The authentic Shanghai cuisine was absolutely amazing! The dumplings, filled with fresh, flavorful meat, were a highlight that we all loved. The new dishes, such as the spicy beef and lotus root, were equally delightful and full of flavor. We can’t wait to visit again and will definitely recommend this place to our friends!

ShanghaiFamily Chinese Restaurant has truly set the bar high for authentic Chinese cuisine in the city. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with warm smiles and an inviting atmosphere that instantly feels like home. The food is nothing short of spectacular—every dish bursts with flavor and is a perfect blend of tradition and creativity. The Xiao Long Bao are an absolute must-try, with their delicate skin and rich, flavorful broth. The service deserves a special mention. They truly go the extra mile to make you feel valued and welcome. ⭐ Overall: Exceptional food, outstanding service, and a wonderful atmosphere. As always, the super authentic Shanghainese dishes, especially the xiaolongbao and pan-fried buns, take you back to Shanghai in a second. The store is very enthusiastic and has recently launched Sichuan and Hunan spicy dishes. I recommend the dry pot series, like the small yellow croaker in dry pot, which is great😍😍😍😍

Great place to dine with a convenient location near Tottenham court road underground station. Authentic cuisine from Shanghai and the neighbouring areas. Food doesn't come as it's shown on photos in the menu, thick noodles with pak choi, braised beef comes instead as thin noodles, stewed beef and corriander. There is a service charge automatically added to your bill and a request for a tip on top seems excessive. There are better and more reasonable restaurants within walking distance.

Food and romance coexist I took my girlfriend to this restaurant this week with high expectations, but the experience far exceeded our expectations. From the moment we stepped into the restaurant, we were attracted by the warm and Chinese-style atmosphere. And the boss was very considerate and took the initiative to recommend several signature dishes to us. The pan-fried buns and squirrel mandarin fish are must-haves. One bite will make you feel like you are back in China. During the entire meal, we not only enjoyed the delicious food, but also felt the restaurant's grasp of details and care for customers. My girlfriend is very satisfied with this choice. This is not only a meal, but also a beautiful memory. We will definitely come back to experience more food, it is worth a visit to explore Shanghai style food.

Very unpalatable! The pan-fried buns were cold. After just turning them in the microwave, the bottoms of the buns were soft and moist! The braised pork is simply inedible. . When the lethal amount of dark soy sauce was served, we were all shocked. We settled on a taste. The fat meat was greasy and the lean meat was hot. We thought it was extremely delicious when paired with rice. The two popular dishes we ordered were so disappointing. Fried pan buns were cold at first and when we asked to heat, it was returned as being microwaved. The bottom was soggy and tastes like from yesterday! The braised pork….. I’m speechless and hope you all can see from my picture…

NB asked me to go to Panda customer service by myself and hang up the phone after I said it. What kind of attitude is it? I made the customer pay for my mistake and wasted other people’s time. The two of us ordered scallion noodles, shepherd's purse wontons, steamed seabass with vermicelli and three shredded wild rice noodles. The shop is not big and is kept relatively clean. There is a smell of second-hand smoke from time to time. I suspect it comes from the kitchen. The wonton filling had no elasticity and should have been frozen. The scallion oil aroma of the scallion oil noodles is relatively weak, but the basic taste is right, which is considered passable. The pork shreds in the wild rice noodles have a refrigerator smell. Soak them in green onion and ginger water before frying to remove them. It's too lazy. The sea bass used was sea bass, which was over 30 pounds and not worth the price. And it's not fresh, it should be chilled. The fish head has a distinct fishy smell and must have been chilled for more than three days. Overall, not recommended.

As a Chinese who has been in London for a while, this is probably one of the worst restaurants when it comes to value for food; £100 for two people for just three dishes and two bowls of rice. What’s most disappointing is that I couldn’t find any dish that were recommended on the Chinese social media on the menu, so food we ordered is mediocre at best. Then when I finished and paid for the bill, I stood up and saw all the dishes named on the wall (Chinese ONLY) that I originally came to try.

Small yellow croaker is also good. The fried noodles are average, and the noodles mixed with scallion oil are on the sweet side. Overall, it's a good store, keep it up. I really like this Shanghai-style restaurant. And ordered a few dishes: Shanghai Xiaolongbao: These are thin-skinned dumplings with juicy filling. They're a popular snack in Shanghai.Jicai Wonton: These handmade wontons are bigger than ones you find in supermarkets. They're filled with tender jicai (vegetable) and meat, giving each bite a lot of flavour.Braised Hairtail: This is a common dish in Shanghai. The fish is sweet and tender because it's braised in a flavourful sauce.Ham and Bamboo Shoot Slices: This dish combines salty ham with tender bamboo shoots. It has a rich texture and flavour. Braised Pork: This is one of my favourite dishes at the restaurant. The meat is sweet and tender with a rich sauce.I think ordering small portions for two people would be enough. The restaurant's food is tasty and matches my expectations of Shanghai cuisine as someone from Sichuan. I recommend it to both locals and visitors from other places.

Very authentic Shanghainese food🦀My favorite is the crab noodle xiaolongbao. The crab noodle has no fishy smell. Each xiaolongbao is full of soup. Be careful not to get burned. When paired with crab vinegar, the taste makes you feel like you are back in Shanghai in one second🔥( Although I am not from Shanghai but I often go there) it feels very authentic👍 / 🦐Shanghai-style fried rice cakes, glutinous rice cakes and cabbage🥬The shredded pork is fried together in a sticky way. It has a very Shanghai home-cooked taste. The rice cakes are full of soup and are soft and glutinous. / 🥒 Stir-fried winter bamboo shoots with shepherd's purse, I never thought that I could eat winter bamboo shoots in the UK. A big plate full of fried winter bamboo shoots satisfied the homesickness of all Shanghai friends [色色R] The seasoning is moderately salty and satisfying😌 / 🍜Braised beef noodles, the noodles feel a little overcooked but still taste good! First time visiting this restaurant as my husband was craving Shanghainese food. Some of the dishes we ordered were good, eg beans and xiao long bao. Other dishes were off, especially the egg plant dish we ordered, it had a very strong pork flavour. The prices are definitely on the higher end. What annoyed me was the cheeky waitress asked us to tip her (minimum amount on the machine was 15%) on top of the 12.5% service charge…. Luckily I checked the bill and asked her why we needed to tip if the 12.5% service charge has been added? She then backed off…

I’m not keen on giving restaurants a negative review but the food we had here on a lunchtime visit was poor. We had the mixed dim sum platter which was average to say the least. Then green beans with minced pork. This wasn’t bad but it wasn’t minced pork. Then salt and pepper spare ribs. There was no taste of salt or pepper and they seemed like they had been cooked some time ago. Tasteless and fatty. The waitress recommended a chicken with peppers dish because I said I liked spicy food. It was bland and totally lacking in any spice taste. When we came to pay by card, the reader asked if we would like to add a tip ranging from 10% upwards to 25%. A naughty practice as 12.5% had already been added to the bill. It cost us just short of £90 for a meal that didn’t rate alongside any bodies local takeaway. Poor food. Poor value. Never again

We loved our lunch at Carrots and Daikon yesterday. I had the garlic tofu Banh mi and my husband had the tofu lunch box. The baguette forming my Banh mi was the perfect combination of crunch with a soft centre and the tofu was nicely garlicky. What really made our day were the ice creams! The chrysanthemum and mango ice cream was such a fantastic combination and the matcha and pistachio was delicious too. We then bought one of each of the other flavours and I must admit that the combinations are creative genius! Who would’ve thought that mint choc chip would go with coffee and raspberry and jasmine tea with its floral notes would hit the spot?! I thought that the coconut and lemongrass was super refreshing too. Thank you to the friendly folk at C & D.
