We met a group of old uni friends here for a nostalgic reunion and the staff could not have been lovelier - what with changes of orders and people arriving over a period of time, it must have felt like herding cats, but they were unfailingly cheerful, friendly and patient. And as always the food was absolutely fabulous! Thank you La Plancha for making us so welcome once again.

Enjoyed a great sharing tapas meal here. Excellent food, helpful and efficient service. Highly recommended.

I visited La Plancha as part of a school trip and the service couldn’t have been better. There were 45 people in total and the restaurant were amazing at accommodating all of the allergies and dietary requirements. Communication via email before the trip was always quick and they were more than happy to make slight adjustments to the menu and number of people that they would have to accommodate. The food was lovely and all of the people working there on the day were extremely helpful. We would definitely visit again!

Delicious tapas meal, reasonably priced and with great drinks, friendly staff.

I have been going to La Plancha for many years - decent food but a couple of the staff can be quite grumpy. In particular, one of them has never smiled in all the time I have been going there. Sometimes when you order all you get is a terse "I'll be with you in a minute" and the minute has, on occasions, turned out to be literally 10. Sometimes it feels as though you are an intrusion.

Staff was friendly and kind. Food was delicious - especially the churros. Great atmosphere

This is a good tapas restaurant. Very busy Friday evening but good service. The food was well cooked and portions very big. We liked the prawns and the lamb. Wine list was okay

A first rate evening of tapas, cocktails and deserts with a lovely atmosphere and attentive staff. We ordered around 7 tapas for 3 people, all beautifully presented, absolutely delicious and plentiful. A few cocktails each, equally impressive, tasty and boozy, topped off with gorgeous deserts. Me and my wife have always enjoyed La Plancha and this evening our dear friend discovered why. Really can’t fault this lovely restaurant. Highly recommended.

Tasty food and good selection of drinks - especially cocktails. Was fairly quiet for a Friday night, but that might have been because it was a week after Mother's Day and before pay day! I don't think the menu has changed in years, but there's plenty to choose from and the quality remains high. Knocked off a star as they claimed that we hadn't turned up with OpenTable, which I had to correct. On the plus side, being able to book online now is an improvement.

I have been here many times before and had another lovely dinner this weekend. As ever the staff were friendly and the food was delicious. I particularly recommend the calamari, paella, olives, bread with tapenade. Highly recommend this restaurant!

La Plancha is the best place to dine or have a relaxing cocktail in Moseley. The service is incredible and the food is amazing and authentic. When we came here, Aaliyah was absolutely incredible with the customer service, and in this restaurant I felt at home. Thank you ❤️❤️

Great meals here’s in the past, but recent experience has put me off and I shall not be coming back. We were sat near the window, so naturally a colder area of the restaurant, yet there was no heating on. Inattentive staff, had to go up to the bar to get a drink. 7 dishes ordered, only 6 delivered and we we’re not offered water for the table, yet could see this was available. Whist the food tasted good, the service was a let down, although an extra tapas was taken off the bill to compensate. Shame as this was one of the go to places in Moseley.

Got told upon sitting down only had 90 mins for table. By the time drinks had arrived and meal order had been taken, we were down to 45 mins. I was still eating when asked to leave the table. Told them that was their problem. No chance of dessert or aperitif. Food was excellent but absolutely outrageous behaviour to take so long to get food out then limit customers to a table. Will never return.

Looking for evening meal we popped in here. We had a number of selections as per the Tapas idea, some were very good some ok. It is worth a visit if you like Tapas but it is not cheap and there are better places to eat

Love this tapas restaurant, great dishes. The chicken in red wine is spicy, the vegetarian paella is a tasty rice dish and the patatas bravas is crispy potatoes in tomato sauce. All fantastic. Lamb koftas are filling and delicious. Best tapas restaurant I have tried.

First visit to La Plancha and will definitely be back. They have a fairly traditional selection of tapas dishes in the standard menu, plus a variety of specials to choose from. We had some excellent chorizo in cider, baked goats cheese, hot honey prawns, anchovies, meatballs, pork loin and paella. Nice small wine list at very reasonable prices. Cocktails looks good, but we didn't try. Excellent value

Great service from the team and warming atmosphere. The food was good quality however small amounts I know tapas is general small portions, but when you paying almost £10 per a dish you should have enough to be able to try a small amount between three. There was three of us we ordered 6 dishes but should of ordered at least 9 so everyone could of had equal amounts.

A lovely little tapas place in the middle of Moseley. Close to the main car park and several nice pubs for pre-meal drinks. Great selection of food, reasonably priced, prepared quickly, very tasty, good cocktail menu. Friendly and helpful staff. Great restaurant.

Lovely food choice this evening but 3 stars because we felt we were pushed to leave the table after 1.5 hrs, not even allowed us to order coffee! If you want a nice long eating period, with friends, forget this place!

I've been quite a few times and always loved it, went last night and the food was beautiful as ever but I found it more expensive and the portions were smaller which tbh was disappointing, I don't mind paying extra but having smaller portions i wasnt too happy about, maybe there trying to claw back some money due to covid but i won't be returning anytime soon,

We came here on the 23/10/20 table for 5. Had a massive selection from the tapas menu and everything was fantastic especially the scallops and the lamb kebabs also the chickpea chorizo and black pudding casserole all so so good . Cocktails were great and service was very good the ladies work very hard up and down those stairs all night they must be knackered at the end of a shift can’t wait to go back

Buen restaurante español auténtico, sin embargo, el servicio podría haber sido mejor. La comida estuvo muy buena. Sin embargo pésimo servicio. La camarera inicial que nos servía era muy pobre. Ella realmente necesita someterse a una formación básica. Ella insistió en que ordenáramos todos nuestros platos de tapas a los 5 minutos de habernos sentado. La razón dada fue que estaban esperando 2 grandes reservas que nunca vimos aparecer. Cada vez que queríamos una bebida o más comida teníamos que llamar a una camarera. Ni una sola vez nos preguntaron si estábamos disfrutando de la comida y las bebidas. Luego nos dijeron que la cocina cierra a las 9. 30 un sábado. Nunca me había encontrado con esto un sábado antes. En general, buena comida pero un servicio impactante por parte de la camarera inicial.

Visité hace un par de semanas aprovechando su oferta de "comer fuera para ayudar" (que fue una ganga completa). Tuvimos una mesa increíble con vistas a la bulliciosa calle principal de Moseley. Las vieiras fueron un punto culminante increíble, solo que, ya que cada plato que comimos fue totalmente inmenso. Comprensiblemente, hubo un poco de espera y un pequeño inconveniente con un plato de gambas, pero no empañó una noche absolutamente increíble. ¡He visitado muchas veces a lo largo de los años y nunca había visto un lunes tan ocupado! El personal fue increíble y se desvivió, todavía muy atento y catering.Felicitaciones a la cocina y al encantador equipo, ¡muchas gracias! Volveremos pronto.

Had a great time last night at La Plancha, perfect for a romantic date. The staff were perfect, especially for sorting us out even though apparently we hadn't booked, and the food was delicious. Thank you!

Teniendo en cuenta todo el drama y el estrés que hay en el mundo en este momento, el personal de La Plancha hizo que nuestra noche fuera tan relajada y despreocupada (a la vez que segura y socialmente distanciada). Servicio amable, atento (pero no intrusivo) y rápido. La comida era de primera categoría e incluso sin el Eat our para ayudar, nuestra oferta habría valido cada centavo. Torpemente, no teníamos dinero en efectivo para la propina, ya que pagamos con tarjeta, por lo que tuvimos que correr por la carretera para retirar el efectivo ya que el personal había hecho que nuestra noche fuera tan maravillosa y regresara. No siempre pague una propina cuando creo que el servicio ha sido adecuado o simplemente indiferente, ¡pero este lugar fue 10/10!

¡Un menú increíble con absolutamente todo lo que puedas imaginar! El servicio fue encantador y lo que fue aún mejor fue la comida. Absolutely great meal here after a few months of lockdown. Great service, a great drinks menu, and ordered an amazing selection of dishes. The gambas pil pil was our favourite dish! We will definitely be back!

A wonderful evening on every visit! The tapas here is amazing, every dish is delicious, hot and plentiful. The cocktails are delicious and freshly made too. The atmosphere here is cosy and relaxed, it invites you to spend a few hours chatting and eating and drinking. The service is always brilliant too.

Turned up without booking, not recommended. But we were looked after and served with a smile to the best tapas. Quality and quantity were excellent They tasted delicious and the variety was great. We also treated ourselves to great cocktails. All that and a lovely atmosphere.

Another thoroughly enjoyable meal of good food. Good service too. Last Plancha was vibrant tonight. Full of people enjoying a good selection of excellent dishes.

Quirky restaurant with the best tapas I've ever had and I've been to Spain! The cocktails are also excellent quality and if you go between 6 and 7pm they are all a fiver. Buzzing atmosphere. A must visit.

Estaba destinado a celebrar a mis hijas el día 25 con 16 familiares y amigos. Solo llamé para resolver el pago del depósito y me dijeron que la reserva había sido cancelada. Absolutamente furioso! Me dijeron que no tenían un número para contactarme, ¡pero nunca pidieron uno en primer lugar! Me dijeron esta noche que era por orden de llegada.Qué lástima. Me encantó el lugar hasta que hayan hecho esto. Servicio al cliente repugnante!

Came with a party of 20 which cannot be easy for staff. Despite large numbers the service was good and were able to do separate bills!! The food was ok but not hot enough - difficult with large parties. Not sure if it’s the place I would want to return to with friends?

Tuve una gran noche aquí en una cita. Ambiente agradable con un personal muy amable y acogedor (agradece a Robyn, que fue muy atento). Algunas de las mejores tapas que he probado. Varios platos ordenados con el chorizo, el garbanzo y la cazuela de morcilla como punto culminante, junto con los champiñones salteados y alioli sobre pan ciabatta tostado. No puedo recomendar lo suficiente. De seguro regresará

Reservé esto para mi hermana, ya que hemos estado muchas veces antes y siempre es un éxito. El restaurante está en 3 pisos, nos sentamos en el piso superior, no el mejor ya que los baños están literalmente con baño. El servicio en el piso superior también es un poco más lento. El piso medio es el mejor, la cocina se encuentra allí. La comida siempre es genial. Esta vez pedimos la cantidad correcta: hacer pedidos en exceso es fácil. Los cócteles también son buenos. El personal en general es muy educado e involucra a un profesional, pero en esta ocasión un par estaba un poco alejado, de ahí el promedio. Volveremos y espero que se hayan animado para entonces.

6pm on a Saturday evening, no reservation but were squeezed in. Staff very helpful. Good vegetarian choice, beware portions are large. Place full by 7pm with couples, families, groups plus people at the bar. Vibrant friendly atmosphere. We have not been here for about two years. Good standard has been maintained.

Solo quería decir que mi novia y yo vinimos el sábado pasado y, aparte de 1 plato, 6 ordenaron (albóndigas que no estaban calientes, tibias) todos los otros platos estaban en punto.

Esta fue nuestra primera visita a este restaurante, cuando llegamos nos llevaron rápidamente a nuestra mesa. El servicio fue rápido y muy amable. Una vez que habíamos pedido, la comida llegó rápidamente y también era agradable y cálida.

I haven’t been here for a long time, but popped in after Folk Festival. Tapas was still very tasty and classic choices were great too. Fast service and helpful staff. Would recommend if in Moseley

So my daughter got her A level results today and secured a place at Cambridge to study Law. To celebrate, we went to La Plancha, looking forward to tapas and cocktails. On ordering, I was told the cocktails we had chosen were not available as they had no raspberries. I checked whether that was the only missing ingredient and was advised it was, so I offered to pop over to the Co-op or Sainsbury’s - less than 20 metres away - to buy some. To my surprise, the barman said no “I’d rather not”. No reasonable or radical explanation as to why. It just appeared he blatantly didn’t want my business. So we left without any purchase. Just odd to me when I was willing to buy the raspberries at my own expense. So we decamped and went to Sorrento Lounge who were happy to serve us cocktails with raspberries and tapas with a much more friendly countenance. Shame on La Plancha but you weren’t going to spoil our celebration today. Moseley has a vast array of restaurants and pubs serving great food. I’m surprised you can afford to turn away custom without any decent explanation.

A big family gathering - 9 of us in total - so we were given the room at the top of the stairs. The food and service were excellent - the staff were helpful and their timing was perfect, leaving is alone to get on with eating and chatting, being there when we needed extra water or drinks, and taking a family photo just before we left.

Having booked last minute on a Friday evening I was expecting a super busy restaurant with slow service. I was utterly shocked to find the total opposite. The guys in there were friendly, helpful and totally honest. The service was fast and the food full of flavour! Having been before, I took my Mother and she adored it! We had a great evening and really enjoyed ourselves. Definitely not one to miss!

We visited this restaurant on recommendation of friends and we were not disappointed. The food is superb and the atmosphere is very nice and you feel like in Spain. Staff is super friendly and give good recommendations for dishes to choose. Nice cocktails as well!

¡Celebrando a mis hijos en la calle 21 y mi 52 en el mismo día! Quería algo un poco peculiar y diferente. . ¡No me decepcionó! Gran bienvenida, encantadora mesa cómoda y con ganas de agradar al personal. Vino a un precio razonable y la comida era excelente. . Calientes bocaditos de pan y queso con jamón serrano. . Delicioso para abrir el apetito. Tuvimos 12 platos de tapas para 5 de nosotros, fresco y sabroso. Boccorone. . ¡Nos encantan las anchoas! ! Nos hizo salivar. . Partiendo hacia albóndigas, patatas bravas y tortilla. . Tapas básicas básicas. . Luego se deleita con langostinos, vieiras y calamares. Gran valor en 115 por 5. . . que incluía cerveza, botella de Sauvignon en blanco y refrescos. ¡Estaremos de vuelta! ! !

Mi esposa y yo tenemos dos niños pequeños, de 2 años y de 8 meses de edad, así que, como pueden imaginar, nuestras salidas nocturnas son raras y queremos aprovechar al máximo la noche. Contratamos a una niñera y reservamos una mesa en La Plancha. El restaurante tiene un ambiente animado pero agradable y desde el momento en que entramos hasta el momento en que nos fuimos nos cuidaron. Pedimos 3 platos cada uno y compartimos toda la comida. Cada plato estaba perfectamente preparado con un montón de sabor. Tuvimos un (enorme) desierto cada uno, que era tan sabroso como la comida principal. No fue una comida barata, sin embargo, me pareció una buena relación calidad-precio, ya que el servicio era excelente y la comida era de primera categoría.

Solo quería enviarte un agradecimiento masivo por tener nuestra fiesta de los 16 el viernes. He estado organizando eventos sociales varias veces al año durante años y debo decir que su organización y el personal fueron los mejores que hemos tenido y, por supuesto, la comida y el tamaño de las porciones fueron increíbles. We visited on Sunday (Bank Holiday Weekend) we made a booking before arriving as we knew it was going to be busy upon arrival.

A real delight. At some places we visit early, they are not fully ready. Here we found excellent, friendly, timely and entertaining service. The food was lovely - especially the lamb brochetas and the sweet chilli peppers. As for the cocktails (here my memory becomes a little vague) do try the Chilli Rocks - sublime.

Soy un cliente habitual en la Plancha, así que el servicio que recibimos en nuestra noche de fiesta no fue una sorpresa, el personal es excepcional, nada era un problema. Estábamos en el piso superior y un miembro del personal estaba constantemente subiendo y bajando las escaleras preguntándonos si estábamos bien para las bebidas, nos ofrecimos bajar y comprar nuestras propias bebidas, pero el personal dijo que no había ningún problema.

Excellent staff. So friendly. Tapas fantastic. Atmosphere wonderful. Has a holiday feel to it. Soft salsa tunes. Great drink selection. Try the quesadillas, pork, chicken, calamari dishes. Loads of food and a glass of wine each 50 quid bill. Love this place.

He estado en La Plancha en numerosas ocasiones en el pasado y soy un gran fanático del lugar: la comida, el servicio y el ambiente siempre han sido excelentes. Sin embargo anoche estuvimos muy decepcionados.

Arrived as a group of 4 without a booking last night but got seated straight away followed up by excellent service.

Amazing food and the service was brilliant unlike other places in the area. Lamb chops are brilliant.

Slightly dodgy start with slightly poor customer service but beyond that a wonderful night & if focusing on the quality of the food, the zero complaints there.

This felt like a very authentic experience, I say that because when I reflected on it, I realized I'd never actually eaten "indoors" in Spain, I've always been fortunate to go al fresco! Anyway that aside, La Plancha really proved very good for a party of 4 on a Tuesday evening. It wasn't especially busy though I imagine it can be. There are some nice touches, like the blackboard on your table with a personal reservation.

Taken by family as a birthday treat, and my what a treat it was. Table booked and ready on time, lovely window seat upstairs overlooking Moseley high street. Cocktails ordered and were by far the best I have ever tasted in this country. Tapas dishes chosen, slightly over ordered as portions were quite large but absolutely beautiful, staff and service was exceptional. Enjoyed so much we have booked to go again taking two friends with us, booked on line and again couldn’t fault the service, replied within minutes and it was a Sunday afternoon. Thank you

1st time to this restaurant & we weren’t disappointed. Had a great seat overlooking Moseley & were served drinks pretty much straight away. Went for 5 tapas between the two of us , which was just enough & every meal came out together which we were impressed with. I would definitely recommend the pil pil prawns or the stuffed mushrooms equally just as good as each other . . Service was great , with the waitress always friendly & engaging & overall fab might &will; definitely be returning.

Me and bf visited for valentines meal, was seated upstairs promptly, the place is massive inside, looks so small from the outside. Ordered drinks and food together, cocktail was lovely and quite strong. The food arrived quick, we ordered 6 dishes, they were big for tapas. The meatballs and the lamb koftas were our favourites, beautiful.reasonable prices as well, for 6 dishes and drinks 39 pounds. Will be back soon to try 6 different dishes.

Having visited this restaurant on many occasions for cocktails and tapas, we decided to pay another visit after a matinee visit to the theatre. I booked a table for 7.30, when we arrived the restaurant was half empty, I did not like the table we were given, it was upstairs, next to the main entrance, I asked the waitress if we could have another table and she just replied that they were fully booked,. We were about to leave, and the lovely waitress from downstairs found us a more suitable table. We ordered drinks and seven dishes between the two of us, all the dishes arrived within ten minutes, so they must have been cooked in advance! We have visited many Spanish cities, and had tapas in most of them, and hot tapas is usually served as it is cooked, leisurely allowing you to enjoy your evening. Having said that I could not fault the food, or the service downstairs, however will probably only ever return for excellent cocktails.

Love this little gem (and it has an upstairs, so it's not as little as it seems). Perfect sized tapas portions, with garlic a plenty - just the way I like it. Totally recommend La Plancha (except if it's a hot day, as upstairs can get really hot, but the team do well to cool you down with fans). Looking forward to return again soon. Great place for tapas. Food always excellent every time we go. Staff very good. Celebrated a special birthday there and we had a private dinner to ourselves ( 15).would definitely recommend.

I had my 50th at la plancha which i loved x returned for our Christmas party in private dining area x if anything food had got even better and service was fantastic x enjoyed so much returning this evening to celebrate New Year 🎉

Had a great tapas meal here, has all the standards and enough vegetarian dishes to satisfy. Would recommend booking in advance as I noticed almost all tables were reserved.

Chose to visit based on a recommendation and not dissapointed. Had a table for 2 in the bar which was nice and busy but not surrounded. We picked about 8 dishes and bread assuming portions were similar to previous experience of Tapas but our lovely waitress was very quick to point out that the portions were probably bigger than we were expecting so we cut out a couple of dishes, a wise decision. Food arrived promptly and was amazing, this is definitely a case of quantity and quality, scallops and Calamari were particularly good but so was everything really. Will definitely be back.
