One of the originals. This place has been there for 30 years. Bangladeshi's run curry restaurants nationally. Here is where they all originate from - Whitechapel. Particularly the Sylhet region. So there are naturally loads of great places to get a curry lunch. This one is at the cheap end. They cook nan and chapati fresh in front of you. The meat dishes are average, as are the vegetables and rice. I get the impression they are made at home and brought in periodically. Generally it's all good fresh stuff and very well priced.

Walking long New Road you might miss this simple white window of this take away/restaurant but entering you will be welcomed by the smiling owner and the guys there, you will be engaged by the cheap prices and if you taste the channa, curry, dhal, naan, paratha... You will come back on and on and on... ... And what's amazing feeling when the team will greeting you remembering your favourite meal... They are the best

This is no restaurant but more like a cafe. The food is always excellent especially because it is a family run business and has been there for years. I remember coming here when I was 6/7 years old and 20 years later, I still come all the way from Portsmouth for a kebab roll. This place has the best mint sauce by far and I wish he'd give me the recipe! Highly recommended. A meal sets you back £5-6 and that's including a soft drink.

Chaotic service and given a table and chairs more suited to being outside, which it probably was in the summer, despite having booked a table. Overcooked starters although the main, byriani, was very good. Just uncomfortable with the chaotic service, sparkling wine about to be opened with no glasses on the table, for example.

I don’t recommend the chicken biryani The lamb meal was a lot better As seen in the photo, one is almost done and one isn’t. You can probably figure out why. The 4stars because the chicken biryani was rubbish. £30 for two bowls and a mango lassi and water
