I visited with my friends after finding this place online. We travelled 30 minutes to visit and it was so worth it! The staff were so lovely and helpful recommending what things to get. The food was hot and tasty and we will definitely be back! Such a lovely tiny place! Lots of parking and so easy to find 🩵

Most authentic of Korean restaurants in Cardiff. Very homely setting. Delicious kimchi. Must visit at least once for the experience of a lifetime.

This place was great, the staff were lovely - took us through the full menu and told us her favourites but also very accommodating with my dietary requirements. Delicious, fresh food, served fast. Will definitely be back soon :)

First taste of Korean food & thoroughly enjoyed it. Staying at nearby Premier Inn & liked the sound of this place. Unique, quirky, fab food & lovely helpful service. Would love to return.

This restaurant is hard to find but it’s well worth it. Brilliant Korean food (but remember to ask for extra spice).

What a great find! I have driven past this hidden gem many times but tonight had the opportunity to visit. It is a quirky place with a distinctly Korean vibe and a handful of tables - most of which were full. I’m not surprised! The food was wonderful - particularly the homemade kimchi - so flavoursome and tangy. The service was friendly, quickly and the food delicious and piping hot! Great selection for vegetarians. I would definitely go back.

Meant to make reservations in order to eat at this restaurant however the host graciously accepted myself and my girlfriend without reservation. The service and food were absolutely amazing and very reasonably priced. 10/10 recommend and will definitely be returning. Great recommendations on what to order and very well prepared, presented and explained the menu and Korean BBQ experience.

Finally stopped driving past this place and popped in, having only ever tried 'Korean inspired' food before I'm very happy with the real deal! The bipanbap and the kimchi chige hotpot blew me away. I will absolutely be coming back

Hands down best Korean I have tried. I am an amature in Korean food and always thought Kimchi restaurant was the only Korean place in Cardiff. This place took Korean food experience to another level. Very authentic, very clean, incredibly tasty. Wait csn be long especially as it runs by a family so do not expect fast paste environment. If you are ok with that I guarantee you , you will love it

Visited here last night with my partner. Heads up, you need to book in advance for a table and the sign on the main road that leads to the restaurant is practically hidden so make sure you keep your eyes peeled. The building doesn't look like a restaurant or a B&B really, in fact you almost feel like you've pulled up outside of someone's home. There's no parking bays outside so you just have to park wherever there's room. Besides all of that, the entrance is charming and the owner is really friendly. We arrived at 6pm and were greeted as she invited us in where she promptly showed us to the dining area and seated us. Unfortunately the main radiator was broken but she had made the effort to provide us with a small heater so we'd be comfortable. The dining room was still chilly but I definitely appreciated her effort and thought. She explained the menu to us, made suggestions based on her personal recommendations and local favourites and then left us for a little while to make up our mind. We ended up ordering the gyoza, yum yum chicken, chap che, bibimbap, thinly sliced beef, herb chicken and pork belly for the yakiniku. I also asked for a portion of bulgogi which she happily added onto the order for us despite it not being on the menu. I found out at the end of the visit the owner cooks everything and I must say it's all delicious. Your order will arrive over a period of time rather than all at once but I didn't see this as an issue since 1. the waiting time was reasonable 2. by the time i'd finished one dish i was only waiting 5-10 mins for the next thing to arrive. So first up, the gyoza! Absolutely delicious and perfect size for a starter. The dumplings were soft with a crispy bottom full of juicy flavourful pork and green onions i believe. Really delicious and moreish. Next up was the yum yum chicken and my god it blew everything else out of the water. I would honestly return just for this dish alone. Insanely crispy with a sweet and subtly spicy sauce coating. The chicken was still moist and tasty, honestly the whole portion was amazing- we got 8 pieces which was great. Onto the yakiniku, chap che and bibimbap. I thought the portion sizes for the yakiniku meats was fair- I think if you only ordered the meats you'd be disappointed. I definitely think this style of dining is best enjoyed when you combo sides together. The bibimbap was really tasty and hot. I asked for soy sauce instead of the hot pepper paste and i ended up with a savoury sweet rice bowl which i could pair with the various meats I cooked up on the grill. All of the meats were nice cuts and tasted great. My partner said he enjoyed the chap che too. I didn't end up eating everything as I ended up getting too full but I was very pleasantly surprised by everything and enjoyed my time. As i mentioned earlier the owner was very friendly and warm, not pushy at all and happy to help. The biggest thing I would improve is the atmosphere of the dining area. It's very quiet and there's no ambience. The walls are all plain white and the furniture is standard wooden tables and chairs with no colour. I feel like the room could have had some music quietly playing and some more character or colour. I honestly felt like I was posted up in someone's home where they'd just moved in haha Definitely recommend if you're looking for an authentic korean meal though! I feel like this one could be easily missed due to the lack of on road advertising but please give it a go if you're interested!

This is by far the best Korean bbq in Cardiff. The Yum Yum fried chicken is outstanding and so crispy. The BBQ meats and the bibimbap are delicious and also, the people running Seoul House are so lovely and provide amazing service.

We had a really bad experience in this restaurant. Had to wait for an hour ro get our food which was so disappointing. Food was okay but the portion was not enough for the price to pay. Would never go back. If someone willing to go, please call first and make order at least 30mins before you arrive at the restaurant. Staff was friendly. Thank you.

One of best restaurants in Cardiff!

Quite simply the best Korean food I’ve eaten outside of Korea, including Atlanta. The Kimchi pancake was hot and crispy, the chicken wings were beyond description they were crispy and drenched in honey and gochujang …. Just perfection. I honestly feel that I’ve robbed myself not eating here till now.

This used to be better, but sadly under new ownership (since around 2017) has suffered immensely obviously from COVID-19 etc. However, unfortunately it does not help that the quality of food has also reduced. For example, the Pajun (seafood pancake) used to contain lots of seafood, including baby squid and prawns, and was fried crispy. Now they are more resembling of a thick dough with half a spring onion and 5 tiny pieces of squid buried somewhere inside. He who finds one shall have a year of good fortune! Likewise, Yaki Niku/Korean barbecue is always going to be expensive, but it begins to feel stingy when a set for 2 persons contains one lonely slice of courgette amongst the vegetables (the others being some onion, a mushroom or two, a slice of potato (!), and a slice of carrot. On this visit the cuts of meat were of lesser quality, including belly pork with chewy skin. There used to be side dishes served, but this is also no longer the case, so it feels like the restaurant is being strung along in a major cost cutting exercise. The building itself is quite clearly aging and in dire need of investment. This was already the case years ago, but still using a single bathroom extractor fan in an attempt to move the greasy air... well, just expect to come out smelling of dinner. The equipment is likewise getting old, and while I remember years ago the owner running around from table to table, helping customers to gently clean the grills, they have eventually been scratched and aren't as non-stick as they used to be. That's most likely not the current owner's fault, however, they've clearly got their hands full as soon as there are two or more tables to serve, so one additional person could make a positive difference to being able to attend and keep the equipment in good order and have the time to teach customers, who in this country are likely not as used to this way of eating, nor as considerate as in Korea, how to use it properly. Some paper towels and a non-scratchy implement for cleaning between meats would help greatly if and when time can't be given. I really wish for this place to succeed, because I love Korean food, and because there are few such places around. However, to do so I think there needs to be a rethink on how to serve quality. I'd rather pay another 10-20% extra and be wowed, than to go away wondering if I could have done this better at home. And improving the interior with a lick of paint, decent lighting, and good extraction like they do in such places in Korea and Japan (extractor per table) would be a fantastic first step to improving the overall experience.

Unreasonable small size of dish. The price compare with the quantity and quality of food is very expensive. Won't consider to go again and won't recommend to anyone.

This Korean restaurant is a hidden gem in Cardiff. Quite hard to find but worth it when you do. I would definitely recommend a visit but make sure to call for a reservation. This restaurant is authentic, and provides outstanding service.

The best Korean restaurant in cardiff. （another one is not authentic）Far from city center, with a B&B hotel. The owner is Korean. The typical fried chicken and bibimbap are very yummy. BBQ meat is quite good but serving is small. Enough for me and my bf, if you eat a lot you have to order more. The food is not cheap here. We came here twice and we will back!

Don't judge this place from the outside. The food was great, we enjoyed a great selection of starters and then multiple different meats on the Korean BBQ. The service was friendly all night and they provided great recommendations on the food and drinks.

This is by far the worst place I've eaten in my life, the portions of food were tiny, almost non existent in some cases, the meat supplied was of cheap quality, the dishes were served very far apart considering it was only me and my wife there, there was no atmosphere to the place whatsoever, the walls of the building were either stained or blown, the TOWEL(not paper or hand dryer) in the single toilet felt very stiff to the touch, I would recommend that if you can avoid this place, do so.

Super small portion, it’s like a portion for kids, and the waiting time is loooong. I’ve been to a lot of korean bbq restaurant but this is the far worst, i’m sorry but it is really bad. If you have other options go for that but not this one!

Best Restaurant in Cardiff and Newport! Outstanding service, delicious authentic Korean cuisine and food is just brilliant each and every time, even after our 100th visit. Book ahead as it tends to get busy.

Really really small portions, with a 10% service charge. We had high expectations due to the overall good reviews, but the food portion was just so small. The price was normal price but compare with the small portion it was ultra expensive. Food taste was okay, BBQ was not great. Ramen was shockingly just instant noodle. Overall was a really bad experience, please avoid at all cost.

Seoul House is set back from the road a little which is a real shame as many people will miss out on the delicious Korean/Japanese food served here. It's more than reasonably priced for the quantity and quality of food that you will receive. I will definitely be visiting again!

The service was lovely and lady explained everything. Starter and chicken we ordered were absolutely delicious. I strongly recommend kimchi gayoza they are so good!!! The design of restaurant entrance hall is very interesting. The prices are quite affordable. Unfortunately, the BBQ set was disappointing in the amount and quality of meat. In addition place is quite dated, which is not optimal for restaurant.

Delicious authentic Korean food

Used to be really good but since it changed owners it's only focused on business profit. Pork BBQ was wafer thin, every item is overpriced, no atmosphere. Not bad if you've never had Korean food before but sadly it's let down by making you feel like a number rather than a customer.

unfortunately, not the best korean reataurant or not even mediocre, for someone who has been to alot of korean restaurants and enjoys korean food this was disappointing. For the people who is familiar with korean food, i dont recommend the place. for people who just want to try, try it. Just 1 star for the effort of atleast oppenning a korean place in cardiff

Great service and great food. The waitress was happy to explain the menu and give recommendations. The best tasting Korean and Japanese food I have tried, and at a great price, in a no thrills and relaxed setting. Dont be put off by the location, well worth a drive out of Cardiff.

Expensive and the amount of food is so little. The owner is Korean but she is focusing on running the place as a hotel rather than a Korean restaurant. The food is only good if you see it as hotel food.

Friendly, helpful staff. Decor is a little bland and bit of quiet music would have made it perfect. BBQ was fantastic, meat tasted incredible. Can't wait to go again and bring more friends. 🍖

I only live down the road from this place and this was my first visit, the food and service was really good. 2 people well fed with 2 drinks for £50 can’t argue with that! The lady was really helpful as we’d never eaten in this style of restaurant before, so she was happy to recommend dishes and explain things to us. Looking at the decor you could be put off but that would be your lose. Great little gem hidden away. Will definitely be eating here again!!!

Very expensive, tiny portion and food isnt that special. I'm not a big eater but still went home with hungry tummy. Save your money. I prefer go turkish, big portion, cheap and taste real good.

Worth going if your desperate for yakiniku. Not the same experience as yakiniku I have had in Japan but it is still actual yakiniku. I recommend the kimchi rice as a side. The main downside to the place is the price. For a full meal with a few drinks your looking at £50 per person. On my budget that's a bit much but will probably go back regardless when I start to miss yakiniku again.

Little hidden gem. The host is kind and welcoming and the food is wonderful. Very fresh ingredients and all hand made, it is definitely worth making the short trip from Cardiff for authentic Korean food.

Our first time eating Korean, will not be our last. Everything was piping hot and freshly cooked to order, the food comes out at a steady pace just enough time for you to eat one dish, enjoy it untill the next one arrives. Cooking your own food on the bbq is a great social way to eat the dipping sauce cut through the fattyness of the pork perfectly the steak melted in your mouth, the yum-yum chicken was blood YUMMY!!!! the Bi Pin Bop (i think thats what its called) was a revelation, it arrives in a piping hot stone bowl with its acompaniments and a raw egg yolk on top, you mix it all together and the heat in the bowl cooks the yolk, genius. If you want pretentious and poncy dont go here, if you want FANTASTIC traditional food, this is for you. If i could give this place 10 stars, i would.

Charming place, staff were lovely, and the food was incredible. We were given a loyalty card which is a great touch - sadly we won’t be able to use as frequently as we’d like, as we live 90 mins away, but we will definitely visit again when we’re in the area.

Fantastic little hidden place full of tasty dishes!

During business trip in Newport, our members wanted to have Korean food. And finally we’ve found this restaurant. It was GREAT time to have wonderful Korean dishes in UK. I had Korean-style pork vally, and several soup. Pork vally is worth to get 5 starts. For Korean-soup, maybe real Koreans think it is too sweet. But it is good try for UK people who is not familiar with spicy food. Thanks again for good dinner, If I visit Cadiff and Newport area again, will visit here again for sure. I already miss Romeo and Juliet.

This is a perfect restaurant for a REAL taste of Korean food , a really good place for Korean food lover although it might be a little expensive but it was worth it .

Loved this place to come for food, Korean BBQ but you grill your own food. Nice.

The worst restaurant I have been into in this year. The food was not fresh, the food was cooked by the receptionist mum, there was even no proper chef around. The quality is really lack of standard and the quantity is even worse. Grab a burger with you before you go coz you are gonna need it! And my stomach was pain over night since their food is not fresh at all!!!!!

Delicious Korean food and BBQ!!

Overpriced for the amount of food you get. Toilets were dirty. The manager was very rude to us, and refused to remove the service charge even after telling us it was not compulsory. Overall not a great meal out.

Very nice hotel. The breckfast and dinner are korean or japanese style. Yakiniku, grillled beaf, is most favorite dish.

Excellent small, family-run Korean & Japanese restaurant specialising in Korean Barbeque (Yakiniku). Recommend the Dol Sot Bi Bim Bap, Fawr Prawns & Miso Chicken. Resonably priced at £25 per head including drinks and 4 courses.
