Sheeps and Leeks in Gwynedd

I can’t rate Sheeps and Leeks highly enough, the 10-course menu was absolutely sublime. Every course is a work of art, beautifully matched with a wine pairing. Don’t be put off by the location, the experience will blow you away. We can’t wait to return.

We had a wonderful evening of good food, excellent wine, and a unique experience. The waiting staff were knowledgeable, and knew their stuff. The Sommelier was great at his job, and his pairings were excellent.

Fine dining in a relaxed and intimate space. Set taster menu of 7 courses. Each was art on the plate. Local ingredients cooked my a master. Sublime. Book. Then book again one a quarter as the menu changes with the season.

I recently dined at Sheeps and Leeks, opting for the 10-course taster menu with accompanying wines. As a guy accustomed to generous portions, I was initially skeptical about the smaller servings, but the Michelin-star experience exceeded my expectations. Each plate delivered outstanding flavors and top-notch quality. The impeccable service and hospitality added to the overall enjoyment. Looking forward to returning for the next menu – a delightful culinary experience.

Absolutely fantastic. The 10 courses, whilst small, are the PERFECT amount of food. Once all are finished they leave you feeling comfortably full after. We chose the wine pairing option which was £47 extra I think, it is absolutely worth it. Each wine goes perfectly with each course. The staff were amazing. I can’t wait to go back. Highly recommended. I’ve been telling my friends about it. My only worry is that in time I won’t be able to get a table to go back again as this place becomes more and more popular. The frontage is very unassuming and that adds to the charm of things because when seated the atmosphere and attentiveness of everyone who works there is superb. If you’re travelling to North Wales and visiting Caernarfon for holiday, or a local then this is a must on anyone’s itinerary.

We had the 10 course taster menu. There are no words, it was amazing. The food is beyond words. The staff were all lovely and welcoming and took time to explain every dish. I would highly recommend. Can't wait to go back!

Fourth time of visiting over past couple of years -again never fails to impress. This time as a couple, food perfect. To be honest I am not a big fan of taster menus but sheeps and leeks is different. The menu has been different (seasonal) every time, which I liked and always tasty. Continue the same- will visit again! Suggestion , we had a nice bottle of red- would like more french red wine choices but this is personnal preference.

What a fabulous meal. Really wasn’t expecting it to be this good. 10 fab courses of locally sourced produce. The staff were helpful and lovely. Whole experience was really enjoyable.

Loved the 7 course taster menu, food delicious and some punchy little surprising touches. The flight of wines were extremely good and again surprised at how they tasted totally different with the course. Front of house, big thank you for explaining the courses, and checking we had everything we needed.

I have just had the most amazing 7 course taster meal here. The kitchen is as you walk in, on a cold Welsh wet and windy night the smell and warmth you’re met with is very welcome. The seating area is down the stairs and from the moment you arrive you are treated with the best food and hospitality. I had a fabulous Sauvignon Blanc and sadly due to driving was unable to join in with the wine flight. The front of house was clearly knowledgeable and passionate about the wine selection and food. All the staff were super friendly and professional but giving a chilled and relaxed atmosphere. The 7 courses were sublime and the menu did the local produce used proud. There was nothing i did not like, the toilet was a little chilly but I can live with that! I cannot wait to return for another experience. Well worth a visit and I am looking forward to what the other seasons bring in this fab little gem!

Had a lovely evening once again at this magnificent restaurant, From start to finish we had a wonderful time. The 10 course tasting menu is a culinary delight if you are a foodie. Too many great dishes to mention. Highlights were the mini fish and chips with pee puree and the local duck, we also loved the artichoke dish. The head waiter really knows his stuff and is a credit to the team at sheep's and leeks. The setting and lighting is fine with a nice vibe, my only constructive criticism would be the tacky brick wall paper doesn't do the place justice. With just a little bit of TLC to the decor this place would be magnificent. I would also invest in some proper storage heaters for the walls instead of plug ins. A little bit of fine tuning on these bits and the Michelin star will be next!!!!!! Good luck 🤞

Amazing culinary experiences and phenomenal service.

Although the food was and staff were excellent, our last course was a pudding which contained coffee liquor. We stipulated that we were non alcohol drinkers when booking, so we were unable to eat the final course and feel that an alcohol free alternative should have been made available. A suggestion of a non alcohol pairing instead of just wine pairing to the food might be a good idea too.

This was definetly an experience! The food was amazing and each plate brought a different outstanding taste. My favourites included the pork snack, the lamb with hollandaise sauce and truffles, the seabass with crab and the mouth watering steak from Plas Ucha, Ysbyty Ifan farm. It’s certainly also outstanding that they use local produce which contributes to this special experience. Would definetly visit again to try a different term menu!

Such a worthy winner of Wales Casual Dining Restaurant of the Year. The 7 course tasting menu is truly exceptional. The dry aged Sirloin with Kale & Snowdon Valley Mushrooms was a particular stand out course, so too the line caught Sea Bass and Crab. First Visit to this restaurant while on holiday . Really welcoming staff , gorgeous 7 course tasting menu , every bite perfectly balanced , the desert just blew me away . We have eaten in many Michelin star restaurants and the standard of food in this restaurant was a good as anywhere I have eaten . Great value for money at 70 per head , Drinks very reasonable . We ate here recently to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary and all of the staff made it a very special evening. We were greeted on arrival and congratulated on our anniversary before being led downstairs to the dining area where we were introduced to our host for the evening who was very friendly and knowledgeable. We had a 7 course taster menu with wine pairing and were blown away by the quality of the food and wine. Thank you for such a wonderful experience.

Sheeps and Leeks is housed in a rather plain unit next door to a boarded up shop and opposite a weatherspoons, not the best impressions when you first arrive, however, inside and down the stairs is a different matter, a modern clean uncluttered dining room. Seven course tasting menu all extremely tasty and good to look at and unlike many tasting menus the dishes were of a reasonable size. The staff were very nice, pleasant and informative. Will certainly go to Sheeps and Leeks again when in Caenarfon.

The exceptional flavours and preparation of every course is inspired . The entire team complement the chef’s talent (Paul Hearn) with friendly , knowledgeable service and understanding. Wine pairing is available and a wide range per glass is very reasonably priced as are bottles. No wonder they are award winning . Fantastic experience - not just a meal.

This is not a meal out. It is a culinary dining experience. The food was exquisite in every way. From the presentation, tableware used, positioning of the plates on the table- everything was just so! The staff gave full explanations of the dishes being eaten and the produce was locally grown or sourced wherever possible. The wine pairings package was good value and the wines had been carefully selected to complement each dish. Quite honestly- a truly unforgettable experience.

We had an amazing evening at Sheeps and Leeks. Everything about the evening was wonderful. The staff were extremely friendly, relaxed and knowledgeable - there was none of the stuffiness of a high end restaurant, but high end this certainly was. The 7 courses were all wonderful - the particular highlights for us being the butternut squash veloute and the pigs cheek courses. My husband had the wine pairing and thoroughly enjoyed the experience - some really interesting pairings. I highly recommend this restaurant and we will remember the evening for a long time to come.
