So I came in and ordered Chicken balls , Char you Pork in BBQ sauce and special chow mein which all came to 26£ , as I left I realised the prawn crackers had not been put in so I went back in and the workers were extremely confused , after 5 minutes of explaining I recieved my prawn crackers and left to go home (15 minute walk) I wish I had checked all of my things at the shop but to my arrival at home I had been given the wrong meal altogether (I didn’t want to check in store as it takes ages to get out of containers) , I then phoned up and explained and asked if they could drop me round my right meal and I would happily pay an extra fiver but the lady said they had no delivery drivers there (which was a lie as I had seen 2 seated in there next to just eat bags) and that I had to come back to get my meal changed. I’m 19 years old and payed 25£ which to me is a lot of money for a meal I didn’t eat nor enjoy , I couldn’t go back up there as it was getting late and my family were also eating so parts would’ve been cold by the time I was back . Really annoyed to be honest and defo won’t be coming back. The communication was appalling no one could understand anything I was saying. I’m very respectful that not everyone speaks English but when you run an establishment that requires you to communicate with others , someone should know the native language otherwise orders are going to continue to be mucked up. Get an interpretator , and actually listen to orders instead of rushing everything and getting it wrong. P.s the prawn crackers were yellow and the chicken balls tasted old and as if they had been microwaved. Ridiculous!!!!

Wish I could give less than 1 star Ordered on Uber Eats with delays after delays and eventually never arrived But was marked at delivery at 11:45pm so have been charged I can promise this was never attempted (Im pretty sure most people have video doorbells these days) I called the resturaunt several times through the night and was met by tones and no answer the phone was even hung up! Can't believe they didn't have the decency to call and update or even appologies but instead have proceeded to take my money. Awful awful choice and I would suggest swerving this place! Advise me on what to do as Uber didn't respond and I want my money back as I proceeded to order from a different Chinese which arrived in prompt time Don't order from here!

I just moved in to Crystal Palace and it was my first take away order here. In the beginning I checked Google reviews and I started to be very sceptical. But I ordered in any way to check because it is a closet place to my new home. Lemon Chicken is really good: crispy and tasty!

I had to put one star to write a review however my rating is nil I came to Crystal Palace to visit a friend and ordered a takeaway I had King Prawns with noodles and spent the next 24 hours with food poisoning not being able to leave the flat please think twice before ordering from this place.

Ordered via just eat. Food itself was delicious and I was very impressed after falling to be impressed with 2 other Chinese takeaways which I had ordered from. The only thing that let them down was on just eat, it quoted free bottle of coke with orders over £38. When I called asking about this when I didn't get it. They said its for orders over £45. I told them about the error and 2 days later, it still quotes £38 so effort needs to be made to rectify...

Just had the single meal for one via just eat, one of the worst meals I've had in my whole life, it's put me of Chinese food for good. Horrible.

We've been waiting for our food for two hours. No one is answering the phone. When the food arrived, after two hours, it was literally the worst takeout food we've ever had. I cannot stand to waste food, but it was inedible and went in the trash.

Very happy with this first-time takeaway from Shanghai Wok - the personal recommendation we’d received persuaded us to try it, & we’ll certainly order again. Nice light crispy vegetable rolls. The sweet and sour was delicious, avoiding the usual sugary gloop found in the UK. Nice texture, very tasty. The Singapore vegetable Chow Mein was a delight, spicy but not so much as to disguise the flavour. The beef satay had more sauce than I expected, but was flavourful, although I’m not sure I’d order the beef again as it was a little spongy. Portion sizes were good and the price reasonable. The choice is simply huge - Thai, Udon, at least one other type of noodle, together with the usual range of Chinese dishes. We’ll definitely make this a regular & can’t wait to try the whole menu.

Worst takeaway ever!! Not even worth a single star. First of all the lady is soo racist, literally doesn't listen to anything and she was literally being racist to me the whole time for no reason. But besides that I ordered about food and they tried to deliver it 4hours later. The food is was soo under cooked and the vegetables were rotten and everything. I know for sure if I had that food I would've been sick for a long time. If you don't want to get sick avoid eating from here. It’s the worst takeaway I have had in my life the whole food from the starter to the main have all gone off . Absolutely disgusting and so disappointed. Didn't even get a refund from that racist lady.

Despicable. Christmas day we're all sick so can't cook. We decided to get a takeaway and book it in within enough time. We did so via Deliveroo. It said preparing our food for over an hour, I didn't think anything of it, it being Christmas but I did call to check on it. Called about 5 times and nothing. Went to find another contact and when I checked 'my orders' it said delivered and they'd charged me £71. When I spoke to Deliveroo they said the reason there was no delivery was because they couldn't get in touch with me. Lies.The phone is in my hand and no one has called me nor has anyone knocked on my door. I'm furious.

Won’t order from here again. Phoned up to ask them to replace the “curry” but was told very rudely “NO!” Told them the curry was oily and the chicken was rubbery but she said it wasn’t.

The food there is sooo nice, I highly recommend it to everyone. The prices for the food are great, and the worker was very calm and welcoming. In my opinion, this is the place to go, when ordering delicious food.

The food here isn't great but the worst is the service - I orderer food online and left a note "please just ring once as my baby is a sleep". They came at 10.30pm and the driver rang 4/5 times in 10 seconds.

Bad service I was given the wrong food a beef chow main when I asked for a vegetarian one phoned up and explained the situation they was rude by hanging up on me but they did agree to refund me when I come back ,But today the lady refused to give me the refund despite asking her today 5 times ! Just kept repeating what food do you want like she’s pretending to not understand me in the end I had no choice but to accept another chow main for free which really I felt like throwing back at them because I didn’t want more food as I didn’t feel comfortable eating from here so after years of going here I’m done never again!!!

Beef curry combo with fried rice (L1) was awful. Meat was cold, sinewy and an odd un-curry like flavour. Try somewhere else, the service is terrible, rude. The staff pretend they don't know the difference between a fork and a spoon! The location is convenient but there are far better restaurants nearby. Shame.

Over priced, Under portioned and rude service. Exactly what you would expect from a below average Chinese Takeaway. If you are looking for real honest Chinese food then you should try Tofu just around the corner, it is superb. My reason for ordering today was purely down to convienece, don't make the mistake I did qand let your hunger rule your head 😃

The chicken satay had to be seen to be believed! The "chicken" which had the consistency of sponge was covered in some sauce that looked like custard. Really weird ! The staff are super rude too!

Very rood woman took my order and even if the food was pretty good I'm not going to go back there as it is a bit pricey and I've found a hair in the rice.

Dont be fooled by the high reviews in Just Eat because they must be false. This is the worst thai food I have ever encountered. I dont know what you think a green curry is, but that slop that arrived was not a green curry. I am not even sure that the meat was chicken. The duck arrived like a deep fried road kill (which they couldn't be bothered to shred). I cant tell you how awful the food was. It went straight into the bin. The only item purchased that was fit for consumption was the 2 cans of coke.

First time I ordered from here as I am currently living in the area and this is the closest Chinese place plus on my way back to my place. I did have to wait a while but I understand it was busy with alot of orders.. Flavour was OKAY.not to salty,but really nothing amazing to shout about. Just had abit of minimal flavour so it wasn't bland. I got the House special ho fun. However for the price I paid.. the portion was small.i don't even eat alot and I call it small. Bare in mind I used to work in several take always and restaurant. What i ordered including cost of food,gas to cook and storage for fridge for the ingredients used to cook dish I ordered doesn't even come up to £1.20(absolubt max!as the ho fun noodle cost 70p-1.20 depending where u buy and they used about 1/3 of pack or just under half), i paid £6.90. with most places I buy from the container would be stuffed and had to be pressed down to close. This however was probably about 45-50% portion of what is usually buy and is usually pay £5.50 for it. The meat was also minimal and didn't even have any decent size chunks in it.looked like scraps of meat. It also didn't have any prawns in it.just tiny tiny shrimps. OTHER places didn't give loads but there's were always at least 1-2 prawns the size of a curled up pinky finger,And there would be decent chunks of meat and veg. This is pretty much same price as Chinatown almost but portion is smallest of seen for any takeaway to be honest. Ontop of that the lady practically flung my order at me when it was ready but as I said.they looked really busy so I'll over look that. I'd rather get on a bus and pay the fare to and back from my usual place. Would cost the same but just take more time.or get them to deliver to crystal palace from camberwell! Honestly it's not even about the price.i mean if it tasted good and was at least a decent portion I wouldn't of minded as much. Or if it tasted AMAZING but small size I still wouldn't mind. However it wasn't either of those. It's not about quantity but about quality. Even if u busy it's not an excuse to cut corners. Every time you cook a dish u should think... it should always be same size.taste the same.most importantly think from the view of a customer... would u be happy if u was a customer,u paid that price and got what u cooked/sold?!!

Waited 1 hour 30 minutes for delivery on a Tuesday evening. When the delivery driver did arrive and took the food from the box, one of the containers had split leaving juice all in the bag and over the containers. Refused to take the food. Disappointing.

The only reason I'm giving more than one star is because the service was really quick but, as soon as I opened the box, I knew I'd made a mistake. I ordered a large shrimp rice but the box was only 70% full and the rice itself was not appealing. Quite salty, overpriced, really not worth the money. Sorry to say it's not that difficult to nail shrimp fried rice; I would know, I've tried many. Honestly there's no excuse for such sub-par food and such small portions. I'm still hungry - That says everything.

Had a takeaway from here, when I rang to place the order they said my card didn't work, tried another, the same. Agreed to go and collect, rather than them deliver. When I got there the lady said do you have cash, used my card, no problem. Lemon chicken nice, chow mein not so good, crispy fried seaweed inedible. Won't be going back again.

Shanghai Wok usa sustitutos de la carne, pero no se lo dicen a sus clientes, por lo que nadie sabe lo que están comiendo. Los trozos de pollo sustitutos eran viscosos, fibrosos y desintegrados. Los dos sustitutos de gambas son igualmente viscosos, como morder una fruta extraña que desearías nunca haber probado. El sustituto de carne de res (¿o cerdo?) Acaba de masticar en una masa no identificable. No preguntes por la salsa, que sabía a salsa de polvo Bisto demasiado salada. El único ingrediente real parecía ser la pequeña pieza de brócoli, y tal vez esa mitad de hongo que encontramos en el plato. En cuanto a las pocas hebras de zanahoria y brotes de bambú. Tal vez podrían haber sido buenos, cuando originalmente estaban frescos. Asqueroso de estar vendiendo carne falsa, engañando a clientes desconocidos. Debe informarse a las normas comerciales. En definitiva, una experiencia desagradable y poco apetitosa. Nunca más.

The lady serving us was quite rude, she gets very irritated by simple questions, the food was not bad though ( 19/08/19) I returned 5 days later and the service was better, the lady at the service counter was nicer and more patient, food is as good as before. I therefore changed my rating to 4 stars.(24/08/19)

Ordered salt and pepper squid as a snack before yoga... worst mistake!! It was hard and probably the worst squid I've ever had. Probably better as I needed to detox anyway. Save your money and go elsewhere!

DELICIOUS!!! Myself and my daughter are vegan. They can create most dishes for vegans by using veg and tofu. The best sweet n sour tofu and the best tofu and veg thai red curry. Everything about it was fantastic...oh and the seaweed was the best flavour too! When I'm back in this area i will definitely be ordering from here again. Thanks Shanghai Wok for the lovely food.

Would leave less than that didn't eat there because had enough of front desk service to put me off. I don't expect amazing service in a take away but seriously that woman needs to get a new job... Hope they shut soon.

TAKE AWAY order / Recibí esta orden. . . . ¡Y lo han tirado todo! ! La comida más repugnante que he tenido a través de comida china para llevar. El pollo en el curry estaba resbaladizo / slimey y ciertamente no sabía a pollo. La salsa de curry no tenía nada que ver con el sabor del curry chino. Las costillas de cerdo estaban secas e imposibles de comer. Nunca más. !

Horrible lady at the counter. First tutted when I was taking a few seconds to check the menu, then went off to somewhere in a huff. Next she got angry at me for asking for a Chicken curry for some reason (very welcoming!). Next, when she asked "card or cash?", I said card, got my card out and again said "card please" as she didn't understand, then she got angry at me and said "card and cash, they're different!!", so again I showed her the card I WAS HOLDING and said "card" again. Wish I had just said f u and walked out, especially as the food was not that good. So bad I hope it falls under.

Never go there. The woman what works there serving is rude and rushes you all the time. Never go in there when you see her. Can’t believe it they need new owners. Made this account just to complain.

Firstly I am nearly 40 years old and have NEVER had a takeaway that’s ive not been able to eat, however the food is that bad at this place I had a few mouthfuls and had to throw it away! A waste of £30 would never ever use this place again avoid!!!

Comprado para llevar para 2 solo para encontrar uno de los paquetes de papel de arroz frito estaba solo un poco más de medio lleno y solo tenía 7 gambas (otros lugares tienen 9 o 10). El arroz frito sabía bastante bien, pero no llenar el recipiente es inaceptable, especialmente cuando nadie lo comprueba hasta que llegan a casa. Llamé para quejarme, pero me pusieron el teléfono. He sufrido esta rudeza una vez demasiado, me estoy moviendo hacia donde mi costumbre es apreciada.

I struggle to find good quality Chinese food and authentic. I can't make too much of a comment as I habe only had won ton soup twice. None the less a very good won ton soup. Lovely homemade dumplings with a good flavour broth. The lack of smiles I dont take too personally. A further review once I try more. So far so good in my opinion

Was once a lovely place but the new ownership is terrible, the food isn’t as nice anymore and the lady at the counter has a disgusting attitude. Very abrupt, rolling her eyes because I wanted to pay by card, in the end I didn’t order I wouldn’t want someone with such a nasty attitude handling my food. Go at your own risk

Came in during a run, was not expecting to get Chinese takeaway but was pleasantly surprised. Service was initially quite abrupt, telling me I have to spend x amount if I don’t have cash, what do I want in a rushed manner etc. However, after a while it became better and there was more chat and recommendation on what is nice etc. It would do no harm to be courteous, it’s a service industry after all. Lastly, the food was great! I would be coming back or ordering the takeaway again for sure...start smiling immediately and keep the quality of food!

Foods great don't get me wrong but service and attitude of the lady is very rude. I've had better Chinese food were the staff are so welcoming and nice. You should try wonderful house or ka wu. These two are the best Chinese takeaways.
