Shakeaholic in Newcastle upon Tyne

The exterior and menu was the reason what attracted us. The menu had a great selection, anything you wanted in a milkshake they probably had it. The place itself is quirky and I liked that you could take a menu for future viewing. The staff however were the downfall, they were blunt and just had no conversation making the experience all just seem awkward. It seemed like making a drink was a chore for them even though that’s their job.

So me and my partner decided to have a little day trip to Newcastle today as we are planning on moving to the area in the upcoming month, so wanted to see what’s around. We saw this shake shop at the entrance to INTU and was incredibly fascinated by the shakes and decor. It’s very dark and diner atmosphere but it was definitely well kitted out. They offer hundreds of different flavours and generally the shake we had was out of this world. The only negative thing to say as that the service just was not there! The server seemed to just rush and was completely awkward with the whole purchase. It was awkward waiting for the drink and she just seemed very silent which naturally made us fee a tad awkward. Apart from that it’s definitely worth a try :)

All I need to say is that shakeaholic need to remove those 4 young, girl adults who were serving me as they were so unbelievably rude!

The milkshake that I had was ok but the shop was very dirty and not welcoming at all. The staff were very disorganised and it felt like everyone was being rushed, even though customers were waiting longer than 10 minutes for a milkshake.

Situated near Eldon Square this place is amazing! We had Oreo Overload it was “sick” Great staff we will be back soon

Just milkshake really with whatever sweets you fancy in it. We got 2 toffee crisp ones they were nice, could probably make the same thing yourself at home just need a blender :)

Paid around £5 for a large milkshake which is supposed to include 3 scoops of ice cream. The 3 scoops obviously stayed in blender as all i got a cup of milk. The chocolate which i chose to be blended with the ice cream, also must've been stuck in the blender. I was with my girlfriend at the time hers was a thick consistancy and mine was the opposite. So the employee must've noticed mine wasn't to the same standard. Safe to say we won't be going back.

I went to the Shakeaholic at the Intu Metro Centre (my favourite one) and i was greeted by the most friendly chap! I believe he was called Adam. He was very polite and kind. The Service was speedy and the taste of my milkshake was unbelievable! I would 10/10 recomend to anyone!

I don’t mind waiting but 14 minutes is an utter joke! The place stinks! The staff are all miserable! To make matters worse there were only 6 people waiting for their order to arrive so the milkshakes should be made in no time. In total there was three staff members, all looked like they hated their jobs. First one took the money and washed up the occasional milkshake mixer, the second just stood there whilst the third was doing absolutely everything else! Just a joke how the young lass was running around whilst the others didn’t care! £3.15 is quite reasonable for an milkshake but not when you have to wait for ages! Will not be returning!

Shakeaholic, is rather expensive depending on which flavour, size and toppings etc. The milkshakes are lovely and there is a lot of choice of flavours. Sometimes there are offers on, but it isn’t very often.

The milkshake was absolutely fantastic! Made even better by the big lumps of chocolate in the bottom! Worth every penny and much better than ice cream! We visited the small box outlet which was unfortunately let down by the fact that the sides hadn’t been wiped down and the floor looked filthy (not sure whether hadn’t been mopped for weeks or needed replacing) On a side note, they had run out of whipped cream, which seems very odd for a business that uses it every day! Also odd they couldn’t just call some in from the bigger outlet.

Well what can I say there milkshakes are top notch taste you can literally choose from anything you want but for me there was to much choice for mine so I asked what was the young girls on till favourite she said her choice was a bit boring very friendly so directed me towards another member of the team think she might have been the supervisor or manager she suggested to me the chocolate pop tart with cadburys caramel mixed in which sounded weird but she said to trust her so idid and I'm so happy I did the best milkshake I have ever tasted a made to perefection by a small boy who realised my little boy and went out the way to give him a kinder egg toy overall great milkshakes the staff are super friendly all wihsed me a good day and a very clean shop .Thank you Shakeaholic

So many flavours to pick from. Really yummy! Between the four of us we had refreshers - which wasn't the best as they used the chewy sweets and they all stuck to the bottom, the kinder bueno - was great, the love heart one which tasted exactly as love hearts and the reeses pieces - very tasty!

there are hundreds of flavours to pick from! I had a hersheys cookies and cream milkshake which i would recommend! good size and price.

best milkshake i have ever had so many flavours to choose from and you can mix them up too really friendly and patient staff helped us to decide i visited the store in the metro center and i cant wait to return ,i wish they did hot chocolate too as would love to try the different chocolate bars in one of those .

Me and my boyfriend come here all the time whenever we are in Newcastle and we love it very delicious, especially kinder Bueno mixed with reeses pieces. always friendly customer service and the lovely girl with the blonde hair seems to know our order off by heart as we go in a lot would recommend! always a regular

I love Shakeaholic - my only gripe is that there aren't any of these in Milton Keynes where I now live! Tonnes of flavours from classic chocolate such as Galaxy and Dairy Milk to the weird and wonderful including Peanut Butter, cereal such as Lucky Charms and Marmite!

I recently visited this milkshake bar at Newcastle on the 27th of February actually by mistake as me and my son wanted to go into Elden square. We didn't know the entrance had previously shut. We went into the shop for directions to get into the mall. My son nagged and nagged for a milkshake so finally I gave in and went to the counter to buy one. I had no clue what to do nor how to order the young blonde girl at the counter no older than 17/18 explained the process and the most popular flavours she was the politest young girl. She noticed I had a young boy (my son) and suggests the kinda egg as you get a miniature toy, as soon as Matthew heard toy he was hooked she then went on to ask if we wanted toppings such as whip cream and obviously it was a must. Once the milkshake was in the process of being made the guy asked if we wanted a little or a lot of cream which we choose a lot. When it was made I had a little try of Matthews and it was beautiful, that beautiful I went straight back in the que to order my self one. I couldn't believe for the amount of people in the shop the young girl and guy took the time to suggest options explain the process and make sure we were happy with our first ever shake a Holic. Thanks to the young girl I now have a loyalty card with 2 stamps on and 100% intend on visiting shake a Holic again when I'm back in Newcastle. I will be sure to tell my friends in Leeds about shake a Holic and they must give it a try if their ever in Newcastle! I wish I had got the young girl and guys name so they could be praised for their customer service. I suggest name badges.

Fantastic idea on making milkshakes with a huge variety of chocolates and syrups! Will definitely visit again to recharge my sugar level :D

We and my partner want to try one to share and walked out the shop we both tried some and walked back in to get another one! So much variety and flavours! Defiantly worth trying!

Love the shop and the design of it is very cool, modern and inviting. Thought the service was a little slow and staff lacked personality. Shakes were nice but lacked flavour and really all you could taste was milk..
