Love this place for many different reasons. You can get all your local Portugal cuisine here as well as fresh pastries, coffee and sandwiches. On this occasion went for a cappuccino and a ham & cheese toastie (tosta mista). The service was great (I think his name was Antonio) but he was very efficient and friendly. The toastie tasted amazing and would certainly be going again.

Amazing Portugese patisserie which also serves food with a few seats outside. All your traditional groceries in the store and fresh pastel de natas a long with other fresh bakeries are to die for. Antonio is always great when serving me and is always polite and efficient. A must try with great service.

I always go to this place, for the food and reasonable products, it makes me miss home. The owner of the store is extremely ordinary and thinks he can talk to customers however he wants and feels like... he sings loudly and in an annoying way... Learn to have manners and treat the customer. Because if I go with my money and pay for the products, you're not doing me any favors. It is not the only Portuguese establishment, there are others with better customer service

It was just last week (23.12.21) that I was absolutely mistreated at this store. Shortly before entering the shop, I suffered racist abuse being called a ‘black sh1t’ by three (white) fellow customers in Portuguese with them not knowing that I would understand, over an extremely minor parking incident (which I was not at fault). However, I took it on my stride and decided to proceed with my errands at the delicatessen. Not long after entering, the group of women directed themselves at me hurling threat-like verbal abuse, claiming that I was looking at them in a sinister manner. After attempting to defend myself against this verbal attack, the shop owner aggressively approached us. Instead of trying to diffuse the situation, however, the shop owner began shouting at me that this was his store and he did not want any chaos inside (using a derogatory term in Portuguese). Clearly, the correct way to deal with the situation would be to calmly speak to us to understand what was going on. Yet, he continued shouting at only me, a lone customer against three others, while cornering me and making assertive gestures, even as I was trying to explain what had occurred outside shortly before. The shop owner then proceeded to treat the group of women as if they had done nothing wrong (endearingly calling them ladies) while I was treated very bluntly. Evidently, the shop owner acted in an unacceptable, aggressive manner with racist intent – he relied on stereotypes of the ‘angry black woman’ as he immediately assumed I was the one that had triggered the situation inside his premises when it was, in fact, the three white women who had already racially insulted me prior shopping. It is incomprehensible that someone would corner their client and act so aggressively without a valid reason other than siding with his white counterparts instead of rightly diffusing a situation and acting accordingly. At that moment, I felt unsafe and extremely uncomfortable. I have proceeded to report the incident to the police as a case of harassment and misconduct. As for the three women the hate crime was also reported.

Bustling place rich with the sound and smell of (well Italy I thought) Portugal. The smells of bread, meats, coffee were too much to resist so I made a stop to sample their delights. I managers to get a coffee and a beautiful sandwich. Freshly made on a freshly made bread of my choice for less than a fiver. I had change. Now there are places all over this city - most of them chains, high street conglomerates, capitalist brands where you would pay twice as much as I paid for some mass produced, not fresh product. The mind boggles. Go to Serrana. The coffee is better. The food is fresher. The prices are lower.

Whilst walking from Stockwell to the Oval came across Serrana. Stepped inside and you could have been in Portugal. Great selection of food and wine including Portuguese pottery.I had a great coffee and a veal escalope in a great baguette sitting outside in the sun. Worth a visit.

Having a Portuguese wife and spending a lot of time in Portugal, I am a Brit with a lot of experience of Portuguese establishments, I guess. Simple cooked dishes each day and a wide range of cake, coffee, etc. Great to pop in for a quick snack (English is spoken as most of the staff or Portuguese Londoners) and theuy have a good selection of fresh and store cupboard Portuguese products at good prices. Good value and friendly service.

In the heart of Stockwell with all that the Portuguese people need!! You can just shop whatever you need from beverage to gourmet with a wide selection of products. Cod, cheese, olives... you name it! You can sit indoors having an espresso and pastel de nata or on a recently added area outdoors and enjoy the traffic!! Well worth a visit!!

The pastel de nata are significantly better than many I have had in Portugal; the coffee is really tasty; the selection of Portuguese products is extensive; and the price is fantastic - 4 coffees and pastel de nata for under a tenner.

Cócteles fabulosos y personal amable. Una joya local. Si estás en el área y buscas verdaderos cócteles, no busques más, no hay mucho más en el área que pueda competir.

6 friends on our way to a gig at the O2 Academy, Brixton, got off the Tube at Stockwell to walk to Brixton, hoping to find somewhere to eat on the way. We stumbled upon Sintra, which looked interesting and were made welcome. The service was excellent, they made us feel very at home. The food was excellent, and different to usual offerings from steakhouses, ethnic and hipster restaurants. Portuguese, with plenty of fish, but also various meat and veggie stuff. We all loved it.

Whenever we can find monk fish on a menu it’s a bonus. Meal was served on a hanging kebab with grilled veg and prawns. Plenty to share and order with small starters. Felt like being back in Porto.
