I came here with mam for a cuppa, though partly because another place up the street had closed - at half 2! This is a nice little place with disabled access and a mixed toilet, which I didn't have an issue with. They had just stopped serving food when we got there but we weren't hungry anyway after a cooked breakfast at Mainsgill on the A66.

This new business seems to be trying to create a vegetarian option in the dales - effort appreciated - but the execution is lacking. The tea was fine (open bowls of sugar cubes which are a hygiene nightmare) but the the toilets are unisex (“inclusive”) so men have weed on both seats making them unuseable for anyone who needs to sit - notably women. When toilets are needed by women for various bodily functions, are removed so women’s needs cannot be hygienically met, women’s lives are restricted. This move to “include” men in female spaces makes them a nightmare for women. The problem would be partially solved having one sitting and the other for standing. The next nearest toilets are in a Costa, which is also an “inclusive” company, so women’s hygienic spaces are no longer guaranteed. I hope in time the owners and staff will be more confident in their approach and provide for the actual needs of female customers.

Lovely coffee shop. No de-caf tea available but they had camomile and a nice selection of teas. Great coffee and very friendly staff. Also bought some of the rebel fudge from there which is amazing!

I ordered a vegan lunch spread from Serendipitea for 20 people for an event I was holding at my house. The owner was really helpful and made a menu to match my budget. The food was super yum and there was a great selection of sandwiches and nibbles and scones, and it was all presented really nicely. Everyone enjoyed it, even the more Veggie sceptic guests

A lovely new family run cafe with some nice deli options to take away too. I tried some of the jams - al lovely treat. The cafe is light & airy, has lovely wooden leaf shaped tables & feels both traditional but with a lovely quirky edge. The menu caterers well for lots of options - veggie/vegan/gluten free but you can still have your sausage sandwich with all of the above - what’s not to love?! It is also accessible - am a part time wheelchair user but today visited on my walking sticks but ramps down which was good to see - it’s not always easy in older buildings. Good choice of hot & cold drinks, friendly & good service - it’s my new favourite in Bedale - I’ll be back to try the cakes next. I can see them being very popular over the summer!

Awesome new little cafe in the heart of Bedale. We popped by to show our support to local businesses, lovely and welcoming, plenty of places to sit and dog friendly. We had a panini each which was tasty and well presented, personally I'd have liked a little more cheese on mine but maybe thats just down to personal taste. We'll be back to try the pancakes soon!

I have been a few times and can highly recommend. Being a vegan who has coeliac disease it is very hard to eat out due to lack of options but Serendipitea has all bases covered and a great menu with lots of options.

First visit to Bedale. Thought we would have a little brunch. It was great to find a dog friendly cafe. Arrived at 11.01am. Asked for pancakes and a roll and sausage. We were told it was too late for cooked items as breakfast finished at 11am. Only cakes available as I believe lunch didn’t start until 12. Lost this sale and future sales You would think after being hit hard after a 2 year pandemic businesses would be more flexible I am a small independent business owner and like to support other small businesses I have been able to adjust to suit circumstances

Wonderful, new little café / takeaway bang in the centre of Bedale. Vegan / veggie food (despite not being veggie myself) which was super nice for a little brunch stop. Super friendly staff and delicious hot drinks, made for a cracking start to the weekend. Should have taken some pictures! I hope this is as successful as it deserves to be.

We were staying at Hunton on holiday and wanted a local cafe so that we didn’t have to drive too far, ‘The Nest’ did not disappoint. What an incredible location, really friendly staff and gorgeous scones. Given that my Mum made thousands of them when we had a restaurant (and hers were always delicious), she gave 10/10 for the cherry one and I’d give the same rating for my yummy cheese one. If you like scones, stunning views and cute animals, this is the place for you!

Cosy and friendly little cafe attached to the Millbry Hill shop but with its own entrance looking out over the bridge and the River Leven in Stokesley. Would definitely recommend the cheese scones.
