Well done all. Brilliant evening.

From the time you walk in to the time you leave everything is absolutely perfect. The food is really lovely and my lamb was perfectly cooked.

Sadly the worst chicken tikka massala I've ever had it had a very strange taste couldnt quite put my finger on it but it was so gloopy and sickly I couldn't eat it. I did tell the manager that it wasn't great and he kindly gave me a discount but I wouldn't return it just wasn't nice at all.

This was my first and last visit.. I can't believe how rude 2 of the staff were. The food was enjoyable, but the night was ruined?. All because of their attitude. Hopefully it's not down to all the stupidity going on around at the moment.

Update: The buffet is no longer offered, but all of the food is still of fantastic quality. This is a great Indian restaurant. The food is of a very consistent high standard and the restaurant is always bustling. Service is good, prices are reasonable and the buffet in particular is a highlight. I've been here at least once per month for the last several years and never once been disappointed. Decor is a little dated, so if that's something that detracts from an evening, it may not be for you but everything is clean and tidy. Would recommend.

A good standard no-major-frills meal. Friendly staff, good varied menu and tasty. Parking is easy, park around the back. Expect to pay about £25/30 per person. This restaurant is licensed.

Much improved food and service here. Presentation and quality of foodstuffs are better and now provide a decent Asian dinner experience.

The food was well prepared and tasty, but you have to wait. Post the order you may need to wait for atleast 20 minutes before they reach your table...

Four of us dined here. Food was not to our satisfaction. Thick gloopy sauce on prawn on puri lacking in taste. Chicken garlic chill curry was covered in a thick red sauce similar to the prawn puri completely lacking in authenticity or resembling anything which resembled a regular Indian curry. During our meal the waiter decided to vacuum the carpet emitting a strong smell which was very off putting and inappropriate. I will never dine here again. Terrible food.

Went with work colleagues, no booking, just walked in. I had the prawn starter and salmon curry with garlic nan, with a orange juice. Both excellent quality and filled me up. Very impressed, for quality and service.

Was seated at a small table for 5, food just kept on coming when we ran out of room on the table but no one cared. One member of staff was standing by the front doors yawning with no hand movement. Wouldn't rush back.

First visit, but food was excellent, service spot on, went mid-week evening so wasn't stupidly busy, staff are superb, slightly more expensive that normal curry house but we'll worth the money, will be returning and recommending.

Great curry house in the heart of Knowle, there is free parking opposite in the Tesco car park, just remember to get a free ticket.

Amazing food every time from this place. Only downfall is staff linger around your table while you eat. Can be quite annoying at times, but the food and service is always usually on point xx

Food ok . Charged £18.85 for 1 lamb peas potato curry , 2 chapati 1 glass of water . Reason given for high bill I had peas and potato ha ha ha . Bill paid asked the question after that was the response

I’m sorry to say that my recommendation to the curry house was lost! Total lack of customer service having waited 1.15 hours for our meal! Uninteresting food and so sadly will not return!

If I could give this place zero stars I would… The food was below average and took far too long to arrive… However this isn’t my main issue… the waiters were extremely rude and unprofessional. The menus were snatched out of our hands and we were spoken to in a rude manner when we didn’t answer the waiter straight away when they asked us questions when we were already engaged in private conversations. Save your money and go elsewhere as this place really isn’t worth it

First time there with a large party (18). Efficient without been pushy. Will go back again in the New Year. Sometimes when you are with a large group it is hard to judge the food and service because you are wrapped in conversations and things that are going on in your group. Certainly worth a second visit.

Amazing food, went in the hope that they had a walk in for 2 available. We were very lucky they had a table spare. Food was delicious and great atmosphere.

Got bored of queueing on the M42 and found this lovely place open early. I was impressed immediately by the staff sweeping the pavement outside. It only got better from there. Attentive staff, beautiful food, lovely surroundings, attention to detail and reasonable prices. Get off the motorway an get here.

Best food in the midlands but book as gets very busy but food and service is 11 out of 10

I was looking for a new Indian restaurant in Knowle and decided on the Ellora. As it turned out could not have chosen better. Extensive menu. I had Tawan bhuna mixed meat. Excellent quality and very generous portion. Staff friendly and helpful. Spoke to the manager who was most welcoming. This was a Wednesday night and there were probably 40 eating. So it is very popular always a good sign. Will definitely return.

Party of 4 , 2 starters + 4 different main courses all extremely tasty and well presented, reasonably priced and good service. Definitely worth a visit.

Went here for a work meal, had a chicken jalfrezi and it was very nice. The waiters were very friendly. Would come again.

Went here for a meal when lockdown had been lifted lovely night Went last night for my birthday terrible tables squashed together Takeout coming in and out night mare Loud and horrible no table service had to keep asking waiters for food and drink They all wore masks but manager didn't When we came to pay the manager he said no tip 😳 No way couldn't wait to get out of there xx🤬

The Ellora was a local haunt for me and my family. During my young adult years, every Sunday we'd eat out here. I found a diary entry with date. The last time we visited was Sunday, 21 December 2008. This is as British Indian as you will find, with a large dose of class added to the Birmingham Bombay mix.

Nice people in here, good service, but the food quality has dipped below good. Red sludge with every dish. Needs a new chef and or new management urgently.

Excellent Indian restaurant on Solihull high street, reasonably priced and excellent service, staff were all friendly and courteous, I would highly recommend this place for a decent evening meal.

Very tasty and good food. Portions were good. Enjoyed very much but prices are too high especially for condiments. e.g. papodams with chutney and nan bread. Currys are priced as other restaurants

A very noisy child's birthday after 7pm. The restaurant played obscenely loud birthday music. Staff were unfriendly however good was good. Only suitable for takeaway rly. To be honest.

We have been attending Ellora for a few years since moving to the Midlands. I have to say it is an incredible Indian, the service is always very friendly and they are quick to deliver. The food is always beautiful (and we absolutely love their tawa curries). Upon trying all of our other local Indians in the Dorridge/Knowle area and being completely underwhelmed, we have decided to just stick with what we love.. which is Ellora!

We have endured 10 weeks of lockdown trying other curry restaurants, none of them compare to The Ellora. Taste as good as ever and very good quality. It is good to welcome our old friend back.

Good food. Particularly enjoyed the chicken chaat for the starters. I celebrated my birthday and the waiters played happy birthday and brought over a cake that my mum had brought with us. Thank you for looking after us and making it a special occasion.

The Ellora is for sure the best curry in Knowle! We've tried most of them now, but always come back to Ellora. The staff are very friendly and chatty, the food is always great, never had a bad meal. Would 100% recommend for either a sit-in or take-away meal!

Just squeezed us in on a busy Saturday evening without a reservation. Food and service were excellent. The fact that restaurant was full and a steady stream of take-out customers is a testament to the choice and quality of food. Not cheap but reasonable and good value. Was with companions who are very choosy about eating out, and none of us would have any doubts about eating here again.

In a town (knowle) of curry houses, Ellora is my chosen pick for takeaway or eat in. Never had bad food from there, always friendly, the Sunday buffet (which I've only been to once) was a really nice change. Only place I could agree to get a takeaway with my family. Here or

Food tasted great.... Ladies would recommend you put your own napkin on your lap so to avoid the obvious touch of your breast by the waiter! This was definately not an accident as the same happened for my friend!

Not impressed with the service from the management when trying to order a takeaway. I wanted to discuss intolerances and was abruptly told to come in to the restaurant and then they hung up. Heard the management are no longer friendly from others so not too surprised. Used to be one of the best in Knowle but there is much better service and better food elsewhere these days.

The service was very good as was the food, with one exception. Nan breads were very heavy and looked pre cooked and reheated. Will give them a miss next time.
