Shan Shui in Hillingdon

For some reason I had never frequented Shan Shui before - but I certainly will again when I'm next at Heathrow Terminal 2. On this first visit, I tried all of the different prawn dimsum and I would happily try them all again - for me, the Sichuan chilli oil wonton was the standout.

Brilliant food....really flavoursome! Great service by Savo.....a Sicilian ray of sunshine! Pls tip him ....he's very funny and incredibly welcoming!!!! Myanmar lady/maybe owner was fantastic also! The prices were not as steep as the other restaurants so I decided to give it a try. I was shown to a very pathetic table spot at the corner and immediately I asked for another. The waiter who took my order was not helpful at all. I pointed to him on the menu a Chinese type of tea , because the name was hilariously a direct translation from Chinese word. I felt awkward to pronounce it. But he insisted that I say it . I ordered a king prawn fried rice. The prawns were semi deep fried which I thought was very tasteful and well done by the Chef. The rice was a let down. Instead of fragrant , it was a bit oily and a slight spicy taste due to the chilli flakes within. It didn't go well for me. Maybe other dishes could possibly be better? I don't know. I may visit again.

I had a long wait at the Terminal and found rescue in the restaurant where I could destress and forget for a while I was at an airport. Easily done at Shan Shui! The air was cool, the staff fast, efficient and friendly, lots of space between the tables. The food arrived within 10 min! I had fried udon noodles with mushrooms and veggies and a few crispy vegetable spring rolls (plenty of vegetarian dishes to choose from). The food was delicious and the portions are very generous. Special thanks to “my” waiter Majot who was very service minded and genuinely friendly. Would highly recommend to anyone who wants to get away from the hustle and bustle of the airports and have a delicious meal.

I typically prepare my own meals prior to taking a flight because I usually find that a lot of these restaurants take advantage of having a captive audience. I felt led to go eat in Shan Shui even though I had haughtily walked past it about 20 minutes earlier. I was so glad I did, I was taken into the back - it was quiet and I ordered the duck, cucumber salad and egg noodles. I thought this would be just enough with a little left over in case I got hungry later on. I ended up with TWO take away containers of food and whatsmore it was so delicious! When I arrived at my destination I was kicking myself that I didn't order the whole duck. Service there is so friendly - not just from one or two of the staff - but ALL the staff are friendly. By the time I left I was stuffed full of good food, I had my left overs packed snuggly and still tasted just as good two days later. The only downside is I ended up trying to find food similar to this in the country I went to but the Chinese restaurants weren't as nice.

Less busy looking than other restaurants at the airport, there is a large back area where you can watch the planes. Veggie noodles were a hit and duck with rice was a miss.

We come here regularly for a bite before flying and are never disappointed. The food is good and service is fast and always friendly. Shout out to Manjot and the 2 supervisor ladies who are fabulously efficient. We’ll be back

Incorrectly charge for my meal, refunded and then charged again on 27th November. The refund still not in my bank account on the 10th December so effectively charged twice for the meal. Shouldn’t take so long, shouldn’t have to chase.

Manjot was my waiter for the morning. He was very polite and professional. The food come out promptly and was at a good heat.

One of the best airport restaurants. The food was tasty with big portions. The service from Desislava was excellent - very professional and very friendly. I did like that even before my order was taken I was asked if I had any allergies. Highly recommend the Lychee Martini.

Went here today, this place is our breakfast spot whenever we are at Heathrow airport. This time will be our last time. The wonton noodle soup has no flavour and the wontons were not cooked through, it's cold and hard. Come on, it's not even fresh made wontons, how difficult is it to put the wontons in boiling water for a few minutes longer? Worst thing is: they serve uncooked tapioca bubble tea. I told them and I received a new one but it was still hard. I hope they know how poisonous it is to serve uncooked tapioca pearls. Saw another table also leaving their bubble tea on the table but not every person know how tapioca peals should taste so it's incredible dangerous. However the people working there are always friendly.

Amazing experience! Food was great and great ambiance. My girlfirend and I have been traveling for six weeks and our server, Divina, was by far the most attentive, friendly server we have had. Thanks for making it a great last meal, Divina!

Not Chinese at all. The dumplings are frozen dumplings that you can buy in stores. They serve kikoman soy sauce with the dumplings! Outrageous. It is a poor representation of Chinese food.
