Senor Ceviche in City of London, Westminster

Wonderful evening with a pleasant atmosphere We came here with a group of 9 people and had reserved in advance. Upon arrival we were immediately surprised by a nice gift: there was a Santa hat ready for everyone, which immediately set the mood! We had chosen our menu in advance, including a vegetarian option for one of our group members. When it turned out that this person would not be present, we asked if it was possible to exchange this dish. Unfortunately, this turned out not to be possible, which felt a bit strange, especially because the food had not yet been prepared at that time. Fortunately, this turned out to be no problem at all, because even the vegetarian dishes were delicious! The meat dishes and mussels we chose were also fantastic. The meat was cut at the table, which gave a nice extra experience. You have to like a more acidic cuisine, but for us it was perfect. The service was a bit chaotic at first. It seemed like not everyone knew what to do, and some little mistakes were made, like bringing one too many drinks. But given the crowds and the fact that we were with a large group, we fully understood this. All in all it was a great evening. The food, the atmosphere, and the experience made this a great experience. Definitely recommended, and we would love to come back!

The wonderful friendly staff made us feel welcomed. The passion fruit pisco sour and the chili pisco sour were perfection. Outstanding dishes were the chicherones, classic ceviche, Jerusalem artichoke ceviche and pork ribs. (I could come back daily for the passion fruit pisco sour and the chicarones.) Such a great find. We'll definitely be back.

I'm really sad to write a poor review, but we came here for cerviche and it was so disappointing! The portion was small, which I wouldn't mind if the dish was true to origin but the rainbow trout was unbelievably poor. 5 of us not impressed at all. Traditionally, it is raw fish dish marinated in citrus (lime juice) amongst other seasonings. This however, was incredibly bland. Not even a hint of any marinade, yet alone lime. If I'd wanted sashimi there are many place we'd have gone! I grabbed a lime from the cocktail bar to make up for it. Frijoles also bland. Service good, staff friendly and cocktails good.

Took my partner here for a surprise birthday meal. We hadn't been for some time and I was a bit worried things might have changed in the wake of Covid, but the food and drinks were still really delicious. We went late afternoon on a weekday so it was very quiet and service was quick and attentive.

The fusion food was good. But the classic ceviche was no classic at all. The sourness from the limes was exactly how it should be avoided. They have squeezed the limes to the extreme that the sourness from the skin also could be felt in the ceviche. What a horrible taste. I have to say that I'm a ceviche lover and I've tried many, in Peru and abroad too and this was the worst. I've also made myself ceviche many times just watching recipes online and you can realize that they mention it in every video DO NOT SQUEEZE THE LIME MUCH. I did speak to the manager about it I hope they improve this. Everything else was good. The place was busy

We show up at 8.15pm, wait 10 minutes for someone to notice us, then a waiter comes by and asks us if we have a reservation, we answer no and he asks us to wait for the room manager. Another 10 minutes pass and the manager arrives telling us that the restaurant is closing (at 8.35pm????). Let it go now, so you don't waste time unnecessarily...

Everything about are visit was excellent. We tried the very affordable tasting menu with drink pairings. Both the food and cocktails were fantastic. The staff were warm and friendly. They even had alternative food options from another restaurant when my daughter got concerned about minor food allergies. The atmosphere was fun as well. Highly recommended!

What a disappointment I was, how they stole the name of a Peruvian restaurant, I ordered pachmanca and they gave me pork ribs, to make matters worse, no one speaks Spanish, only him. Cook, I hope they rectify the name of the Peruvian restaurant, I give it one star because Google does not allow zero stars.

Managed to get a reservation on a busy Sunday about 2 hours before, which I'm glad I did as the restaurant was very busy when we arrived. Unfortunately, that meant service was a little slow. However, saying that the food was absolutely fantastic! My favourite dish was the sea bass ceviche, super limey and so fresh. My husband's was the bbq ribs and chicken. We thoroughly enjoyed the corn ribs too. We probably wouldn't order the trout, bbq aubergine, artichoke ceviche and croquettes again-nothing wrong with them but the flavours were slightly off compared to the dishes we really loved. Ordered a chocolate mousse for dessert which was super rich and great for sharing. We ordered 11 dishes for 4 people and left truly full.

Great experience, very friendly staff. We had the Super Polo, the Flat Iron Stake and the corn ribs. While very fair priced, the portions were not very big. My only regret is that I did not order more things from the menu.

A vibrant, casual restaurant. There’s a real buzz though done might find it noisy. There’s food is uncomplicated Peruvian food made with good quality ingredients giving fresh and distinct flavours.

Food: ceviche was good but small. Overall taste was authentic and delicious especially the senor ceviche. Crispy pork belly - the meat quality is high and crispy enough however the sauce doesn’t have much flavour and theres barely any sauce so it makes the pork a bit dry. Not much flavour in the meat to awake my palette. We also had the pork rib which was covered in American BBQ sauce. Unfortunately, it’s not what I was looking for because it’s not the right sauce for Peruvian cuisine. I wouldn’t say its mind blowing if you have been to a real El Boudegon. Speaking of service, we found a few of staff rude as someone didn’t sit us down. Bizarrely, a staff gave us a funny look when we turned down sparkling water, dessert, booze top-up, additional food. Honestly, she made us feel uncomfortable after we spent £80! Tbh it wasn’t our dinner and we simply didn’t like the other food options on the menu! But two of the staff were really polite and friendly. If it wasnt for them, i would had removed the tip.

The ceviche was too acid. Besides, the portions were to small and the pisco sours took a lot of time to reach our table.

We had a fantastic visit. Excellent service, warm atmosphere and delicious food. It was a lovely little trip down memory lane for me as I spent time in Peru 10 years ago.

I recommend this place 100%! it has been 4 years since I moved to England and every time I want to eat Peruvian food it has been very complicated but this time I came here I was shocked by how similar it was to Peru, this is the best example of what Nikkei food is (peruvian and japanese food mixed), the best ceviche in London and also the chicha morada is amazing!😻😻😻

Very good restaurant with excellent Peruvian cuisine. It can get loud in the restaurant, but overall it fits very well. We'd love to come back!

Average food, we ordered the tasting menu and there was no remarkable dish. Even the ceviche wasn't very tasty. The place is crammed, trying to fit as many people as they can with tiny tables extremely close to each other. Both the chicken and ribs as mains were very average, nothing especial. The place is also very noisy, so very overpriced for que quality of food and experience.

We came here with a lot of excitement and we were incredibly disappointed. The so called ceviche is only one spoon of raw fish, like a small piece of sashimi, no flavor, nothing to do with ceviche or Peruvian ceviche or anything remotely similar. We had to get several dishes in order to have a decent meal, as everything is more like small tapas even though priced and promoted as full portions. We ended up paying 124£ and leaving hungry + they charged us 25% service charge that was not advertised anywhere. It was terrible, little and bad food, nothing to do with Peruvian food, not even the one pretending to be Peruvian. Never again

Recommended by a friend and it was spot on. The Chifa Chicharrones are a must have and the Pork ribs were perfectly cooked and tasty too. Shouts to Alex and the team for their 5 star service 👊

Really great food, delicious ceviche. Catered for my allergy :) Service was prompt, Alex was great!! Also their manager was great too :) Try the blue corn drink! It's cinnamont and kinda like a cold mulled juice.

One of the best ceviches I’ve ever tried. If you’re looking for quality over quantity, this is the place. Came with my partner and we enjoyed the time at the restaurant, amazing service and nice atmosphere. For sure I’ll be back 🫡

Last week we were on holiday in London and decided to have dinner in a Peruvian restaurant. Attracted by the good reviews and proud as Peruvians to be able to try our food (even if revisited) in London, we were disappointed by the unprofessional manner of the cashier. We asked when a table for 4 people would be free (we hadn't booked) we were told that we had to wait 45 minutes, after 40 minutes we asked again and the annoyed lady told us that we had to wait another 45 minutes. Total disappointment with the way the cajera is made, I don't recommend anything in this case if the dish you receive is rude.

Wonderful food, wine and server

We had dinner there today and were impressed by the excellent food and outstanding service. The only reason I would rate it 4 stars instead of 5 is due to the small portion sizes and relatively high prices. That said, the food was absolutely delicious!

One of the best meals I’ve had out in a long time. Pisco sours were excellent. I am often underwhelmed in restaurants, as I love cooking and making cocktails at home, but this was quite special. We had the set menu for walk-in a group of 6, which was supremely tasty and very good value. Lots of variety and good amount of food. I am not a huge pudding person, but the little chocolate mousse cup was probably the best dessert I’ve ever had. Service was friendly and attentive, but not overly clingy like in some restaurants. Would definitely go back.

Very nice surprise! First Peruvian restaurant for us and it was excellent with great service. The portions are a little small though for those with a sweet tooth :)

Perfect for a date night or dinner with friends. We tried the tasting menu with cocktails, the starters were insane, cocktails were incredible, the mains lacked a bit flavour for me but my partner loved them.

We booked a table here because of the reviews and we left disappointed We had the lunch menu for two. The food overall was bland and didn’t taste peruvian at all. It was not bad but overall I won’t recommend this place if you want to try Peruvian food. I would recommend the kitchen to involve Peruvian cooks in the menu development process. Everyone was speaking Italian when we were there.

Something went wrong with the service. They literally forgot to bring 2/3 of my order. Otherwise it's a good place.

What a find this place is. They have the best Pisco Sours I’ve had outside of Latin America and their range of ceviche dishes are delicious.Thank you to the whole team for looking after us so well.

Got kicked out for having an allergy! I am grateful they were so upfront about how bad the cross contamination in the kitchen is but honestly. It’s almost 2025 and this is a high end restaurant in central london - how difficult is it to have a different pot of oil? Or a single separate stove 💔💔💔 It’s a real pity bc the atmosphere was lovely and the food looked good but I couldn’t have any of it. Anyone gluten free or with celiac, beware 😔💔

Great food although bear in mind cerviche dishes are pre made and so if you ask for food to come when it's ready, instead of all at once; the cerviche dishes come out pretty quick and then there's a wait for hot food. Otherwise very impressed with the food.

We tried the tasting menu for the first time, with a variety of small plates. Taste wise, the salmon ceviche and fish with salads were refreshing and citrusy, which I liked. However, other dishes were either overly sweet or so packed with flavours that lost their original taste. Service was poor, with most of the attention focused on a large booking. Would I go back? Not sure.

Valentina was incredible, took incredible care of me and my partner and I can't recommend coming here enough! Food was amazing and service was incredible!

Chatty was a great server and was very attentive to our needs. Food was sent at an appropriate time; we didn't feel rushed at all. I would highly recommend this Peruvian fusion restaurant.

Posto carino dietro carnaby Street ( e’in una corte interna dove ci sono tanti localini). Non ci sono tante cose in carta ma abbiamo mangiato bene ( crocchette di quinoa, pollo con varie salse, patate fritte dolci, ceviche) a prezzi contenuti. Personale gentile e veloce. Lo consiglio!

I came to try pisco sour with a friend. They were excellent, but the service from Mariana, the girl at the bar was extraordinary. She is very kind and prepares the best cocktails. 100% recommended.

As a peruvian myself whose favourite food is ceviche I found myself pretty disappointed with the taste and the portion size, it didn't have the acidity it should have, the flavour of the fish and octopus were compromised because of this same factor, and the inclusion of avocado was confusing (it shouldn't have any avocado if it's peruvian). Also it surprised me not seeing Inca Kola in the menu. Appalling overall.

The food was good even though the portion was small. Peruvian beer was also delicious. However, the poor attitude of the staff ruined our dinner. First, we ordered drinks and two dishes, but the staff pushed us to order more. And we said we would like to request more after having them. Her whole expression changed. Soon after, she pushed us to order more, and we did one more plate. It made us uncomfortable. Whilst we were still drinking, the staff came and asked whether we wanted dessert, so we said we were okay. When we replied, she told us she would give us a bill. We didn't have enough time to enjoy our meal and drinks. The staff came and gave us the bill, and there was a mistake - she added more beers than we had and never apologised for this. After the payment, she even threw our receipt on the table. We will never visit here again. It’s a shame.

Favourite Peruvian restaurant. Great atmosphere and excellent food

Comida, ceviche, costillas pegajosas, vientre de cerdo, trucha arco iris, todo genial. Sabroso, fresco con ese pequeño giro, un montón de especias, hierbas frescas... ¡perfecto! El servicio atento casual, la música que le da un ambiente, hizo feliz a toda la familia de nuevo. Volveré el año que viene.

I am Peruvian so this review of Señor Ceviche may seem -justifiably so- biased. I promise it is not. The first thing I'll say is that if you think you'll find "typical" food at Señor Ceviche, you're going to be disappointed. But don't get me wrong. When a cuisine is as broad and rich as that of Peru, "típico" is an understatement. There are as many variants as there are restaurants in Peru, some old and some new, and much unresolved discussion about which version is the "right" one. And as is obvious, the freedom with which locals execute the recipes gives results that are sometimes successful and sometimes not so much. Señor Ceviche is among the first, a great merit considering how difficult it is to get the right ingredients so far away from Peru. I loved the dishes I tried from the Señor Ceviche menu. They are not "typical", but they are Peruvian with their own personality and identity, very well achieved. And the staff is a plus: warm, fast, smiling. The overall result is 5 stars. I'll be back next time I'm in London.

Everything we had from the set menu was delicious, the cocktail pairing complimented the food very well. From Lima with love!!

My first visit at Señor Ceviche and probably not my last. Amazing food and drinks. My friends and I ordered the tasting menu which offered a bit of everything and for £34 I thought it was great value for money. Everything tasted delicious. Their chilli Pisco Sour cocktail was also very good. Overall a great night out. Will definitely come back.

Overpriced food and not good service. We were sat next to an open window with cold weather outside, I closed the window and shortly after it was open again. I had to ask for them to close it. They added 12.5% service charge to the bill to already pricey items. The manager told me she wouldn’t serve me food due to food allergy although I didn’t order food related to my allergy. Was an awkward experience.

Yesterday I tried the ceviche and the other dishes at the restaurant and they seemed good to me. They have a very good base from Peru and some minimal touches that they have added to the food, but as a Peruvian and Lima native and with grandparents from Callao, I have not eaten a more authentic ceviche than yesterday's. Everything is exact, with a very clean flavor, like at home (that is, without milk). The tiradito, the chicken and the quinoa were equally spectacular. For me, I was at home yesterday and it gave me "that pleasure" and finding this place, these magicians who cooked yesterday, this food "Es lo que es " and as we say in Peru "lo justo", the waiters are very good, the waitress is very kind, very cordial and attentive. We will return.

One star for the service and one star for the atmosphere. As for the food, disappointing and overpriced for what it is. We've been here before years ago and it was fab. Tonight it was decidedly average. Pork belly dry. Ceviche flavours not balanced - overwhelmed by the crisps and onions. Pork ribs arrived cold and flavour was not special. Spinach salad had no truffle flavour and also something very hard that nearly broke a tooth! Sweet potato fries were good but a small portion. Service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was good. Won't be back though.

I recently dined at this restaurant for the first time and I must say, it was a delightful experience from start to finish! Firstly, the location was fantastic. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted with a warm welcome from the team. The starters were absolutely amazing; it was a perfect blend of flavors and textures that left us eager for more. Each bite was a delight The main course, while good, didn't quite reach the same heights as the starter. It was enjoyable, but I felt it lacked the spark that made the beginning of the meal so memorable. Overall, I highly recommend this place
