this place has terrible music and the shisha didn’t have any flavour waste of my money honestly the worst place in this area for my first time coming

Had a very great time at zen today, went for a birthday party and the manager accommodated us amazingly. Really good place to go for a casual day/night out definitely recommend

Lovely halal Asian fusion place. Stunning interior, great for photos. The food service was a bit slow which is weird as the place was relatively empty. The dumplings were not nice, very oily and overcooked. The sushi and katsu curry were nice though. A little overpriced but I guess you’re paying for the atmosphere. They have shisha upstairs so the restaurant is quite cold.

Sooo accommodating and friendly for my friends baby shower. Took all of our needs into consideration and we were so happy with the day itself and communication. Thank you to the team and the manager as well!

I recently had the pleasure of hosting an event for 30 women at Zen Lounge in Purley, London, and I am delighted to share that it was an extraordinary experience that deserves nothing less than a five-star rating. Service and atmosphere was good but the food can be improved. The sushi was soggy as they used white rice instead of sushi rice. The main beef dish that does not deserve the £21.50 price tag as it was dry, overcooked and lacked flavour. The dimsum was not that nice. We enjoyed the Beef Udon Noodles as they were quite juicy and well seasoned. We also enjoyed the drinks. The dessert was alright. This place has so much potential!

The staff where very nice and sociable I went here for my 16th birthday. 10/10 everything was perfect the atmosphere was beautiful and I took many picture

It was a really great experience and atmosphere in the zen Lounge. I would highly recommend everyone to must visit the place. The staff was very polite and the service was good as well. The food was very nice especially the dynamite prawns, beef ribs, lamb cutlets. The decoration was superb as well. 10/10

The atmosphere is great. But it’s hard to recognize past the poor and slow customer service. We were excited to try Zen Lounge for our date night, but unfortunately, the entire experience was a letdown. We waited over 45 minutes for two juices, and then another 30 minutes just to get our order. The food itself was underwhelming. For the hefty price tag, we expected something much more special, at least good service. Instead when we finally received our meal we were handed the check and rushed to leave.

From being a regular since they opened, I’m so disappointed. it seems like they have new management and all the other guys have left. The service has now become terrible and rude. The shisha is dreadful compared to before

AWFUL! We went in for a table of 5 on xmas day 7pm which surprisingly was dead (now I know why). Starters: I ordered Coconut King Prawns which was basically 6 small pieces of your typical Iceland's battered prawns! Main Course: I ordered Chicken Bau Bans which was basically fried chicken strips with a bit of sauce and lettuce in a bun! Tasted awful and felt like I was having a chicken strip burger! All of our dishes was exceptionally small portions for the price they are charging. We didn’t even bother with desserts or shisha after the experience we’ve already had. We paid the bill with the added service charge but the waiter serving us wasn’t really bothered and hardly looked at us with a smile as we saying goodbye to leave. We didn’t give the management any hard time or complain just had a really bad experience, paid, and left with an oath of never returning back!

Firstly the decor is beautiful absolutely stunning. But there's a lot to be desired. There was no real atmosphere In there, it was almost like a ghost town and it was the Friday night before Christmas which should have been a red flag for us.i had to keep asking them to turn up the music a bit because it was too quiet it was almost unsettling The restaurant was freezing, seems like they were having issues with the heating or something but it was so so cold. The food was 5/10 at best. The sweet potato mash was like baby food and I could not eat it. Also please be aware that they don't sell alcohol! In all honesty I wouldn't go back. If you like a alcoholic drink with your dinner defo don't go here.

Ambience is lovely, and the venue is aesthetically pleasing. Aside from that, food service was slow, by the time my friend got her starter the rest of us had finished, by the time I got my main the rest of my table had finished. Friend had to send his food back twice and ended up no longer even wanting it. Waited too long for drinks. Food is barely average and overpriced. A friend was charged one great British pound to change the sauce on her order. Had to wait for salt and pepper as these werent already on the table like most restaurants have. The torpedo prawns I had were delicious, I also ordered lamb and there was barely any meat, not the best cut or quality. Shisha lounge is a lovely vibe, great amount of shisha flavour options, service only slightly better than the restaurant downstairs main con being initially sat by the shutters when it was a windy cold night, decided to move myself and party to a different different table. Overall, if I didn't make light of the situation, I would've been more irritated. I may visit the shisha lounge if I had more time on my hands, but unfortunately, the restaurant isn't it for me.

The starters were meager in size & how they served the main was poor - no salad, no dressings. The price for the food was a rip off too! I would not recommend this place at all!

Amazing service , good atmosphere delicious food and smooth shisha

Food and service was good and has always been good when I have gone there. The standards are high and maintained. Can get very busy over the weekend so always good to book for larger groups. Shisha is also good and can't go wrong with a recommendation from the staff there.

I went for a birthday dinner the staff was really nice and so was the service the food was really nice as-well. The lounge itself was very spacious and picturesque.

Food was okay but WAY over priced. I ordered chilli cheese fries and the portion was very small, barely filled a small side plate and there was no sauce and cheese just thrown on with no thought. It meant that there was not enough cheese to cover the chips... It cost £6.50! Absolutely ridiculous price.. They also added a service charge for £10 which we were not informed of. The service was definitely not worth £10. We had to ask for plates and then for our starter plates to be cleared when our mains arrived. It was also very cold in the restaurant. I ordered katsu chicken.. the katsu sauced had obviously been blitzed in the microwave because it had a 'skin' on the top. Again, not worth the price tag. We asked for tap water for the table after we finished our cocktails and they said they don't give tap water and we had to buy a bottle. We then went up for shisha and they said as there were 3 of us, we had to pay for 2 shishas! We just left. Absolutely awful experience. Would not recommend.

All starters were frozen cash and carry food and still took ages to come out. Mains were awful 😖 It was freezing inside. Really don't get the hype

Poor performance from Zen Lounge. Ordered a frozen raspberry and blueberry shisha and it had zero flavour. Clearly these guys are happy to serve up anything so long as they can charge you £25 for a sad excuse of a shisha. Table service was poor and took 30 minutes to place an order for food which took equally long to arrive. Won't be going back here, the decor is nice but everything else falls too short to recommend. Save your money and go elsewhere!!!!!

Lovely food and service at Zen Lounge in Croydon. The food was amazing, everything tasted great and was made fresh, including the sushi. My only complain is being served boiled rice rather than Japanese jasmin rice/sticky rice with the salmon. Other than that the service was good, as for the interior it was a little dim in lighting but very spacious and beautiful itself. The shisha lounge is separate to the actual restaurant which is downstairs. I will definitely be coming back.

First time I went to this place.. Extremely quiet for a Saturday night around 8pm, hardly anyone in the place. Slightly on the expensive side of things but it's quite Lavish maybe that's why. Food was nice portion size was good.. Parking can be an issue but we managed to find a space. Overall good but nothing to write home about.

Zen Lounge - Absolutely amazing! The place is beautiful and staff are super friendly and the food is delicious. The ambiance is very welcoming and charming. The venue was perfect, and the staff went out of their way to make my fiancé's proposal to me special. We will definitely be back again. They made us feel welcomed and gave us an amazing experience. If I could give the food a minus I would. I ordered the salmon main with yuzu mash. It still came with chips & a dry undressed salad. The chips both tasted and looked stale. The salmon managed to be both under seasoned and overcooked. I’m in total shock

So guys, tonight we were there as a group and we had paint all over our hands and our clothes, the manager simply 'rocks up' to us and says ' ohhh yeah wet paint' I was in awww! Upon paying the bill, I was asking if it meant anything to him that we had paint on our hands, he looked speechless as if it was normal. To think a manager of a busy place decided to paint the venue on a Friday busy evening???

This is my go to for exquisite shisha and delicious food. Customer service is excellent and all the staff are extremely tentative. Would recommend especially for a date night or a group outing!

Food was disgusting and the customer service was not great.

Visited with my Partner for our anniversary. The food was lovely, as was the guy who took our order. The only downside was the tables. They are extremely low, whilst the chairs are a lot higher. Ended up eating bent forward so I wouldn't drop food down myself!

Really delish Halal Japanese food! Definitely would go here often! They also surprised my nephew with a yummy soft chocolate cake (his fave as well!) complimentary for his birthday :-). The desi chai was lovely and mocha was so tasty! Dim sum was so yum and the duck spring rolls were like woaah! The staff were really kind and gentle. My family had a great time. Thanks Zen!

Not the best experience doing shisha during an empty place. Lost 5 customers unfortunately now. Going to stick to other shisha places.

Pros: some dishes are nice, great for pictures, aesthetically pleasing. Cons: some members of staff has a bad attitude and are rude. Especially the female worker. Served undercooked fish and still charged for it, cutlery is terrible quality so you’ll have to use your fingers to eat and the shisha was a waste of money as the two were given and replaced and still didn’t work

Went last week with a group of 7of us, the shisha was good, the cookie dough banged and the service from Sadiq was exceptional! Definitely recommend it.

What a gem! Interior is stunning, the food is absolutely delicious (presentation and palate 1:1 with The Ivy). Shisha is second to none (it never ends) and the people who work there are friendly and welcoming! Without a notice in advance, they made my sister’s birthday so special! Thank you!

They should focus on a few good dishes versus trying to do many different dishes. Not worth the money and would not return or recommended, unfortunately.

This restaurant is BEAUTIFUL affordable and very chilled vibes. The food and drinks were good but the service was AMAZING. The tables have a call option where you’re able to ring for someone and they’re quite prompt with their responses. All the staff are very helpful, however Radi is your man! He’s amazing, helpful and constantly making sure you’re comfortable. Had a situation with my phone and superman Radi solved it in under 5 mins whereas I had been told I’d have to wait till the next day to get my phone. I am very satisfied and grateful to Radi for going the extra mile for me. Thank you team and I’ll be back

What a lovely spot the vibes and atmosphere were amazing. I had the VIP area, which was comfortable and cute. Yet again, the staff (Luqz) were on point. My son and his friends all had a lovely time. Would 100% recommend it to anyone. Keep up the good work, Luqz !!!!

It’s unfortunate that I have to write this as aesthetically this place is lovely and has great potential. Worst Birthday meal experience ever - booked in advance, they didn’t know where to seat us as I had stated shisha and meal in the booking. Was sent upstairs twice but it was packed with no reserved area for bookings. Eventually seated downstairs in the main restaurant. Noticed other customers had their coats on. The temperature was lower than outside, which was -3 degrees at the time. We also felt the air conditioning and raised this with an employee who said he will look to have this turned up but it only blew cold air the whole time. Me and my friends did not take our coats off the whole time we were there even whilst eating. This is a first for us all. The staff were not attentive they told us that we will have to wait for our food due to large booking, took ages to bring drinks, no offer of nibbles whilst we wait. If they had a large booking why would they not prepare for them on a Saturday by way of letting the customers pre order their food? They also need to let people know that they do not serve alcohol without us having to figure this out for ourselves. They failed to clear our table in between meals but would pile on the food we ordered with the dirty plates. I had to tell them the table needs to be cleared first. In addition to all of this we ordered drinks numerous times and would get the same people coming back to us saying did we order food. We had to express that we are waiting on our food and need to know how long this will take and also when we can get our drinks they would disappear with some one else returning ages after asking the same question. There was no order of service. They were disorganised, not making their customers feel welcome, even the hosts and servers wore thick coats whilst working just to demonstrate how cold it was in the venue. Now what I will say is if there is a heating issue they should advise people as they walk in or at the time of booking. If you cannot manage pre booked guests why would you take the booking. It was my first time here and walking in I was impressed but unfortunately it didn’t live up to what we saw visually. Very disappointing experience. My friends noodles had hardly any chicken in we ate because we were already starving and they told us they already started cooking the food when we said we will leave if they haven’t. So can’t even fully say if the food was any good because we just ate because we were hungry and waited for so long. Overall they need to improve on customer service, organisation, communication, heating the venue, attention to detail and customers, preparing for busy time periods and the food.

The food was mid. My noodles had barely any noodles in it and it was just veg. the chicken was very small for £6.50 and the desert was a little cold

Well where do I start, it was warmer outside as they couldn’t find the remote for the heaters. When we move to sit near the one heater that was working, you could only feel heat if you remained standing. The Katsu Chicken is meant to be a curry chicken but it was more like Kentucky fried chicken with Curry gravy on top when we were told it was like normal curry. The crispy duck was cold and the portion was small although we were told it was enough for two people. As for the chicken and avocado wrap we ordered, it had no avocado just chicken. They said the avocado came as the spread. Oh yes we asked a question about the food and they put it down as an order and with that they only put one order through. The staff were polite but didn’t know what was in the source and some of the food. And top it off, they didn’t even offer anything off for the meal but charged us full price, they tried to charge us service charge but we didn’t pay. Oh and just to let you know, they charge you if you make a mess and if you use candles.

Great building with average shishas and microwave food

Visited Zen Lounge for my partners birthday and they graciously gave us access to the VIP section which was nothing short of beautiful. The food was 10/10, we tried most of the sushi platters with the spicy tuna roll being our favorite. The service was excellent and we had a buzzer to call the waiter which was pretty cool. They also gifted us a bottle when they brought out the birthday cake. Zen lounge is a MUST visit and we cannot wait to come again soon.

Ameen provided excellent customer service I was pleased with his politeness and consistency. As for zen lounge they have showed me hospitality, good music especially being diverse with culture. I have been 4 times in one week. The food is fresh and tasty the wings and prawns in general. I recommend decent prices you can’t go wrong. Already booked for my birthday in February Luke

If I could give more stars I would. Amazing place with wonderful aesthetics to take pictures in. Served by Anna, a friendly staff who recommended the strawberry mojito which is non alcoholic and tastes great. Food was so good and Shisha was nice and smooth. 10/10 overall.
