Comes across as a craft beer pub more than a classic english. Lots of taps. A little tricky to make out what they have, and when busy you don’t get a lot of time with the staff to discuss options. Still a good vibe to it and fairly easy to find a spot to stand at least.

no frills but a good selection of beers and ales.. However, we collected our drinks from the bar but that was still suitable enough to be charged a ‘discretionary service charge without any agreement.. They do this as standard so make sure you check your bill before paying it.. Slightly classless and hopefully once everyone is aware of this, they might get shamed into scrapping this unethical practice.

We were just in the area and just goggled craft beer and found this place. What a surprise. Much better than the pubs in the area. Decent range of beers if not outstanding. No sour beers on for example. But about 10 decent beers including 4 cask. Ok prices for area. Loved the pictures on the wall as my wife is Canadian so seeing the pelt trappers was fun. Nothing fancy in terms of décor but liked its simplicity. Would give it a 5 star if it had a slightly better range of beers but maybe we were just unlucky as no Hammerton on..

The delicious pizzas on the menu were a delightful surprise, offering a perfect complement to the diverse drink options. However, the limited seating was a slight drawback, making it challenging to secure a table during peak hours. Despite this, the vibrant atmosphere and exceptional offerings make it a must-visit for beer and pizza enthusiasts willing to savor a cozy experience.

I was in London visiting an exhibition at The Carpenters Hall; it concluded at 4:00pm leaving 3.5 hours before our train departed St. Pancras and my friend suggested we spend the time at The Pelt Trader. What a splendid idea! Not too busy at 4;45pm and we found a table to enjoy some good beer and a delicious large Meaty Pizza (think dustbin lid!). A very enjoyable experience good food, good beer, good service - what's not to like?!

Exceptional Pizza, sometimes quite a long wait which is bad at lunchtime, no problem in the evenings. Usually a good beer selection too. The place is pretty noisy and doesn't have much in the way of atmosphere but the pizza is so far above zizzi, PExpress etc that it doesn't really matter.

Not a bad place to go for an ale after work in the City. The bar (beneath Cannon Street Station) is cavernous and gloomy. But the compensation is the large selection of beers set at a decent price for the area. The beers do rotate although many are often from the same brewers (Harveys, Adnams, Burning Sky, Hammerton). Off the beaten track and preferable to many of the other pubs in the square mile.

I visited with a party of ~20 people and saw 3 bartenders serving a crowd of at least a hundred, resulting in very long waits at the bar. Throughout the night, the bartenders' attitude struck me as exceptionally rude. I was first asked for my order, then shouted at to "wait" as the bartender finished up another task. Both I and another guest were (independently of each other) lectured on the need to say "please" when ordering beer, despite our demeanor being polite. All told, there were quite a few wtf moments. Having lived in London for 5 years, this is the first time I feel the need to go out of my way to write a bad review. Great pizza though.

The Pelt is a great little place, it sells massive thin pizza's which are great. They don't sell mainstream drinks therefore you can get some good beers, I definitely recommend the Black Lager. (Its like a normal lager but with a molasses type taste to it. Avoid the dried sausages on the bar as they are expensive for nothing really.

Close to Cannon Street Station and only about 400 metres from The Monument. Small bar with a few tables in a very basic setting. Range of excellently well kept real ales (at very reasonable prices) and craft beers. The menu is 12” or 18” pizzas. The staff were pleasant and also gave info on likely time for delivery to table. The very good pizzas came early and were delicious. I suspect this a marmite establishment. You either love it ( particularly beer drinkers) or hate it. I loved it and now I have found it will be visited again very soon.

I reviewed this bar before and have since been in many times. I went in to wait for a friend and to have a quick pint. I chose a Pale ale from Burning Sky which I really enjoyed while watching people tucking into the huge 18" pizzas. Then I noticed the Imperial Stout from Dark Star, 10.5abv sold in 1/3 pint for £3. I had to go for it. Wow talk about a full bodied rich stout. Get in there quick I'm sure it won't be around long.

It's in an arch under Cannon Street station and the décor is industrial minimalist with few tables, but with beer as good as this, nobody seems to mind. Tea time sees a crowd drinking on the pavement outside as well as packing the inside. There is a fine selection of cask and keg beers, and for London the prices are very reasonable. The service was efficient and friendly. All in all, an excellent pub.

Recomiendo encarecidamente.

Nice place just behind Cannon Street station. We just had a few beers here but they do pizzas which looked decent. It really specialises in real ales, many from small breweries in London and some craft continental lagers. Not the sort of place if you tipple is mass produced rubbish. The answer is quite a bit, but nothing to worry about here! The pizzas are generally very good and pretty consistent. I don't think I've had a bad pint here and find the staff are always on hand to make pretty confident recommendations. Service is friendly and attentive, the places does get very busy though so bare that in mind when planning lunch. Wed/Thurs are much better than Friday for example if you want to get in & out.

I've gotten off the train at Cannon Street many times with friends to go on a beer expedition around The City but never spotted this pub. I only found it in the CAMRA guide to best beer, which tells you something. It's actually in an arch past the tube entrance and under the main station. Three of us arrived about 3pm on a Friday so it wasn't too busy. There were six real ales on taps on the bar wall, unusually they use an air compressor to pump the beers up and it works really well. There were also about a dozen other taps for keg craft beers and lagers. We ended up having two different ales each and shared a very good pizza all at very reasonable prices. Great overall experience and I'll definitely find The Pelt again.

Theres an ever changing selection of ales here and always at reasonable prices. Excellent for a lunchtime pint - if it's a nice day you'll find more people stood outside than actually in the place - probably partly to do with the poor acoustics, but with friendly barstaff who actually seem to understand beer, that is a minor quibble.

Pelt Traders is a very nice alternative to the usual London bar/pub scene, and really a bit quirky - in a good way!The only food on offer is pizza, but these are among the very best pizzas I have ever had. They are exceptionally crispy and flavoursome. There is a good range of craft beers at very reasonable prices and an interesting choice of music in the background - predominately Dylan and Jesus and Mary Chain at our last lunchtime visit. Loud enough to be heard, but not so much as to be obtrusive.A combination of there being few other customers and the rather cavernous high ceiling created a rather soulless atmosphere but the staff were friendly and we ended up spending more time there, and drinking more beer, than we had originally intended! If you like beer and pizza, this is the place for you!

Usually manage to get a seat too - which is a treat. The only real downside are the acoustics, which are awful - comes of being built into an un-walled railway arch. I've just come back from what should have been a quick work lunch. We picked the Pelt Trader because of beer and pizza which we'd expected to be quick. An hour after ordering, and still with no pizzas we were told by the bar staff that they only have one chef and therefore our expectations were unrealistic. If we weren't happy, we can go and get food elsewhere. When they did arrive, the pizzas were great, but a 1.5h wait and incredibly rude staff, it's definitely one to avoid going to again. Vote with your feet folks, there's some stunning places in the area.
