A small pub for after work drinks with a very good menu of premium ales and decent finger food. Didn't try the full menu but felt promising.

Just had the most amazing whitebait ever! Great Fullers beers as well.

We visited this pub many years ago, and have spent far too long trying to find it again. But today we did! We won. It's in an area that you can wander and find much randomness including the Cockpit pub, a lovely church and is within a nice stroll to the St Paul's area

What a great find! Nice atmosphere and staff.

Overall a nice place with good service. It was clear that the staff cared. I had a burger with fries. Both the burger and the fries were great, but it lacked a bit finesse; why not add some coleslaw or a tomato (for colour if nothing else). Get a small container for the fries and work a bit with presentation and it would be a 5-star.

Expensive and bad food. Dont take clients there

A regular local Pub with known beers and preferred for after work drinks. Nice menu and friendly service as well.

I can only comment on the drinks as I have not had any food, yet. Great place to go for a post work drink, some fantastic guest ales. You have to try Red Fox.

A quirky atmosphere because of the surroundings but pleasant with helpful staff. We only had drinks.

Great place to meet friends and catchup

Great place for lunch and glass of wine. Enjoyed our recent visit. Service was exceptional. Nice place to enjoy a bit of a break from our walk about.

A grand little pub tucked away around the corner in the city, which means it wasn't crazy packed. They do nice bar snacks too, to help bridge the time to dinner.

City pub, pricey, not bad but nothing special

I have a lot of allergies and they made extra sure that my food was safe. That level of care is so rare and I appreciated it so much! The food was delicious, too. And while we were in the restaurant, we got to see the wonderfully talented bartender draw St. Paul’s Cathedral in chalk on the specials board. Highly recommend this place - great energy, lovely people, tasty food, amazing service.

My go-to stop for lunch and a pint. Staff friendly and good food. Bit quieter as well which makes it a more relaxed venue compared to others.

Quick helpful service. Not overpriced (for London).

Food was outstanding, including the fish and chips, which was a surprise. She busy day was wonderful as well. Service was a little slow, but the food was worth it.

Nice and friendly but the food is overpriced and dreadful. I had warmed up chicken on a bed of cold lentils with cuttings of kale - it was gritty and tasted like it was prepared 2 days ago. My friend ordered a burger - this was warmed up too with a square of cheese that barely existed. It had a soft cold bun. It was served with a small handful of chips. The cost was £15 for the burger and £18 for the warmed up chicken. I’d suggest taking the short walk anywhere else than here if you’re hungry.

Nice pub in central London location. I did book a space for 20 but only got a small area which was a shame as the pub was booked but otherwise it was fine.

Busy expensive city pub. Nothing special but not bad.

Other better pubs in very close proximity. Didn’t even get served a decent pint. Shame.

A favorite of mine, you can book a space for an event or drop by for a drink. It is lively and often crowded with people spilling onto the street.

Eravamo in due. Abbiamo mangiato dal menù e bevuto birra. E sapete cosa è stato veramente eccezionale? Il personale: eravamo gli unici a mangiare ( era tardi), probabilmente non torneremo più ( siamo in una fuga del fine settimana) ma hanno fatto di tutto con il cuore per farci stare bene, e ci sono riusciti. Trovato per caso e piacevole sorpresa questo locale si trova nelle vicinanze della Cattedrale di St. Paul. Birra buona. Hamburger vegetariano molto buono. Servizio cortese e rapido. Prezzo onesto.

Bit pricey, but kinda expected.

I originally found out about this pub after being stuck on a train out West a few years ago - one of my fellow commuters happened to be the pub manager. I visited Shaw's recently and found it to be a lovely place - nicely tucked away in a great area of London, but still quite busy for midweek. Beer selection great (I think I drank Hophead - maybe a guest ale - which is low percentage but high on flavour), and bar snacks delicious,especially the truffle / garlic chips which are dangerously addictive 😏. Was lovely to meet the manager too - well done Sidonie (apologies if I've spelt your name wrong) and your staff 👏🏽

Good solid pub, light and bright at the front, more intimate at the back.

The music is too loud inside. I saw negroni for £14, is it a bucket or what? Otherwise, it's a good drinking place and space outside to stand.

We have a monthly drinks here. It's a nice pub with a good selection of beers on tap. It gets pretty packed during the week but you can drink outside on the street.

Shaws Booksellers… I won’t even try to explain the name, but I enjoyed this pub without a bookmark, but with a fork and knife on a pork chop special with a Meantime Ale. The service was good, not great, but very friendly. The food and drink were very good. Prices were standard London pub prices, so a bit high. The décor is classic British pub, though brightly lit at noon, with a curious iron beam overhead. Interesting.

Very accommodating establishment. Kitchen was closing but still made me my lunch. Shepards pie was amazing! Serving staff very well mannered and friendly. After I had finished I was asked if I enjoyed my meal. And was offered coffee or whether I’d like another drink. Brilliant service well done

Surprisingly quiet this evening. Good quality beers from fuller's. Very handy for trains, despite being tucked away in a side street.

Always a pleasure to pop in to Shaws for a beer or a bite to eat, friendly welcome in an authentic premises.

Came here for dinner in the evening but really disappointing menu, just burgers or fish & chips. Considering the website has such a rich menu & pictures, doesn't mention that this is basically lunch only. Nice location and lots of beers on offer, but be warned they are not cheap! Good enough boozer for the area, but avoid for dinner.

Noisy and cramped plus expensive

It's small and VERY popular by the staffs in the area. So it's loud and if you have a group of people, you will need to book to guarantee a table. Or as a matter of fact, somewhere to stand.... it's normal to see huge crowd was actually staying outside and having their drinks. Would not recommend going there if you want a conversation without involving yelling...and as most people WFH on Friday, now Thursday is the new Friday in the city...

I really like Shaws. It's kinda trendy bar being a bit rustic and sawdust type of place. But a really good range of beers and drinks. Plenty of space to spread out and great bar staff!

During a recent trip to London, we visited twice, once just for drinks. We ended up being the last customers (at 9 pm!) but were encouraged to stay - no sudden calling of Last Orders! We'd enjoyed it, so went again, this time for a meal. Both times, we were served by Marubia, and her manner and attitude added to our enjoyment of the evening. Both of us enjoyed the food, and the prices were good value compared to other places we saw. Would definitely go again.

After being almost driven out from the adjacent pub just down the street, we came I; here for several pints and some food. Very welcoming to a corner table. Started with an excellent IPA with the hummus and the crispy Norfolk chicken wings. Followed with three or four more pints. Staff and neighbouring drinkers could not have been more affable and helpful. Really liked the ales too. Three hours later, the place still buzzing with post work drinkers and passers by. If down this way wouldn’t hesitate to come in again.

What a wonderful little place. We had passed this place before, it had always been very busy so never got the chance to get in, but post COVID we got a table no problems and enjoyed a few drinks and some very good food, do they the triple cooked chips! Lovely staff, Amia (hope we spelt that correctly) was wonderful, and spent a little time to talk with us when she could. If you get chance do visit, it's well worth it.

Good beer, lively crowd, a proper pub

We held a private event here on a Saturday evening recently. The staff were all incredibly helpful. All of our guests commented on what a hidden gem it was. Versatile layout and great character. On a Saturday we were able to have the entire venue, which in central London is a rarity.

Awesome little pub found on hidden side streets not far from st Paul's cathedral and Blackfriars tube station. Good spot in the summer to stand outside for a drink. Lovely atmosphere and quirky decor inside the pub. Plenty of tables for sit down dining, making it a good spot for lunch during the week. A Fuller's pub, they have a good selection of beers, ciders, wine and spirits.

My wife and I ate here while staying close by at Wardrobe Place. Like most pubs, it was noisy and very busy, so difficult to have a conversation. The table we were given wasn’t the most desirable, but the food we had was very good, service friendly and prompt. We enjoyed our meal.

Always like this place. Good cosy atmosphere, friendly staff and good choice of food, wine and beer. I particularly liked their Christmas decorations this year. I would recommend this place for a casual lunch and drinks after work.

A fairly quiet back Street pub which is popular with anyone who might be lucky enough to find it. Been past dozens of times before realising it was here. Has 2 Fuller's real ales including London Pride. Very comfortable. Worth seeking out.

Really weird experience, leading to two of us forking out £40 for a lunch where we both left as hungry as we arrived. The menu we were given was British “nose to tail” specialities. Ox cheek or liver seemed a bit heavy duty for lunch but we ordered ham hock and a turbot - the best options from a bad choice. We waited over 40 minutes (making us late back to the office) while other tables who arrived after us were served and left. We noticed they were eating such things as burgers or fish & chips that were not on our menu. Eventually the food arrived. My £17 turbot was the size of my palm and disappeared in a few bites. The ham hock was incredibly salty. After a tasting, neither of us could eat it. Sides of chips were also liberally covered in salt. (A heavy handed chef - thanks, but I can salt my own food.) “Poisonous” was my comment to the server. She took one portion away and replaced it with unsalted chips. You might also ask why I had to order sides with a tiny lunchtime main that cost £17? I know I did. After an hour our bill had no adjustments for the delay, or uneaten ham hock nor did we receive any decent apology. We asked about the alternate menu and were eventually told - after an incomprehensible story about it being Tuesday - that it was on the blackboard. I looked and saw two blackboards - neither had a menu on it. We left with the bar staff seeming to look at us as if we were trouble makers, or weird for ordering from the offbeat menu. Is there a hidden code we were unaware off to get a quick, good value meal in here like most other customers were enjoying? I assume regulars know the trick but no danger of me becoming one on this showing. I imagine I’ll be up tonight drinking water after the salt overload. A lunchtime meal to remember for all the wrong reasons.

For Fuller's pub, the choice of beer and staff knowledge in them is somewhat lacking. Only good thing is that it's quite quiet in the evening.

Really delicious Black Pudding Scotch Egg at this pub which also does nose to tail beef / pork on certain nights. My preference is a soft yolk, but the flavor was still really good. The sausage roll was decent - but for a great one go down the block to Grace.

Good beer, great food in a lively setting. Love this place, but don't be in a rush. Service staff works hard.

We booked this place for a Saturday night and had an absolutely fantastic time. Food, beer and atmosphere were all fantastic and the staff couldn't have been nicer.

One of my favourites in the area, good place for a drink after work and not a bad choice for a quick pub lunch. Can be a bit understaffed at lunch, best to book on the phone!

Great Fullers bar/restaurant. Always enjoy a visit there.

I love this pub. Staff are quick and friendly, the food is yummy, the wines and beers are Good, and they have Scampi fries!! Nice layout inside (although it can get a bit crowded on busy days), and space to safely congregate outside, this is a nicely hidden gem that I have gone to for many years.
