Have eaten at the Seven Seas Fish & Chip Restaurant with my young pre school age son many times in the past fmainly because they are an all day restaurant and their lunchtime special (Regular fish & chips, peas, slice of bread & butter and a pot of tea) was reasonably priced and good value although the fish could be hit and miss at times taste wise but overall I've never had any reason to complain. However my visit back in May will sadly be my last as we was just left sat at a table for ten to fifteen minutes whilst the girl on the till chatted away to someone she obviously knew who had come in for a take away order. Whilst I understand that she was on her own and was having to deal with both dine in and take away customers there was nobody else in the restaurant when we entered and sat down so she wasn't exactly rushed off her feet! To add insult to injury the owner who fries the fish also saw me and my son who by now was getting quite vocal with "Daddy I'm Hungry!" just sat there waiting to order and instead of instructing his member of staff to come over and take our order decided instead to go over and join in their conversation as well! Needless to say at this point I got up and we left with my son in tears as he could not understand why we was leaving and had been looking forward to some fish & chips from Seven Seas as we hadn't been for a while. The good news is however after a short drive we managed to find an alternative all day fish & chip restaurant in the centre of nearby Standish which is just as good and slightly better value who were more than happy to take our order so my son got his fish & chips in the end. Upshot Seven Seas you have lost a semi regular customer as I'll be taking my custom to Standish from now on.

We went here after recommendations and we were so disappointed. The pies were cold, the peas hard and cold, gravy way too thick. Chips were fine. Coffee and tea could not of been any weaker. Female waitress was pleasant, cannot fault that. Sadly we won’t be using this establishment again.

All through the last 2 years, don't accept money. Contact free. Today go 10 Miles to the place & don't accept contact less, only cash. So how do they delver, it's supposed to be a restaurant. Never again.

Eat in or takeaway, never had a bad serving of fish and chips, the hot curry sauce is fantastic as well. Defiantly the best fish and chips in Wigan I'm never left disappointed. The staff are always friendly and welcoming.

Ordered pie and chips last night. My pie was drier than a camel's nostril. Safe to say we'll not be returning.

I was at the hospital close to the chip shop so went in for lunch. Not only was it spotlessly clean the meal served for £7.30 was outstanding. Cooked to perfection and so much I was unable to eat all the chips. I have never been as surprised to have found such an outstanding fish and chip shop outside my home town of Blackpool

My fish was very small and the over powerful smell and taste of amino was foul. Food left and made a quick exit.

Freshly cooked fish every time, always great chips that don’t stick together when wrapped, excellent mushy peas. What’s not to like? Also will do three sizes of fish as well as a choice of cod or haddock. Can order by phone for collection.

From Standish, the weekly jaunt to Wigan now for Fish and Chips from here, superb. My biggest compliment, it reminds me of my favourite chippy in Southport, but even better. I've never walked in and pre cooked fish been about. Get your fish it's thick and juicy, really is exceptional in my opinion.

It’s a really good chippy , great service we ate in and excellent value, if I had a complaint chips were poor and could be better , the fish and curry plus mushy peas spot on , would definitely go again.

Once bitten, twice shy. Had fish and chips from here earlier in the year. The fish was dry, stale even. Threw it away. Family said it's usually nice. Tried again tonight. Again, the fish was dry and awful. Will never return .

Quite possibly the best chippy in Wigan and certainly the only one I know of that does deep fried haggis. Nom nom nom! Eat in or take away too with quite a large, clean seating area. Friendly staff, and usually pretty quick with orders even when cooking to order. Highly recommended.

Has to throw them all away. Must have been cooked ages before, not fresh at all. Girl didn't even listen to what I ordered and got it wrong. Will not be going there again.

We went to try here mid afternoon this week. Only one other table in use, Eatery was very clean, Staff attentive and polite. We tried cod, chips, peas, bread and butter, pot of tea. The fish was good, chips were let down due to new potatoes. Bread and butter was very poorly buttered, only the middle of the slice had any. Tea was unmade, tea bag separate so we could brew to our requirements.

My hubby and I love this fish and chip shop. The food is made fresh so always hot. Chunky and tasty cod. Their peas need some work but are ok. And when they have them, not very often in an eve, the smacks are delicious. Well worth the drive to sample one chippy tea night

Called in on spare of the moment and was very impressed. For £3 you can have a small fish and chips with peas. 20 pence extra to eat in which I did, Cafe side very clean and the food was good. Fish freshly cooked ,chips not greasy and tasty peas. £3 well spent

We have visited the restaurant many times during the previous two to three years, on occasions with visitors and have been impressed with the quality of the food which was consistent and compared favourably with the more upmarket and expensive fish and chip restaurants in Yorkshire, also service and cleanliness were very good. On our most recent visit during August we were disappointed; the batter on the fish was very hard the chips were soggy rather than crisp/dry (possibly new or a change of potatoes) and mushy peas were not in a dish. The most noticeable change was cleanliness; the floor was grubby and had not been mopped around the edges, the table was tacky and the toilets which previously were immaculate had not had any tlc for some time. Service was different; previously we had felt welcome and that staff were aware of customer service but now a take it or leave it attitude was present.

I've noticed this chop shop for a while but have never been in as it always seems empty. However, we decided to venture in after a few tea time scoops yesterday. The cafe area looked closed but they let us sit inside. I have to say it was one of the best fish and chip dinners I have had. Fish absolutely lovely and white. I don't often eat fish and chips but when I do have them again I would definitely have them from here!

Many years ago when I were a lad............ there used to be a little Fish & Chip café on the corner of Wrightington St/Earl St called Earl St Chippy, but everybody knew it as "Jimmy Lowes". It was scruffy, cramped, dark, hopelessly dated, but served the best sit down Fish & Chips in the town. Sadly Jimmy passed away a few years ago, the chippy was taken over by Chinese, and this little gem was lost forever....... until now!

My 1st visit to Aroma 11/07/24. Was a little apprehensive as some of the reviews were extremely negative but also quite old. Aroma does some great set meals,I have friends that have tried them recently and would try them again. I didn’t want a set meal as you get more than I could eat so I had a lamb balti with pilau rice and garlic naan. It was delicious I watched the chef cooking it so I know it was fresh hot and tasty. I will definitely use Aroma again.

The quality of the food dishes this evening was poor. The food was clearly cooked and prepared differently than all the previous occasions that we'd had the food before. I rang and asked if they had a new or different chef and they said no. No explanation was given as to why the food was not up to their previous standard. £40 the family had cost us and I truly wished we'd opted for pizza!! Will not use them ever again which is a real shame as they were previously always very good.

Went here with my wife at 11.40 for the pizza buffet, for £28 for 2 for the buffet, ice cream and bottomless drinks. Reception was OK and as we were first their they asked what pizza we liked advised meat ones deep pans. They brought 2 mini deep pans out and one mini thin crust. OK we thought they'll bring more out as it fills up. That never happened never got past 3 pizza out and after our first deep pan request in the hour and half we were their never saw a single deep pan again just crappy thin crust or any more selection than 3 pizza out at any time despite it going to over 30 people in the restaurant. Don't know why no deep pans came out given this is what pizza hut is famous for. On top of that the constant messages for tips, QR code order at table do you want to leave a tip? Email after do you want to leave a tip? I ordered myself, I got the food myself, I got the drinks myself, I got ice cream myself and the selection was abysmal, plus getting random stares as chatting with my wife. The worst pizza hut I've ever experienced and wouldn't come back. I get they don't want to put massive pizzas out if not loads of people but to call it a buffet you need a selection beyond 3 pizzas
