Moghul in Bexley

Always used this Indian When we lived in London. So staying with relatives was really excited to use it again . It’s so sad it has really gone down hill. I ordered a chicken madras that was greasy and lacking flavor also both mine and my husbands chicken was very tough,he had a Malayan which he said was very pasty. Such a shame as it was always our favorite but won’t be returning 😔

The food was delicious and the service was great. We were left alone quite a bit, which to be fair is a good thing because we weren’t being rushed, but we did have to call out as and when we needed anything.

The moghul… the food was superb. A lot of different dishes on the menu. Restaurant had a lovely atmosphere … would highly recommend we had a perfect evening.

Staff were lovely- very friendly and great service- food was fabulous, we had an excellent evening and will definitely be returning, Highly Recommend

Poor service recieved from the manager. His level of customer service was unsatisfactory he was rude and inattentive. I was sorely disappointed with my dining experience and I will definitely not be returning to this establishment.

Great decor, service and food, recommended. The Dhansak needs a lot of improving, though, so you might want to skip that.

Would not recommend at all. The food was cold when it arrived so it was reheated in the microwave. The service was shocking, no attention to people needing drinks had to keep asking The bill had £40 of extra drinks on it luckily I spotted this and it got corrected but not worth the money will never be going back. One of the worst curry houses I have ever been too a complete waste of money along with an automatic service charge on the bill which I wished I had asked to be removed.

Booked a table for 7 people & had to change booking time at short notice. Nothing was too much trouble prior to booking & that continued on the night we visited the restaurant. Good food for all & excellent service.

Always good service but more importantly great food. More expensive than most but always a very good meal

Food and service as usual was excellent however it was spoilt when we asked for an additional small bowl of tikka masala sauce. We were shocked when the bill came and we were charged £4.90 which with tips comes to c£5.50. Virtually half the cost of a full meal. We are regulars there so mistakenly thought they would just give it to us. Very disappointed.

It’s clear only the finest undgredience is used in the amazingly flavasome curries dishes you will have the pleasure of being presented with in sophisticated surrounding. We travel a well worth 45 minutes to this venue, already a repeat customer and looking forward to our next visit! A must try!

It was our 11yr wedding anniversary and we celebrated with a meal at the restaurant. The meal was delicious and the staff were very attentive to our needs. Will definitely be visiting the restaurant again

I have eaten here several times with friends and have always had a wonderful time - this time I came with my husband and it didn't disappoint. The service was exemplary and the food was as delicious as always. The staff are efficient and professional but also exceptionally warm and friendly. We had a great time and I shall definitely be back again soon.

Best curry house in all of London. Better than Dishoom (!!). All waiters are lovely and the vibe is fantastic. Curries are fabulous and no matter what you get you’re always impressed by the flavours. Masala Chai is also nice and spicy! Would recommend this to anyone but make sure you book in advance.

Always a warm welcome. I had the Moghul platter for the first time. Now a firm favorite. The wife had her usual Chicken korma. Just superb.

The food wasn’t good enough. You don’t get what you pay. Never again!!

Noisy , cramped , rushed service , food average but expensive. Got order Wrong twice and paid £7.50 for cobra ! I was shocked how expensive it was poppdoms broken into triangles ???? and a side salad which consisted of 1 slice of cucumber we won’t be coming again !!!

Have always loved this Indian restaurant. Their speciality dishes especially are delicious! And really enjoyed the creamy kulfi dessert. Considering it was a very busy Friday night, service was top notch. It is pricier than your normal curry house but worth it for the odd treat!

Must admit it was the best Indian meal I have had in a few months. 🙂

I was treated to a birthday meal at The Moghul by my sister and brother-in-law. We went early - about 6 p m and it was pretty quiet. The food was excellent as was the service. By the time we left at about 7.15 p m it was starting to get quite busy. The restaurant is clean and well set out and the expansion a few years ago made a big difference. The Manager said he has been there for a lot of years! Recommended. 🙂

Visited Monday evening with some work colleagues and had a superb meal. Really good service, great food and good value. Restaurant is spotlessly clean and smartly presented. Plenty of space and comfortable. They also do a Monday / Tuesday special that looked great value for £20 Thankyou Ajmol and team for looking after is so well

It's been a while since we've been to the Moghul, and as ever, the food and service were tip top.

Folks, I’d suggest avoiding the Lamb chops (well over cooked). Commend the zero wastage policy, good attempt to salvage. Peshwari nann was soft and cloudy, Chicken mains were very Good!!

I've been coming to The Moghul for years. It's a lovely restuarant, food and service always top notch. However, sadly we won't be visiting again any time soon. We all know there is a cost of living crisis but £18.90 for a main dish (chicken shaslik) is just beyond. I visited with a friend and we ordered boiled rice, sag paneer, bombay potatoes, onion bhaji and chicken shaslik which we shared. Diet coke and a red wine. We were shocked when the bill came in at over £70. We had been there a month before and only paid £55 for exactly the same meal. I queried the price as I thought that was extortionate for a main dish, but nope it was right, an increase of £15+ is ridiculous. Sadly I think they have outpriced themselves, for us.

Service was very poor. Sat for an hour then asked if we’d like our food. When it came 2 meals were totally wrong. So by the time the right meals came 3 of us had practically finished our food. Pure shambles. Drinks orders incorrect. Been many times before but not sure I’d go back again. £200 for a rubbish experience !

Great food. Great atmosphere but a little to loud

All the food is great and full of flavour, all the staff are great and it’s a nice restaurant to be in. A little on the pricey side but well worth it in my opinion. Plus if the price is a major factor, they do a good deal on Monday’s.

Food was delivered and was warm. Since when has baby potatoes been used in a aloo gobi? Taste is bland. Chicken is chewy. The obly thing with a bit of taste is the garlic naan. Not worth £36!

Food delivered. Overall it was ok but the bag of poppadoms with chutney didn't come with any chutney and it was just a bag of broken bits so not overly happy with that but rest of food was okay, would I use again? Probably not.

Great service, very nice food (and a lot of it!) Will defiantly be returning again. The only downside to the visit was that we found the tables quite small considering it is a restaurant that you would have multiple dishes would expect to be more room.

We ordered a takeaway last weekend. It was unfortunately really poor. Usually happy to pay more at the moghul for the better quality of food, however tonight the price couldn’t be justified. The madras was total rubbish, very little meat, of poor quality, in a bland and runny sauce. This and everything else on the order was stone cold. Emailed the restaurant but received no response. Will use our more local restaurant for take away next time. The food will be just as bad but at least it will cost half the price

Not a great meal. everything was only lukewarm, the chicken dopiaza was far too spicy and was swimming in oil. The naan breads and pilau rice were acceptable but by no means the best. The restaurant was very busy and very noisy, so possibly we would have had a better meal at a quieter time. Sadly, we won’t be revisiting.

Good food and service, BUT low ceilings, and hard surfaces make this a very noisy environment. When its not busy probably OK, but when busy its difficult to hold a conversation ! Why didn't they include some absorbent surfaces !

Its a nice spacious restaurant with air con( as we tried it in a heat wave) we tried it the other day and we both had a good meal with good size portions which we enjoyed. we liked the friendly service. It had a good menu and we had 2 meals with beers and 2 corses came to about £58 however one thing that really really annoys me is the "discretionally service charge" of 10% which is automatically added to your bill,I paid it this time as I thought it was worth it but I like to decide without an argument how much I should tip!!

Just had a chicken NAGA which is out of their menu but it's very popular dish, told them to make it hot and spicy but unfortunately one of the worse dish from mogul chef and the waiter was really unprofessional.

We have not been here for probably 6 months and was not impressed! Garlic chilli chicken and peri peri jalfrezi mains were swimming in oil and tasted almost identical. Prices have increased £2/£3 per dish and although service was pleasant no effort was made to chat like they used to, not sure where the man who used to be manager had gone but we always felt welcomed by him and we were regulars for years. End of meal no complimentary drinks offered despite spending £82 unfortunately we will not be back shame as we can get better food service and value for money at The Darjeeling up the road perhaps that is why it was quite empty

Food, service & setting here are excellent - it is worth the money. The chicken makanwala in particular is absolutely delicious

Very nice restaurant with good ambiance, nicely decorated and clean. Service was a muddle, I honestly think there were too many waiters and they didn’t communicate. Orders of drinks came pretty quick but they missed the non-alcoholic one. Food orders were taken on tablets and we felt very rushed to order starters. They also arrived at the table very quickly. Whilst eating starters we were asked for our orders of mains (not very professional in my opinion) at least let me finish my starter ! Food was lovely and had no issues with anything coming out cold (as previous reviewers had said ). We did however have one issue where a guest asked for a chicken dish and a prawn one was bought out instead, the waiter insisted she said she asked for prawn and also insisted she ate it ! Also not very professional. Drinks came thick and fast and food came very quickly but the table wasn’t cleared for almost an hour after we had eaten, we were offered desert but everyone of them was frozen solid, maybe they could have let them defrost for 10 minutes before bringing them out ! We were in there 3 and half hours and were made to feel welcome but they really must adjust their service timing. Food was all really good so I would return.

There is literally no salt or spice in there Indian Cooking . 37 Pounds for what ???? I am shocked at the taste !!! I am sure all the reviews are paid cos the food is disgusting !!! We ordered Lamb Tikka Masala, Lamb Tikka Masala and Tadka. The gravy in two masala curries taste the same. It is so sweet. It tastes like the gravy is made in batch, and different meats are added to the same gravy. Terrible Terrible food. I never have the patience to review any foods but this is the worst food I have ever tasted in my life.The food isn’t even worth 10GBP, but we paid 37 Freaking Pounds !!

Me and a friend visited here tonight and was disgusted with how rushed we was to order food and then for the food to be cold. upon telling the waiter the chicken main was cold the rude response and blank stare was appalling we hadn't even finished our starters to then be told our main is ready when we hadn't even finished with starters it's awlful and definitely isn't somewhere I'd be visiting again

The standards have changed. Normally they are good but tonight my Mumbai aloo was watery and greasy.

For the second time I saw New Year in at The Mogul. The food is fantastic, the staff are superb and the music is marvellous (of course)

We absolutely love Moghuls. We have been eating here for years on end and have never had an issue until tonight. I appreciate it is New Year’s Eve but to be sat waiting for a takeaway inside the restaurant for 2 hours after being quoted 30 mins, after an hour and 30 mins to be told 10 more minutes and finally we reach the 2 hour mark and still no takeaway! We can see everyone in the restaurant getting their food promptly.. but not those waiting for takeaways. We are still paying customers. Please don’t promise waiting times if you cannot keep to them. Very disappointed. Hopefully the food will be worth the wait.

I’ve been here a few times now but unfortunately on each of my recent visit the service has been very very poor. He has a big restaurant but not enough staff, we had to sit with our finished plates for 30 minutes until we asked...
