Severn Gorge in Telford and Wrekin

First impression count and being greeted and served by Lewis was fun and welcoming he’s a credit to the Severn gorge. The food was nice just a little cold (but you wouldn’t expect it to be hot being a carvery) flavour and voice was great, the server jack was good and sociable too

John, Gav and Amelia were all amazing. It was my son’s 21st birthday and they were all so helpful and kind, I can’t recommend this place enough. Food was lovely too. Thank you. Xxxx

We had a lovely lunch here. Gavin and his team were very welcoming and managed to squeeze us in on a busy Sunday! Particular compliments to Aide the chef for a delicious meal.

What can I say popped in for a meal on Saturday greeted with a smile from a friendly barmen named Lewis took our order made sure all was ok. Even spent time with our little dog to make sure he was comfortable. Food was served quickly was hot and good valve . Enjoyed the meal and atmosphere lewis and another girl think her name was amelia great 👍

Everything was wonderful 😊 some small notes the jacket was dry and the sausage was a little black but still good and the staff where very friendly 😁

After a funeral we went for a meal some had carvery others ordered of menu it was all lovely. Food and staff excellent.

Didn't eat but carvery looked great

Good value for money food could be hotter, I'm put off the beef as always too tough,but the turkey and gammon is very nice,I suggest booking table at least one week in advance,also pigs in blankets too expensive for what they are.

We had a great server who took us to our pre-booked table, which was able to fit four adults, two babies and an assistance dog. The food was delicious and we all had the carvery. The server was also happy to turn down the music as I’m DeafBlind so loud music makes it even more difficult for me to hold a conversation with others. Had a fantastic time!

I don’t often leave reviews for casual dining, but it’s just fab for a cheap meal out, their understanding and consideration for allergies especially when it comes to the cavery. Staff are so lovely and clean up after us even though our baby made a mess. Team are all really sweet.

Chris was really great and looked after us well. The food was fantastic as always.

Birthday meal, some very picky children and adults , usually a recipe for disaster. However the amazing staff at the Severn Gorge went above and beyond to help us. The food was hot , cooked to perfection and devoured by even the picky eaters, we had a wide variety of meals too, from a mega mixed grill, to a Mac and cheese. There was not a scrap of food left on any plate. Compliments to the chef Dan. The staff who served us ,Lewis and Madison was very friendly, helpful and funny. Helping me find a non alcoholic drink 🤣 but I think the one thing I did notice was the staff WASN'T in your face every 5 minutes asking if everything was ok, or hurrying you along, this was amazing and was the reason we spent almost 2 hours there. Great food, great staff, would highly recommend ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Enjoyed a lovely Mega Mixed Grill with my friend on the 29th October 2024 in the evening. We were warmly and openly welcomed with lots of smiles and laughs by Chris and Elaine! I would like to also thank Byng for cooking the food to a high standard with perfection!

Staff were friendly, food was lovely and we didn’t have to wait too long. We ordered off the main menu but the carvery looked so nice, we’ll have to come back soon to try it

Just been for carvery lunch,which I must add was very nice,however our visit was soured by my wife's lunch being oversprayed not once but TWICE with whatever chemical is used to clean the tables,a meagre apology is what followed this huge faux par,train your staff...spray the cloth not the table especially if someone is eating at the next table,a nice lunch out sadly tainted in every sense of the word

Very welcoming and friendly efficient staff. Pub clean and nice interior. Enjoyed all food today 25/6/24 and have always had nice food here. Will come again ideal for couples families and singles.

Food was lovely and came out quick. There was no one in the restaurant when we walked in to greet us and did have to wait around. But once they came out the service was fantastic and friendly. Thanks to Elaine our waitress then also not forgetting Tim the carver and Kate the chef.

Just missed the busy period , bad staff welcomed us , knew I had a booking , had free roam so was very quiet , had a roast , was brilliant, meat was juicy and the veg was ample including the condiments which I was surprised were left , very pleasant visit will be booking again , took the hassle out of a stressful Sunday dinner so thumbs up

Not too bad, there was a decent sized queue at bar yet only one member of staff assisting until it was nearly gone at which point a manager pitched in.. The carvery for 8pm, can't expect perfection at that time of night.. I like the quieter nature of the place..

Both myself and my children have a fish and shellfish allergy. Our table was cleaned and all utensils changes prior to being served. One of the best places I have been for catering for anyone with an allergy. Lewis from the bar and Dan at the carvery have been fantastic. Thank-you. The online booking system was annoying and painstaking. The food was good, the Yorkshire pudding were a little heavy but other then that it was really nice and very filling.

We visited here on Sunday, what sold it to us was how well advertised that this establishment is dog friendly online and around the premises 🐾🐾Upon arrival having previously booked online we were greeted by Gavin, he showed us to our table and ensured all things were in order even providing our dogs with a water bowl each! 🙂 We all opted for the carvery, I was super impressed with the vegetarian offerings as stated previously, you don't see this often. I chose the vegetarian sausage and my daughter the cauliflower cheese tarr - even if you are not vegetarian I recommend giving these a try as they were delicious! Compliments to the chefs on the day Tim and John, those who had meat chose beef and were very complimentary that this was cooked to perfection so was throughly enjoyed! Also - the potatoes gratin was amazing and full of flavour! All staff encounter were friendly and efficient and the facilities were all clean - overall I would recommend here for a carvery - the price is extremely reasonable too - we will be back! We visited on the Tuesday 15th October for a lunch time carvery. We were served by Lewis at the till who was very friendly and polite. Our carvery’s were 10/10 great options for my mum who is a vegetarian ⭐️⭐️ big thankyou to John carver for great food as always! Excellent customer service provided by both Lewis and John! Went above and beyond and will definitely be returning.

Met by Amy at the front door, very pleasant greating and helped us get a seat for a carvery today. The chefs at the carvery station were polite and friendly. The food was hot and very tasty. Definitely worth the visit.

Visiting from the North East and we needed something filling, carvery it was! Good food, lots to choose from. Came away feeling replete. Only thing I would say is the veg, unless you got down to the bottom by the heat source, were luke warm. Maybe put lids on when there's no one going through the carvery? Also wasn't keen on the toilets, they need a good spruce up and get the one that is out of order fixed. Toilets are the one place, of nice establishment, that let's a place down.

After we came last week and was seen to by Amy, we decided to come back with a couple of friends. This time our visit was just as successful! We were seen to by Amy and Lewis. A friend had an allergy to nuts and Lewis was extremely knowledgeable, he referred us to an allergy section on the pub website, which my friend then looked into, he provided her with new cutlery and completely disinfected our table before we sat down. He then clarified the allergy meal when he bought it to the table. She often worries about having an allergy, but at Severn Gorge she couldn't have felt any safer. I am not 100% of Amy's position, but she always seems on the ball, with eyes everywhere and seems to lead her team very well. Amy and Lewis we thank you both for your great service and to all the chefs for such a lovely meal. No doubt we will be back again next week.

Popped in for a coffee and bite to lunch today, Amy was very professional and chatty. Made me feel most welcome, nothing was too much bother. The carvery was great, meat was tender and veggiss were fresh. Will definitely be back soon.

Coffee's were small and never very hot. Toilets need improvement, one out of use, another with no lock.

Very nice atmosphere, Amy looked after us, very nice lady and very polite so a big thankyou to her 👌🏻

Our first visit and the best carvery I’ve had in a long time! Choice of veg is amazing - red cabbage was to die for! Had a lovely experience The manager Amy very polite and friendly.

We visited Severn Gorge mid week for a carvery as we thought we would try it as had not visited for a while. The pub as a lovely atmosphere with friendly staff and we both ordered a carvery and a drink and found a table and then went to get our carvery. There was no queue at the carvery and also no server either and had to wait a while and even the lady that served us at the bar had to tell us that the server won’t be long, which was a further 5 minutes. We finally got our meat served and then served our veg which I must add was average with some of the veg being very dry. We went to the gravy station which there was only enough for one but when I asked the server on the carvery for more gravy he replied “I will get you some more now” which was 5 minutes later whilst I stood waiting for whilst my husband had his and was sat down and mine was just getting cold. The condiments of mustard, cranberry, mint sauce etc were also low and could have done with topping up. We thought that although this place is lovely it lacks enough staff to ensure that things are kept topped up with attention to detail. We felt quite sorry for the carvery server as he was expected to go everything which is impossible to do and we just think that at peak times, 4pm to 7pm there should be more staff as this improve the quality of the service.

I have an allergy and the guys on the carvery bar were really attentive and vigilant to making sure thier was no cross contamination. Everything was delicious and plenty of it and I wasn't too limited in choices because of my allergy. Amy our sever was very kind and obviously cares about the people she works with

Visited today and had the most amazing experience! The food was so delicious and came out really hot. The service we had was so professional and Amy who i believe was the manager came over to our table and made sure the food was okay for us and asked us if we needed any more drinks without us having to wait around for ages! Really polite and friendly and it was nice to see management being involved in all areas! Great value for money and I’m definitely coming back with my friends and family!

Over all the seven gorge is great only thing letting it down is the carvery not much to choose from meat was chewy roasters are not crispy enough vegetables are hard needs more work

I visited for lunch today with friends. We were greeted by staff with smiling, happy faces. Amy and Amelia waited on us and were extremely helpful, friendly and attentive and this accompanied with great food and service made for a very pleasurable experience. I will definitely be visiting again.
