Shanghai Town in Shropshire

I have had many many chinese meals over the years, this has to be by far the worst Ive ever had, tasteless chicken covered in congealed gravy type sauce passed off as a chicken curry, Never again avoid!!!

Well what can I say We placed an order worth over £60 Tonight And the food was Absolutely Disgusting I wouldn’t be surprised if It was yesterdays food it was absolutely foul I had a mouth full of each dish which I spat out If my family and I end up with food poisoning I’ll be contacting my colleagues at trading standards AAChin

I've used this takeaway for a while now, and I have never had a bad meal. I use the delivery service, food is always hot and tasty and arrives in good time. I would have given 5 stars, but some of the delivery drivers can't find my address, but I think this may be more to do with satnav rather than human error.

Popped in here by chance while the Wife was getting food from somewhere else on the same street. I usually use a different chinese restaurant in low town but was pleasantly surprised by this one. Ordered my normal meal and the food was fresher and tastier than I am used to. Even my Wife preferred the food from here. I've ordered a few times since and the service has been excellent, the food is prepared quickly and is consistently good across many of the dishes I've tried. The only negative is the insistence on cash, card payments would be significantly more convenient when diving in for a collection.

We had kung po prawns, lemon chicken, house special rice, house special noodles, ribs, satay, prawn crackers: all of it was superb. It was ready 15 minutes after phoning and was piping hot on collection. Very friendly service and the food was absolutely delicious. Not greasy at all like Chinese sometimes can be. Can’t fault it at all, highly recommend.

Great takaway again, meals for 6 all had different meals all enjoyed. Ordered at 5.00 to be delivered at 6.30 arrived at 6.25. Total bill for 6 people £51.00 . Great value.

Our first time using this takaway, but glad we did, very polite, & food very tasty, will be returning soon.

The store was fully open, with no sign of closing. Two members of staff at front, both looking at their phones on arrival, claiming "collection business only" and that the cooks had finished. Kitchen still seemed functional and highlighting collection for delivery persons was the only available option. Better alternatives and service available locally.

I ordered food for delivery took over 2 hours when arrived no chips was with phoned again no chips have arrived since.

Excellent meal again tonight, delivered on time as usual . Can't fault shanghai town. Polite delivery driver.

ive tried this place a few times now the food is completely tasteless much better in town avoid at all costs!

We have spent the last 10 years avoiding Shanghai town / instead we would drive to our old home town of Wolverhampton - what a mistake! We have had numerous takeaways from Shanghai town since lockdown began and every meal has been seriously excellent. Lovely fresh vegetables and flavours from starters and main courses. chicken beef duck - all cooked brilliantly with no evidence of the sloppy msg texture - seriously cannot recommend this place highly enough - But be prepared to ring numerous times at the weekend to get through as they are so busy!

Being a customer of Shanghai town for over 10 years, and have never had a bad meal, first class food (which says a lot as lived in China for several years), excellent staff, fast service, and by far the best Chinese in Bridgnorth. You must try the Thai Pantang red curry......simply Devine !!

Enjoyed using this place all the time and offer a delivery service which is great If new to the area and enjoy Chinese food highly recommend you try this company.

I stop at my son's house on Railway Street so this is just a short walk uphill.I generally have the special satay which I really enjoy. They are prompt and polite.good value for money. The Chinese restaurant in high town is better but service can be unreliable.

I don't think I've ever written a really bad review so I'm not going to start now but I feel that I should comment in the hope that the owner reads this. To be fair my friend and I have ordered from here before and the food was fine, but on Friday my Thai red chicken curry and fish cakes were not up to standard. I don't know what went wrong but the curry lacked flavour, didn't taste like the Thai red curry I've had elsewhere before and the fish cakes were tough and rubbery. I would have complained in person but my friend is a regular customer, she was paying and I didn't want to spoil her evening. I'm prepared to give the chef the benefit of the doubt, we all have off days and on the plus side the telephone order went smoothly and the delivery arrived early with a smile and polite attitude. I probably won't eat here again or at least I won't order Thai red curry and fish cakes!

This is my youngest boys favourite takeaway. They are generous with their servings , you do get a lot of chicken balls in a portion and they are nice. The satay sauce was lovely instead of sweet and sour and had just the right amount of heat for me, The chow mien was nothing special but for value for money it's pretty good. Not the best Chinese in Bridgnorth but in a handy location with good parking next door.

It is impossible to find a really good Chinese take away in Bridgnorth. This place is best of all of them and that's saying something. Several times we have ordered from here early evening for sweet & sour chicken balls and has the previous nights refried. We've also had previous days prawn crackers. Tough as old boots. The Chinese curry is fine as is the chicken in black bean. Egg fried rice is good. Prawns not so much. The one benefit over Indian food is this place opens at 5 pm so can pick up on way home from work. There are English staff front of house but staff from behind the scenes are not so good. Can also be pricey. Just be careful when and what you order.

No me gusta escribir críticas negativas, pero esto es necesario dadas las circunstancias. . . ¿Cómo es posible conseguir un pedido sencillo para 2 personas equivocadas 1 principal y 1 de arroz. . . No estoy bromeando, y luego de ser juramentada en el teléfono cuando usted llama para explicar que tienes un curry, pero no de arroz. . Absolutamente vergonzoso.. . Y luego hay. más (para mi horror) escuchar a la persona en el fondo gritando que estará ahí cuando llego allí! ! ! No hay excusas un simple lo siento señora y estaremos con tan rápido como podemos habrían estado bien y me lo han aceptado porque todos somos humanos y todos cometemos errores. . Donde tiene el respeto. Para cualquiera humana estos días especialmente como desaparecido el cliente. . Pena pena pena.

Hemos tenido un trabajo entregado a llevar pocos un sábado por la noche desde aquí, y todos hemos sido satisfechos con él. Siempre ha sido entregado bang a tiempo, y la comida es muy buena. La comida un 10 libras para ser fácilmente suficiente para 2 media comen.

Ordered food over the phone for home delivery. Got exactly what we ordered and delivered on time. Very pleased with food and service. Will definitely use again.

Visitamos en lo que parecía un muy concurrido los viernes por la noche, quizás porque uno de los otros sitios locales chinos estaba cerrada.Pagamos más por arroz frito, en coche a 7 millas en las leyes que el comer en el de encontrar me habían dado arroz hervido. No es un verdadero discos de vida pero tengo que admitir que hubiera tenido que pagar un precio adicional y el arroz hervido estaba seco y enganchado!En general, la comida estaba muy bien, aparte de el arroz!

He tenido comida desde aquí unas cuantas veces por costumbre tanto como nada, y nos ha decepcionado cada vez.Sin lugar a dudas el arroz ha sido tibio y glutenous, como si se hubieran mantienen calientes por un largo tiempo. Los platos principales han sido excesivamente salados, con las proteínas y no lo suficientemente demasiado cebolla y zanahoria - con todo lo ahogando en una salsa que el mismo gusto lo que pides.Les doy crédito donde es debido, aunque, si usted llama, estarás de la puerta con su comida muy rápidamente. Espero que los estándares pueden volver a lo que alguna vez lo fueron.

Sencillamente, esta - pedimos un par de rojos Curries tailandeses. Era totalmente carente de sabor. A pesar de tener dos guindillas junto a ella en el menú ( 'muy caliente» ), carecía de calor. No había ninguna crema de coco en la salsa, lo que había - sin duda - era un líquido acuoso cornflour. ¡Oh, qué pena.

We fell into this at 8.30 tired after a long drive and were welcomed like family. They wrote down our order in Chinese characters (always a good sign), the fish stew was excellent - not your standard Chinese restaurant fare. Prices were OK too.

Al contrario de lo que mi última crítica ... he tenido 3 además tomar las escapadas desde aquí y han sido bastante mal ... empeorado cada vez para ser sincero!! El colmo fue recibiendo un soso, coolish comida a menos de 15 minutos de pedir una entrega de casa!!! tan sólo puede suponer es que calentar comida previamente preparada. Tuvimos que bin tanto comidas!! ... la calidad era pobre y no se puede pedir una vez más desde aquí!! Una pena!

I have had quite a few take aways from here and have to say they are incredibly tasty and excellent value for money. Can't wait for my next one!!!! well done x

Ordered a takeaway from here wasn't the best Chinese we've had but was ok, I feel it was a little overpriced for the portion and quality of the food.

Always a good takeaway, always good service. Great options on the menu and staff are always accommodating if you want something removed from a dish (i.e. green peppers taken out of a dish).We will always be back!

Nice little take away. Food took around half hour to cook but worth the wait as tasted lovely and would rather be cooked properly than rushed.Plenty of variety on the menu.

After waiting over an hour for our takeaway to be delivered-we opened up one of the dishes to find they had sent the wrong one. We called shanghi who told us we had ordered the wrong dish!? After argueing that this was not the case and there were four people in the room that overheard the order, shanghi said they would send the correct dish straight away. The correct dish took another 20mins to be delivered...and when dropping off the right dish, the driver asked for the incorrect dish back!!!?asked if we had opened it, and then asked if we had eaten any- lets hope this was thrown away and not reused!! We had been using shanghi for some time (and were very happy with the food/service)but in my opinion in recent months prices are rising and they are making too many cut backs-portion sizes decreasing, no free prawn crakers with every order, and i think cutting down on delivery men as it now takes over an hour for your order to arrive at a weekend!

Very friendly lady who works here. The food is consistently good and good for the money. If you would prefer a night in they deliver or you cab go and pick up a great takeaway. We use Shanghai Town regularly.
