Really tasty food for a good price, will come back again. We ordered the special mixed grill and it fed our family of three.

I was not expecting this... I got inside of Ahmed place expecting to eat a shawarma. I’ve ordered a mix big one with everything in it. After my first bite I was not in Reading anymore… I have been teleported to the birthplace of this famous dish: Síria. I can’t describe in words how delicious it was. so good that I finished one big one and have ordered another big one to takeaway. Definitely the best shawarma I’ve ever had in my life. Thank you so much Ahmed because you brought to the UK the real and original Shawarma giving me and all the community of Reading the privilege to taste this amazing sirian food. I definitely recommend it to go there have a first one and then order a second one to take away because it’s too good and you Really want to have it again.

Had the chicken shawarma wrap a couple of times for my lunches at work. The taste is very good and the quality of the meat never disappoints. The place is always clean and the customer service is very good.

Visited here yesterday and am so pleased to say that we finally have an authentic shawarma spot in Reading! It took me right back to my days in the Middle East and I would absolutely recommend it. Sorry I don't know the name of the person who made my wrap but he was very friendly and customer service was excellent. They even had the right spicy sauce which was just an added bonus!

The guy serving me was really authentically friendly. And the falafel wrap was delicious and great value at only a fiver. I'd really recommend this place.

I chose the lamb option, and it was hot and spicey. Not disappointed, ideal for a cold day to get you warmed up from the inside.

The chicken shawarma sandwich was delicious. We got the combo with a drink and spiced chips. It’s a great deal for £8. The veg was fresh and crisp and the spicy sauce is wonderful. The man serving was so nice too.

Been to this shawarma shop recently and tried the Mixed shawarma, nice and authentic taste , friendly shop owner, definitely recommend if you are nearby, fries with spices on the top is good too.

This is takeaway place and they do eat in too. I ordered a chicken shawarma and I must say I love it. There was a lot of chicken on the wrap. The owner/ the person who makes those shawarmas is warm, friendly and gives everyone his undivided attention. Thank you .

I recently visited this takeaway in Reading, hoping to relive the delightful flavors of the Middle East with their chicken shawarma. Unfortunately, my experience left me disappointed, as the quality of the dish fell far short of my expectations. It was disappointing not to have the vibrant blend of spices that typically characterizes a delicious shawarma. Texture also plays a significant role in a satisfying shawarma experience, and regrettably, this takeaway failed in that regard as well. The chicken lacked the desirable tenderness and juiciness that should accompany a well-prepared shawarma. It felt dry and lacked the succulence I had come to expect from similar dishes I had tried in the Middle East. What added to my disappointment was the fact that this particular takeaway is one of only a few in Reading that offers Middle Eastern shawarma. I had high hopes for an authentic and flavorsome experience, but unfortunately, it fell far short of the mark. Overall, my experience at this takeaway was underwhelming. The chicken shawarma lacked the distinctive flavor and texture that make this dish so enjoyable. Given the limited options for Middle Eastern shawarma in Reading, it is regrettable that this particular takeaway did not deliver a more satisfying experience. *Update post takeaways response: I'm sorry you've taken my review so badly but it is 'my review' Shawarma originates from the 'region' that is the Eastern Mediterranean and I can tell you that there is no Original Syrian/Lebanese way. From takeaway to takeaway each has their own unique point of difference, especially the most popular ones (nothing to do with the country). I have eaten more shawarmas than I care to count (I don't ever do Frozen Doner meat) and honestly, yours ranks near the bottom! Surprising really given it is such a basic product. I have eaten Shawarma in Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt, Israel/Palestine and the UAE but the best were at a place in Tripoli Lebanon and an Arab joint in Haifa Israel. Don't be so sour at taking criticism, you're a takeaway sandwich vendor not a restaurant chef!

The chicken bites with pickles and pomegranate were delicious, and there is a homely feel to the restaurant. You can tell that these people take pride in what they do, would definitely recommend 👌🏾

The shawarma was nice but I didn’t like the service. I was standing there for about 15 mins and the person behind was served first as he was a friend of the owner. Not only that, the owner was chatting away so much and rushing to make his friends order that he didn’t even do my order properly missed a few things that I wanted. All I would say is your food is good but please treat all customers the same way. Doesn’t matter if you know the person, you shouldn’t prioritise your friends over waiting customers.
