The quality of the food dishes this evening was poor. The food was clearly cooked and prepared differently than all the previous occasions that we'd had the food before. I rang and asked if they had a new or different chef and they said no. No explanation was given as to why the food was not up to their previous standard. £40 the family had cost us and I truly wished we'd opted for pizza!! Will not use them ever again which is a real shame as they were previously always very good.

This is me and my partner’s favourite Chinese in Wigan. We get a salt and a pepper box each time for only £10. Great value for money.

Ordered salt and pepper chicken wings and salt and pepper chips and both were bland and tasteless and to add insult to injury there was hardly any meat on the wings they were like sparrow wings. Worth mentioning how rude the staff are too.

I ordered in the shop, 2 meals. Special fried rice with curry sauce, and a special main course, with Malaysian triple sauce and egg fried rice, waited around 10 minutes and paid £16. Collected my food and drove home to Orrell. I unpacked my food and found 2 tubs of yellow boiled rice, 1 curry sauce, 1 special main (the only bit they got right) and 1 Malaysian Satay . I phoned to question it, she said the Malaysian triple and Malaysian Satay are basically the same except the Satay has extra in it, (not what I wanted. I queried the yellow boiled rice , she explained it as "wet rice", I told her I wanted egg fried rice and 1 Special fried rice, She asked me "what is in special fried rice, we just cook it with spring onions ?" She then offered to replace the yellow boiled rice with "spring onion rice", but not the Malaysian sauce, and only if I drove to collect again. I just hung up the phone and couldn`t be bothered going back. First and last time I go here.

The fired wok will do take away or if you phone up will deliver. This is one menu you should keep and not bin if you get one. It has an open kitchen so uniquely you can see the food cooking and just how clean this place is! A definite bonus for me. The food is second to none it has a full menu of delicious foods you need to take a menu then sit and decide what u want then order it unless you have particular favorites . You won't go anywhere else after you have eaten from here they even have thick chips not skinny ones !

I returned to using this takeaway when it recovered from a hygiene rating of 1 (Urgent improvement necessary) a couple of years ago, to a much better hygiene rating of 4. It has just sunk back down to a level of 2. So, I won't feel able to dine from here again before it improves attitudes to food hygiene again. It's lovely when I feel I can trust the food I'm ordering, but I won't take the risk again until I see that rating climb!

The Fired Wok is an excellent Chinese takeaway with a very varied menu. I particularly like the special all in one boxes, as I find this is just enough to fill me up and is price very fair. We often order the set meal for 4 between 6 of us and find it stretches fine, very good value at £33. Free delivery within a 3 mile radius is always a bonus!

terrible the sweet and sour Pork was on the underside of average. The Duck was poor quality and very little quantity about 4-5 small pieces of duck per portion ( removing the under average sauce then 4-5 small mouth fulls) and I do not have a big appetite. 3 meals was not enough for 3 people with lower than average food intake (we are not big eaters). and it was quite expensive for the area at 17.00 with 2 chips and 1 small rice.. sorry I will never ever go back...

Most of my friends rave about this Chinese, its probably better than most in Beech Hill but there is better if you drive a couple of miles away. The beef in my curry was slimy and inedible and the chicken and mushroom had chunks of garlic in it which totally dominated the flavour. The fried rice was very dry but tasty. Price wise its quite reasonable.

We order from the Fired Wok nearly every Friday. My husband could live off the Chicken Foo Yung and Fried Rice. My personal favourite is the Chicken Satay, slightly spicy and delicious. I also love the Chicken in Black Pepper sauce. The Fried Rice is lovely, however, I would prefer the chips if they were made from freshly chipped potatoes. Excellent food and the only Chinese I would visit.

Every time we have ordered from this takeaway it's been spot on. Highly recommend the salt and pepper chicken wings and the hot dragon chow mein! The food is always really tasty and ready on time for collection, service is always good.We ordered quite a few dishes on Saturday as we had family over to stay and they agreed it was the best Chinese takeaway they had had in a long time.

For me, this is the best Chinese take-away for miles. Service is always efficient and friendly and the food is deliciously authentic and value for money. They also make fantastic chips. So, if you want a full banquet or just the makings of a good, late-night chip butty - this is the place.

After 25yrs of no complaints watsoever, the quality of food has gone downhill lately. Cantonese beef is nothing like it used to be, wrong colour, yellow instead of brown and with an overpowering curry
