en cada otra visita a Shenanigans Irish Pub nos lo pasamos muy bien. Shenanigans Irish Pub es fácil encontrar a lo largo de la calle Tithebarn. El horario de apertura es; Lunes a viernes, abierto de 7 am. Sábado y domingo, abierto a partir de las 9 . 30 am. Vale la pena comprobar si estás en la zona o planeando un viaje a Liverpool.

When you are going near the pub, you might think that there are too much people here, and you should just go further. But don't do that. Take a pint of guinness, drink it and take another one. And you will love the place.

Una de nuestras tontas tradiciones es encontrar un pub irlandés en cada ciudad que visitamos. Liverpool no era diferente. Vino a almorzar y tomar una pinta. Shenanigans tiene una sensación muy auténtica. Ha estado allí desde la década de 1840. Decoración ecléctica que solo viene con el tiempo. No es nada como los pubs falsos que aparecen. El personal era amable. El guiso irlandés era muy sabroso. Hay muchos pubs en la zona. Éste es uno en el que vale la pena detenerse.

Great traditional style Irish pub, much better than the tacky places in the city centre.

It might be relatively quite small but it packs a punch on atmosphere and being oh so Quirky. Standing on its own, the Pub has the most amazing wall art on the side gable. The inside is just filled with memorabilia and Irish related stuff. If you like your Guinness then this place has the best pint in Liverpool. They also do an amazing breakfast and there is even a small roof top area should the weather be decent. We found that the bar had some excellent choices and we sampled more than a few!!. Definately a call back with the "lads" next time.

Have to say, this place is spot on. Such a good fit out. The roof terrace is a lovely place to hang out. All floors are all furnished with plenty of space to sit and catch up. The food menu is varied and what's delivered on the plate it's amazing. I'll be popping in especially to try their breakfast. Beautiful Guinness too

Make your way up to the top floor, have a chinwag with the chef, and she might throw you a sausage.

Lovely staff who do their best for their customers, good drinks which are not too pricey and the food is delicious. The bar staff are always able to be pleasant and uplifting the lot of them.

We had ordered food and drinks, and as we were leaving the pub we were confronted by one of the staff asking if we'd left a bad review. We felt as if the staff member was very confrontational and felt uncomfortable at the pub after the interaction. Probably wouldn't come back because of this.

We are students who are here regularly. We ordered food as we usually do, however they charged us £14.50 extra than usual. When we queried they refused to refund us despite the deal for food being 4 for £20. In total we paid £56 (around £34 for the food that is within the deal) with added extras that are not part of the deal. Staff were very rude and passive aggressive about this. I used to love going here but I won’t be returning since being basically scammed.

Top marks for the authenticity of Shenanigans. As far as Irish bars really feel, this was spot on. The Guinness was good and there was a regular flow of regulars, visitors and tourists coming through the bar. Definitely in my Top 10 international Irish bars so far.

My twin brother and I were pub hopping around this part of the city when we decided to drop into Shenanigans Irish Pub, been here many times over the years, always had a good time and so it proved on our latest visit. I love the look of this pub ,housed in an historically important building, the pub is set over four floors ,decor and furnishings throughout is eclectic and interesting and there's lots of seating options spread throughout this pub which has an upstairs outside terrace up top,its just a great pub to unwind in. We were here on a Thursday afternoon, pub was just starting to get busy with a great atmosphere, we ordered a guinness each, these were poured in the correct manner even allowing time for the all important settle, we brought our guinness up top to the outside rooftop bar were we chilled out and planned out the day ahead while sipping our guinness. Guinness in here is spot on ,thick, creamy, smooth and most importantly iced cold, it was just so good being in such a lovely pub enjoying a quality brew and sat with my twin brother, best beer companion in the world. We really enjoyed our guinness in here before we moved on and although our visit was only fleeting as on every other visit to Shenanigans Irish Pub we had a great time. Shenanigans Irish Pub is easy to locate along Tithebarn Street. Opening hours are; Monday to Friday, open from 8am. Saturday & Sunday, open from 10am. Well worth checking out if you're in the area.

I had an afternoon to kill in Liverpool and looked up the best place for Guinness in Liverpool. This place consistently came up online as the best. Having made the effort to visit several on the list of the apparent best I can confirm it's the best Guinness in Liverpool! It comes very close to some of the top pints in Dublin which says it all

Nice music, nice atmosphere, nice staff, but... We have been repeatedly harassed and physically attacked by a group of drunk homosexual individuals. Totally can't recommend this place for hetero people unless you want to get into a fight.
