Adelfia in Brighton and Hove

We shared the selection of mezze (starters), which was delicious. The mixed souvlaki was great, and the grilled prawns were too. The homemade baklava was (as it should be) extremely sweet and outstanding. We will return!

Food and service was exceptional. The sharing platters were really tasty and the menu had a broad selection. Will 100% be returning again!

Went today for a meal with family, really lovely food and so accommodating with our buggy and young kids. Highly recommend. Thank you

This is the best Greek restaurant in Brighton. We have spent along time on Greek islands and food in the uk always disappoints - but this is the best and closest to real island Greek food we have had here. Five stars

Four of us had a meal here for first time and will definitely be back. From a warm greeting to start it just got better. Felt like talking to a friend. Really accommodating fantastic service and food. Would rate 6stars if I could.

We came here with high hopes after reading all the positive reviews. However, we were incredibly disappointed with the food. The only items we enjoyed were the tzatziki and the chips—which says a lot, as we’re not picky eaters! The rest was either overly greasy or didn’t taste fresh at all (especially the hummus, which tasted like it was on the turn). Such a shame, but we won’t be returning.

We did the 8pm sitting and found the whole experience rushed starters on the table within 5 min of ordering, as soon as as we ate the starters main was placed on the table. The food was mediocre at best, heavy on the salt, staff friendly.

Very enjoyable,food was very nice. Good friendly service in a nice relaxed setting. We only come to Brighton once in a blue moon,but will certainly come here again.

Completely got our order wrong although the server acknowledged all our requests at the time of ordering. Ordered whole fish got fillets ordered main octopus got starter size. When asked about what happened all I got was it was a misunderstanding. From my experience I suggest you go somewhere else for dinner, service is absolutely woefull.

Delicious food, we went for mixed mezedes for all three of us. Super service, good beer and wine, we enjoyed ourselves immensely. Not quite being back in Crete, but close.

AWFUL! Passed by in the afternoon and booked a table for 5 persons for 6.30 Arrived at 6.30 with our elderly parents who walked a distance with difficulty to reach and the same guy told us we have a possible place for only 3 persons and he couldn’t make any effort to fix the place to fit for all 5 of us. Rude, non respectful and impossible to be a real Greek.

I absolutely loved this restaurant... It was bright, open, and very welcoming. Staff were all happy, smiling, and friendly. The food was absolutely amazing, pipping hot and full of flavour! I was going to go back the next day too! Definitely recommend this restaurant if you're in the area and you're a fan of Greek food. Second time back to this restaurant, and the food was even better cooked perfectly. The chicken was amazing and even the chips were the best I've had. Absolutely beautiful food here. Hands down the best Greek restaurant in Brighton. We’ve been 3 times now and it’s just fantastic. Andreas and the team always make us feel incredibly welcome and looked after. The food is outstanding, takes us back to Athens every time.

Booked this restaurant for an anniversary meal. Staff were very friendly and attentive. They had gone to the trouble of placing a Happy Anniversary banner on our table which was a lovely thought. Food is exceptional probably the best I've eaten outside of Greece. A must try if you want authentic Greek cuisine. Will definitely return when we are next in Brighton.

I rarely visit Greek restaurants as I’m too critical of them being Greek myself I have high expectations. Although it took a while for our food to come out when it did Wow it was good ! Golden Cyprus potato chips, proper meat from Greece the chicken and pork souvlaki was juicy succulent and marinated perfectly. The tzatziki dip was thick and wonderful. The starters were good olives feta and Greek sausage. Had a great martini made with ouzo YUM !!! The staff are lovely and friendly. It’s a busy restaurant and popular place and you know why when you taste the food! Compliments to both Yiannis and Andreas and the front of house team.

Over rated, I had high hopes after the reviews but the food was greasy and far far too much oregano meaning it overwhelmed everything else on the plate, including the main flavour- lamb. The pea shoot garnish was off, yellowed and rancid - they should have thrown it away, it has no place on any plate. Disgusting. I don’t doubt they’re Greek but having travelled there extensively I wouldn’t say it’s a good reflection of the Greek food. It’s extremely expensive for what it is, £12.50 for one small octopus tentacle, £7.50 for a single skinny stuffed pepper. The whole place felt dirty, grubby broken laminate floors parts missing or peeling, over flowing bathroom bins, dirty skirting. I definitely wouldn’t go again.

I was there on July 18, 2024. I ordered pork gyros. The waitress was very nice but slightly confused as she didn't know what I had ordered when serving. The food was very good. The price-performance ratio is right. I would happily recommend the restaurant.

Thanks God we passed through this Greek GEM in Brighton! We were for a day visit from London for a Sunday roast, but You CANNOT dismiss this Greek Heaven. The food is OUT of this WORLD.. service is soooooo kind, welcoming, and exceptional. I highly recommend it to anyone who likes GREAT food and service. We are visiting Brighton and didn't have a plan of where we wanted to eat. We found Adelfia on trip advisor and thought we'd give it a try. What a find. The food was excellent and authentic and very good value for money. I would highly recommend the restaurant.

Omg... This food was divine. Everything we ordered was a taste sensation. Starters - vine leaves and an aubergine cheese thing called Spanakopita and the spinach filo pastry Main - Kleftico Lamb and Briam an Aubergine, potato and tomato dish. Pudding - baklava with ice cream. Do not hesitate to book! Highly recommended

The food tasted really good, but the portion sizes were nothing special. It was also really expensive, so, despite my reasonable budget of £50, I didn't have enough left over for coffee and dessert, or a tip. I left still hungry and thought about getting a bag of chips on the way home.

Very popular for a good reason. The food, the service and the atmosphere were great. Book a table rather than being disappointed at the door. Halloumi starter, delicious. Chicken Souvlaki, wow, close your eyes while eating and you could be in Greece. Very authentic. All nice and easy, very relaxed. Thank you very much.

Best Greek food we had in quiet some time

We read the reviews before we booked and were expecting to be blown away by the food. I had melitzana milfei as a starter. I got 3 very small pieces of aubergine, several thick slices of tomato and the cheese. I was expecting the aubergine to be the star of the dish and at £8.95 I thought it was an underwhelming starter. My husband had the dolmas which was ok. For the main course I had the yemista (stuffed peppers). It lacked flavour and was mushy. My husband had the moussaka which was full of potato and had very little aubergine in it, so he was disappointed. The staff were pleasant and attentive but we shall not be returning.

Another fantastic meal from the Andrea's and the team.....so good we came back a second night and brought a couple of friends who had never tried it before. Needless to say they will next time in Brighton and Andrea's knows we definitely will,food,ambience,customer service 5 star as usual,even though my friend broke a glass in excitement,in a word Fabulous...places like this are hard to find....make sure you try it next time your in town.

Having been to Greece many times and Greek food being my ultimate favourite, I mean it when I say this was the best Greek food I’ve ever had. The lamb kleftico was out of this world falling off the bone and delicious, and the potatoes were so soft and tasty. My partner and I shared the kleftico, baked feta, tzatziki with bread and chicken slouvaki starter. It was the perfect amount of food and the best choices. Service was also amazing - so friendly. We can’t stop talking about the meal and cannot wait to come back 👌👌👌👌👌

Sorry to be *that* person, but I’ve lived in Greece and Cyprus over the years and this is the best, most authentic Greek food I’ve experienced outside of either, and better presented than in either country. Definitely have the saganaki and the dolmadakia. Highly recommend. The wine was fairly priced, too (which didn’t use to be true of Greek wines on UK wine lists).

We are staying in Brighton for the weekend and went here last night, 16/3/24, after reading the reviews. I have to say the food, service and atmosphere were all a solid 10/10. If you like authentic Greek food, which is as fresh as it comes with amazing flavours, along with an amazing service that matches then make this place a must when visiting!

This local Greek restaurant is a gem! The food is top-notch—flavourful, fresh, and perfectly seasoned. The service is fantastic, with friendly staff who go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. This place delivers mouthwatering dishes and great vibes. We were a big (loud!) group and they were patient with us and didn’t make us feel rushed to leave, even though we stayed until after closing. They even gave the girls in our group valentines balloons which made their day! Can't wait to go back for more delicious Greek food!!

Came here in October 2023 and food was amazing staff so friendly really enjoyed. Came back February 2024 and it didn't disappoint would recommend to anyone.

We visited for my birthday on a Saturday evening, we are not local and had travelled from Lincoln-Brighton. Our first time in Brighton and I chose Adelfia after reading multiple great reviews before our trip. We were not disappointed, food was beautiful. We had the meze starter to share (incredible!) And I had chicken gyros for main. Really pleased we chose to dine at Adelfia.

The food was very bad - the level of cheap street food. I would never come back again. Tomatoes had no taste as cheep tomatoes from supermarket the same for the olives in it1, chicken- burned burns gave bitter taste and chicken meet bad was weird ( kind of no meet fibres in it maybe because it was marinated before) Potatoes- too oily. It’s not Greek food.
