Ordered chicken Jalfrezi , Keema Naan and pilau rice. Food was great plenty of different flavours in the chicken Jalfrezi and very authentic. Will definitely order again 👍

I live in London, but every time I go through midlands, I try and get a curry. This time I was lucky to stop by at Janaki. The food was very authentic, and the place was spotless. Tarun and Linda were really friendly. I've bookmarked this for all future midlands curry stopovers.

Never ordered from here before but won’t be again. Disappointed with both meals…my Jalfrezi sauce was thin and poor and my wife’s meal much the same. Service and delivery were good but not a good meal. Had better from Sainsbury’s and Aldi…no good Indian takeaways anymore.

Very disappointing meal. Curry sauce very inauthentic, bit gloopy. Poppadoms dry & tasteless & chutneys a disappointment. No salad with Baji starter. Won't be revisiting. I gave 3 for service as greeted by a very lovely Italian hostess who was most accommodating whilst we waited for our order.

Authentic Indian food is difficult to come by. We decided late on Friday evening that we wanted go go out for a meal. Twelve of us, a mix of all ages announced our arrival at Janki. Being a vegetarian, I'm always sceptical about the choices that are available. It's common to find the veg dishes being an afterthought. I was reassured by Tarun (owner), that he too was vegetarian. The first thing we noticed about the restaurant was it's cleanliness. The spotless mirrors were a good sign. The staff were friendly and helpful. Tarun took a seat at our table and greeted us in person. We had a four starters, each different and flavoursome. It wasn't the same gravy repurposed for a selection of dishes. For the mains, we actually over ordered given how generous the portion sizes were, but we were not complaining! The dishes again were well cooked and clearly fresh. It's not often that the selection of breads are done to a good standard, for example, the naan was the right thickness and not stodgy. As far as staff go, we had the pleasure of being served by friendly, professional and enthusiastic staff. They were engaging, took time to understand preferences and even went as far as to recommend dishes. Our curious five year old was intrigued to see what was going on in the kitchen, and so, he was taken in to say hello (at a distance of course!). It was clear that the cleanliness and friendliness extended to the kitchen, and the food was being prepared to order. It was a random find, thanks to a Google search, but we were all genuinely impressed, including Dad, who's a hard man to pleased! Thank you Tarun and team Janki!

Ordered through deliveroo for delivery. Food was fresh hot and above all TASTY. Really delicious couldn’t fault it. Will defo be ordering again and might have to visit the restaurant itself soon.

We celebrated our son's 21st Birthday at Janaki. Tarun and all the staff were very welcoming and the food was absolutely delicious. All the family had a fantastic time and said this was a hidden gem in Dickens Heath. Thank you so much to you all. We will definitely be back again for many more celebrations.

Best food ever! This is the 1st time I went to this restaurant in the Solihull area. I have to say, the cheese and garlic naans are yummy followed by the lamb curry it was delicious. Would love to go there again. 😊

Very disappointed with the delivery. Said 20 min but has now taken them 1.5 hours and still no food. No offer of discount !!!! Think twice before ordering from here.

My god! Ordered from here tonight for the first time after moving to the area ,absolutely incredible food I honestly rate the whole experience way higher than a 10/10!! Food was sooo tasty and fresh and the delivery man (only young) was so polite and friendly!! I will not go anywhere else now! No photos as I ate the lot 🤣🤣🤣

My partner and I eat from Janaki regularly and absolutely love the food from there. You can really taste the freshness of the ingredients, the food is never oily or salty and their use of herbs and spices create an extra layer of flavour unlike any other restaurant in the area. We mainly take away but have eaten in the restaurant on numerous occasions, and have always found it to be a very enjoyable experience. Highly recommended!

Favourite Indian restaurant in Solihull area! Chicken Tikka Masala is always superb and other curries are delicious too. Fresh ingredients, nice atmosphere, service is good and the owner is fun to talk to! Can’t stay away from their tasty food so we visit once a week.

You pay for what you get. Great staff fantastic location and the food well you'll have to see 😉 once you have been you will always go back. 5 stars from me a 10/10. Excellent.

I’ve lived in Dickens Heath for 3 years and only recently tried this Indian Restaurant during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown. It’s quite simply ace! The food ingredients are fresh, non greasy, good portions, well cooked and made to order. I can’t wait until things return to normal to experience their in house dining! I like my curries and would definitely recommend this place. Friendly excellent service. Can not fault.

Inviting image .. a friend popped in for a takeaway £25 meal for the both of us & threw in the change too , disappointingly salad comes in just a pot with just 5 carrot slices 3 cucumber 1 piece of tomato and a slice of lemon , (between 2 of us ) said he’d throw in some mint sauce but nothing.. lamb jalfrezi tasted ok with exception awful taste chunks of lamb meat- a rude customer slipped his hands down the bag,” before walking out ;quite pricey there are much better Indian restaurants in Shirley elsewhere , otherwise was entertained by jovial manager looked like a cosy atmospheric place..

We usually go to Giovanni's when in Dickens Heath, but as we also frequently visit "Indian Restaurants" were tempted by the authentic label. Arrived at 7.20 for 7.30, food arrived at 9.15. The food is bland. We were excused the cost of the starter because of the delay, still £80 for two meals with drinks. Ruchie in Shirley is in a similar price range, mid band, but superb "family" cooked food, with outstanding service. In my view, and based on my experience, go to Ruchie instead.

Lovely food! We came in on Christmas week and wasn't told it was a set menu but they let us have what we wanted and the service was excellent

This is our go to takeaway and we can't fault it. Even as far as when I call to say I've dropped one curry once I've got home, they got a new one ready for collection in minutes. Lovely staff, brilliant service, incredible food. Boyfriends only request is that they add Dhansak to the menu.

Always have the same take away, enjoy every time. Also appreciate the mini tub of salad- makes me feel healthy :)

After seeing reviews for this place I wanted to go to get my own opinion. With it being my wife's birthday it was the perfect opportunity to go. Arrived and welcomed in. Place is not big but nice size for it's location and has a decent amount of room for guests coming in as a 4. I'm sure bigger sizes can be accommodated too. Ordered drinks and food which all came in good time. Food was cooked well, spices for each dish was just right. Although there isn't a kids menu the korma was bang on for them. Will go back again to try something different, good value for money and the portion sizes were perfect.

Expensive! You do get what you pay for though. It's got a lovely selection of curries. The staff are... Alright. I think they should reduce the prices of you're planning on take away

The quality and taste of the food in this restaurant is at least two steps up from typical restaurants. This makes it a night out and not a curry night. Nice touches pleasant staff and some unusual tasty options on the menu.

Although the balti tasted nice as usual the last few times I’ve ordered a take away the chicken has been tough, not nice to eat hard tough chicken especially when the prices are so high

Beautifully cooked and presented food but unfortunately the restaurant was empty (8pm on a weeknight) when we visited so it lacked the warm atmosphere we had hoped for and all felt a bit "flat". The Member of staff on duty was friendly and attentive but refused to honour the special offer that is advertised on their own website which was disappointing. Quality of food and ingredients is clearly good but old fashioned ideas like charging extra for a tiny chutney tray to go with already expensive poppadoms and starters seems petty. Would we visit again? Maybe due to the excellent quality of main course but only on a weekend or if there was a group of us to create our own atmosphere.

First time visit and will definitely return. Great food and service. The murgh tikka and garlic mushroom stir fry was fantastic.

We visited tonight as never been before and there was a Very friendly service and lovely food. The portions were just right, so we felt satisfied but not over indulged. Drinks are a bit pricey as with most places, but not allowed to bring your own. So it can work out quite expensive. But defo worth a visit as a treat now and again. Would defo recommend it.

The food was freshly cooked and was very flavoursome but I felt it was over- priced around £11-£12 per dish. The bill for 4 Pomadoms, 4 curry’s 2 Rice, 1 Naan and 3 Pints came to just over £78. The portions sizes were also not as generous that you get at most other Indian Restaurants. I would eat here again, but only on a special occasion as too pricy for eating and ordering takeaways on a regular basis.

The place was cold. The food was not very good, we ordered two different meals but we couldn't tell between the two. The tikka chicken wasn't tikkaed. Go elsewhere.

The best and most correct actual INDIAN restaurant in the West Midlands. Not like your normal Indian takeaway that is actually Bengali or Pakistani. This is Indian! Also one of only a couple in the whole of West Midlands that serves meat that is 100% NOT halal.
