The staff were very friendly and welcoming the food was ready on time portions as always were good food was nice hot and full flavour as always most enjoyable

food arrived before estimated time,friendly driver,food was piping hot and as always absolutely delicious,this is why inam a repeat customer! 5 star service all round!

Unfortunately I shall not be ordering online anymore as too many mistakes. This time no sweet and sour chicken Cantonese style was delivered so already a meal short then also found the crispy shredded beef had no sauce and was far too dry to eat. Pretty disgusting actually. Normally the food we do get is good so will only eat in the restaurant in future so can complain in person if the food quality is not to scratch or if dishes are missing.

Far exceeded expectations, really good selection, excellent speedy service, every dish freshly cooked, piping hot, and without doubt one of the best value meals in the town.

We ordered a Chinese from here and ordered same as we always do. Unfortunately it had some hard bones in the meal which shouldn’t have bones I rang them up and said her chef checks before the food goes out I said well it definitely had bones in it wasn’t a great experience at all won’t be going here again unfortunately last time we had also was chewy and cold very let down as used to be rather nice

Notified by Just Eat that food had been delivered but it hadn’t. Arrived 15 minutes late, after I had called the restaurant to check status of delivery. Food was lukewarm at best and spring rolls/chicken balls and the ribs (that didn’t have a bone in them) were floppy and rubbery.

Always incredible food. Delivery takes a while but I don't mind waiting for good food! Piping hot and incredibly tasty. Wouldn't go anywhere else.

Great taste food I think there is new kitchen chef as before I was give one start for quality . Good job for performance.

The starters were so sparse, there was hardly anything to share. The chicken satay was either frozen and reheated or it’s been microwaved- there was huge inedible chucks. We then had duck, which was so fatty and yet again inedible. For mains we had peking beef, sweet and sour chicken, rice and noodles. The meat was chewy and the rice and noodles were burnt. We told the owner multiple times we were not happy with the food and we simply got back ‘ oh’. There was no apology at all and she made it seem like it was our fault for complaining. We came out of this place feeling hungry and most of all angry. We will not be returning.

ordered food at 17:55 .. at 19:50, after speaking to three different people was told it was still going to be another 40 mins.. 3 hours for food is completely unacceptable!!

Placed the order for delivery, waited two hours and 10 minutes, then called and was told the food was not even prepared or cooked. Told to wait another hour for the delivery. App is pointless and there is no customer service whatsoever.

Waited 2 hours for food to be delivered. When it arrived, it was overcooked and cold. It went straight in the bin!

Order placed ok but never updated until three hours after delivery. Food was tepid. Omelette was worst I’ve eaten and was just bitty and not a proper one. Don’t order from here it’s rubbish.

Excellent service and food quality. Party of 8 adults and 3 children food was plentiful and delicious. Price was very good also. Great value for money

20 mins after delivery should have been delivered I contacted the restaurant through the app, who called me back very quickly, apologised and assured me it was on the way. Will be 15mins. another 40 mins later it finally arrives. luckily the food was still hot and tasty.

pre ordered advised 1815 delivery swiftly changes to 1845 still waiting at 1940 hours having had no communication from just eat or the take away.. i called and nothing more than an apology. VERY POOR SERVICE let's just see if the food arrives amd if its actually hot

Ten of us went there last night and had the buffet where each of you picks a starter ,have duck or lamb for 10 people and then pick 10 mains and it was very good ,food fantastic and there was some much food we left a little bit ,would definitely go again and that was all for £20 each person They also do gluten free dishes if needed

The food was ordered just after 6.30pm and arrived at 9.20pm, food was very nice however due to this taking so long to get delivered by the time the food has arrived no one was hungry. Food wasted money also wasted

The rice cold and curry warm ..if we were in a restaurant would have sent it back …even phoned to find out where it was …as the app said enjoy your food and we had not recived it at that time very disappointing

Food was good would of been better if I received all my order called them and got cut off called a second time got told thay will refund for what's missing and not going to do anything else as there to busy won't be using again and will wait and see if I get my refund

Was a lovely evening but due to being short staffed we did have to wait a while for our food. However it was definitely worth waiting for and we had a lovely evening. I would of given 5 stars if we didn't have to wait so long. Lovely restaurant and lovely staff also beautiful food. We will definitely go again.

First of all, they have stopped the buffet but do not inform you upon arrival. You pay £20 or more per head. We got one spring roll each, one won ton each basically one thing (out of the 6) that we ordered. When we asked for more starters we were told we would have to be charged. We weren’t happy as one item per person is definitely not enough😂 the majority of the staff are 15 year olds, it was very unprofessional, especially our Waiter. Our drinks came without ice, we weren’t given fresh cutlery after our starters. We didn’t eat our mains as we felt like we were being ripped off. They decided to take £4 off our bill, and the total was £57 for two drinks, 1 spring roll, 1 wonton, 1 chicken wing and prawn crackers. And didn’t even eat our mains. Honestly, never leave reviews wherever I go, but I am extremely disappointed and will not be returning to this restaurant. The Beijing Palace is much better in comparison to this. Can’t believe it.

What was supposed to be a simple family dinner caused the end of my marriage. The waiter was great though.

Would not recommend! I went here with my two kids. It was my eldest's birthday and he was left extremely disappointed by the meal. The prawn crackers were less than adequate, the vegetables were sloppy and my energy drink was lukewarm. I heard staff members squabbling about packaging in the kitchen which resulted in my son bursting into tears and not wanting to stay for dessert. The waiter was lovely. The water wasn't. Think I could do better if I went to Shanghai itself and ordered something for a tenth of the price from a local market.

The chips were over cooked and that hard we struggled to eat them. The ribs hardly had any meat on the bone. Overpriced for the quality.

Enjoyed all the food, but annoyed that two pots of curry sauce were only half full. Considering they charge £2.40 per pot which is expensive you expect a full pot! Also delivery time was 1.5 hours if I had known would have ordered elsewhere as did not want to wait that long but delivery time not given until after order placed.

This was the first time I tried Shanghai Garden for a takeaway, although I had eaten in their restaurant before and been very satisfied with the food quality. There was clearly some mix-up with my order / collection time as I received 2 texts 30 min and 15 min before the due time, both saying that my order was ready for collection. I arrived at the correct time but no-one seemed to know anything about my order. I was kept waiting for about 10 min and then an order arrived on the table for collection but it took them several minutes before they told my that it was my order standing there going cold. On arriving home I quickly re-heated it in the microwave and I must say that it was excellent. The restaurant was very busy at my chosen time, which could explain some of the problems I experienced this time, but I shall certainly be using this takeaway again in the near future.

First of all, I ordered a takeaway through the holbeach branch at 6 o’clock, which was then transferred to the Spalding branch without any communication to myself. After ringing the original branch at 7:15 to find out where my order was, only then was I informed about the change. I then rang the Spalding branch to be told after 10 minutes on the phone that it is currently being made and will arrive in 30 minutes - when in fact, you could hear the chef in the background say to the person on the phone that they didn’t even have the order! After 45 minutes we then rang again only to be told that it would be another half an hour! At 8:30 the food then arrived. I am really disappointed with this and there nothing was offered to rectify or apologise. Because of that I definitely will not be ordering from here again and would urge anyone else to find elsewhere.

Very fast delivery. Food was warm. The best Chinese we have ever tried. Fully recommend and will definitely order again.

SHANGHAI GARDEN IS A LOCAL GEM . The consistency of shanghai garden has left me no choice but to Voice such a review to the people of spalding. I believe this place is a local gem and should be supported and treated as such. The service is immaculate the food is sensual , never has a chicken ball made me want to salsa through the living room like a shanghai garden chicken ball .

We love the food at this restaurant and go regularly as this is the only place locally that does buffet at the table. Can't beat the flavours and quality of the food. Service was very good on this occasion but we have occasionally had slow service in the past when the restaurant has been full and lots of takeaway being prepared.

Loved this place. Food was exceptional and the service really great too, loved how the owners made a fuss of our 2 year old and we were a big group of 9 inc kids and I in particular have pretty high standards this place was lovely we’ve ordered take out before but never been in for sit down. Will deffo be back. Atmosphere was a little quiet as we went early (6.30) and there was only a couple of other tables in, they could’ve done with putting the music on earlier to solve that problem. Still excellent though

Had ordered food to be delivered for myself and my Partner we had a wait of over 2hr, when the food finally arrived some bits were missing. We phoned up to ask for them and to explain we had be waiting to only be put on hold for 10 minutes for an answer for missing food, when finally spoken to was very rude and as we were talking they hung up on us. Very rude customer service and slow delivery.

Had to wait 2 hours for the food to arrive and then when it did was missing items. Called to advise what was missed and was given a rude attitude response, when I tried asking how long I'd have to wait as food would get cold they hung up on me. Sweet and sour sauce tastes like salt and not like any other I have had from a Chinese takeaway before! Ruined the meal.

It wasn't a massive order but it was made lightning quick and delivered just as fast!

Went today and tried their new style menu which you chose what you like -2 courses for £15.50. When 2 people, on each course you can choose 6 options per course. Great to try a bit of everything. It was delicious and freshly cooked

If I could give no star I would. Ordered over an hour ago, rang to check where my order was. With the delivery man the lady said. Asked when it left with the delivery man to then be told they hadn't even cooked it yet. Can't believe they lied and had a cheek to blame me for stressing her out. Excuses made were blaming the rain, blaming the kitchen, then being busy, then needed another delivery man, then the Tuesday system? Don't get a delivery from this place. Then blamed me for stressing her out!

Missing items . Again!! Not using here again!!! This is not the first time this has happened!!

Unfortunately the chicken balls were cold which was disappointing. First time having the rice, yeung rice, would have preferred just egg fried rice.

Best sweet and sour chicken I've ordered in a long time, chow mein wasn't greasy at all, spare ribs tender, rich and not greasy, egg fried rice again not greasy and very tasty. All dishes are generous portions. Will definitely be ordering again.

If I could leave no starts I would be ! Absolutely disgusted by what I have revived this evening, we ordered over £50 worth of food of which we thought was coming from the Holbeach branch but it was swapped over to Spalding without being notified and if we had of know this we would have gone elsewhere . Food was very bland and salad with our crispy Aramatic duck was soggy and was definitely not fresh in anyway, not only this but it was cold aswell . When we rang up to complain we was being bounced of each branch with no one wanting to take responsibility for anything. Would tell you to 100% to go elsewhere!!!!!

I’ve only had takeaway’s from this restaurant and have not had the pleasure of eating in the restaurant. I will do so as soon as my wife recovers from a serious fall; hence the takeaway. I digress! The food here is really very good indeed. I think it’s the best Chinese I’ve eaten in Spalding. Whilst only having takeaways, which are never as good as eating in the restaurant, they have travelled well, remained hot and tasted marvellous. I can’t wait to try this food straight from the kitchen on to the table with a nicely chilled bottle of Chablis
