Pico Bar & Grill in Lambeth

This is my favourite restaurant in London. Salmon is fantastic with hollandaise sauce Friendly service in a Portuguese atmosphere Very reasonable prices. If you cannot eat all of your dinner, you can bring it home for lunch the next day. Highly recommend the Puco Bar and Grill

Casual place but very nice, good location, handy to pick up dinner before/ after shows or drinks around the area; friendly staff and efficient, place is neat, food is wonderful for the value!

We came upon Pico walking by and looking for somewhere nice for a late lunch. Welcoming atmosphere, comfortable seating. We had the Tapas menu. 7 different dishes and all delicious and freshly cooked. Attentive friendly staff. We weren’t at all rushed, the service was good. Very clean. Would definitely return.

Perhaps the items I ordered were just lost in translation for my American taste. Prawns in US are very large shrimp and a cocktail would include a spicy tomato based dip/sauce. The stuffed mushroom dish was more of a stew. Calamari was large and tender! Drinks were great and location was great

What a disaster, will never go back

I have gone here since a young child and every meal has been nothing short of perfect . The chicken wings are insane and the general atmosphere is 10/10, truly a gem !!

The paella wasn’t good. It doesn’t look’s good it doesn’t taste like paella. They don’t know how to make a proper Spanish paella. That plate should cost 20£ also the toast with tomate doesn’t good the onion was burn. Will be my first and last order.

Great food and attentive service

My third and last time, unfortunately I don't know what happened to this restaurant. I've had very good service, quality food, but my last experience was not pleasant at all. Untrained staff, unfriendly…no friendliness at all…food to be desired! And finally, the worst espresso I've ever had...unfortunately, I won't be back!!

We hadn’t been here for a while and ordered our go-to favourite, mixed seafood grill. Was worried that quality may not have held up but needn’t have. In fact, it was better than ever - a massive platter of delicious fish and seafood cooked to perfection with a delicious BBQ style flavour. Service was great too and the house wine is always good and very reasonably priced.

Two black people walk in and didn’t want to serve us. We had our luggage with us and I’m sure the manager knows who we are. What a way to treat tourist. First time here In London. Ridiculous service and still had 40 minutes left and turned us way. Do not recommend.

Really rate the food, cooked by chefs who we could see preparing our meals. The duck breast with redcurrent and red wine sauce was especially delicious and we also enjoyed the Picardinho de Porco with its delicious garlic gravy. The portion sizes were very large, and the price paid for the quality and quantity was excellent. There was an attractive garden area in front of the restaurant but it was a bit cool to sit outside. We were in the area for another event and so had not planned to eat here specifically, but were so pleased we decided on this restaurant! Combined with the helpfullness of the staff - top marks. For wheelchair users or the less mobile there was also a brilliant lift down the 5 or so stairs from the spacious bar area to the dining area. Thank you to all staff!

Pico is my go-to place for a reliable restaurant with a great menu and quality food. The Pico Pizzas are excellent value for money, and the tapas is tasty. The menu is very clear and concise, and there is a good mix of the nicer, expensive dishes, and some good solid dishes that work well for kids and more picky adults as well. I usually go for a decaf coffee as a digestif to finish off. Service is excellent and the tables are always well set. There is always a random football match on the TV as well, if you want to sit by yourself on a weekend and just relax with some drinks and tapas.

Been visiting Pico for several years and at first was excellent even recommended and was also very pleased, sadly over the years service and quality has slowly been dropping. Last visit 17th Dec '23, main course for two people Duck Breast was ordered with mushroom cream sauce, one came back plain, other had a red current sauce, one cooked well other well under cooked when mentioned waiter returned saying it was cooked as medium, ( thought was a bit rude from waiter) Two same meals ordered both came back different. At the time we was the first in so Pico were not that busy. Waiter needs more training to get order correct. It was only two people ordering the same meal, at a non busy time. In these difficult times of expense of cost of living a better service on quality would have been appreciated. Having paid our bill the another waiter then gave us a menu for dessert. Sadly as we have seen standards fall over the years we will be going elsewhere for future meals, and will not recommend Picos. As for temperature it was on cold side for both of us, It was not busy at time of booking as we had booked 12-00pm, staff was still arriving shortly after. TV showed Football of a Premiership Game from day before.

Good portion of fish and healthy food. But the service is slow. Not sure because of our big table?

I was really hoping for better. Took about 20 minutes to get a chicken and rice tapas. No flavor. Chicken was cut with bone. Almost cut my mouth on the bone because I wasn't expecting it.

Absolutely disgusting food.. The paella even had a rotten red pepper. My advice to the owners is sell the business before your struggling kitchen poisons someone one day. Shocking, because over a year ago the food here was amazing. Something has changed.

My family and I ate here to celebrate a birthday. We had a good time. Lots of bread , butter and spreads to accompany your meal. Food took a little time to come out. Pizza has a lot of cheese and not much dough. Maybe avoid the pizza. The best dishes were the Perri chicken, the spaghetti and breaded chicken. I would visit again if in the area

Nice service. The food was ok but not great. Ordered sardines, croquettes and bruschetta. The bruschetta was really soggy, far too much oil. Sardines were good. The croquettes were mediocre.

We ate here and had a great meal prior to our trip around the UK and Ireland. We returned after our trip and again had a fantastic meal - the best meals of the whole trip. Thank you!

While visiting London for the first time we were walking looking for a place to have supper. My wife had the Vegetable soup and side of fries and I had the Tagliatelle with Bolognese sauce, with a local cider. We both enjoyed our meals, in particular the fresh cut fries.

Killing time before moving on. Cut a long story short, no smile, no welcome. Ordered 2 pints, brought machine, presented to me without any idea how much I was expected to pay. Had to ask. Crazy that on that one time visit I have no desire to return.

We enjoyed our dinner here - grilled salmon - great portions and really nice quality fish with a nice fatty content. Sides were potato and vegetables. Seating inside and out. Overall enjoyable.

Good service but that’s about it. Food price to quality ratio is way off tbh.A tapas place in Vauxhall charging over £ 8.95 for pimento Padron is definition of a rip off. p. bravas were basic. Garlic prawns were £12. Prices are in the category of upscale Barrafina but quality doesn’t match.

Worst burrito in a long time…generous enough for chicken but only other ingredient was rice….really not much flavour. Nachos were reconstituted but Guacamole was good. Service was fast and professional…definitely going through the motions as didn’t pick up on dissatisfaction.

The food here is absolutely fantastic! Of the two times I've been I've had the Paella Valenciana and the bitoque de frango. Both were very good. I've heard things about the salmon and the chicken piri piri as well

Terrible paella - overcooked and dry. Left most of it. Over £100 for lunch. Staff basically ignored our comments on the dreadful dish.

Came for a drink and a snack, got some garlic chicken - genuinely the most dry, overcooked and tasteless chicken I've ever had and just consumed it for nourishment even though it was awful (and not cheap at that). Do not recommend :( Interior is not well decorated and the lighting is quite off-putting too.

This was a small dinner party to celebrate my 82nd birthday. I booked there because they had catered so beautifully for my 80+1 birthday last year. Once again the service was impeccable. We started with a glass of Prosecco each while our order for tapas was prepared. We received perfectly ripe melon with ham, whitebait, mushrooms with garlic, prawns with avocado, a T-bone steak - a total of eight dishes cooked perfectly. Their White House wine is superb and we feasted well. I thought we ought to have liquor with our deserts and so glasses of Bierce on ice came with the delicious deserts made there. That should have been enough for us but the restaurant gave us a farewell passion fruit liquor. We departed very happy and very full!

Friendly staff but was very rushed to take food orders when just having our first drink. I like to take my time before ordering food but was asked by waiter at least 3 times and was only seated about 15 minutes. It wasn't terribly busy so did not no why the rush! Ordered bolanaise, it came tepid and I don't think it was very fresh. Husband ordered ribeye, also wasn't great. Finished within the hour. Was supposed to be an evening out I might as well got a takeaway, probably would've waited longer for delivery.

Came across this bar simply by accident to catch up with wonderful friends. The hospitality is second to none and although we only ordered chips and drink the vibe was amazing. Thank you so much x

Love this place, tend eat from the tapas menu, which is not huge, but has plenty of choice. The sardines are really nice. The house red is really drinkable and very reasonably priced. The staff are friendly and attentive, but give you plenty of space.

I love this place. It has proper old fashioned serious at table service with proper serviettes, the waiters are so lovely. The food is all generous, beautifully cooked and served properly. My favourites are sirloin steak, absolutely perfect medium rare not found anywhere else and been to a tonne of steak joints. Chicken milanese, essentially a huge chicken schnitzel with side of spaghetti in tomato sauce. Just yumm!! Pizzas come fully loaded. Salads and tapas are great too. Really recommend the apple flan too 😁😁

One of the best Portuguese restaurant in my town. On my first visit, I asked the waiter what kind of food he recommended, and he said all the food would be good, but actually all the food was really great. I gave a 6 stars last spring and I used to look forward to the seafood paella. But this time I was extremely disappointed. The paella was tasteless. There was broken mussle shells all over the paella. Some burnt. And it wasn't hot! It ended in the trash! The rest of our £38.42 take away was the same - tasteless! A waste of our money! Never again!

I have eaten there twice on business trips so I will say that the 1st meal was off the charts, and the 2nd meal was as good and even better. The food there is absolutely amazing the servers are fun and I have to say everyone is very attractive and happy. We all know that happiness is attractive in itself. They seem to be so happy to be there working in that spot. If you have time to stop here I promise you will not be disappointed and the wine is also top of the line. I cannot wait to go back again at the end of the month on my next business trip.

I use to love this place,however,las week being there with a friend,and Order,"Pasteis de Bacalhau;Fish corkets",I could not believe,how they cut the sizes of the crokets,in less than half!!!,Extremely Disappointed!!

Three of us arrived for lunch on Sunday afternoon to find a busy, bustling restaurant. We were greeted and, luckily, a table was found for us. We thoroughly enjoyed our tapas starters. I then had sardines and the others had calves liver in Madeira sauce. Everything was excellent – so much so that we even had desserts and returned for lunch two days later. The service was friendly and efficient and we’d love to return if we are in this part of London.

Seeing pieces of a supermarket frankfurter on top of a "Meat Feast" pizza was quite a surprise, bringing memories of the cheap food of my student years. I tried one, and it tasted uncooked! Goodwill was impossible to maintain after that. A mushroom-and-ham pizza was decent but bland, patatas bravas looked like they were cooked half an hour ago, and I was not even tempted by the other tapa my wife ordered, which looked like a cutlet with rice.

There are two Portuguese restaurants close byon the Albert Embankment in Vauxhall and they could not be more different. We've been in Britain for over two weeks and our dinner at Picos tonight was the best. Partner had duck, I had liver smothered with mushrooms and a madeira sauce. You say you don't like liver? You do. You just haven't tasted the liver at this restaurant. With our meat dishes, we each had a spectacular plate of vegetables, small pan fried potatoes, sugar snap peas, carrots. Whom we took to be the manager approached us a couple of times during the evening asking how things were. The waiters were very attentive, the prices more than reasonable. This restaurant is absolutely wonderful.

Had dinner here with my brothers and sisters this week. The food was excellent and loads of it too and the value for money had me thinking we had been undercharged. Would definitely recommend this place for everyone.

We have now eaten 4 times since arriving in London 6 days ago, it is that good. Every night we tried something else and they all came out with beautiful presentation, quality food, and great taste. We could not be happier. We plan on going again every other night we are here in London in September.
