I had my work leave dinner here a year ago in February and forgot to leave a review. I and all my colleagues were amazed with everything in this restaurant. The food was amazing and the staff had the best of service and were so kind and lovely atomsphere. 10/10. Would highly recommend!

Nothing Indian here, just a Bangladeshi kids running the restaurant here and spoiling Indias name. Poor taste and have to wait over 30mins for the mains to come which was again poor in taste. Not recommended to go.

We weren’t attended properly, had to nudge them thrice to take our order. And the service was so bad, starters, drink, main course, all of it took so long to arrive, and when the main course arrived it was a wrong order and not what we ordered. They gave peas and potatoes with biryani, and the onion bhaji was so oily and bad to taste. This isn’t definitely Indian food, will not go back ever again

I have almost tried all the dishes here, and the food is consistently very nice! The flavors are authentic and delicious. A special mention to the restaurant's Assistant Manager, Mr. Delwar, who provided amazing service and made the experience even better. Highly recommend this place!

Close to Kings Cross, this is a gem of a restaurant. All dishes are prepared fresh so they can tailor spices to your taste, and the staff are very welcoming. Will be back

We have had a spectacular meal, the service is very attentive and friendly, they provide you with a very familiar atmosphere, plus the food is a spectacle, the chicken Tikka Masala spectacular and Butter chicken too. Everything is great, highly recommended

Excellent food — everything was prepared exactly the way we requested, which we truly appreciated. We were especially happy to see chapati on the menu, a comforting and welcome surprise. A special mention to Mr. Mubin, who was exceptionally kind and ensured our food was served promptly, keeping our train departure in mind. Highly recommended if you’re in the area!

Very friendly staff, excellent food, great suggestions. We took a platter for the 2 adults and it was really plenty. The waiter suggested to get a mix grill and a curry on the platter and it was perfect. The kids loved the dinner, found the staff very present and attentive. Special thanks to Romeo and Dilu.

Sadly the food was canteen style We ordered their speciality chicken tikka masala. The chicken was not even charred well, and the sauce taste like tomato sauce. With no smokey tikka flavours. Only the service was good.

Super fast service, nice waiters and the Chicken Phall was just right spicy. I've been looking for spicy Indian food for a long time, finally found it here. If I come back to London, I'd be happy to do so again.

This is one of four Indian restaurants next to each other across from King’s X. I have been to two of them and enjoyed both. Nice atmosphere here and very tasty food. I give this restaurant maximum marks for having Tiger beer available! I haven’t had that since growing up in Singapore. Come for a visit!

Food was lovely, atmosphere was great. The staff were so nice until the bill came and they charged our card £40 more than the bill said! We had such a nice evening that we just tapped our card and left - never thought they would try to scam us. Very disappointed as we’d had such a lovely meal.

Very good restaurant to buy takeaway before the Eurostar, it takes 15 minutes for preparation. Practical for bringing a little bit of India back to France. Price between 11 and 15 pounds per dish

Servers were great, but I don’t appreciate when restaurants leave a person out front to convince people to come in. Food was unnecessarily sweet. The Naan was very sweet, and the butter chicken too sweet to enjoy. Lamb Rogan and aloo gobi was good.

Astomsphere is welcoming and calm, perfect for a night out with ur partner or friends. Service is amazing- they are so sweet and helpful and the service is so quick/ and the food was amazing! Dilu and Staf have been so kind and inviting - definitely will be coming back

TL;DR: I came to Tajmahal on a Tuesday early evening, the food was good, the service was fantastic and the atmosphere was good. The prices are excellent given the location, there are lots of vegan options and I would come back 100%. Overall the food was nice, I had the Vegetable Biryani (w/ vegetable curry) and a Chole Masala - the Biryani was nice, well spiced and a generous portion. The Chole Masala was also a good portion but it was rather bland. I was expecting perhaps a bit richer and spicier (having read reviews to this effect) but I also didn't specify when I ordered so that's probably on me. The vegetable curry accompaniment was fine. It's nice they have lots of vegan options. Atmosphere is also good - the seats and tables are comfortable and clean, the decoration is lovely and the painted walls are fantastic. It was dead quiet, no music or anything. But generally lots of chatter and people seemed happy. Service is where this place really shines - everyone is super lovely, can't do too much for you, and will do anything they can to help. I would recommend people come here at least for this. Overall, great price, good selection of veggie and vegan options, nice enough food and fantastic staff.

The food was OK but not special. Normally the Indian meal is one of the cheaper ones when visiting England. Not this time. By far the most expensive. Papadums that you often get for free, you have to pay for here. But be sure to check the bill carefully. It wasn't right for us (too high) and it took a whole discussion to get it right. A bit of a shame. Furthermore, I find it annoying to constantly be addressed as boss. I thought we'd had that time.

Food wasn’t great, they didn’t care what happened in the basement, screaming table next to us, people vaping, over priced and under portioned, made us wait for 55 minutes after ordering before getting our food, then once we got it it was cold.

As an Indian customer, I was heavily disappointed with the authenticity of the food. It’s a Tourist trap! It’s not at all authentic! Hands down the worst Indian restaurant I have been too. I have a feeling they scam foreign tourist who visit London with what they portray as Indian food. The food is not traditional Indian food. The biryani was a sad attempt at a fried rice. The mixed veg vegetable curry was atrocious. The starters (especially the samosa chat) felt like they were heated up in a microwave. Do not recommend at all. The service was horrible. The waiters were unorganised and took forever to bring us our food. One of the waiter was also very rude when asking us for our table which was reserved for a friend who was running late.

Large menu selection, the food was good and the service awesome. The atmosphere was ok, but we went there for lunch, so I don't have enough elements to judge.

Great food and great flavors, the service was wonderful and very attentive! Only down side was the dhal makni tasted a little more like Mexican refried beans than dhal, but it was still very good.

Good treatment, they have been kind and have made sure that we are comfortable with the food. One of the group was not happy with the level of spiciness and they have served a non-spicy option. Very grateful for the service. And very good food

Very delicious food and very attentive staff

The menu for less than 8 pounds is very good. We ordered a dish that was more spicy than we thought, and they also brought us another dish that was not spicy, courtesy of the house at no charge. They treated us very well, despite arriving at 11:00 p.m. and being late.

Visiting from the US; I absolutely love curry, and this place did no disappoint. Next time I’m in London, I’ll be sure to arrive earlier so I can eat this for lunch and dinner! Excellent service, calm atmosphere and a more intimate feeling.
