Shaman Coffee - St Paul's Riverside in City of London, Westminster

we stayed at the locke hotel last month and every morning sumaiya made the best coffee and was the nicest barrista i’ve ever come across! never forgetting my experience because of her <3

Coffee was not great and they sneakily added service charge at the till .... even though I ordered myself at the counter. Please do not rip off your customers.

I have mixed feelings. The actual location is huge, there’s plenty of different seating arrangements and space for working which is great. Unfortunately, the coffee does not taste good and the service isn’t too great. If you’re looking for somewhere to work, I’d still recommend coming here, but if your main priority is a good cup of coffee, there’s plenty of other options nearby.

/𝑶𝒄𝒕./𝟏𝟎 Stayed here for 8 days Finally, before leaving on the last day Come to this cafe downstairs for breakfast We ordered 𝐇𝐨𝐭 𝐂𝐡𝐨𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐋𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞 𝐂𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐩𝐲 𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐨𝐧 & 𝐎𝐦𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞 The bread is hard and crispy on the outside but soft in the middle The bacon inside is so salty and delicious I really like sourdough bread☺️ The maple latte I ordered was on the sweet side. The taste is quite special I’m so tired that I don’t want to leave🥲

Very overpriced drinks- £55 for four average glasses of wine! Heard them say not serving coffee after 4pm too. Good views but many cheaper options around

😩 The world caught its little toe in a dresser drawer at 11:58 this morning at a cafe in central London when I, with worn, half-open eyes laden with a bad cold and a general state of crisis, ordered a peppermint tea. Following the loveless tea-making process in my peripheral vision, still in hopeful reflex, I extended both hands towards the bar expecting a teacup on a saucer and a tiny teapot. Now, I am aware that expecting a teapot was a very bourgeoisie emotional investment on my part but considering we were in a more ‘concrete and suits’ part of town, it still had basis (and this place has all these fancy chairs). Nothing could have prepared me for what came next. The person shot a puzzled look at my ‘haveth mercy upon me lord’ pose. A dog barked in the distance, A pet bird tooted in despair, A man tripped over his shoelace, and I saw dead plants and lost people. Imagine an atmosphere heavy with wailing banshees and empty oceans. Send hugs and cookies, prayers and love. All hope has jumped off a terrace. My imaginary lover has died. He handed me a water glass filled with hot water and a teabag with a card cup sleeve.

We had planned to meet an old friend at Shaman for coffee/tea, and I must say it was the reunion after a long time, rather than the food or drinks that left an impression. Nothing great, but not bad either. There is clearly something more they could do to pimp up their act.

Update: Service improved during second visit!

Now my fav Coworking space, came here by using AndCo app initially. I think food options can improve, but good enough for now.

카페에 대한 좋은 평을 듣고 왔는데 일하고 있는 여자가 너무 불친절합니다. 굉장히 grumpy 해서 받고 고맙다는 말조차 하고 싶지 않습니다. 커피 한 번, 베이커리 한 번 주문했는데 두 번 다 처음부터 끝까지 불친절했고 발음을 알아듣기 어려웠지만 마지막에 “Enjoy” 라고 한 뒤 “for nothing”이라고 하더군요. 그런 뒤 바로 앞 호텔 프론트데스크에 있는 사람과 낄낄댔어요. 가서 지금 뭐라고 한 거냐고 따졌더니 나중에 사과했지만 정말 안좋은 경험이었습니다. 직원을 똑바로 교육하세요. 호텔 경험까지 망칩니다.

Great coffee and one of the places with the best ambience. Great music too, but the volume can be lower, especially since there's no lack of seats, and that many come here to focus on their own work.

it claims to be a co-working space but there is loud music being played and the staff claims they can " do nothing possible" . Worst place to go to if you have to get some work done plus staff is extremely unfriendly .

Pricy and bad attitude, not worth it.

I’ve been to this place couple of times since last year for coffee/dinner/drinks. Always liked this place. BUT my recent visit was not pleasant at all. Staff at coffee bar was very rude, coffee taste below the average. No service provided, and she told us not to sit in the bar area. The staff at restaurant side also very rude telling that we cannot come to restaurant side if we only ordered coffee. (We were not even planning to sit down, was just leaving) Do not come to this place if you are looking for a relax Sunday afternoon.

Average coffee, no skimmed milk option and had to pay for a service charge even though there was no table service so carried drinks myself - was I expected to make my own drink? ! Rip off - doesn't deserve any custom as they have no customer service.

Nice coffee shop right next to the river. Sadly no discount offered for those who practice shamanism but the coffee was excelkent so no complaints.

Latte was good and frothy. Espresso was good! Would definitely go again. Had a really good plain croissant and blueberry muffin as well.

Coffee extremely terrible, staff not polite, will never come again. Protein shake is over charged and taste horrible.

The iced latte is the worst i have ever tasted, smell weird and way too sweet, after one sip i had to throw it. It is also not cheap too. Staff a bit rude.

Unfortunately our experience here wasn’t the best. We ordered two croissants - one almond and one pain au chocolat… both tasted like plastic. We had a bite or two and couldn’t eat anymore. Honestly, you would be better off buying a croissant from a supermarket. The coffee also wasn’t proper barista coffee - also couldn’t drink it. Coffees were also served in a tiny cup, despite paying for a “large” coffee Charging +£15 for two highly processed croissants and two small, low quality coffees is extortionate. ….You will get a much better deal in top cafes a few minutes walk away!!

Ok coffeeshop but the food was lacking bit

Staff were lovely and helped me fix a wifi problem. Lots of available comfy seating (even on a Saturday) and plug sockets. Love the location too. Will definitely be back!

Love this coffee shop / lounge area at Shamans! Very nice location right next to the river, friendly staff. Has a very comfy, chill vibe - kind of like a low-key co-working space. It can get quite popular with students but there’s always space. Open every day 8-5. The seating area remains open even after 5pm which is great. One of the cafes that have iced coffee menus all throughout the year! Would recommend the breakfast wrap.

Nice place to chill or work and drink some good drinks like a cup of coffee. We enjoyed to start our day here.

Spent a couple of hours here during a week day. Coffee and food was decent, wouldn’t say the best for their price. But the view and environment was wonderful. There are lots of interesting looking and comfortable seats. However, only some seats that are good for working (good table and chair height), so it is possible to not finding a good place to work, even when not busy.

Superb place, almost open like 24/7... You can literally meet loads of bankers working there in the morning quite often. Probably the best spot to work / study / meet-up in London City.

They were lovely and service was professional. Courteous and friendly. Will patron their shop again.
