Shama Takeaway in Leeds

I usually order curry’s from here and it’s always 10/10. thought I’d try pizza and wedges and it was a let down. Crust was like cardboard, wedges tasteless. I’ll stick to my curry next time

It was mostly jalapeño no sauce it just burnt our mouths rather than taste anything

Food was good but missed the extras added to order etc cheese on chips

Sharma is out go to, normally love it but I’ve ordered a fish curry for 8 years and today it had tonnes of bones in which ruined the enjoyment. Not sure if they have a different supplier but that was not the one. Disappointed

I am so gutted I couldn't give 5stars. The food was as usual amazing. The delivery man is polite, respectful and well mannered. But the younger guy on the phone which I believe is the owners son needs to go! Or this business will suffer massively. I had issue with my order and items missing, he made out that I was lying, he was rude, sarcastic and arrogant when I was trying to sort this out. He then realised I wasn't lying and said sorry but remained to have a disgusting attitude. The owner I am aware of from previous deliveries is a well respected gentleman who takes pride in his food and business. But as the saying goes sometimes you can't mix business with pleasure. I am debating to return as a customer due to not wanting to engage with this rude child on the phone again. Please look at your problem 🙏 ❤️

The chicken tikka masala was extremely poor. It like they used no cream or yoghurt. It was just chicken covered in a tomatoey spicy paste rather than a curry. It's like they've never seen a curry before, it was baffling. I gave 2 stars instead of one purely because it would have been good value if the curry wasnt so bad

Naan, uncooked. King prawn dish: no king prawn but 3 shrimp sized prawns. Balti mostly salty. Overall, very poor. Sorry

First time ordering from here and I'm impressed. Food arrived hot and was so tasy! Really enjoyed it.

The chicken chaat was just a plate of chicken and no chapati or real filling. The chicken balti had no sauce whatsoever, but a healthy serving of water at the bottom for good measure. The rice was harder than 6 week old tiger bread, and the chicken was drier than the bottom of Ghandi’s flip flop. Even flies wouldn’t touch this food.

Have ordered here before and usually enjoy the food but tonight the kebab was cold and the chips barely warm. The donner meat was tough and did not seem to be fresh. Sadly did not enjoy on this occasion.

Ordered a chicken buna and chicken rogan Josh. Tasteless overcooked dry chicken; both seemed the same; equally as bad Not nice at all! Popadoms and mango chutney were ok. How they serve this rubbish I have no idea.

Love the food, i always get the curry meal deal and order through their website and if the order is over £15 you get a discount, always friendly staff when i go in.

Late by 1 hour kept changing the time to when it was supposed to be delivered and then it came and was flat cold! Not impressed at all

This is the finest take away curry I've ever had. What more can I say? The chicken was tender. Normally, I can't finish a take away but I did tonight. The chapatis were very thin and delicate. Unlike the usual very thick things we are normally served. The meal arrived well before the estimated delivery time. A great experience. I will definitely use this restaurant again.

We placed a large order for 6 people on New Year’s Eve and expected a bit of a delay but the food was actually delivered early and was hot. The quality and flavour was excellent. Everyone enjoyed everything. Well worth the money..

Normally absolutely love this takeaway, but have a bad experience recently. Put an order in which came out of my account and then they emailed to say the order has been declined. I received a phone call 5 mins later saying the money would be sent back. This was the 9th of November! Still no money returned. I’ve rung them a few times in which they said they’d drop it off thar evening and yet still not received the refund.

I ordered to the wrong address. The driver was awesome and delivered to the correct address for me when I told him I had accidentally ordered to the wrong place. And the food was delicious as always!

Not bad but my word the portions have shrunk whilst the prices have gone up. You get the option to go ‘large’ for an extra £3. I’d guess in reality this would be the portion size they served a few years back. Seriously not worth the money. I could have paid less at a restaurant for an actual decent sized portion. Won’t be using again purely because the value doesn’t exist.

Korma wasn’t great and had a strange taste. The burger had cheese on when didn’t request. The garlic chilli was absolutely amazing and so was the chicken Balti

The chicken pakoras was rock hard cooked from frozen chappatis under cooked and asked for a jalfrezi and had hotter kormas overall not impressed and won’t be rushing back

Terrible curry pretty inedible normally decent

Very tasty food and delivered early.

What an absolute joke of a place. I ordered two of the same curries but one only came the other was different. When I called in and wanted to complain the manager was rude, unpolite and obnoxious. This manager was constantly speaking to me in slang language ‘bro’ ‘Whats wrong bro’ ‘why you lying bro’ ….. I am not your bro! plus he did not care about my order. I then asked him I wanted to speak to the owner he still said no. I offered him photo evidence of my curry to show him it was incorrect and still he said no. I just wanted to fix it quickly as I had two kids with me who was hungry. They did send out a second curry but I turned it down because the manager did state on the phone the second curry will taste better this time around. Now what does that suppose to mean? as you can tell a lot of things were going in my head after that comment….I mean he could be going on about spitting in it for all I know. So I turned it down and complained to just eat. The owner did contact me and apologised. I did send him the photo and he said thank you for the feedback which was good off him, exactly how it should be. I think this place has potential just one or two bad apples work here, which is bad for business.

Currys are spectacular. I'm a chef myself and there producing restaurant quality at takeaway prices. Pizzas are pretty, and they taste great. The boneless box meals are my go 2 when hungover. the only thing left to change is some higher quality fries that match. Maybe a bit of rosemary salt on the fries and less time in the fryer.

Ok where do i start 16/08/23 @ 19.15. They got the order wrong. I said i will send them a picture to prove this. They said no. I ask to speak to the manager he said he was the manager even though he called him up. Then this guy started to swear at me. I did ask him to deliver the food himself and he refused. He was veryy rude and unpolite. Do not use this place. I will now avoid. The big man on the phone is ruining this place and its image.

Delivery was late, fine, but fries were missing off the order which we had already paid for. We enjoy fries with our curry, due to having to call the restaurant by time we had food I was cold and spoiled, guy on phone asked do you want your chips? Well yes I did pay for them. Curry flavours not as nice as usual. Due to the lack of passion and enthusiasm with the takeaway it has let us down this time. Maybe a bad day? We will probs order again later in the future but not anytime soon. Delivery guy polite

Even though 20 minutes doesn't seem long to be late we had already waited 1hr 20mins. Currys were very tasty and worth the wait, will use again but probably pickup.

Absolutly disgusting food. This is not indian food! Clearly used a jar from aldi and pawned it off as there own. The meat was so dry i thought i was eating cardboard. This is not authenic indian food and will never go back. Pathic!!!!

Not as good as usual which was a shame - Fish Masala totally over cooked and Balti not as tasty as normal - wonder if it’s because it was a Tuesday

Always loved pizzas from the Shama! However ordered a curry meal deal last night and the taste of the food was horrendous to the point I actually gipped and brought it back up. Chips was undercooked also. Real shame as used to order from here regularly but was massively put off from last nights experience.

Brilliant food once more. Problem with an offer (just eat issue not the restaurant) and they came straight back with free item within ten minutes. Great service and top notch food.

Food took over two hours to be delivered and I ordered a large curry portion and received a regular size one and then they refused to refund me the difference.

I have been getting curry from here for years, always lovely and fresh. Unfortunately this evening my order arrived and cold, wet chips and the garlic Nan not cooked properly and lacking garlic. I rang Shama and was offered a fresh order so that was positive. I didn’t take the offer of fresh chips etc. just a shame as it’s usually fantastic.

1st time ordering from here as read all the reviews beforehand. Thought it would be banging. Waited 2 hours on a Wednesday for a pizza, curry and a starter. Live in bramley. Never ordering again!

This was not a great meal but I didn’t leave a review at the time. However I’ve recently found out this place had a surprise hygiene inspection by LCC in which they have found serious failings and awarded it a one out of five rating! I know I’ll not be ordering from here again.

Our first time ordering from here & it certainly didn’t disappoint. The curry dishes were fresh & hot. Garlic nan was lovely & my partner enjoyed his dishes too. The mixed started could of been a little better with perhaps a couple of pieces chicken tikka. Will defo be ordering again.
