Tried their beef Biang Biang noodle today, absolutely brilliant, perfectly spiced, delicious. I love this place.

Incredible flavours!! I fancied noodles, and wow I got some great noodles. We ordered: - Shredded chicken - Beef short rib biang biang noodles - Pork biang biang noodles (with egg and 1 tomato, nice addition to the dish) - Pork dumplings with chilli oil (comes with veg too - so nice rather than just plain dumplings you’re used to) I would recommended trying all of the above, very very tasty and extremely good value (especially as I came from London)

Highly recommend Shaanxi restaurant. Arrived to a friendly welcome. The waiter took time to clarify the menu. All the dishes we ordered were delicious and I particularly enjoyed the hand pulled biang biang noodles. Look forward to returning soon.

The noodles are all hand-pulled and very delicious! I have been here many times. The staff are very friendly and the dining atmosphere is very comfortable. It is a treasure restaurant worth visiting! ! !

The food is amazing so filling and tasty! The waiters are so nice and smiley it’s contagious and makes you feel at home! its definitely a restaurant you won’t forget.

There’s a variety of vegetarian dishes available, and you can also customize the spice level and noodle choice. Watching the chef make their signature hand-pulled Biang Biang noodles is very impressive and definitely worth a try. On top of that, the dining area and restrooms are spotless and well-maintained, and the staff is super friendly and attentive. Overall, always a wonderful dining experience!

The food was really bad. The chicken was chewy. Avoid the noodle soup, the egg was overdone, the noodles were stuck together and it tasted like chip fat. There is also vinegar on table which you think is soy so be careful not to put that on your food. Not keen on the black mushrooms either.

First time here and will be back for sure. Stopped in for lunch and it was so hard to choose what to get! Got the pulled noodles with beef and chicken dumplings. Both were so good, the dumplings fried to perfection and the noodles were so flavorful! I did wish a bit more beef came with the noodles but was not disappointed with the flavors at all! Will definitely attempt to try everything on the menu as all the dishes looked great!

After reading the reviews I was expecting something special however I felt that the place did not live up to its expectations. The beef brisket hand pulled noodles were pleasant enough but the noodles are almost like mini lasagne sheets and made the dish top heavy and stodgy. The dish did not pack enough flavour and I had to add more vinegar and soy sauce to pep it up. However, the worst was the beef portion that came with the noodles which was too small, no way enough so felt a bit ripped off by this part (please see photo). The whole meal was top heavy with dense and bland. Beware of the protein portions sizes they don't stipulate what they show in their advertised photographs.

Food was very tasty and very fresh enjoyed it very much you can tell they take care I would say though that one of our meals took quite a while to come out...so we didn't get to start at the same time.i was nearly finished when my wife's food came out. In true Asian style? Great food. Smallish seating area..so I'd book to get a table. Will definitely be back. Lots of vegan options. Very friendly staff.

Delicious food and very nice staff. The veg dumplings and the vegie hand pulled biang biang noodles are amazing and definitely recommend but I know from my friends that their meety dishes are equally amazing.

The owner is very lively, and the restaurant features a modern and clean open kitchen design. The staff are incredibly attentive, and the food is served quickly. For noodle lovers, this is the top choice restaurant in Brighton!

The noodle soup here is absolutely delicious. I recommend the beef one with hand pulled noodles.

Went there for a quick lunch and was no dissapointed. The homemade dumplings were amazing as well as their hand pulled noodles and broths. Will definitely come again. Staff was great as well :)

This is the place to go for really good and comforting dumplings soups. The soups are of very good quality and the dumplings are homemade. The staff is very polite and professional. The decor is modern and clean.

Lovely little restaurant, with fishbowl kitchen. We had veggie gyoza and cabbage salad for starters, then I had the biang biang noodles, my friend had the hot and dry noodles, both vegan, from their extensive vegan menu. All dishes were excellent, and prices reasonable.

This should be your first option when looking for Chinese food in Brighton - it is incredible for the price. My recommendation would be to get the 3-in-1 (or 2-in-1 if vegetarian) biang biang noodles. I've ordered both dine-in and takeaway, dining in is better, the portions seem slightly large and, of course, the food hasn't been in transport for 20 mins. Either way, the food tastes great though. Shaanxi has become what I use as a reference when eating out in Brighton, the food is amazing and the prices are very reasonable. If the price is higher than Shaanxi, I usually expect the food to be better, which is a difficult bar to reach.

The beef noodle soup was delicious! The beef was tender, the broth was spicy and flavourful and the noodles were cooked perfectly.

Can't get enough of Shaanxi. Totally different Chinese food, based around fresh hand pulled noodles and soups. Rich, intense flavours and never a bad meal. Trying to work through every dish on the menu

One of the best noodle dishes I've had in a while. Went for the hand pulled noodles and wasn't disappointed. I had number 11, which was with pork belly. Tasted as good as it looks. Super friendly and helpful staff as well. 100% going back

Solo diner. The food was outstanding and fresh. Perfectly balanced spicy dishes and the dumplings will be forever remembered Staff are lovely and bubbly I'll be here more for work in the coming months and I'll be dining here nightly.

The noodles are delicious, but the portion is too small. I'm a girl, so I added half the noodles to make it almost enough.

We found the place by pure coincidence whilst walking down the street towards the beach. The place is well renovated and has many seats inside. When you enter, you can see the staff making the noodles from scratch. This is truly authentic chinese food, flavours are excellent and portion sizes are generous. I recommend getting the braized beef noodle and go for handpulled noodles. However, i was a bit disappointed with their raviolis (wontons) as I expected proper chili wontons (similar to Ding Tai Fung dish). It ended up being with loads of vegetables.. i might not go for this dish next time. Yet, highly recommend this restaurant!

This place is amazing - simply stylish interior, great concise menu, and incredible food. We had the smashed cucumber and vegetable dumplings to start, which were fresh and delicious. We then had the Hot and dry noodles, and the hand pulled biangbiang noodles with beef, both dishes were amazing. Can't wait to return

Yummy Biang Biang noodles. Nice hand pulled noodles, generous amount of veg and flavour. Would’ve liked abit more meat round out the dish, but the star of the show were the noodles which were 10/10. Servers were also friendly and attentive. Will be back!

They went above and beyond to ensure that we could have a table during a busy service! Since we were in the area for the one day they made an extra effort and sat us somewhere that us usually closes. The handmade noodles are delicious as well as the rest of the dishes we tried. Also the iced plum tea they had just prepared was very refreshing. I highly recommend this place if you are near by.

The lovely friendly and patient waiter was so helpful and understanding of my order! The FOOOOOD, the service is incredible! Even though she was busy! She made sure she spent her time to serve us. They gave suggestions and was so polite! They said their name was Lynn, she was stunning.

The food was amazing and the service was phenomenal. Lynn served me and my partner making us feel very welcome. She took the time to explain the menu and answered all of our questions with such passion and enthusiasm. If you're ever popping past you are in for a treat!!

Hand-made noodles are amazing! We highly recommend the beef braised noodles and biangbiang noodles. In the transparent kitchen, you can see the whole process of the chef making the noodles by hand. They taste great and you can eat with confidence~

Came here on a Saturday evening for noodles. I had braised beef noodle soup and it was very tasty. The noodles were delicious. You can see them using fresh noodles before cooking. 🍜

Smart looking little restaurant with unusual and lively menu. I tried the vegan hot and dry noodles which were really delicious. The crispy scallion pancakes were more bready than I was expecting but I know now they are different from the ones I’ve had before. The fresh flat noodles here are good - you can watch them making and cooking everything here if you sit at the front of the restaurant.

The food was average, the service was probably the worst we’ve had, the waitress accidentally gave our food to another table, then the customer told her that they didn’t order it, then the waitress just picked up both dishes, turned around and put it on our table without saying a single word and walked away. Not a pleasant experience, wouldn’t recommend.

Noodles were freshly made and tasty but the positives end there. Biang biang noodles were bland, even though I asked them to be spicy and the sesame noodles were also bland and watery. The scallion pancakes were too thick and stodgy and the cucumber salad again was bland.

Authentic Chinese cuisine from the Shanxi province of China. Most Chinese restaurants in the UK are Cantonese cuisine so this restaurant is a refreshing change to the cookie-cutter dishes that one is normally used to. Some of their specials have noodles that are prepared in-house and they use authentic Chinese spices. Highly recommended. Dog friendly too (very rare for Asian cuisine restaurants to be dog friendly in the UK for some reason)

Ordered 10 pieces fried chicken dumplings + 1 chinese beef burger = 26.80 pounds.That is totally insane, i didn't even realise it was so expensive. Last time for me , thank you

It is the best Chinese noodle in Brighton! We ordered a dry noodle and a soup noodle, both delicious, the noodles are freshly made on site.

Where shall I start?. To start with,I booked 13 people a week ahead, and as we arrived on the day, no one knew of the bookings except that one person I spoke to, so no reserved tables arranged. The soup I ordered, was mediocre, it was not as I expected.The noodles looked more like pasta than rice noodles, cooked in thin and runny tomato soup. The pork and prawn dumplings, as my English friends described it were saggy and bland. Now let's go to the service. Orders were mixed up, we had to return as one had chilies added with the lamb soup,but the real order had no chilies supposed to be. The biangbang noodle was overcooked, again soggy and sticky. We were handed a bottle of water without the glasses to drink from. And lastly, billed for something that was not issued or ordered. I felt bad as I organised the occasion for a work colleague and was totally disappointed. I relied too much on the reviews, hoping that they would live up to my expectation. Sorry, but cannot recommend. Sad to say, maybe first and last. 😕

Incredibly slow service, we were there two hours. Seems like the kitchen lost the order from our waiter, but no apology, they still left the service charge on our bill. Each starter arrived painfully slowly and all separately. We had to remind them later for the glasses of water we ordered alongside our beers. The restaurant was almost empty and it looked like they had even cleaned down the kitchen when they realised we were still missing THREE of our four main dishes (we were only four people!), and our main starter (10 dumplings.) We told them to cancel the dumplings in an attempt to speed things along (it was 9:30pm at this point, and we had arrived at 8pm). No move to offer complimentary apology dumplings (would have been a nice gesture and would have probably redeemed themselves). Finally finished eating at 10pm. The first main was obviously cold by the time the other 3 arrived. A real shame - your service let you down and we won’t be coming here again. Plenty of other places in Brighton with a better experience.

Today I tried their chopped chili powder at this restaurant and it was a feast for the taste buds! The aroma of the chopped pepper is rich and delicate, perfectly integrated with the vermicelli, and every bite is full of surprises. The chopped peppers have just the right amount of heat, enhancing the flavor without overpowering the main ingredient. The vermicelli is soft and smooth, which is a wonderful contrast to the strong character of the chopped pepper. This dish shows the chef's skill. Highly recommended for diners who love to try authentic flavors!
