Not the best with plenty other curry houses much better. Think it has changed hands as food used to be really good but now it has went down hill

What a lovely curry house food was lovely one of the best currys I've had and was so polite definitely recommending 100%lovely staff realy welcoming told us all about the food thanks shapla.

Had a handi gosht and veg rice last week. First time iv had this and it was delicious.

The food, service, and atmosphere were absolutely lovely. It was our first night out in 6 months, and we couldn't have chosen a better place! The service was perfect, the food was served beautifully and was delicious, hot, and tasty. The drinks and atmosphere were just right.

I booked online and quickly got a reply, confirming my reservation. The table was ready on time. The service was great, with friendly and knowledgeable staff suggesting a dish combination for my partner. The food arrived promptly, freshly cooked, and matched our expectations.

Ive not been in this restaurant for over 5 years. OMG what have I been missing out on. Absolutely lovely delicious food. Staff friendly & very welcoming. Definitely will be returning soon. Great little restaurant & will definitely recommend to others.

Helpfull staff but my food quite bland lacked ingredients compared to previous visits

The superior service of the chefs and staff of this restaurant are second to none I have been a customer since I was 17 I am 46 now, the food is beautiful and absolutely outstanding and the service is perfection, when you come for a meal here you will always be happy to go back x

Enjoyed a lamb tikka balti, friendly staff.

Very tasty food, decent wine (especially the rose) and well priced. Good range of dishes and nice decor. Lovely waiter- friendly, helpful and ensured all our requests were met (especially for me, no evil coriander leaf 😁). Some parking available outside, free after 6pm

First time back here for 28 years! We had a mix of starters / mains and all of them were fresh, beautifully cooked and absolutely delicious. Great service all round so thanks to all.

One word Awlful, samosas looked see through and tasted dry, chicken pakora well where was the chicken, mint dip is a vanilla yogurt . Friends said shapla had improved well definitely never again.

Have eaten here nearly a dozen times in the last two years. Service is friendly and efficient. Food is genuinely superb! Never a bad dish. It is my in-laws local. Always a warm welcome.

Food was mediocre but service was terrible by short Nepal guy did not want to listen to customer feedback even tho told him how wrong he was .shapla was recommended to us it would be in a hurry to go back !

Good profesional waiter-he knows about the food and ingredients and adjusted my meal, food was good and cooked correctly and the basmati was fresh + not sticky, beer is good, friendly service. I may be biased, I love Indian food.

Went to the Shapla with friends on January 15th 2022, so there were 12 of us, for a 60th Birthday meal, arrived by 7.30pm, sorted our drinks at the bar, we were seated. It took the staff till 9pm to actually acknowledge us, their main focus is on the Take Away side of the business , we stayed because obs it was a Birthday celebration but the service I have to say was dire, quite embarrassing when you invite people to eat there who've never been before, we had mains at 10pm, the food was not the greatest either, felt ignorned and the quality of both service and food has really declined, won't be using this restaurant again, not even for take away.

Booked a Christmas Day lunch at this small restaurant, very attentive staff, good food at an excellent price . Would definitely recommend 👌 Thank you for looking after us so well, the brandy and coffee just finished the meal off

1st time here tonight. Really good food. I was an early customer, got there about 5.45, polite and efficient service and as I say, great grub. I will call in next time I'm this way working again.

Great meal last night. First time we've been since the refurb which has improved the surroundings big time. The food, service and value for money were as excellent as ever. Strongly recommended

Had take aways and sit in both equal quality

Don't know why people have given this place 5 stars, it's not great. Delivery took over an hour and half to come. Ordered a chicken pathia which was basically some extremely dry chicken boiled in a tin of tomatoes, no spices except maybe a little chilli powder to give it some heat. Pakoras were dry, even the dog struggled with one. The egg in my fried rice was burnt and had turned into a plastic like material. I honestly could've (and have) done better myself. Given a star because the naan was nice. I have been testing the Indians around shirley & solihull and this is the worst so far. The best I've found is spice club in Solihull but they're expensive if you don't pick it up yourself and I couldn't be bothered - stupid mistake on my behalf but you live & learn I guess.

Food was delicious, delivery was on time and food was freshly cooked and hot.

Awful service!!! Never order takeaway from them as they arrive at least 1 hour late, COLD, tasteless and are rude when they call! I will never eat here again!!!! THE WORST INDIAN RESTAURANT IN BIRMINGHAM + SOLIHULL, AVOID AVOID AVOID. Order vegetable vindaloo, not spicy at all, rogan josh (had better out of a jar) naan, cold tasteless and rice... which was also nothing special!

I've been dining here for a number of years, if not a decade or so..!! As of recent visits their menu and chefs' quality has surpassed expectation..! For both vegetarian and meat/fish choices there's aplenty! And portions are generous with a reasonable price reflected too..! Definitely worth a visit. Highly recommended especially for early dining times..!!

Me and my friend plus daughter been coming here a few years now and I can not fault the food the service is bang on come to think of it I have never had a bad curry from the shapla. My daughter loves the samos she won't eat them from any ware else so keep up the good work lads I wouldn't go anywhere else for a Cury 10 out of 10 good work.
