Shakeaway in Brighton and Hove

The milkshake wasn’t blended enough so it was literally just like drinking vanilla milkshake with huge chunks of chocolate bar at the bottom. Very disappointing.

Very expensive to buy mediocre food that takes ages to arrive. The staff were nice enough, I just found the whole experience a bit underwhelming.

Second time visiting Shakeaway today with my little one. Today’s milkshake recipe was Cadbury cream egg and Galaxy bar. Previous visit he tried the Maltesers and Kit Kat milkshake. Both were excellent. Good milkshakes and friendly staff. We will be back soon.

So sad, used to be Greta and tasty but when I saw that they now put half of a bueno, it was obvious they my drink tasted like milk with a tiny tiny bit of bueno. So disappointed, you’ve lost a client here which I guess you don’t care but I miss when it was generous. It’s ok to increase the price to £4.99 but losing the taste? Never again. Staff however is always very nice and lovely.

THE best milkshake place in the world. Hands down. My go-to is Oreo and daim bar

whoever made my drink curved the rim of the cup in and created a perfectly straight edge where the rim meets the lid. My drink was like automatically going in my mouth. Then, the waiters gave me 20 dollars, I looked like a businessman with a laptop and trading stocks. Hope my review helped!!!

Ordered the Dave, which was absolutely divine. Haven’t been to shakeaway in 10 years so it was nice that it still lived up to the hype in my mind.

Highly recommend visiting ShakeAway if you love a shake. So many options and the manager Ryan was super helpful in recommending what to try. He certainly is a fun chap and we will be back to try more when next in Brighton!

Lovely and kind girls, the cashier and the shaker: by accident I took someone’s else milkshake and they were really helpful, asking the person who I stole the milkshake from if they wanted a new one (for safety and hygiene reasons). I do recommend the “Ahmad” one and “After Eight” one that I drank by accident. Dairy free options are available (dairy free ice cream and soya milk), the taste doesn’t get heavily affected.

As always a super yummy shake from the talented shakettes, even when rushed off their feet its always service with a smile.

Shoutout to the Owner for opening up a little early. It provided a good finish to my stay in Brighton. I’ll definitely be back next time.

Very rare to find this store without a queue but still took over 30 mins to make 3 milk shakes. Considering it was a bank holiday weekend, one would assume you'd have competent staff that are able to make more then 1 shake every 5 minutes.

Dreadful. 15 minutes to buy two kids milkshakes. We walked and it was empty. Lots of people came in afterwards. They were all served. No milkshakes after 15 minutes. Dreadful. Completely incompetent. What makes this worse, as one person is making the milkshakes while the other one seems to be playing the accordion on the till. How can one person be making milkshakes for the entire shop whilst the other person stands idly…..in August!

Came here on a Saturday. There was one person making the Shakes and there was a queue of 10 people! When I placed the order there was no mention on how long it was going to take! It took 20min for my shake to come through! This is on a Saturday! How is this okay?!!!

Price is obviously competitive, it takes time but this is acceptable due to wanting something made to order, ignore any trolls looking for a freebie and go and try it yourself, amazing.

Great shakes slow and confused staff. Forgot my shake and tried to give my son one that had been given to a previous customer. I said no and she said I will give you another straw. No thanks.

The lady on the till was very helpful considering I am gluten and dairy free. However this is not the best milkshake I've had, it was lukewarm and the marzipan was still in a big clumps at the bottom. It was a bit overpriced too.

Frozen Yogurt? More like soup! We waited 15 minutes for a Frozen Yogurt when there was 5 people behind the counter! The "frozen" yogurt came out practically as soup, we got advised that it was due to it being a hot day. It was 20 degrees! I would hate to see what it would be like in a heatwave! There is no AC unit in the shop. Slow service, terrible product.

Great fun choosing your own shake! I've tried a variety of different flavours including their hot chocolate! Would recommend everyone tries it out - you won't be disappointed! Nothing better than having a shake in hand looking around the amazing and interesting things going on in Brighton! The staff are very friendly and recommend great flavours! I will definitely be going back again! :)

Upon extensive research, I was excited to taste what is cited as a delicacy in the realm of milkshakes. Unfortunately, as the first sip of my white hazelnut, kinder bueno, brownie, with mixed nuts and no whipped cream shake touched my seasoned tastebuds, I was supremely disappointed. The viscosity of 'the shake' was far too runny. I was anticipating a dramatic sugar rush, but instead I did not. The nuggets of brown brownies were gigantic and not homogenous as they should have been. That is all. I won't be returning. It's a well-priced scam! lol

I effing love this place. Their highly-trained milkshake engineers are on hand to prepare whatever outrageous concoction you desire. This taste-ship runs on imagination, ice cream, and poor dietary decisions! It's ongoing mission, to seek out new flavours, and new combinations...to boldly blend what no-one has blended before!

I was waiting a while for my strawberry cheesecake white chocolate and magic stars on top to come then my brothers ones camr out fine but then I saw the girl put flake on top of one and say THERESA I thought oh it cant be mine then it was sitting there and I saw the writing on the cup so I took it. At this point I didn't realise it was the one she had put flake in instead of magic stars. If was busy but it wasn't clear to me that it was meant to be mine. Disappointing.

As an ex shakeaway employee, watching the shakette prepare my milkshake incorrectly was interesting however I did get more chocolate orange than I deserved so I'm not complaining, didnt have any papaya either 😕

Muy bien servido, bastante consistente por un gran precio. Debo decir que hay 1 o 2 camareras que son simpáticas, además de eso, pueden estar tan frías como mi batido. He probado pocos y puedo decir que es de buena calidad, no puedo entender los malos consejos que decían "yogur asqueroso". Lo malo sería que no son bienvenidos, y me encantaría que estuvieran más alegres ya que venden comida feliz, ¡vibraciones de verano, ya sabes! Permítame pedirle que pruebe el de Malteser y el de Skittle. Estos son increíbles, además, hay una tarjeta de fidelidad, y por el precio del chip, ¡es un muy buen lugar para ir en verano!

Slow service, staff member forgot about my dairy allergy and I nearly drank a dairy shake. Had they focused and not been constantly chatting them perhaps she would of remembered or written it on the cup.

Las nuevas combinaciones de sabores interminables significan que nunca más tendrás que tomar la misma bebida nunca más [si quieres]. Pero, por otro lado, siempre puede tener su antiguo favorito en cualquier visita.

Literally no choice. Doesn’t taste of yogurt. Bad flavours. Got given chunks of frozen fruit. Servers seemed annoyed we ordered it even though it is clearly on the menu.

Whilst Shakeaway does give good milkshakes, and I was glad at the option of having a vegan shake, I must admit that I have had better. However, the main issue did seem to be customer service. I waited for a while whilst the lady serving continued to have a conversation with another worker about things completely unrelated to work. Not a problem in itself, but it would have been nice to be acknowledged when I walked into the shop. When she was finally ready to serve, there was no 'hello, what can I get you?', she just turned and looked at me as if she was annoyed by my presence. Another issue is the amount of disposable plastic here. Plastic lids and straws are given out without being asked for and in this day and age, given the current climate emergency, I would expect more of an effort to be made, particularly in the centre of Brighton. Paper straws are easily obtainable should someone ask.

Fun way to consume 1000 calories - huge choice

I am disappointed with the service there. I waited for a whole 50 minutes in the line then I waited for another 20 minutes to be served (they were cleaning up apparently). Overall the milkshakes were tasty but was not #worth it

I work nearby and love your shakes but when you close at 6 yet refused to serve me at 17.20 when there was no queue and the door was open saying open. Disgraceful

Milkshakes from this place are my weakness. Had a delicious Snickers shake. Frothy, reasonable price, tasty. Worth the wait while it's made.

As usual with shakeaway the menu is great but the delay is terrible. It took half an hour from arriving at the shop to receiving our milkshakes. Simply no efficient system in place to deal with demand.

Wow. Myself and my partner have just been left speechless by the attitude of the two young servers in ShakeAway Brighton. One young lady with dark curly hair and another with cropped hair and a top knot on top gave the most appalling customer service I have experienced. As with other reviews below we waited around 10 minutes with no queue, no acknowledgment whilst we heard their very loud conversation including many expletives and how they refused to stay open much longer because there was only two of them. They then proceeded to both clean the same equipment, which I didn’t realise was a two person job, again without even acknoledging us or any other customers that entered in this time. After some colourful swearing about how the freezers weren’t working properly and how they wouldn’t even lick the ice cream here eventually we were served by one of the young ladies with curt attitude and abruptness and then when we were given our shakes they were slammed in front of us. A word of advice to the young ladies; if you don’t like your job in customer service don’t do it. We all have bad days but it’s our job to hide them when providing a service to customers. Apparently you both had a bad day at once and judging by other reviews this happens frequently. The company would do well to hire people with a passion for customer service, or at least a supervisory figure to ensure this on site. It’s a shame as we loved shakeaway but this experience has really pushed us away and other people it seems. Shameful.

Decent milkshakes for the diet concieous, be prepared to wait 20 minutes on occasions for your order though.

Fancied a milkshake, Walked into a completely empty shop. There were two young girls behind the counter who didn’t bother giving me any kind of welcoming. Avoided making eye contact for several minuets as I waited patiently to be served. One of the girls disappeared while the other informed me that they had closed the til and would be unable to serve me as if it was hilarious (probably out of embarrassment). I’m sure they’re both lovely people outside the work environment but need a lesson in costumer service and how to operate a til. Won’t be coming back

I do like shake away, however they definitely need to train their staff better. On this day there was only 2 people infront of me and my order took around 25 min. Very slow and only 1 person. Making the shakes at her pace. It has put me off visiting there if I walk past and there is no queue I would pop in as long as I had time spare. It really isn't a "fast food takeaway" but the milkshake are tasty

YES! shakeaway! There usdd to be one of these in Greenwich which myself and my best friend went to back when we were teenagers and when we saw this we went crazy and HAD to go in I got myself the milkshake with double daim bars that was topped with toffee popcorn but I opted to have it extra thick with a packet of reeces cups thrown in and it was AMAZING everything that it used to be and more the staff were really friendly and if you don't fancy a super unhealthy shake they also do healthy ones with fruit and stuff in 😂

Diesen Laden kann ich nur absolut empfehlen, es gibt sehr viel Auswahl an köstlichen Zutaten und verschiedenen Variationen von Shakes, also wenn man mal in Brighton ist ist ein Besuch bei ShakeAway ein absoluter muss.

Lass running the store was really friendly and getting everything done as quick as possible, but could have done with at least two other people in there helping her out.

Very good shakes and friendly service. If you have never been to ShakeAway before, then think of them as the "Willy Wonka" of milkshakes. Any chocolate bar or candy you can think of can turn into a milkshake. My favourite is Terry's Chocolate Orange and Jaffa Cake with the FroYo option.

It's by far the best place to get a milkshake! There are millions of choices and that's not even a joke. It's got endless combos so you can try something new each time! I recommend "David" if you like chocolate or even if you don't. I like the brownies with marshmellow combo and milky bar with mashmellow.

Having been a customer of Shakeaway for more than 4 years, this Shakeaway store has sadly gone down in my expectations. This is the second time we have come to the store and waited longer than 10 minutes to be served. Can I also add there was no queue. Four members of staff all making drinks and not one person acknowledged us enter the store or said - we’ll be right with you. Each member of staff looks like they are in hell and would rather be anywhere else than working for Shakeaway Brighton. On this occasion the shop had a terrible smell like gone off milk. Pungent and not pleasant. Drinks always taste good- the only positive.

Visited at the request of my grandchildren. Waited at the front of the queue while two young women cleaned the bits of equipment but took no notice of us. After five minutes I reluctantly decided enough was enough as I wasn't prepared to accept such awful service. We took the children to Jo Jo's instead, where we had good service and great milkshakes.

A tonne of fun and flavourful milkshakes, but a bit slow and in as cramped a space as any other ShakeAway.

Milkshakes ahoy! Loads of combinations to choose from and a super helpful allergy menu. The vegan section doesn't contain accidentally vegan products that maybe subject to contamination due to production methods, so super helpful for folk who are actually allergic. So for example, you won't find Oreos on the vegan menu, but can still get an oreo shake. There can be a wait while it's busy, but do remember everything is made to order. Staff are super friendly, and always good with my small. On one occasion, there was a small issue with a shake, and this was sorted out pronto, and with good grace. I just wish they had vegan milks and ice cream with out soy, but it's such a small preference, it's not stopping me going again and again.
