Shazanz food is amazing.. Motz baiya is a gem of a person, very welcoming and knowledgeable when it comes to Asian cuisine. Definitely top service and best thing it is consistent each time you visit.

The doner is always nice but tried the chicken curry which was tasty and a little spicy. Thoroughly enjoyed the meal. My friends had the Sherpur pasty which is quite big and filling and can feed 2.

I personally didn't see the hype. The food was good, but nothing I personally thought was worth the expense and hype. I really liked the lamb chops though, absolutely 10/10. However the signature Sherpur Donner was mid tier at best Service started off well, but no one came and checked on us after the food came, asked if the food was ok. I believe some of the waiters friends came in and they were solely focused on them.

Food is awesome and adequately spicy, and the atmosphere is busy and energetic! But they don't take cards, so finishing up was a bit of a pain. Will definitely be back (with cash in hand...)

1st time we went we met the owner who was lovely guy. The second visit was very weird one of the waiters was acting very weird like he was annoyed to serve us.

I'm 31 and have eaten here since I was 14, they're the original spicy kebab and still the best to this day.

We were celebrating a birthday and heard about this place and thought we would try it out. There were 7 of us and we didn’t have a booking but didn’t have to wait long before we were seated. The staff were very friendly and chatty and were happy to make some recommendations. We tried their famous sherpur donner with naan, peri peri chicken with fries and a mixed grill. The food upon arrival looked fresh and the portion sizes were impressive. Needless to say the food was tasty and was finished without any complaints. We would have tried the desserts but were too full from the mains. I did spot another dish which looked like a shepherds pie which I was told contained pasta, donner meat and was topped with cheese. Whilst I didn’t get a chance to try it, it certainly caught my eye and will be my choice when I come back next time.

Without question the Sherpur Donner is the best donner I have ever tried. The Biryani and Mixed grill is fantastic too. Great service over the phone, I’ll be sure to return and eat in the restauraunt.

Very busy place, service and waiting time for food was 15mins. Cash only, decent prices, food was great, we ate there mac and cheese shazans special doner, lovely 10/10!! Naga donor was a killer 10/10! Juicy peri peri wings… definitely will go there again and recommend everyone to try it out.

I took my family for the first time. Really impressed with the tasty food, we ordered curries, Sherpur Donner, Parmesan chicken and other dishes and drinks. We were all very happy with our food.. it was very tasty and fresh. The customer service was great, staff very friendly and helpful. I would recommend you try this place out at least once 👌👌

Food amazing very loud and can't relax

Excellent food at Shazanz, one of Birmingham's best restaurants. From the minute we entered the store the staff were friendly and helpful. The food came promptly and tasted delicious. I recommend the fish and chips. Their curry sauce is delicious. I love their unique twist on the humble doner kebab. The food was so good it's become a firm favourite of ours and we've been back many times with guests.

Shazans in Birmingham offers great service with a smile. The staff are welcoming and make you feel right at home. The donner is delicious, and the friendly atmosphere adds to a great dining experience.

Very compact seating, good deco, food not so good in taste and flavours. On average 4/10. Chicken parsmen is a basic fillet burger with melted cheap cheese. Disappointed 😞

I went few weeks ago with some of my family ( 10 of us, rest of 20 couldn't make it!).....as foodies/food lovers we always tend to over order as we want to treat our stomachs and tantalise our taste buds to as much different flavours as possible. Being in the hospitality industry myself, im automatically very critical and notice most things, so not easy to please. But I must say that the food was delicious, all the different dishes were well presented, cooked well and tasted very good. Some of the dishes we tried were the sherpur fish and chips, naga wings, mix sherpur donner, peri peri chicken, burgers, and some dishes which wasn't on their menu but we had seen on their social media, their pie was amazing. We had a range of their mocktails and other drinks, service was excellent, friendly warm and efficient. Definitely highly recommended and will be back.

This place brings back memories especially when it was a small fast food joint and the owner would give amazing 1st class customer service. Now the new place which looks beautiful, thought I'd give it a go. The sherpur Donner as always taste lovely but the chicken parmesan was bland and tasteless, need to improve on the taste or maybe it was a one off?

After seeing several social media post and food reviews online it was only right to try Shazans out as it was highly recommended. We tried the Sherpur lamb doner and Masala fish based on a friend’s recommendation. The masala fish had a great balance of spice flavouring coated around a very well cooked piece of fish. Unfortunately, the highly anticipated Sherpur doner wasn’t for our liking as it was way too spicy and borderline unbearable. Slightly disappointed. Overall first impressions of restaurant interior looks very well lit and welcoming with pleasant staff.

I recently ventured into the flavorful domain of Shazanz, and let me tell you, it was quite the culinary ride.First up, the mixed grill. Picture a symphony of grilled delights playing a harmonious tune of flavor in your mouth. Every bite was a standing ovation-worthy performance. The lamb, the chicken, the kebabs – all so fantastic, I almost gave them a round of applause.The smash burger was up next, and it was a real contender for "Burger of the Year." Juicy, flavorful, and perfectly smashed – this burger didn’t just sit in the bun; it owned it. If it were a person, it would have walked in slow-motion to dramatic music.Now, about the chili sauce. It’s a bit of an acquired taste, like jazz or abstract art. At first, it might make you go, "Hmm," but then it hits you with a pleasant kick.

Happen to be passing by the other day and stopped to grab some of their one time famous ‘sherpuri’ doner kebabs. Haven’t been in a few years… The interior decor & whole layout has changed massively. Looks tired, so it’s been a while but it’s much better than the old layout. Same people still running it. So that initially seemed like a good sign. This place used to be a favourite of mine years ago. Would go there for some delicious food with friends whenever I was nearby. Reminiscing over… On to the important bit, the review! I ordered one of their sherpuris with fries in addition to a few other things. The sherpuri I’m saddened to say failed to meet expectations. Tasted nowhere close to what they used years ago. Lacked the unique flavour. The other items I ordered were okay but nothing wow. The customer service wasn’t there like before either. Member of staff who served me seemed like he was fed up with life. Don’t think I’ll be returning any time soon. *Update: 31.07.2024* Returned to this establishment after a very long time. Noticed some time ago they’d changed location and it looked quite good. Thought I’d give them another chance… Sadly, I have very little positive to say. Positives: - Interior is a massive improvement compared to before. - Improved customer service compared to last visit. - Food portion size is good. Negatives: - Quality and flavour of food has taken a nosedive. Didn’t think it would be like this but that’s how it is unfortunately. - ‘CASH ONLY’ and the nearest ATM charges 0.65p per transaction. - Ordered one every mocktail off their menu and I would strongly advise everyone not to waste their hard earned monies. At almost £5 each they all pretty much tasted the same with no distinct flavour. - The once famous Sherpuri doesn’t even have a hint of the old flavour. - Seating is cramped. If all tables are occupied staff struggle to get through. - Suitable parking is almost non-existent.

Alhamdulilah the ambiance was perfect. The service was wonderful. Our waiter was so attentive and accommodating Highly highly recommend!!!

First time going and i wasnt disappointed, I was welcomed by the staff soon as i walked in, the place is done up really well and they have plenty of seating area including upstairs. We ordered our food and the waiters regularly checked on us. Very happy with the food and the service. Would highly recommend. The only downfall is they dont accept card is cash only, other than that everything else is spot on.

5 stars is not enough for this place. Ive been a customer here for the last 10 years and the consistency of quality in their food has always remained the same. The brothers go above & beyond to provide a great customer experience. The sherpuri donnor is the best!

Had been wanting to try out this place for a while. They hadn't updated their opening times, so i stood outside for 30mins. I ordered the Sherpur fish with masala fries and Sherpur donner for takeaway. The portion size was generous, the flavour of the donner was mouthwatering. If you like curried chips then this this fish and chips will be right up your street. The service was good. I was the first order they got out, they were relatively busy as soon as they opened which shows they're quite popular. Oh and toilets were nice and clean!

Incorrect opening times, very disappointing

A very nice experience, the food was fresh and presented very well. Nice and clean environment, the restaurant staff were very friendly and explained the menu in great detail, my only feedback was why charge for Naga sauce? When it should be complimentary and the mix grill should have 4 mutton chops as opposed to the 2 that it was offered with 😎

Knowing what it’s like to be on the receiving end of a food review i would like to start by saying the welcome & service received at Shazanz was exceptional. Wonderful staff with great customer service skills & a pleasant manner. I came for the donner as i had it when it was a small establishment many years ago and it didn’t disappoint. I wasn’t a fan of the mixed grill as i was looking forward to the lamb chops which were a little fatty for my liking. The peri peri chicken was palatable but not their strong point. It lacked the moistness & char grilled texture one would expect. Saying that, the things they specialise in which Shazanz is famed for were on point and I would come back for the donner for sure

I recently dined at Shazanz, and I must say it was a delightful experience. The staff welcomed me warmly, creating a friendly atmosphere. The food was not only tasty but also authentic. Portion sizes were generous, and I was pleasantly surprised by the reasonable prices. For instance, their fish and chips with curry sauce, priced at £10.95, was a steal. Even more rare these days, they charged only £1.00 for a can of drink. Overall, Shazanz is a gem, and I highly recommend it!

I went here the toilets were out of order I went with kids and they told me to go up the road half way through my meal when my little girl needed the toilet , the portion is small and I went for large I’d say smaller than a small mixed meat donner Crazy how they charge for a jazzed up donner meat It’s not even better quality Go to a proper restaurant and get real food not chip shop food jazzed up and they charging 4 times the price This place is a joke stay well away

Very nice polite people Food I had Sherpur Donner with Nan. It's 1 of their best sellers I travel 15 to 20 mins to get to them. Its worth travelling if the food is nice. They have also moved from the old location. The seating here is more family oriented

I bought a takeaway naga wings and lemon chilli rice only 3 wings and pre cooked microwave heated rice very dry £8.90 was ripp off for what I recieved and the place is more modern but the pre cooked food is not nice at all didn't have a nice taste well dissapointed

We ordered a range of dishes, the sherpuri donner tasted good and the spicy chicken burger was average. Fish and chips had interesting Asian twist but the mixed grill was disappointing. Overall would describe the food as average however the customer service was excellent with attentive and friendly staff.

Shazanz used to have top quality and service but now its just bad. I know UK going through inflation but bro look at the portion of chips bro . Doesnt even balance out with the amount of donner i got. Too much donner and about 25 pieces of fries. £8 aint got no salad and less fries. Also when i made the phone order i asked for sherpur donner biryani. The girl said ok and i told her is it 100% the lamb donner yh not the meat. Asked her twice she said yes its donner dont worry. But i ended up getting meat biryani. Called in to tell uncle situation he said your going to either have to wait and will take a long time or next time ill sort it out. I said i dont mind waiting because one persons missing out on there food then from the order. Then he says ok but you will have to pay for it . I said why though . I explained to the girl clearly three times what i wanted. And i still got the wrong thing. Then i just left it said sort it next time but to be honest wont be ordering next time again. Been going to this place for over 6 years now. Disappointed was going to come try the new pie thing out but if you can provide me good service in store but through delivery its a different story then forget it. Rather miss out on the pie.

Hi we ordered a biryani so it said will come with daal when it came it was a little mint sauce pot which wasnt even full we have never had a sauce this less amount we are regular customers of places so it was very surprising seeing this amount

We had the BEST customer service from start to finish. The staff constantly asked us if we needed anything and were very accommodating and so polite and understanding. And of course the food was delicious as always! You can never fault the food. So proud to see Shazans move from takeaway to a restaurant. Well deserved!

I wish there was no star limit when it came to reviews. A 5 star review doesn’t even cut it. From the moment I walked in where Shazan said Salaam, to where he showed us where to go. The aura of that man makes people come back, that was even before I looked at the food. I went and sat down and was greeted by Motz and he did not get anything wrong. Name me another place where the waiters are so on point, you can’t. Been going here since I started Uni and I will always travel from London to come back for a fat Mixed Sherpur Donner. The reason for their success is down to the fact that they carry themselves well. This and their food is a dangerous combination, May Allah bless all the brothers. My go to spot in Birmingham.

I have been coming to this place for years, I remember when they were a small takeaway on Lozells Road and the food was always amazing then and the service was always impeccable, and i am glad to say it is still the same, the owner is such a down to earth and humble guy, the door tastes the same more as it did then, I recommend it to all lovely family friendly place with amazing food and even better service. Home of the original as sherpur donner.

I’ve heard a lot good about this place but as I travelling around that area thought I place an order with Uber eats to pick up, so I ordered king prawns which tasted nice and juicy and also ordered the fully loaded Parmesan chicken, now this is where everything went down hill the Description stated thick cut chips but I was given the standard run of the mill French fries all soggy, the Parmesan chicken was a mission to bite into it was chewy hard and I don’t think this was cooked fresh to order, I paid good hard earn money for this meal and I decided to call the Restaurant to let them know my issue, so a kid picks it up and says his the manager I told him my issue he just replied sorry bro can’t do nothing about it the owner hasn’t changed the Uber eats menu listing etc.. so a message to the owner plz brother look after your customers I feel let down considering spending good amount of money and not enjoying the food is something that needs to addressed.

Ordered the sherpur fish and chips and it had multiple bones in it, how can I enjoy fish and chips with bones cutting my mouth open. It’s sad how down this place has gone.

Sherpur Doner is nice but the waiter should have given the options - Mild, Medium or Hot as it was too Spicy for the kids

1.Young waiter with the cap sold us what we did not want while we were ordering his aim was to just upsell as much as possible trying for us to order more and more i highlighted to him its just 2 of us eating.He told us the creme donner did not come with rice or fries therfore we ordered loaded fries, once the food came out we pointed out to him that the creme donner actually has fries with it and we specifically asked him this before ordering as there is no description under the dishes, his reply was dw just take left overs home.(we didnt make a fuss & allowed it). 2.He then tried forcefully selling us extra drinks and kept telling us to take them for the journey home we had to ask him to take it away 3/4 times. he finally did but didn't remove them from the bill once we paid & noticed it still on the receipt. we went back in for the correct change(this waiter should be a car salesman) 3.Prices on the menu are different from what they actually charge you at the till. They tell you prices have increased due to refurbishment & new premise when you question it as you go to pay, but maybe update the prices on the menu? 4. The food was ok in my opinion, but like most places, everything is overpowered with sauces rather than the main dish itself e.g meat. 5. In this day & age you expect to be able to pay via card and not cash only. However cash only sign is displayed at the till which I missed while walking in. Despite my poor experience there are some positives too 1.they don't sell coca cola products 2.the owners themselves are always kind and welcoming 3.the new place looks good!

What a wonderful place with excellent service! The food was finger licking good! Soft tender meat, freshly grilled (I am still trying to figure out how they managed to serve it so fast) One of the best fries and doner we have ever tasted! *chef's kiss* Mixed grill was a highlight of our meal. Exceptionally good mojitos and chilled Salam cola The guy at the reception and guys who served us were so kind and helped to adjust there with the baby. This place has a convenient parking right in front of it on the road (plus there’s a private car park there too) It has a ramp in the entrance so it's stroller and wheel chair friendly too And extra 🌟 for supporting 🇵🇸

Updated review May 2024 Ordered a couple of sherpur pasties and a sherpur pie. Sherpur pasty was delicious but the sherpur pie, even though it was tasty but in my opinion it had to much carbs. Prices have increased since they have moved premises but the portions sizes definitely make up for that, very generous in my opinion. 1st review Different variety of foods available from Burgers, Biryanis, Curries, Steaks and different types of seafood to choose from Salmon, Cod, Prawns, King Lobster etc... Friendly staff and always service with a smile. My particular favourite is their Sherpur Lamb Donner. It tickles your taste buds and always hits the spot. 🔥🔥🔥. Would definitely recommend to visit and try out the Sherpur Lamb Donner.
