Shahi Tandoori in Southwark

I found Shahi Tandoori in Grange Road completely by accident during lockdown and have been ordering takeaway ever since (and as often as once a week!) because the quality of the dishes are top notch - especially the Persian menu, the saag aloo and the papadums (that can often be so disappointingly stale and taste of cheap oil but are done here to a crispy crunchy perfection). When you phone them they are always happy to give you advice, talk you through the menu and help you experiment beyond your tried and tested favourites and the delivery guys are so friendly you feel you have become one of the family. I couldn't be more pleased to have found them and wish them all the very best in surviving this pandemic! Sofie

Found this little gem on the corner of grange road Picked up some food for friends and myself The food was of a high standard had a number of dishes but the chicken jalfrezi was quality Wud recommend u to try if in the area

Delivery was within 15 minutes! Portion sizes are good. Rice was dried out. Lamb pasanda was mainly an overly sweet gravy, with a just few chunks of tasteless lamb. Sag chicken was ok. Aloo dishes very good. I think they're trying to appeal to a British market by leaving out most of the spices and seasoning that make Indian food so delicious. It was all rather bland. They don't necessarily need to reach for the chilis, but they certainly need to spice up the food.

I am a repeat customer. The food is so tasty. I highly recommend trying the Chicken Tray Set Meal for 1 i have had this many times now and have never been dissapointed with the quality and taste.

I must say this is by far the best Indian takeaway in south east one without a doubt. It has been run by the same family for the last thirty years and still going strong. Sometimes the wait is long but it’s worth it. Their food is always juicy bursting with flavours & the service is excellent. Never been let down. Highly recommend it, a gem of an establishment.

The food was delevered very very late. I called the restaurant several times and all they kept telling me was the driver is near by and will be with u in about 5min. It took more than 1 hour. Naah i wouldnt recommend plus their food wasnt great at all had to throw some away.

We order from this restaurant regularly but tonight our food was awful. It was full of water - our plates were swimming in water and food was flavourless so disappointing will be making a complaint.

Absolutely brilliant food. Tasted amazing and very generous portions. Great value too!! Mixed starter was full of flavour. I ordered around 7:30pm on a Saturday so a wait was expected and it came about an hour later which wasn’t too bad. 100% would order again, loved it!!

I was shocked by the customer service we received. They had very bad quality food, tough meat semi cooked looking curry. We called back and they said they know us so they will look after us next time and not to worry about it. I called back a few days later and the guy said that its not sending me what they messed up because its only one meal and its not worth sending a driver to me. I asked for a refund for the food and they refused give me a refund on the food or giving me my food the attitude was appalling. Having nearly £1000 in a year in a place and being treated like that, was shocking. Not gonna order from there again they stole my money!

Probably the worst curry I've ever had. Watery, flavourless & bland - this was the first time I've ever needed to add spices to a takeaway. Also, delivery driver must have rang the doorbell at least 8 times without actually offering time to reach the door.

This was my first order from Shahi Tandoori , the Korma was overloaded with sugar , swimming in a sickly sauce , got plain rice ordered Pilau . Not too impressed

Fantastic service - even after providing an incorrect address the driver delivered with no complaints (and the food was still warm!).

£10.45 for a prawn makhani with 3 prawns .. all sauce an no filling , chicken korma was like water an onion bhajis drier then the Sahara not happy at all !

excellent food but the rudest customer service. I was accused by the delivery man of providing the wrong address details and contact number and the delivery was very stand off-ish. Having subsequently reordered I was once again contact by the same delivery man in the same incredibly rude manner.

Absolutely lovely food. The samosas were actually tasty (as opposed to the paltry dried old dirt beef pastries that usually pass for them). Veg Balti was delicious.

To be fair Indian is my last choice take away but it won't be now . That meal was lush . I do feel the onions chutney should be free but that is my only negative point . I WILL be ordering again - 10 out of 10 👌🏻

Great food, very reasonable price. Only minor complaint is that my order was slightly wrong, but still fantastic and would order from again.

There was an option to receive a free dish, which was missed out despite of having written it into the comments box. All in all though - nice food and it was delivered by smiley driver.
