Summer China in Hillingdon

My first time using Summer Chinese. Since my local Chinese closed in Covid and never reopened, I’ve struggled to find a Chinese I like. I’m very fussy. I ordered plain Chow Main and chicken balls with BBQ sauce. Absolutely amazing, one of the best I’ve tried. Portions are large! Even though I elected for a large portion of chow main. The BBQ sauce was spot on. Really enjoyed my take away. The shop is clean and I loved watching the fish. The young lady behind the counter was polite and respectful. Parking was easy on the road, due to the time I went, it wasn’t too busy. Fantastic place. Thanks

This is a really tasty Chinese. Really deserve the rating they have.

Food arrived 20 mins early and hot. However food did not have a lot of flavour like it normally does. We were disappointed.

The quantity was good. However I was under the impression Kung Pao Chicken is meant to be spicy but this version was sweet. Which was unusual. The rice Singapore Rice was excellent. However only order the chips if you live near by, if the delivery has to travel then the chips do dry out. Lastly the Fried Beef in Oyster Sauce was top notch.

vegetables with prawns packed with different veg and lots of crunchy prawns. the rest of the order was just as tasty and delivered with a smile and friendly help.

Had the worst Chinese ever, phoned them and was not satisfied with there response so emailed them and received no reply, very expensive and terrible food.

We enjoy this restaurant for the last 9 years and believed was one of the few or the only good one of the area. I understand prices have increased everywhere but the quality of the food shouldn't change. Unfortunatly the last two times the main components beef/chicken dishes are mostly disappeared, the duck we get tonight looks like crumps (leftovers) from all other ducks you sold before, the fried egg rice has bearly any egg, dumplins are much much smallers, breaded chicken was thiner and harder. We normally ask the same things so we honestly noticed easily (we have paid double to what we normally paid before). You are also charging for delivery when a few years ago was free. We are a family of 8 and we order just a few times a year from Summer China, so we would like to enjoy these only occasions. Please make sure to keep the standards for next time we order. Thanks

It's a nice and tidy place but you have to eat on their way so by sticks cos no forks served 😄

Pretty poor overall. The pork balls were tough as old boots. The lemon chicken was overcooked. I wouldn't have been surprised if it was yesterday's food reheated. Prawn toast deep-fried with very little topping. Very poor. I'm not sure how it has such a good rating unless it's been fiddled.

First time here ,spent 50 and got to say the food was 10/10 Amazing, I got a variety of dishes and they were all really good, even to look at. Will defo be ordering again!!! :)

The best Chinese food we have ever had . Food arrived steaming hot , really big portions too . Everything was delicious. Chicken chow mien had large strips of tender chicken . Kung po chicken , unbelievably tender , crispy sesame prawns , perfect . Crispy chilli beef , gorgeous. Definitely order again !

Egg fried rice wasn’t fried, food was bland and tasteless.

Food was a bit dry like it had been reheated and the spicy noodles weren’t very spicey

The best Chinese I’ve ever had. No other Chinese tastes the same. When I eat Chinese usually it’s just average but summer china is always so so tasty every time. Cooked to perfection!

Hot crispy tasty tender chicken quantity great

Freshly made delicious chinese food. We love the duck soft noodles, the sweet and sour chicken and every single dish we ever ordered was faultless. Each meal comes with complimentary prawn crackers which the kids love and they even do the fortune cookies I love that the meals are not too oily yet taste is not compromised

Food was decent quality, and portion sizes were great. The food comes in take away boxes with clear tops making it very easy to see what dishes you are opening, which is helpful.

Everything was allright except chop suey didn't have any salt nor vegetables very blend not recommended at all.

Perhaps I was unlucky but some of the food was over cooked (bbq ribs/prawn crackers). The main chicken course was bland. The special rice was decent.

Something has changed, the food is not quality controlled. Crab sweetcorn soup was no tasteless, had to season myself. Pork balls greasy and too much batter not enough meat. The. Satay sauce for a bizarre reason was really spicy! Someone is not checking what goes out. As a regular, I am unlikely to order again.

Since they got new guys working on counter it not the same even the foods has changed 😒

Pork balls nearly all empty of meat Chips didn’t taste cooked properly

Ordered here for years but something changed in the last year or so, wonton soup is now hot and sour soup with won tons (tried this multiple times and it was not a one-off). Singapore rice now dry. Have switched to alternatives nearby unfortunately. If the chef changes back to who you had before, let me know ill give it another try.

Repeat customers for several years. Friendly staff & service both in store and for delivery, which is fast and the food consistently arrives hot. Great care taken with cleanliness and very clearly sign-posted allergy information is much appreciated. The prices are slightly higher than other restaurants in the area but in our opinion the quality of the food and service justifies the cost. The vegetarian of the group would love to see more veggie options as mentioned by other reviews: some veg fried rice would be great, or offering soy/seitan/etc as an alternative to chicken in some dishes shouldn't be too much trouble!

A little bit of good food and some not so good. Star of the show was definitely the crispy duck. Probably the nicest I have had in Ruislip. The pork balls had too much excess batter and the noodles were unfortunately tasteless and with very little meat. Beef in black bean was ok.

The delivery driver was miserable, but the food was lovely.

AVOID - save your money, worse Chinese I have been too in a long time!! Food inedible! Called to express my concerns to no avail therefore requested a refund - denied by management! I will never waste my money or time on this appalling place!

The food was amazing I will definitely order again. The only issue I personally had was it was delivered 20 minutes early so someone had to reheat there food but other then that it was fantastic (Normally the earlier the better xD) thanks !

The hot and sour soup was excellent. All of the other dishes were so so, not enough flavour. The counter in the place is completely covered in see through plastic. Somebody tell them the pandemic is over.

Moved into the area a few months ago and tried this place a few times because of the high reviews. After a few goes, have to say it's great. Very tasty food and cheap.

Ordered a takeaway this evening and very disappointed. Food looked and tasted not fresh. Was also not that hot on collection. Hate to say it but wouldn’t surprise me if it was food cooked the day before and just heated up. Don’t think I’ll be going back to this place

Honestly if you care about you health do not order just been in hospital for 2 weeks nearly dying because of food poisoning I never really eat out but thought ide treat myself to a nice Chinese as the reviews where quite pleasant boy oh boy worst thing I done food tasted horrible to start of with tasteless and was rushed to hospital with severe food poisoning even doctors told me stay away from there !!!!!!!!!!!! Pure and utterly unhygienic and taste stale and awful .
