This was a wonderful shop & cafe with warm and friendly staff and the door had a gorgeous rainbow colured glass above their door. & lots of pretty and quaint trinkets to look at and buy as well as snacks.

On our stroll around Bourton-on-the-Water we noticed an outdoor table was free and ordered coffee and toasted tea cakes. Friendly service was swift, and we were pleased the milk came in a small jug for us to add the required amount we each preferred. We hadn't noticed this tea shop was connected to the Shalom Rainbow shop opposite and were pleasantly surprised the order was not priced when they asked for a donation. A pleasant place to rest and reflect of the beauty of this village

Shalom is a wonderful café just off the main drag in Bourton. You can go in and sit and read a book or allow yourself to be drawn into conversations in the café. No-one is a stranger here, just friends that have not yet met. The concept of paying what you think the food is worth is a great leveler and means no-one need feel excluded from this little bit of heaven.

Oh this is so lovely. I've never been to a cafe where you decide what to donate for what you have had. It has a cosy family atmosphere and I could tell from all the locals in there that this is a real community hub that reaches out to people. Not fast food but tasty and well prepared and I felt so at ease. And Blessed by being there and seeing such a compassionate team at work

Spending five days in BOURTON. ON. THE. WATER. I had been recommended by a friend to call in the THE RAINBOW BOOKSHOP AND CAFE. On my arrival I immediately found the shop. I went in.and was welcomed with open arms I then ordered from the menus which had a good choice It arrived soon after and was most enjoyable There was no cost. Just a suggestion I put a small donation in the box on the way out This I did and then made my way through to the book shop and bought a few things

It is like an island of peace and friendship. Don't miss it. An amazing Christian Book Shop, and a lovely little coffee + snakes restaurant.

What a sweet place to stop and have some wonderful conversation with locals, and a fine cup of coffee and Victoria Sponge cake while at it. They don't charge you for the delicious treats! but! you do give a donation, because it is a Christian based Cafe and Book Store. My sister and I each donated 20.00 pounds to their cafe, because it does bless others who have less. Make sure to meet an elderly but spunky man named Charlie, so kind and gifted!

This place is simply fabulous. We stumbled on it on the last day of our weekend in Bourton-on-the-Water. We were looking for breakfast having left our rental property and they were doing breakfast. The food was lovely and the service exceptional with the lovely lady engaging us in conversation. We were surprised at the end when she said we would pay what we felt it was worth.....it was so lovely it was worth far more that you would normally want to pay. The lady said they had been there 18 years so the concept must work ... truly fabulous

He went to Bourton on the Water on Aug bank holiday Monday. The weather was cloudy and fairly warm but we wanted somewhere to sit inside and eat. (There are a lot of places to buy takeaway food - mainly fish and chips and baguettes in B-o-t-W that take advantage of the tourist trade with their pricing!) We found this cafe up a side street and it was very homely and welcoming inside. We soon realised that there were no prices on the menu and were told that you pay a donation at the end. The drinks arrived promptly and there was a small wait for the food. It was all piping hot when it arrived and there were no complaints. The panini and sandwiches were particularly good. There is a wooden box for you to pay your donation as you leave. This is a concept I've not come across before but they have been doing it for over 10 years apparently so it must work! All the staff were friendly and polite and I would definitely go back next time I visit B-o-t-W. Note: As mentioned by another reviewer, at 12 o'clock everything stops for the Lords prayer.

This is very unusual as you order, sit and eat but payment is what you feel the food is worth. Went on a coach trip and there were 3 other coachs in the same place. Went into a few places but were full and one was only doing takeaway. I have mobility problems so looked around. We found this place down a side street. We were called by God to here as it was very nice food and we all left happy. I also bought a few christian items in the shop.

Shalom is an unusual place. You order drinks, cakes etc and sit and eat, as you expect from a cafe, but then you pay what you feel it was worth. Apparently it works too, with very few taking advantage. Refreshingly different. Nice book shop next door too

Thank you so much for making us feel so welcome during our visit today. I enjoyed a wonderful panini and salad, my son loved his homemade tomato and red pepper soup and toast and friend her BLT. The homemade cakes and ice cream finished our meals off nicely. We would definitely return if we hopefully return to Bourton. Such a wonderful idea and we were so relaxed and loved the feel of the shop and cafe.

We love this place. it was our second visit. There is no set price for any of the food or drinks sold here - you leave a donation as you go out! Provided are tea, coffee, Soft drinks etc and cake, scones, baked potatoes, paninis, soup and similar snacks. Delightfully informal and friendly. Everything stopped at Midday and we were simply led in saying the Lord's Prayer - than back to helping one of the regulars with his crossword.

Enjoyed a delicious lunch. Warm and welcoming atmosphere, highly recommend for a light lunch in Moreton-In-Marsh, will certainly return in future!

The bread and cakes from here are epic - really good Croissant and the Sourdough is top class - can perch indoors if you are lucky or sit outside on some rather flimsy folding chairs, either way teh coffee is very good and even better with a bun! Quality of product is the main attraction, its not a large enterprise like some of the other places nearby. Worth finding.

The cafe is very basic which is fine, however, the prices are too high. Two coffees over nine pounds. We did have oat milk instead of cows and one was decaf but even so that’s the most we have been charged for two medium sized coffees anywhere in the UK. There was even a 10% service charge added to the bill which again was a first for us in a cafe. Staff were very nice but we won’t return. There is a limit to how much we want to pay for coffee. It’s not £9+.

We nipped in for a quick drink, the orange wine was delicious and the place has a nice atmosphere. We had some little snacks whilst visiting.

The guy who works here is rude and condescending. Dare you not be a perfect coffee expert and ask for advice on which drink to choose.
