Shangri-la in Northumberland

Absolutely unbelievable food, we ordered a delivery. It came ahead of time slightly, still really hot. There was literally nothing left, even the kids who twist on 21 ate their food. Thank you and we will be returning. Amazing food and service.

My friends and myself visited this restaurant on a Thursday night which is a special menu night. The decor in the restaurant itself is beautiful , service was very good friendly waiters and nothing a problem to them they go out their way to please their customers. We were seated on a lovely little round table as there was only the 3 of us and we loved that table. We all had the special menu which we all enjoyed meals were very good and good quality meat was used. At the end of our meal we were giving a free cocktail, making it a very special touch to the end of our night. Price of our bill was very reasonable with drinks. I can’t recommend this restaurant enough I most certainly will be back.

Excellent food, excellent staff, really cheap. 2starters, 2 mains, 1 bottle of pinot, 3 pints all for £63.00 Good find.

After several return visits, without doubt this is an outstanding restaurant. Excellent chef with many meals I've never seen on other Tandoori/Indian menus. Everything is beautifully served all of the staff extremely helpful and friendly. We ate last night and I could happily go back today for more. The owner Faz, has built this restaurant into one of Blyth's and indeed Northumberland's hidden gems. I can recommend the chicken shatkora if you like spicy and citrus at the same time. Thank you once again for a tremendous night out. We're all ready for a return visit.

This is the best Indians North of Birmingham I have ever been to. Fantastic food service at a great price. Food served hot and all curries to your own taste. Brilliant service

Have to say everything was first class. Service, surroundings, ambience and the food was spectacular. Easily one of the best curries I have ever tasted. Highly recommended and we will certainly return !!

The best Indian food in Blyth!! Such a good range of choice. The food was amazing, so favourable. Great atmosphere and Faz just put the cherry on the cake with his welcoming cheery self. Service was amazing !! Will definitely be coming back

Beautiful restaurant, love the decor. Food is amazing. The staff are lovely with spot on service. The seating arrangements are good and are far enough away from next tables, great atmosphere. What's not to love. 5 stars.

Spectacular decor , great service however the food did not match the standard of the decor. Bhaji s tasteless , Chicken Tikka Chat the same and the main course was of the same standard lacking flavour and taste. Will always support the local curry houses in Blyth but this restaurant has to up its game .

This was a take-away and not a dine in. Worst indian food ever. The service was quick and the staff friendly but the food wasn't good. The Korma sauce was thin and tasteless and the lamb dish was just fat. Nan breads were tasteless and small. I won't be returning.

Can't recommend this place enough, went last night group of 9 we were thoroughly impressed. Service fantastic, friendly helpful staff, food absolutely perfect. I will be recommending this restaurant all over. Can't wait to go back!

I don’t like leaving bad reviews but I’m sorry I didn’t enjoy my meal at all, the chicken was so dry, bottom of the naan was burnt it cut my mouth, everyone paid for what they had but the bill was still short (they didn’t factor in the tips however!) won’t be somewhere I’d return.

We tried this recently opened restaurant with friends for a pre show meal close to the Phoenix theatre. We will definitely visit again. The food was delicious and service excellent. One of our party was very demanding but the waiter dealt with every enquiry with detailed knowledge and impeccable good humour. Thank you for a lovely evening.

An incredible meal . This is a feel good restaurant as soon as you walk in . Staff are extremely friendly & helpful , service couldn't be faulted . As regards menu & food . Good choice plus house recommendations, reasonably priced . This was our first visit but will definitely be back . Anyone wanting a comfortable relaxed restaurant with good food This is the place .

A star is born in Blyth,Shangrila Indian restaurant,used to be Maharaja,now has total new look and new owner .The service is fantastic,the food is excellent.Can not recommend this place enough ,a must visit .Recommend booking as even on a dark stony night it was very busy..The decor is lovely,a totally different vibe than before.A real asset to Blyth.

Thoroughly enjoyed our first visit. Beautiful surroundings, lovely staff, gorgeous food - what more could we ask for? We’ll definitely be back!
