Shampan 2 - Bromley in Bexley

Food was excellent and service was excellent we would recommend anything from the tandoor section. Atmosphere was very nice staff were attentive.

I wanted to leave a review for this lovely restaurant. The team at Shampan in Chatterton Road are welcoming and the standard of delicious food is the best I have ever eaten. The cocktails are also handcrafted and very tasty and leave you wanting another one. I cannot recommend the Shampan enough...a real jewel in Bromley for dining out. cannot wait to go back.

This was my first visit to Shampan and I was blown away the moment I stepped into the restaurant. The decor is beautiful and the smell as you enter is so pleasant and fragrant but not overpowering. My son, his wife and their daughter had been there on numerous occasions and commented about the food and impeccable service! We all had a beautiful experience. The staff are very professional and very attentive without being intrusive. I am looking forward to returning. The restaurant is very clean, relaxing, not over crowded and a must have experience. The food was beautiful and more than enough left for us to take home with us!

There were 7 of us celebrating a birthday and we were given a table for 2 pushed close to a circular table which made conversation difficult and the 2 people felt disconnected from the main table. We waited a long time for our food almost an hour and the drinks menu was inaccurate. The food was generally good but the man breads could have been better.

Came for Father's Day a group of 4 people and had the buffet We were very impressed with the choice of food, service and value for money. I had been to the restaurant before and the food was lovely, so decided to go again and try the buffet and I wasn’t disappointed. Would defiantly recommend to anyone who enjoys Indian cuisine.

Pre-booked this restaurant for a Father's day 'eat as much as you like' Sunday buffet. The food was delicious, hot, varied and plentiful. It was well presented. The ambience of the restaurant is pleasant. Customer service was excellent and the staff have personalities!. There was no subtle psychological pressure not to 'eat as much as you like' as you get in many such restaurants. Constructive feedback: We were offered poppadoms but it was not explained at the time that these were not part of the set price. This should be made clearer upon offering. The Cokes served were flat. We had to ask for replacements. Suggest management ensure bottles are fresh. Would definitely return. Had a great lunch.

First off, let me say I have been a customer of Shampan for many years. Until tonight. Ordered a takeaway. It arrived crushed and inedible. Hey, mistakes happen. But upon ringing the restaurant to resolve, the he guy could not have given less of a toss. His “proposal” was for him to replace ONE of the dishes, when it is quite clear the whole meal was ruined. Oh, and he wanted us to go and pick it up too. Great way to treat a loyal customer pal. Gotta ask yourself, is it worth the gamble to buy from Shampan?

I visited for a meal with my wife and children on Saturday. Food was fantastic. We ordered cocktails Virgin Muhito and it was very tasty.

A fantastic evening event at The Shampan, Bromley. We had a party of 70 and the staff couldn't be more accommodating. They provided a buffet service which was wonderful. Would recommend this place for any function.

Why we visited Sampan Bromley? We have been looking for a restaurant to have Sunday Buffet lunch at reasonable price and with many items to taste. We have seen few other restaurants around Bromley do the Buffet but we selected this restaurant as the picture(on the website) provided in Buffet section is tempting and looks like there are many items Actual Experience: When we arrived there, we were shocked. Here is why - 1) Less than 11 items in Buffet and that was including Salad items. Here were the items: Here are the items: Starters: a) Salads (too basic) b) Chicken tikka (taste - 3 out of 5) c) Lamb sheikh kebab (taste - 3 out of 5) d) Onion bhajji (taste - cold and soggy so, 2 out of 5) Main Course: a) Naan(plain and dry) and Rice b) Shaag Aloo (taste - 3.5 out of 5) c) veg jalfrezi (taste- 2 out of 5) d) Chicken tikka masala (taste - horrible- as an Indian, never seen chicken tikka masala with coconut - 0 out of 5) e) Chicken masala (taste - 2 out of 5) f) Rogan ghos(lamb) (taste - 3.5 out of 5) Dessert: a) Fruits(gapes, pineapple , melons) - does it call dessert? Not Sure 2) No chutneys or sauces are available for starters 3) Taste wise, the items are not close to Authentic Indian dishes 4) Shocked to see that there is no Dessert item Overall Food Rating: 2 out of 5 We strongly Believe that This Restaurant is. - NOT TO TRY

First time at Shampan Bromley last night and it was lovely. The food was really tasty, service was great. Served by several different waiters all very pleasant, nothing was too much. We thought value for money was excellent . We’re used to eating out in Beckenham so costs much more. Think this is a little hidden gem

I must say its my favourite restaurant. You are always welcomed and remembered. Its comfortable and have a lovely atmosphere. The staff are extraordinary they are knowledgeable about the menu and very attentive ad friendly. My meal was just gorgeous, presented with style and looked and smelled amazing. I cleared the plate. I never usually have a desert but here I always do..its a great restaurant and I'm yet to find another that comes close.

The restaurant it’s self is a nice environment The buffet was ok didn’t have all the dishes it advertises was kept very low at all times so you felt you couldn’t take more than one piece of meat at a time otherwise the next person wouldn’t get any. Not really any starter bits rice hard and crispy had to be careful of our teeth. Asked if there was any more lamb at 4 was told no and they still had an hour of trading as a buffet. We felt liked we was being urged to finish up and go as we were the last customers. I wish I had gone somewhere else for my birthday lunch. Won’t go back in a rush if at all to be honest. One waiter was abit annoying trying to be jokey hanging around. On the other hand had we been drinkers and was spending more money I reckon it would have been abit different. Plus dessert was a tiny plate of fruit by the bar which was a laughable. You rate your self and get awards but I wouldn’t rate what we got on Sunday.

Really lovely meal, scallops to start were lovely! Food was well presented and great size portions.

Smashing food, attentive but not intrusive service

Excellent food, been eating here for well over 20+ years and never had a bad meal. far better than any other Indian restaurant we have found.

Not a great of choice for vegans but we managed and it's lovely as always.

Arrived and seated straight away drinks ordered and arrived within minutes , ..poppadoms and chutneys arrived very nice , wife had Keralan spiced King Prawns and i had Chicken Tikka Dhansak with Mushroom rice and a Baby aubergine side ..did not have to wait to long even though restaurant busy ...food was excellent very tasty and the Keralan spiced King Prawns were very well presented and included rice ,Dhansak sweet sour and well spiced excellent ,side dishes and rice etc as expected very good, all in all a great meal ,excellent staff attentive but not over the top .very generous portions and mid priced with a couple of rounds of wine and beers , coffees and 12.5% service under a £100 highly recommended.

Ambience and service were great. Much of the food was very tasty and beautifully presented, however, the spice level wasn't listed on the menu and many dishes came too hot to be edible. Would have been good to mention on the menu. Also, I was presented with an allergen menu and spoke to waiter, but I have been ill since my visited, so I would suggest it is not suitable for anyone with Coeliac or any other allergy that they need to be careful with. Such a shame as the atmosphere was nice.

I arrived early and before our party. The waiter was very friendly and courteous, took my overcoat and showed me to our table where I was offered a drink while I waited. The service and the food were fantastic. I live local and this is now one of my go to restaurants. It was our work Christmas meal and Shampan helped make it a great little night out.

After years of hearing how great the restaurant was we was very disappointed. The food wasn’t good and when asked if we enjoyed our food we said no there was no acknowledgement then presented with a large bill for an overall standard experience.

We have enjoyed the sunday buffet, have naan, rice and some traditional Indian food, all of these were delicious.

Had a charity dinner in aid of The Freddie Farmer Foundation - a local charity helping children with cerebral palsey. There were 42 of us in the function room downstairs and I can't praise the staff enough . Alam looked after us and Siraj helped me organise everything. The food was superb and everyone had a great time. Would highly recommend this place for your function or even just go for dinner !

Went for a meal with my husband here last night, he recommended it as he used o be a regular. Food was greasy and no flavour, my husband ordered a fish dish which didn’t smell great. We had lamb chops which had hardly any meat on them. Food was greasy and bland and for £85 for a meal with only a couple of soft drinks, was not worth the money. When I told the waiter the food wasn’t great and lamb chops had no meat on them he laughed. To top it off, I’ve been pretty unwell all night after the meal at Shampan. We took the leftovers home with us but they will be going in the bin. Never again would I eat here, I did pass that feedback on as well but the waiters found that amusing!

Best curry house going, try it and your see. Sizzling Tandoori Kings prawns are the size of chicken legs, the best, amazing.

Stunning food! Great service, restaurant was really nice and clean. Toilets were spotless too. Chicken shashlik was sooooo good! So we’re the scallops - everything we ate was delicious. Not overpriced either will defo be back.

We dined at Shampan when visiting friends recently. Every single aspect of this restaurant was superb. We were very impressed. We were asked if this is the best Indian Restaurant we had been to. We couldn't honestly be certain, but we have never been to a better one! We are looking forward to returning when next in the area.

Eaten here many times and the food gets better every time. It was quiet for a Saturday night but that maybe because of the European Champions League Final taking place. As I have said, the food appears to get better on every visit and the menu continues to evolve.

If you have a teenage daughter do not take her , the whole evening a waiter basically stared at my daughter even around little corners , we even filmed it , food ok , prawns and scallops not fresh and tasted old , big portions and ambiance good for big parties , but we will not be going back , just too creepy with the waiter

Great food, friendly staff. Not your usual Indian dishes are available if you fancy something out of the norm. Great standard of service. Everything up to their usual high standards.

This is a favorite place if ours as a treat. My dad is down for the weekend so thought we'd take him. We had our usual lamb Madras with basmati rice this time & naan bread & decided to try a fish dish. We order haddock in a coconut curry with shredded crab, this dish also came with coconut rice. Oh my. The fish dish was Amazing. My boyfriend wasn't sure about having fish with curry but he said it's the best curry he's had! We did order an extra rice but all this was plenty enough for the 3 of us. Can't believe we didn't take any photos, as usual as the presentation of the fish dish was lovely too!

The food was very very expensive £71 per person after drinks were deducted. The wine was not great quality & The Cocktails were tasteless, service average. There was a large table of people which were so noisy we could hardly hear ourselves talk, at no time were this group asked to quieten down. Won’t be back.
