Simply the best station bar EVER - imo !!! Huge choice of great beers and spirits. Special shout out to Eleanor behind the bar, she went the extra mile to help a poorly equipped traveller out - that's what you call CUSTOMER SERVICE ! It's the small things that mean a lot...and don't cost anything. Thank you 10/10 x

I came for a drink today 17.11.24 @ 16:15. Two barmen working, slimmer lad was very helpful. I initially asked the other what non-alchoholic beers they had. He rudely motioned to a fridge and said they were in there. I asked him which ones they had as I didn’t have my glasses on. He again rudely told me I’d just have to look for myself. Disgusting behaviour!

One of the best cars in Sheffield. Smell of beer being brewed in the back room. Glasses cooled, amazing selection of beers. Absolute gem. Restoration work a triumph. Too often are buildings like this allowed to go derelict.

Stood 10 mins to get served, barman no clue who was next in line. Some geezer just walked and he went to serve him next. Isnt that a core skill of barstaff to know who you're serving next? Bar top soaked with ale, overpriced wine, won't be coming again.

A great selection and knowledgeable staff - quite pricey though! I asked for a Dank Marvin and the barman VERY helpfully said - you do know that is £8.10 for a pint? I went ouch! He explained the other prices and as I only had 20mins before my train left & I didn't want to neck an £8 pint I settled for a half. Then he said "we do 2/3s?" - what an upsell! A salesman after my own heart - excellent service, would have got 5* if it wasn't for the prices. Lovely expansive place and a view of the station interior.

Good selection of drinks at reasonable prices. Disappointed with service however, the staff seem uninterested in customers and were more focused on each other - had their backs turned to the bar, pouring the wrong beer as if it’s cute, and chatting to each other loudly. While the glasses were collected by the bouncer, who honestly was the most attentive. One even blew their nose beside someone serving a pint. Agree with the other review here about staff acting like it’s a hangout place, it’s very unprofessional.

Great selection of beers but the staff seem to think it's their place to hangout rather than a station pub. Had a 30 minute turnaround, one member of staff serving whilst two were having a cuddle in the corner. When one of said two got up they decided to stay cleaning the lines rather than serving punters. If you want a mañana atmosphere for your pub, don't have it in a train station

An incredible bar; the back room is the Sheffield drinking-scene’s answer to the Hall of Mirrors at the Palace of Versailles and isn’t to be missed; resplendent with chandeliers, seating reminiscent of the House of Lords (or perhaps the Midland Railway), brewing-equipment and unsurprisingly- mirrors. There’s a vast array of beer on tap. It is a little pricey and can be busy, but you get what you pay for I suppose. Certainly the nicest and warmest place to wait for a train on the otherwise culturally desolate Sheffield station.

An on platform station brewpub with a great selection of beers and a very sympathetically restored bar with Grecian architecture which creates a special atmosphere. Coming through Sheffield quite a lot recently, it’s always a pleasure to stop off at this lovely Good Beer Guide listed venue for an hour or two whilst waiting for connecting trains. There are quite a few compartments/joining rooms to the back and side of the bar, so it’s easy to find a quiet spot to wait time, although on Saturdays it does tend to get busy. The beers - usually around 10 casks at peak times, and the same amount in keg form, plus ciders, and an extensive bottles and can range - are served in great condition and cover a wide range of styles from pale ales to stouts to sours and other more interesting concoctions. Thornbridge is typically represented in the line up, as are the operators, Tapped Brew Co., but guest breweries are plentiful and the line up rotates often. Staff are friendly and warn you if the price of a pint is significantly more than you would normally expect to pay (which is possible with some of the more limited edition or hop forward beers). Generally, I found the cask ales to be £4.50-£5.50/pint, but the keg could be up to £8 for a 5% abv. Absolutely recommended to stop off for a refreshing beverage if you are in Sheffield or changing trains there.

Beer selection is great and they seem to clean their lines. Rooms are stunning. But the staff were miserable and abusive blokes. Rude to everyone. It wasn’t even busy but they didn’t bother to pay attention to the queue order. My server swore several times at me. First because the line of my chosen beer was very gassy and second because my card didn’t work the first time. Get a grip. Take a deep breath lad. Edit: been sat here for a bit now. These lads have serious anger issues. I get that it’s a transient pub and a lot of people you won’t see again but my lord. They are slamming the glasses down, spilling pints Treating people with disdain. Speaking as condescending as they can. I don’t like my job either but I have a bit of pride. Guess they would prefer the dole.

A great spot for a delicious pint, whether travelling through on the trains or just out in Sheffield city centre. The Sheffield Tap is a railway station adjoining venue, which has a really nice classic tiled bar look. A lot of dark wooden furniture and a few cosy booths, accentuated with traditional brass bar fittings, makes this a classy place. As for the drinks on offer - a great mix of standard international brands and more local independent marques, with something to suit various tastes and wallets. From beers and ales to ciders and spirits, the Sheffield Tap caters to a wide customer base. The really nice atmosphere in this lovely venue is heightened by the fact that unlike most bars/pubs these days, they don’t blast music making you have to shout at each other - rather, you get a steady hubbub of genuine lively conversation.
