Adelfia in Brighton and Hove

We read the reviews before we booked and were expecting to be blown away by the food. I had melitzana milfei as a starter. I got 3 very small pieces of aubergine, several thick slices of tomato and the cheese. I was expecting the aubergine to be the star of the dish and at £8.95 I thought it was an underwhelming starter. My husband had the dolmas which was ok. For the main course I had the yemista (stuffed peppers). It lacked flavour and was mushy. My husband had the moussaka which was full of potato and had very little aubergine in it, so he was disappointed. The staff were pleasant and attentive but we shall not be returning.

4 of us had a lovely meal on Tuesday 9th April. Andreas was a true gentlemen. The food was amazing as always. Service was great. My 13 years old son had the octopus for starter and we all had the sharing platter for main, I highly recommend it. My 10 year old daughter ate off the childrens menu, she had pasta and meatballs, also very good. The meal was reasonably priced and we will definitely be returning again in the future - From Martin

Another fantastic meal from the Andrea's and the team.....so good we came back a second night and brought a couple of friends who had never tried it before. Needless to say they will next time in Brighton and Andrea's knows we definitely will,food,ambience,customer service 5 star as usual,even though my friend broke a glass in excitement,in a word Fabulous...places like this are hard to find....make sure you try it next time your in town.

Very lovely staff, helpful and the food was great. A busy Saturday night service, although the restaurant seemed to empty quite early.

Once again I am not let down! The food at Adelfia for me is better than being in Greece. The food is always 10/10 the service you can’t compare to anywhere as it’s the best. Having been to Greece many times and Greek food being my ultimate favourite, I mean it when I say this was the best Greek food I’ve ever had. The lamb kleftico was out of this world falling off the bone and delicious, and the potatoes were so soft and tasty. My partner and I shared the kleftico, baked feta, tzatziki with bread and chicken slouvaki starter. It was the perfect amount of food and the best choices. Service was also amazing - so friendly. We can’t stop talking about the meal and cannot wait to come back 👌👌👌👌👌

Wow what an excellent find. The food was incredible - every single dish was delicious. The service was extremely friendly & on point. Lovely ambience with Greek music playing in the background. We visited for my birthday on a Saturday evening, we are not local and had travelled from Lincoln-Brighton. Our first time in Brighton and I chose Adelfia after reading multiple great reviews before our trip. We were not disappointed, food was beautiful. We had the meze starter to share (incredible!) And I had chicken gyros for main. Really pleased we chose to dine at Adelfia.

The food was very bad - the level of cheap street food. I would never come back again. Tomatoes had no taste as cheep tomatoes from supermarket the same for the olives in it1, chicken- burned burns gave bitter taste and chicken meet bad was weird ( kind of no meet fibres in it maybe because it was marinated before) Potatoes- too oily. It’s not Greek food.

Unfortunately, was disappointed with the food. 3 peaces of lamb chops, had no seasonings nor taste. Chicken souvlaki was burnt on the grill.

We had the mixed meze sharer for two, octopus, prawns and a kids meatballs. The kids portion was two meatballs only, so would be ok for younger kids. All cooked fresh and well presented. The prawn dish was delicious. Didn't love the meal to the extent would go back, but still very good.

Visited again 22nd and 23rd of December. Delicious food with a really good selection of vegetarian / vegan dishes. Butter bean and feta dishes were full of flavour. The Ravani dessert was delicious. Will definitely visit again, when we are next in Brighton.

Me and my sister had dinner last night. Our first impression was really good as a very friendly with a great smile waiter greeted us. We sat on the back room next to the wall. The escape door behind us had a draft. The wall next to the table was dirty and covered with splashes of drinks and the hanging picture about the table had the same drink splashes plus smudges of food. The waiter was excellent in his job and the orders arrived on time. The food was indifferent. Not bad and not good. The fried calamari was fried in over used frying oil and had off colour and taste. Our overall impression was indifferent food and overpriced. That was the reason we did not ordered desserts of coffee. Our experience was saved by the excellent waiter. We will not visit the place again. And finally a little advise. The choose of music was awful. Offensive skiladika on high volume is not restaurant or Greek music.

This is a delightful well run restaurant where the food ,staff and ambience is First Class. This was my second visit in eight weeks and it didn't disappoint. I would 100% recommend Adelfia to anyone.

Very friendly attentive staff. Lovely food and a cosy atmosphere

We had two options in mind for dinner, and one of those was Adelfia. First of all, the waiter didn’t welcome us at all and then very rudely said that he didn’t have a spot for us (we were 2), even though the restaurant was quite empty. We went for dinner somewhere else and on our way back home, we passed in front of Adelfia again and noticed the restaurant was even emptier than before so could definitely have taken us. This is a shame because the menu looks absolutely amazing, but definitely won’t try in the future.
