Absolutely love this restaurant. We visit regularly as a family (with our two children age 10 and 14), and we love to bring friends here when they are visiting. Food is delicious, service amazing and staff are friendly and helpful. Great atmosphere - can get a bit loud on Saturday nights!

The food was really good but I found it quite overpriced for the quantity of food . The chicken skewer looked so sad and tiny , little rice and lots of salad . Very disappointed . I used to recommend it to my friends before as they portion were substancial and great value for money . I rather go to Anatolia in St James Street , for less price I get much more food . £17 should be substancial , not exactly what you see now at Shandiz . Service was very good nonetheless , beautiful toilets . Overall the facilities are beautiful . But the food portions doesn’t leave a lot to be desired .

Service was poor, very unfriendly Prices have gone up, where ch is acceptable, however the portions have gone down. My friend had five bits off meat for a Kebab, l had a Large portion and was given Ten. They didn’t go ve the tomatoe. Okay have been coming here for years, such a shame l don’t the no l will return there are other restaurants around. We had to ask for the sauces, portions and quality has really declined here!!!!

I went on a Thursday evening. They were very busy with parties which had come straight from work. However busy they were, there was always someone there to be helpful, whether taking the order, or delivering. The food was delicious as normal. Served hot and fresh just as it should be. Whilst we were eating the parties left. It was enriching to see the way the staff cleaned up thoroughly and prepared for the next arrivals. The staff were also very friendly, and I take my hat off to the young manager who has put a great team together. Shandiz remains my favourite restaurant in Brighton and Hove. It is also not that expensive.

Unfortunately our main courses were incredibly bland, quite small and pretty pricey for what was served. It was a big shame because we visited for my mum's birthday and were all very excited to go and try Persian food for the first time. Towards the end of our meal we were finally asked if everything was okay. We let staff know we were unhappy with our fish in particular and although the fish was taken off our bill staff did not tell us this until we had sat there for 25 minutes with dirty plates in front of us without the complimentary beer they said they'd bring us. We felt like we were ignored and were informed that we were rude for asking about the quality of the fish.

My husband booked this for Valentines Day. I had been looking forward to trying so called Persian food for a while. The first course of falafels was not bad but the second course was underwhelming. The chicken was bland and watery. Hardly any spices in it. The description of it sounded better than it actually was. The dessert was pistachio icecream for myself and a paklava for my husband. One cant go wrong there. The service was very good and the waiters were efficient. The price was reasonable so can't complain there.

The food is lovely but it’s a shame that the restaurant is let down by its staff. Not one member of staff looked happy, there was no warm welcome. The staff looked bored and paid hardly any attention to us. One waiter even started doing gated stretches through the restaurant. No one asked how our meal was or if everything was ok. When we paid the bill I suggested to the waitress that it maybe an idea that the staff could smile and be more friendly. The response was “I’m just getting the job done!” Then she told us how to do a tip on the machine. I don’t think so lady!

Possibly the worst restaurant experience in Brighton!Staff were rude beyond compare. Food was ok. Although the lamb chops weren't cooked, not pink actually nearly raw! When the food came we asked what a couple of the dishes were , and was coldly told "it's what you ordered!"The wine was just plonked down on the table. We served ourselves. Maybe due to covid situation, but perhaps a smile and explanation would have been good. We ate here as a group of 6 friends on a Saturday night in August. We had prebooked. When we arrived there was a guy on the door who explained the social distancing rules inside which was great. Very well organised.The restaurant was very busy and there was a good party like atmosphere. Lots of people there were celebrating birthdays etc.The food was amazing. I had the warm aubergine starter followed by a chicken kebab with rice and salad. Very tasty and plenty of it. My husband had the chops which he enjoyed. Starters averaged about £5 and mains £15 - 20. Average prices for drinks.The staff were very friendly. Very enjoyable evening.Highly recommended

We visited here on on 20thJuly and it seemed like a normal night. I don't know when it reopened after lock down and the staff weren't wearing masks. Personally it doesn't bother me but it might some people.The food was really nice and the service was very friendly.Well worth a visit.

This is one of the most consistently great places I eat at regularly. The set menu is lush - veggie dip starters (hummus and an aubergine one that I can never remember the name of) with their home made flat bread - beautiful! Then you start the meat fest...lamb chops to die for, home made kofte and lovely chicken kebab with rice and marvellous chips (and I am not a chip fan but theirs are fabulous) with a salad that sings to me. The house red is about £18 and really good even for my wine snob wife and wine snob me. Service is professional and attentive - ALWAYS! it is always busy with a nicely Persian clientele although I see a lot of my Jewish chums there as well. I can't really tell where people come from but it has a nice mix of punter with a proper family atmosphere . I have been coming back here religiously since I discovered it - try it, you will not be disappointed!

We were shown to our table and promptly offered drinks whilst we looked at the menu. The staff were very helpful in suggesting what was popular as we were taking a long time to decide! In the end we opted for cold starter of houmous and baba ganoush followed by a mixed grilled platter for sharing and a lamb & lentil stew. We were more than satisfied with our choice and would definitely be back!

Love this place it’s my wife’s favourite restaurant never had a bad experience and all ways grate food. Waiter all ways recommends different food options and what he thinks you would like on past experience of you using the restaurant. If you are local I think this is one of the best restaurants in Brighton and have. Grate place

The restaurant was beautifully decorated for Christmas and was nice and cosy. The food was delicious though apparently diners used to be given complimentary flatbread and dips but this is no longer the case. Staff were friendly and service quick.

Went for a family meal early on a Monday evening. The restaurant was decorated beautifully, the food was good, served promptly and there was a lovely waitress. However I felt that the front of house manager was not welcoming and very abrupt, it’s a shame for this reason I probably won’t be back. Also no changing table in the toilets.

The food was good, but nothing spectacular. I was pleased with the service, and the atmosphere. It wasn’t anything to write home about necessarily but it was satisfying.

We had booked for 5 for my Birthday and had said in advance that it was a special occasion- we needn’t have bothered. We arrived and virtually sat ourselves down. We were not greeted or made to feel welcome at all. We waited quite a long time for someone to come to us to take an order and when they did they were indifferent and not once did anyone smile or explain the menu and I personally was quite upset about this as it was a special occasion. The food was tasty, though the portions small and we did not think it was good value. When we asked for the bill and were paying, it was processed in silence, we were not asked if we had enjoyed our meal and to be honest they didn’t deserve the service charge at all. We were so disappointed and we will never go again when there are so many other nice places nearby who have been happy with our custom and welcomed us.

Came here for the first time on a busy Saturday evening (table booked at 6.30). We were welcomed by all the staff and asked if we had been there before to see if we needed any help with the menu. We chose a sharing feast for 4, which included a selection of starters (you choose) and a platter of mixed meat, rice, chips, salad & an additional selection of sides (you choose). The waiters were attentive, clearing away empty places, giving fresh cutlery & napkins. Food was fresh & delicious. Definitely worth a visit but be sure to book.

I took my husband here as a surprise treat and we were both thoroughly impressed. The waiters were all friendly and helpful and all the food we had was beautifully prepared and tasted like real Persian food should. The kebabs were very tender and the mirza ghasemi was to die for! Highly recommend.

This is an excellent restaurant. The staff are friendly and professional, the decor is attractive and the food is excellent. We had grilled vegetable kebabs with rice which were tasty and filling, then we shared a Baclava which was delicious. Total cost for two was £36.

we went for lunch on a sunny Saturday. The dishes were tasty and the portions were big (we ordered the Momtaz and could not finish it, which is unusual for us). We also liked the starters but were a bit disappointed with the dessert options (even though they offer a complimentary piece of sweet which we appreciated). Nice if you sit by the window but avoid sitting close to the charcoal grill as it can feel hot during the summer.

As a returning customer to Shandiz I am never disappointed, the food is exceptional, portions are generous and reasonably priced. The staff are always friendly and attentive, they made our last visit truly unforgettable as it was a friends birthday and the staff went above and beyond to make her feel special, from the birthday cheer to the complimentary glass of bubbly.

We are locals and have been enjoying great meals at Shandiz for nearly four years. So it was a pleasure to revisit after having not been for a while. We can really recommend Friday lunchtime; quiet and a very friendly welcome back. We ordered mains but were offered hummus on the house and afterwards had the delicious Joojee chicken and combined lamb and chicken kebab. Great salad and rice too. It's heartwarming to be treated in a such a friendly fashion. Keep it up and we'll certainly be back many more times!!

WORST Persian food I’ve had. You’re better of just going outside and choosing from one of the other 100 restaurants in Brighton 100% better than this place. Staff are rude and smelly

Have been here several times but not for a while .. however the food is always of consistent standard . It tends to get very popular these days and did try recently on an evening to walk in but they were all full .. so best to book if you definitely want to eat there ..it was fairly busy but the service is of good standard .. there are a few Persian type restaurants along this long road ..

We normally love this restaurant, where the kebabs are the tenderest and smokiest we've ever had. Service is usually excellent, but I guess we turned up on a bad night. It's always crowded with people enjoying themselves and often birthday parties to add to the atmosphere.

So I went to hove to visit family this weekend. They were telling me about shandiz, when they described it I thought it would be just your bog standard Turkish. Was I mistaken !!!

The food is excellent every time we go! The service is aswell, always go the extra mile 😊 we always take guests that are visiting and everyone loves it!

Can’t say enough about how nice the meal was here. The chicken wings are absolutely amazing and the chicken and lamb platter is stunning. All was reasonably priced incl wine. We enjoyed it so much we went back a few days later for lunch.
