Love it, love it love it, so sorry to see it go, I would love them to find another building in leeds. If not I shall travel to White rose shopping centre.

Fish and chips are my favorite meal the presentation was great and these are the best I have tasted in a long while

Spring Bank Holiday 2024. Thought I'd try some food from here. I can't remember ever seeing someone taking orders who looked so miserable. From her came no please, no thank-you, no hello, no welcome, not even the faintest glimmer of a smile. I didn't order anything. I walked away from the counter. Such a rude woman. They'll not get any of my money today!

The fish was fresh and delicious. The fries were also good. The environment is a bit poor and a lot of stores have disappeared.

Fish was lovely, bright white and chunky. Very lightly battered but it was crispy. Chips were well cooked. The food hall atmosphere in The Core isn't exactly warm and cosy though. Not sure they can do much about that, but the food was nice.

Average, that's it. Nothing special nothing bad, pure average.

The fish was fried with light batter and crispy. The portion was generous. The fries were a bit soggy. Onion rings were good.

I've been going here many times the fish and chips are the best in Leeds really nice fresh Haddock and lovely chips obviously it's cool sat in the eating zone as there's no heating. Oh wait a minute went today yikes what's happened have they reduced the size of a small fish to a Jumbo Fish Finger ? I should have taken a picture of it an absolute disgraceful waste of money ! I seriously felt cheated out of £6.80 I didn't complain as I ordered a small fish and chips but if that's the new revised size I won't be going again and I doubt anyone else will either .Annoyed don't like not getting value for money its too hard earned .

This use to be excellent This use to be the best Chip shop in Leeds. Best to ask for fresh fish and chips. I had too change my review I gave them a five stars but this review needs updating as the past few times I have had fish and chips or chips the chips have not been great. My lasted attempt chips were very dry and hard I nearly choked on them! Today I was in Town and thought I would treat myself to some chips I wish I did not bother the chips were hard, dry, part of the chips were green and black. The other three times the chips been hard and dry today was unexceptionable. I have been telling people too eat here they the best fish and chips in Leeds but their not any longer. I noticed the other Customers who arrived shortly after me chips were fine maybe because it was fried in Fat or beef dripping so you treat people who like it in vegetable oil different? Charging so much for chips not worth it as it's barely decent.

Friendly and quick service, tasty traditional chips & sausage

I regularly go to this restaurant but will not be going there again. I got my portion of chips only to realise they were cold. I raised the issue with the girl at the till but all she did was apologise and did not offer a fresh portion or chips or full/partial refund. Poor food and no attempt to rectify the issue. Very poor experience.

Surprisingly good fish and chips. Cooked to order, so fresh out the pan. Fish and chips are becoming expensive, so value takes a bit of a hit. The shopping centre location is also a bit dull and depressing.. But the food was good and I will come back when I next get the urge for some fish and chips...

Best F&C on the headrow! Generous portions and well cooked. Mushy peas could do with being a bit less watery. Bright, clean and welcoming.

Sausage and Scaps! 10 / 10. Fast service, Friendly staff, Tasty food. Not a fan of fish and chips but decided to try a Jumbo battered sausage from here for £2.40, you can't go wrong. Super satisfied, went back multiple times the same week! totally recommend to everyone!

In my opinion it's the worst sausage & chips i have ever had the sausage was undercooked and left horrible taste the chips where lukewarm and off poor taste i had meal and felt ill all day i would never use this fish shop again

We had fish and chips here yesterday The fish was swimming in fat or oil and along with the chips tasted nasty. We couldn't eat which is a pity as previously they had been very nice. I'm not sure if they still use dripping but if so this needs renewing. If they have gone onto oil then they need to revert back to dripping. Wasted money and went hungry

Had chips and chip shop style curry sauce . Had nothing else to eat that but was throwing up for rest of day . I still say this is best chippy for miles and all the food served is amazing

A bit noisy as you share eating space with other food outlets but the fish and chips were freshly cooked-an excellent portion when ordering 'a small' too!!

There are no doubt better chippies in Leeds, but if you're hanging for a scollop while the family are doing the shopping, then it's ok.

Friendly prompt efficient attentive customer service, delicious full English breakfast, good value for money. I highly recommend this cafe and I'll come back here next time I'm in Leeds.

Friendly staff, nice seating area and the menu is spot on. Batter is perfect and chips are lovely. Everything seems cooked to order and is all fresh and good quality. Have been eating here a few years and will continue to do so.

Prices are very reasonable, staff are friendly and helpful, and the central location is very convenient and easy to get to. The perfect place to stop for fish and chips while you take a break from shopping 😊

Very average. Fish i got was fat and without a particular taste, whike chips were dry. The Staff is nice and helpful though.

£5.90 for a small fish and chips where the chips tasted like they had been recooked and the fish was mainly batter. No recycling of all the plastic plates and forks that are generated. Good seating available though.

Quality fish and chips with curry sauce

I was in Leeds for a concert on Thursday night and on Friday morning I needed a good breakfast. Walking through the shopping centre, I saw this place and liked the look of the breakfast menu. I ordered a bacon, sausage and egg sandwich, with a coffee, which was just over £5. The lady behind the counter asked me to sit down as she would call me when my breakfast was ready. (cooked fresh for you) It tasted great, not greasy, and it was just the thing to help get over a heavy night.

Ordered through deliveroo, polite and friendly delivery man, good size fish, chips was on the small side, but apart from this I’ve no complaints, meal was lovely and fresh.

The food it’s absolutely rubbish. Chips have a funny taste of mold, scampi’s are not cooked right and again that same funny taste like chips. Calamari’s? They are soaked in oil. Really bad quality, I’m not recommending to anyone this place and I will never come back.

Graveleys offer up a decent fish & chips at a reasonable price, staff are friendly and easy going. Easy to get tempted here as the food has never disappointed - it will never be 'five star' of course. When I'm in Leeds I do get tempted more than I would care to admit!

Nope wouldent go there again asked for light bits which is just a small fish chips and peas new owners now so what you get for light bits is a tiny fish that's it for same price

I ordered takeaway fish and chips. The staff are friendly and the fish is good.

Due to surgery many years ago, I am only able to eat small amounts, so ordered small fish and chips, but asked the staff for only half a small portion of chips - which they did, essentially I was charged £1.80 for 90p value of chips which I was ok with, however when it arrived I realised I'd forgotten to ask for ketchup, but was told I'd be charged 30p (these should be included in the cost of your meal) they are given at no extra charge in MacDonald, etc as well as 30p for a tiny sachet being well overpriced - they'd already made an extra 90p on the chips I had just paid £8.75 for my meal and coffee, the fact they tried to charge 30p for something that had a value of a couple of pennies, when they'd already taken £8.75 from me made me feel not like a valued customer but as a cash cow, so you saved a couple of pennies on the cost of a sachet of sauce but you lost my future custom - bit of a false economy don't you think?

Inside The Core shopping centre. No parking. Wheelchair accessible via lifts and ramp from The Headroom. Toilets Inc disabled 20 yards away. Not at all expensive with fast service and good fish and chips. Ideal for a meal while on shopping trip.

Been there plenty of times, mainly due to the quality of fish. Staff are always very helpful and polite. To my opinion it has the best fish cake, with massive quantity of fish in it. Totally recommended if you want really good fish and chips in the city center.

Staff very friendly. But this is second time I've been reasonly and both times very disappointed fish all batter no fish in it 😢. This time baught fishcake only about four flakes of fish Chinese curry sauce was like water only upside chip's ok

We're from the North East and were in Leeds for the weekend.I visited with a friend a couple of years ago and enjoyed my meal, so recommended it to my partner and we visited for lunch on Friday. We both chose Fishcake and chips and all I can suggest is that if you visit give the fishcake a miss. It was like a ball of nothingness. Tasteless potatoe, very dry, no taste of fish other than a fish bone and tasteless batter. It's the worst fishcake I've ever tasted. My partner had 2 bites and couldn't eat anymore. I had a few mouthfuls as I was hungry but had to give up. The chips were ok, but due to covid you can't put your own salt and vinegar on. We had to take both meals back for more salt and vinegar as we couldn't taste any on the food. Other reviews are good so I'm sure this was just a blip, because I did enjoy the food on my previous visit.

Disgusting. Fish was like a skin graft in batter and frozen chips just thrown in the frier. Never ever return.
