Along Church Road you’ll see Persia in big white letters! It’s not one you can miss! I’ve always walked along this road and decided to give it a try as I missed having food from home! Of course I had to order the khashk bademjan (translates to fermented yogurt and eggplant) it’s basically a perfect dip for bread and has a savory feel to it! The sweetness comes from the caramelised onions and has the texture from the walnuts! The kebab koubideh was the star of the show! Very juicy, tender, and flavorful! This lamb kebab carried the essence of what a Persian kebab should be like and paired nicely with shirazi salad to bring that freshness! Also the portion was plentiful (genuinely could be shared between 2 people)! What makes the ambience even better was the Persian music playing in the background! Perfect place to go for lunch if you’re coming with a big appetite!

This place has the most generous portions. I had a delicious jooje kebab with lots of rice and they served it with Shirazi salad. Almost no other Persian restaurant does that which is great. The waiters were lovely as well.

Great restaurant - authentic food and fab service!

The place was pretty busy but there were a few tables available, it seems popular. You can get a table on a Saturday night, which is a plus. Portions are very generous. A medium portion of grilled cubes of chicken included five pieces, which was plenty. I couldn’t eat everything. Salad was nice but needed something else in my opinion to lift it up a bit. Otherwise it was too simple. I’d visit again and would try something else. Waiters were nice and and attentive.

As soon as we got there, we were greeted by a nice waiter and were taken to our table. They ran the food and drinks quickly. The food was lovely

The staff in here are absolutely lovely. We had a large jug of Doogh which was unbelievably refreshing. The food is all really good, with great the only reason for 4 stars was because the rice and koubideh were very oily and we only had a small ramekins of sauce to go with it. Do try the Ghormeh Sabzi, very good.

Shiva was so lovely & friendly. The restaurant is exceptionally clean & lamb Kabsah was so so delicious made with fresh vegetables.

Ate here with a big family group on a Saturday evening. Food is good, although it comes quite quickly so there is a high throughput of customer, so not a place for a leisurely or romantic evening out - I found it quite noisy. Staff are friendly enough.

Overall, the food was delicious, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. My only suggestion would be to use slightly less oil in the rice(Originally, this dish type has a lot of oil so really cannot fault it), but everything else was lovely.

As soon as we got there ,there was no one to greet us we was waiting for least 5 mins and all the staff saw us and ignored us. Once we was sat down after 20 mins no one had come over to take our order so we attempted to call them over but we kept getting ignored by the waiters, when we was ordering I mentioned that I had seen its 2 for 1 cocktails in the weekdays and the waiter agreed and said I would have 2 for 1 on drinks. When the meals came only one drink came and another waiter said I will not get my second drink. After going back and forth I had to wait a further 30mins for my second and had to ask again in order to get it! The service from the two female waiters was terrible which is not what we expected as we had been there many times before but when there was the previous owners ( who done a much better job than the new ones) the food was mediocre and non authentic which is a downgrade from what it previously was like. I would not recommend this restaurant at all which is a shame because the previous owners made it such a lovely restaurant with a family filled environment.Bring the old owners back !!

The food was good with very generous portions, quite an extensive menu and not too expensive. However the belly dancer was a bit too much. Music was very loud and having someone gyrate around the table while you are eating was not really what we wanted. Would visit again if there was no entertainment

Me and my family came here for dinner and all enjoyed our meals. I have allergies and the staff all knew what was in the dishes and made sure I could eat everything I ordered. I ordered the Falafel and Hummus for starters and the Kabseh lamb (Definitely recommend!) the lamb was cooked perfectly as it broke apart when I put my fork through it. The staff were very friendly and definitely will be coming back.

Worst.. worst… asked for veg but gave lamb which was worst and they dont have any explanation for that. I could give leas than 1 if possible 🙃🙃🤯

Absolute disaster of an evening supposed to be a nice group dinner evening. Worst experience for a vegan who doesn't eat meat. Got served a dish with lamb while ordered a vegetarian gheymen ... And we were 4 of us and all of us were served it with lamb ... Won't recommend to anyone who doesn't eat meat. You may be served something you don't eat not just as a food choice but for religious reasons too like myself.

The staff here are really helpful and attentive, food and drinks come quickly and the food is absolutely delicious. The portions are also very filling and there is a nice variety of food to choose from. We also received free tea at the end which rounded the meal off nicely. Thank you!

we have dined here multiple times but never been dissatisfied, it is the most visited restaurant for sure. first of all the entrance is very chic and the staff are very friendly and welcoming the food was the highlight and their bar is quite exquisite. I loved the kabesh chicken. Really spicy and tasty. The two waiters were the sweetest I have met in a long time. We had a suprise birthday dinner for our friend and they were most supportive.

I’m going to give this place five stars because I really liked it. First of all, the food is good. Secondly, it’s an interesting place to sit and has a good atmosphere in the main seating area. There were a couple of hiccups. At first we were shown to the wrong table, then shown a table we didn’t like under a loudspeaker near the front. But then we were given a table we liked and it was all done with such politeness and friendly kindness, who could be annoyed. Then the vegetarian food I’d ordered was accidentally the lamb version. Again this was quickly changed with many apologies. Everyone was so nice and lovely, so truly no harm done. When the staff are so nice, anything can be forgiven. The decor of this restaurant is super clean modern and slick, with shiny surfaces, lighting up panels and smart screens showing gorgeous places. It is also worth visiting the toilets to see the lighting effects and the stones stuck onto the cisterns that look like human teeth. I will definitely go again. We loved it all.

Great restaurant! Lovely food and lovely staff

The place was terrible by all standards. We started with an unpleasant reception from a restaurant staff member who showed a lack of willingness to greet us until an Arab worker intervened, claiming that the restaurant was fully booked. However, it turned out to be untrue, as no customers entered during our stay (which reflects a discriminatory attitude). Although the food was good, the prices were quite high. We were also surprised by an additional 10% service charge. When we asked the staff to remove it, as it contradicts regulations in the Kingdom, our request was rudely rejected by the same employee, in a very offensive manner. It’s an experience not worth repeating, and I do not recommend visiting the place.

They’ve got a great £5 Chicken wrap for on the go. Loaded with chicken shawarma and some lovely fresh and sour flavors. It’s not busy when I visit during the day so don’t have to wait long for it either. (Edit: the wraps are now £6.50 at its cheapest so still a fair price but not as much of a bargain as before.)

We are frequent visitors to Persia and have never been disappointed - and our meal last night was every bit as good as we have come to expect; delicious food with attentive service and reasonable prices.

Had lunch here yesterday with my partner £14.95 for starter and main Absolutely delicious. Had the Hummos and Flatbread, mixed salad. Fresh and tasty. I had the Lamb and my partner the chicken with rice and salad. Enjoyed every mouthful. We even went for pud which we hardly ever do. Sticky toffee was Devine and the strawberry sorbet full of flavour. Our host was lovely. Super chatty and friendly. Food came out quick hot and fill of flavor. Our new favorite Persian in Hove. The bill was very reasonable. Will definitely be back. Xx

I recently dined at Persia Restraunt Hove, and it was a truly exceptional experience from start to finish. The cuisine was nothing short of brilliant. Each dish was a delightful exploration of flavors, expertly prepared and beautifully presented. The ingredients were fresh, and the traditional Iranian dishes had a perfect balance of spices that left a lasting impression. From the succulent kebabs to the flavorful stews and the delicious array of appetizers, every bite was a treat. The customer service at this restaurant is outstanding. We had an amazing experience today at Persia restaurant. We are not local, so it was a risk to try new place for us. However, food was really tasty and authentic, and very friendly service. We came for lunch and shared hummus with lamb and freshly made authentic Persian bread and 2 wraps - my favourite part was pickles inside the wrap, which makes it even better! Thank you!

I came here for my birthday last year and it was absolutely gorgeous 😍 I loved the Persian tea afterwards!

Great service, however 2/3 meals we ordered were not good - the chicken was totally dry as if it had been left under the heat for too long which you could clearly see. When we spoke to the waiter politely to let them know, we were just told that we should have said something earlier despite the food barely being eaten. We were then offered a free shot which we didn’t really want, eventually they took the optional service charge of around £6 off the bill. Really disappointing, we would probably have considered going back had they taken one of the meals off the bill given the chicken was rock hard but this wasn’t an option.

A good place for lunch. Smiling welcome, starter/main course menu at £15. With 1 good Turkish beer and 1/4 of (good) Merlot, we get two for £50. It's good and plentiful. The menu allows you to choose between 6 different dishes. On the menu, Iranian specialties. All-purpose frame but the essentials are on the plate

Came for a birthday party where it was around 18 of us. The food was amazing with big portions, service was quick and attentive, friendly and vibrant atmosphere. The owner always came to check on our table to make sure we have everything we needed and was quick to make sure any issues were rectified. I can’t rate Persia more highly, definitely my go to spot in Hove. The decor is beautiful with many spots for that photo op!

Persia is an absolutely amazing place to dine at especially with the outstanding customer service especially from nikki in particular going out of her way to ensure my family and generally being the best waitress around,perfect response time,had a good experience the atmosphere is undeniably one of a kind with the addition of belly dancers in the iranian new year

This was the first Persian food I'd eaten in a while and it really was great. Spicy potato and prawn starters - quite delicious with unusual sauces. I knew that the place to start for the mains was the chicken dishes. We ordered Zereshk Pollo and Kabseh Chicken. Wonderfully tender chicken. Subtle spices. The surprise was the rice - the zereshk rice is some of the tastiest rice I've ever eaten (and I've eaten a lot; I lived in Japan for three years). Added to this was attentive, kind service. What more can you want? We'll certainly be back.

We had a really lovely early Saturday evening meal for 3. My 5 Yr old daughter loved her Kebab Koubideh dish. The flavours of all the dishes were excellent. The cocktails first class and the staff really welcomed us and looked after us. Will definitely be back for more to taste more of the menu!

*compulsory service charge, poor service, mediocre food, and rude floor manager* Honestly, the only thing I can credit this place for is the interior- very aesthetically pleasing. However, the food was very average, especially in comparison to Shiraz (another Persian restaurant) down the street. The rice tasted undercooked, and the grilled dishes are very dry. Aesthetic definitely is not everything, so if you want good food, go to Shiraz. Each issue: Upon arrival, despite being told we could sit where we like by a waiter, we were demanded by the manager(?) to “SIT THERE”, gesturing in a direction. Very rude, and so we obviously ignored him. The service was disappointing. My drink came very very late, and the manager’s excuse for this was that “it takes long to make”. Bear in mind, I ordered a pina colada and everyone else who came after us got their drinks before me. Infuriating excuse. Additionally, my partner’s fork fell on the floor. Our waiter said they’d replace it, but never did. So he had to take one from another table. The menu is misleading. We ordered hummus which says on the menu that you can add bread, but there was no price so it comes across as free. When the bill came, another £5 was added for bread! Another misleading factor is that the grilled dishes says they come with either chips, salad, or rice. I picked chips, and ordered an extra side of salad because I wanted that also. But when my dish came, there was chips and salad on it. So I paid for a whole other bowl of salad for no reason. Their menu is lazy and confusing, and we had to lose money for the mistakes. The service charge is £6+, even though the service was noticeably poor in several ways. We queried this service charge when we got the bill, and this is when the manager then invalidates the issues we had. We ended up paying to avoid a scene, because he was clearly so convinced by the absolute rubbish leaving his mouth. Not impressed- don’t let the gold stairs lure you into this place.

I had such a bad time while visiting Persia we ordered our drinks and they came out 15 -20 mintues after and the restaurant was empty and we waited over an hour for our food to arrive bare in mind it was pretty much empty and the bill comes and you have to pay a service charge which you don't know about because they put it in the small print that no one looks at we refused to pay which the server said we didn't have to pay anyway we was about to leave and another lady comes up to us demanding we pay and we have to because it's in the small print and when we started go question it she started getting rude to us food was okay wouldn't go again

Such a beautiful place with very kind and welcoming staff. The owner is a super nice and friendly guy and the chefs are all lovely and great chefs. The waitresses are all so nice. Had a great experience spending my birthday there. Definitely would recommend. Food was delicious and it was a birthday well spent there.

Really good food, super smart restaurant and very friendly staff presence. Manager was sprinting from kitchen to table with 3 plates of lamb. Bro was going for Olympic 100m gold medal (world record), Usain Bolt will be quaking in his spikes.

Went recently to this restaurant and the guy in charge (not sure if he was owner),was rude and arrogant! I recieved the wrong dish and through no fault of my own was not only charged more but made to feel foolish! The food was mediocre for the price and bottled water £3 for small ! At the end of the meal as we were with a party had to work out our own payment (he gave a calculator) ,charged us service without option and didn't give receipt for cash payment! I would certainly never go there again and the guy was rude and certainly not interested in the customer needs! Overpriced food and lousy service,no thanks!

STAY AWAY!!!! Myself, my friend & 34 year old daughter (all female) had a 6.30pm booking on 18th November. The waiter tried to rush us into ordering a drink & food, as soon as we sat down. My daughter asked if they had bottled coke, he said what kind of place do you think this is, look around you, you think a place like this serves coke on a pump. He completely patronised & embarrassed my daughter! I asked a question about the chicken dish & he raised his voice, was condescending, rude & arrogant. He tried to make me look stupid, telling me, he's worked in restaurants 24 years, how he knows everything about restaurants & menus, as if I knew nothing. I said I'm asking if it contains chicken, a simple yes or no would have surficed & there was no need for rudeness to myself or my daughter. He continuously referred to my daughter as her, as if she was beneath him! I was shaking & asked if we could have a different waiter. He said no, so I said I don't think we can stay here with your arrogant attitude towards us, I'm shaking. He said pay for your drink & you can go. We were there less than 10 minutes & were left distressed, shaking & absolutely shocked & horrified at this incredibly disturbing experience! This waiter actually frightened me!! Never ever would we recommend this restaurant! The most arrogant, patronising person I've ever met in my 59 years! Then the waiter puts comments under my review acusing ME of being rude! WOW!! He also says I was nervous, yes of course I was nervous, a big man standing over me, raising his voice & telling me over & over again, I am sure of myself, I am sure of myself, when my daughter & I simply asked a question!! Do you serve coke in a bottle & do you have to order the chicken separately, simple! If you are the owner, I'd strongly recommend you stay in your office & stay away from the customers, especially female customers, before you lose them all! It's a good job our husbands were not with us, but then again, you wouldn't have spoken to us like that if our husbands were there!! Good professional business owners would have apologised to us after my review, but your response just highlights your arrogance further!! You should be ashamed of yourself treating women like that!!!!! You obviously went straight on to the reviews because you knew you were so completely unprofessional, condescending, rude, arrogant & patronising, so knew that we would put a bad review! We went out for a nice relaxing evening & were left completely stressed, shocked & horrified!!!

Went on the 25/10/23 for my gorgeous friend Kevin’s birthday, from the get go the service was great , the owner and Kay were so helpful and so hospitable and made the evening. I will say if you don’t like big displays for a birthday this might not be the place for you but we all loved it it was great. The food was soooo delicious, the mint sauce was divine and my friends saffron rice was out of this world. Thank you Persia, see you soon !! Xxx

Had a terrible time at this restaurant. On entering I thought how lovely the decor was, but the service and attitude of the staff was appalling. The food was ok but very expensive for what it is. The rice was bland and flavourless and the salad soggy. . The cocktail was really lovely although at £15 very expensive and as we weren’t offered any more drinks all evening that is the only one I can mention. The staff are rude and argumentative and not at all apologetic about their poor service. Very disappointed and won’t be returning.

Went here last night to celebrate my birthday with friends . Pre booked and was told it was for a birthday. They took our order and when it came out it all came out together starters and mains and wrong orders. I called the waiter over to say the orders wrong and we only want our starters first to be told you ordered it all together. Yes you took our order all together but that doesn’t mean bring everything at once. You have starters first then maims (surely) commen sense. They took it away with an attitude. We choose to ignore this. Then the starters came back and dishes were given that we hadn’t even ordered. Finally had the starters and eventually got our mains. All these were wrong so we had to swap different foods around on the plates ourselfs as they were stroppy because we had mentioned they were wrong. We didn’t want to cause a scene so just left it but really we should have sent them back and asked for them to be done as ordered. After this they never returned to our table to ask if we needed anymore drinks any desserts nothing. Our tables were never cleared away at all. We had to ask them to clear the plates. They never acknowledged my birthday but did on other tables. We waited just incase it was still going to happen but no nothing again. We then asked for the bill as by this time our patients had run out and my birthday was ruined and not once did anyone say sorry. When the bill finally came they had the cheek to charge service charge which normally I’m happy to pay when I’ve had good service. This I’m afraid was far from good service. My friend went up to the waiter to say I’m sorry but I don’t think we should pay for service charge when it’s been terrible from start to finish everything was wrong. To be told he’s new. Well I’m sorry that’s not our fault. Not once did we hear oh I’m so sorry for this pleas except our apologies. No. Just had the receipt ripped out our hand and walked off. He then returned to our table and threw the bill and walked off (how rude ) I would never return to this restaurant again nor would I recommend them as I wouldn’t want them to experience what we did. It should have been a lovely meal and lovely experience especially as it was my birthday but instead it was a complete nightmare. Manners cost nothing and go a long way. You should try this to your customers.

Very disappointing, no value for money, the price doesn't make sense at all. First time seeing persian food that charges separate for rice, persian food is all about rice.It's like ordering beef steer fry noodle in a Chinese restaurant and they charge you separately for the noodle. The taste is very basic and staff are not helpful. There are other Persian restaurants on the same road that have better quality persian food and nicer staff. I will not return.

We didn’t have a reservation however they accommodated us on a Saturday evening. Persia has had a makeover, flower walls, light up gold staircase. I assume that this is what had attracted tables of people who were wandering around taking selfies for the ‘insta’ who appeared more interested in this than sitting down for a meal. Each to their own, however when I needed the toilet , I had to navigate them posing up a storm on the staircase. The food was good. The KASHKE BADEMJAN was a highlight. Very friendly waiters who provided good service. Overall good however I’m not sure if I’d return.

We'd spotted this lovely place while exploring Hove and after watching the sunset on the shore, decided to head back for a late supper. And I'm SO glad we did! Warmly greeted, seated nicely by the big open windows, our Margaritas arrived very quickly. They were spot-on. Strong with an indulgent salt-rim. D chose the Kabseh Chicken (with rice of course); I opted for the Jooje Kebab Off The Bone (with chips of course!). Chicken perfectly cooked, that really nice smoky charring but not dry. We're thinking about Hove as our new home - which means we'll certainly be coming back to Persia!
