Great fish and chips in the restaurant . nice and hot… hadn’t long to wait. Really good Value for £16 for 2 of us. Marred by the fact that when we gave a £20 .. the assistant casually asked us if we’d like the change!! We’re in our 70’s and thought that was a bit much. We gave a tip… but not 20%!!

Always spot on, friendly efficient service, best fish & chips for miles! Worth the journey 👍

(26 July) The chips were peely-wally - and we had to re-do them in the air fryer to make them edible. What's the point of take-away when you end up cooking yourself. See pics. These chips do not look like the chips on the website pictures! Disappointing but not the first time.

£9 almost for cheesy chips and gravy !!!! Day light robbery if you ask me I couldn’t believe it. Although the lads working at lunch time were a good bunch of young lads I couldn’t help but notice the older manager being very demanding to the lads, I felt like telling him to shut up the way he spoke to them. Wasn’t good to see, deffo won’t be back.

Dry chicken burger got told if you want mayo it’s 50p for a bit on the burger £4 for a frozen looking burger other chip shops in area £3.50 for burger cheese and salad and mayo and the quality of the burger is way better

Food very reasonably priced, the peas were homemade by the owner. They were absolutely delicious!. I would go just for the peas. I would definitely recommend anyone to try this takeaway!. Thank you!.

Got charged £20.75 for 2 fish 1 chips and1 peas, scandalous, it appears, the staff automatically give you LARGE portions without your knowledge, you should ask your customers if they wish to go large, it's always been pricey, but they've just got too greedy, maybe train your staff the right way round, normal portions unless stated otherwise,

1st and last time here. Went for the £8 deal where you get a mini fish, regular chips and a large side. Great deal apart from the the portion being far too big on the chips and they were under cooked. Disappointed to say the least, your one job is to cook chips. I was really looking forward to these. But the straw that broke the camels back; NO pickled eggs. Devastated is an understatement.

I have always been a big fan of seniors and my favourite shop has always been Normoss . I have had many takeaways and also eaten in the restaurant many times over the years and always been happy . On wed 5/6/24 I took my friend for lunch and we both had a mini meal , The fish was good as we asked for it lightly battered but the chips were terrible they were chewy had not been peeled properly and we’re going black at the ends they definitely were not fresh and shouldn’t have even been put on the plate .i am hoping that this is a blip and when my friend brings her family next month for her birthday tea it will be back to its best .

Ordered 2 lots of large fish and chips with salt and vinegar to share and none of us could taste the vinegar, a real let down and was too far/late to go back. Because of this, it also felt really overpriced. Have had better in the past but not been for a couple of years.

Well up to the usual high Standard of Seniors. We were able to park a few yards along the street at the side of the shop, which was good for our friend who has limited mobility. Staff were all very cheerful, friendly and helpful. Heartily recommended.

I ordered 2 meat potato pies yesterday the potatoes were hard my friend said the same could not chew it very disappointed the chips were hard too only good thing about it was the hot gravy and the nice person that delivered it

We’re usually regulars at Poulton but went to Normoss as we were passing. Glad we did! Excellent food, served as requested and speedily. Thanks also to Emma who is the exemplar of great customer service.

The food, service, and atmosphere is always spot on. It is a terrific chippy.

Become a regular Thursday night dinner. Have a pie deal of the menu which is very reasonable. Great chips and curry sauce, although pies are not my favourite brand still ok. Staff are very friendly and offer great service. Although having a chippy tea is not cheap now it is well worth it at seniors

Overpriced half cooked pile of potato mush made worse by the cheap watery condiment they are trying to pass off as vinegar... Save your money... Eat somewhere else

This is the original shop of the family run Seniors chain, we've been using it for 20 odd years and their service and quality are consistently excellent. I can't think of anywhere better, anywhere in the country. Their other local shops I've frequented are equally good.

Visited in January. Party of ten. Friendly staff. Waitress was great. Well organised. Polite. Food was delicious.

I thoroughly enjoyed the fish combo but the star of the show is Emma the store manager who makes you feel at home and even remembers what you had last time!

This is our closest and local Seniors and after ordering food from here tonight. We will not be using Seniors again. We're not sure what happened to Seniors because it used to be good and the last couple times have been a real let down. Especially tonight. Chips were cold, soggy and clearly NOT cooked long enough. The fish was swimming in grease making the batter soft and inedible. Peas were cold. The only good thing I can say about this delivery was that they at least had cold cans of coke and the lady who delivered it was very polite. Other than that...disappointing. So won't be using Seniors again unless something drastic happens to make the food better. What a waste of money as at least 80% of it went straight in the bin.

I stand by it, Seniors is one of the finest places for fish and chips in the entire Fylde area. The menu is varied, the food is delectable (especially the fish combo), the portions are very generous and the waiting time is minimal. The service at the Normoss branch is nothing short of sublime, I would particularly recognise Emma for her larger than life personality and her professional and assiduous attitude. I'm a repeat customer and I can say without doubt, I've never once had a bad experience at this branch (nor any other I've visited). Will certainly keep coming to Seniors and I highly recommend to both residents and visitors.

Got a fish on a barm super fresh fish and barm lovely light and crispy batter and the guys in there are awesome will definitely be visiting again when passing threw the area

Fish had been lying in the warming cabinet for a long time , l did notice the fish fryer say something to the trainee and l assume he was telling him to get rid of that particular piece of fish (my assumption was realised when l got home and unwrapped our meal) that piece of fish was hard and inedible. Have used Lytham,Poulton andNormoss regularly at least once a week and l regret to inform your standards have drastically dropped,which ,is a shame. Maintaining excellence is.difficult, It is not only us that are now going elsewhere ,we are aware of numerous others.

As a couple we have eaten at Seniors for many years, even before it was Seniors. To be fair we don’t every week but still consider ourselves local loyal customers. We were quite taken aback this evening at the cost, the price has appeared to increase significantly to our expectations. No meal deals on regular fish chips peas etc as we feel sure they have always done. They do one deal to be fair it is a very small fish with small chips.. something I remember they used to offer pensioners at lunchtime. Regarding the fish it was good , but not very big , the chips were small portioned. They do advertise unlimited refills of tea and chips ? I cannot imagine what customer is being targeted with this offer but it does not appeal to us, we feel we have overpaid for what we have eaten to accommodate this eat as many chips as you can offer… we ate at 6:30pm…prime time and we’re at one point sat on our own , there was a time when the restaurant was a busy place. Unfortunately we will eat elsewhere on the experience we have had.

My 10 year old son and I regularly go and sit in the restaurant for our dinner. Perhaps once a fortnight. Always clean, polite staff. Seems a fast staff turnover though! We always almost clear out plates and there is wine/beer available if you are in walking distance, we enjoy it. Fish and chips isn't as cheap anymore either but the the mini haddock meal is enough for me £7 ! X

Food arrived quick, probably because it wasn't cooked that well. Bunged in the bin. Keep the money for your gas bill, just fry the food a bit longer in future.

Terrible customer service. Arrived earlier this evening and patiently waited for my order to be taken and I could see there was a large order on. Another customer came in behind me and ordered fish. A second customer came in and ordered sides which I didn't have a problem with as it was quick to deal with. At this point I had been waiting 10 minutes and the lad at behind the counter decided to take another customers order.

Worst fish and chips I've ever had. Order was incorrect two peas instead of peas and curry ,one fish was dried up think it had been there since lunch time ,chips were soggy and cold. Will not be returning. I was the only person in the take out wonder why!

Too hit & miss. One week great fish & chips - next week poor batter on fish, anaemic chips, with lots of eyes in spuds. Some of the young lads on the counter need some instruction in customer service. Roll the dice and see what you get.

Went to seniors last night about 1930. Ordered lightly battered well done haddock, chips & spicy curry. The chips were old & burnt, the fish was swimming in its own grease and was definitely not lightly battered or well done & the curry sauce was fruity not spicy. No opportunity to take the food back as it was closing as I left. Tried to call to complain, no answer. Unable to eat the food it went in the bin. This is a sad example of a previously good chippy going down the pan. Expensive, poor quality, greasy. AVOID THIS PLACE

Not the best, peas had an odd taste, fish more batter than fish and chips not good. Seniors definitely gone downhill over the years.

We travel from stockport regularly to have lunch at senior's having used the chippy..! Not senior's at the time) that's stood on the same site since we used to caravan at Newton Hall on holiday since 1965, the food is delicious the staff a really friendly

Drove from Morecambe on Tuesday evening to pick up the fish deal which, living in Staining we have had before. Could not have been more disappointed with everything but the fish!! Fish deal ordered with a Jumbo sausage was ordered. Order taken but the fish we were about to get was taken for a phone in order had to wait for more fish to be cooked? Staff seemed not to get on with each other with lots of snapping going on. Took our meal home to be horrified with a huge box of chips which could only have been the end of trading 7.45pm scrapes. Very small ends of potato, we had about 15ish proper chips the rest the dog didn't want. Top it all of no sausage!!!! Very disappointed and will probable not use again!!

Enjoy have my lunch from here always fresh and tasty.

What a welcoming place this is. My family go every Friday evening. I love fish and chips and this place does not disappoint. Brilliant Staff and Brilliant food.

Sorry but average. Fish had no real flavour. Haddock and Cod..chips were dry..local like it but....

Me and my Dad stopped by on the way back home and the food was wonderful. “Best fish I’ve ever had” he says 😁. Staff who served us were very friendly and service was efficient.

Very disappointing potion of chips. Greasy, all stuck together and not even hot. Stopped giving Seniors my custom years ago but thought I would give it another try.......mistake. Ate about 4 chips and binned the rest.

Takeaway delivered 49 minutes late Fish and chips cold and greasy. Chips bitty and shrivelled. Disgusting inedible. I sent email to complain and asked for my money back Absolutely no reply despite 2 reminders Dreadful customer service dreadful meal Standards. Have decidedly slipped enormously. No one seems to care Obviously others have the same opinion. Seniors used to be so good. What a shame And what a waste of my hard earned money. In the bin !!!

Lovely meal very good service as usual

I have used this restaurant for nearly 10 years, about 5 months ago we went in paid 16 quid for two cod and chips, they were disgusting, swimming in fat, the chips were small bitty pieces and were cold, the fish had a batter on it that was like cake batter and this too was swimming in grease. I left a review on Google and was contacted by Paula, who told me that she was going to address the situation, we visited a further 5 times in 5 months, 4 of those times the meal was good, but the quality was slipping. I realised that costs have gone up with the rise in inflation, but the quality has dropped again to the level it was 5 months ago. I contacted Paula, and told her we were served by an unsupervised trainee, who served the chips, waited for the fish, as soo as it was cooked the experienced people ( a director and shop manager) left him to it, the chips were cold small an bitty (Polly says they are trialling new potatoes, probably cheaper ones, that were small and went mushy), the fish was put on top of the chips, without waiting for it to drain, I believe it was under cooked because it was slimy. So the price has gone up the quality has gone down. When we got it home it looked so bad that my wife said we should not eat it because she felt it would make us sick, so I called the shop where a young lad just said "Sorry I cant help you" I asked to speak to someone else and was told no one was available, even though the director and Shop manager were supposed to be in the shop. We the had to spend another 20 quid on a Chinese. If you are a fan of food poisoning or undercooked food then use this shop, if not I suggest that you find somewhere else, because they cannot keep a consistent quality or standard. they don't care if they lose customers either. I got an email from Paula saying that I was served by a trainee, the potatoes were being trialled, and she cannot also understand how quick everything went cold. Sorry this is just not good enough.

I am sorry to say that my experience today was dreadful. My family went in and sat down. A couple that came in after us were served before us. We finally got to order our food and when it came to us the chips and mushy peas were like warm at best. Usually a good experience in this restaurant but not today.

Ordered food for delivery online. The website doesn’t indicate how long it will take until you have paid. It indicated 1 hour. After one hour I rang to ask about the whereabouts of the food. I rang three times and was hung up on twice. On the third attempt I was told that it had just been sent ou which was immediately changed to “Oh no, it’s just going out”. 20 minutes later I rang to ask where it was as the chippy closed five minutes later at 8pm. I was told it was on its way which meant that it actually wasn’t “just going out “. When it finally arrived, one side portion was missing but we can’t be bothered chasing it up so we’ll just order from somewhere else next time.

My fish was still alive, it was flapping around my chips, the vinegar started flying everywhere - it was very chaotic but good thing I like raw meat just please could you tell me in advance in my next delivery

Just ordered fish and chips in a tray to take out as a quick something easy to eat, before heading on to the motorway. Absolute mistake! They are basically inedible. Fish batter so undercooked fish can only be described at best as slimy. Chps barely blanched inedible. Call to Normoss, young man said 'oh sorry '. Seniors, on this occasion a massive fail. Your fryer needs to cook the produce properly

Wow - fab food, quick and perfectly cooked

I hadn't been to Seniors for over ten years after moving areas and decided to take my son back to experience it. Still great fish and chips, lovely crispy cod - tasted very fresh indeed and wasn't tough or overcooked. Great chips and well seasoned mushy peas. I wish I lived closer but will have to satisfy myself with visits when I'm back in Blackpool!

Well what can I say the chips were absolutely rubbish. Very hard and dry and massively over priced and if your hungry you will still be hungry as the portions are tiny. I will never go there again. Avoid if you want quality food that fills you up at an actual real price

Inflated prices. Not value for money. Chips were like cardboard too. Honestly there are some local chippies in the area I'd rather travel too. This place has become greedy in my opinion and they're still riding off the back of an award they recieved many years ago. Not happy

Chips are lush so is the gravy but as for the pies and puddings I've had 1 of each on different occasions and both supposed of beeb steak and they ain't they are steak and onion which the gravy is rank in them. Why say they are steak on the menu when they clearly ain't. Now I've had Holland pies for yours so can tell the difference straight off especially with the pudding as they are my all time favourite. As I've tried this place a few times now I won't be returning until they do the real hollands steak pies/puddings and NOT steak and onion running. So 2 stars as its alls I ever have in a chippy and only enjoy the chips and gravy

Love all the seniors restraunts, cheap foods and amazing fish. Especially the halibut amazing and meaty!

Good chippy, national award winning a few years ago, and the standard is still good. Good quality fish, pies, sausages, etc, with the usual selection of chips, mushy peas, gravy, curry sauce. Portion sizes are good so you won't be hungry afterwards unless you have a huge appetite. Popula, so at busy times there can be a fair queue but they get through the orders pretty quickly. You can also order ahead for pickup and you can eat in if you want. Not a big eating in area so the tables and chairs are fairly close and not completely comfortable if you're on the larger size! This is my 'go to' chippy that I've been going to for many years so that's probably the best advert I can give for it!

We travelled 50 miles to go here and loved it. A family of 4 of us visited. We picked this restaurant as we have been to a different Seniors before and loved it and this one provided gluten-free options (Mon, Tues and Weds) Lovely manager looked after us and our kids.

Been coming here for many years & never disappointed. Food is always spot on & the staff are great. Good sized portions (always stuffed!) never any issues. Best chippy in Blackpool!

Just spent £16 on two cod and chips. The chips looked like the leftovers, they were all small bitty chips. The cod had been cooked too quick as the batter was not cooked properly, looking more like undercooked cake batter. The cod was not drained before serving, because it was running in oil. The meal was luke warm. Personally I am disgusted over the last two years, the standard and quality has dropped. I have Ben a customer for over 10 years, but won't use them again. UPDATE: I have since been in contact with the manager, and while they were not happy with my review we have worked together to rectify the issue. I have used them since and the quality was back up there.

Service is atrocious serving staff flirting with each other, and they are more interested in getting orders ready for Uber Eats than for people waiting in the shop. The queue was out the door and they still focus on telephone orders. Also they got my order wrong, ordered 2 large cod and ships and charged me accordingly, when we got home they were clearly very small fish and 2 very small portions of chips. I rang 3 times but no answer, I left messages along with my telephone number, this was nearly 3 weeks ago and they haven't the decency to return my call. I have vented my disgust to friends in Staining and at the stables, most have said they won't be using them, I won't be going back, Cottage Chippy in future for me. I have been waiting for this app to flag this chippy so I could vent my anger, I very rarely complain, but this place takes the proverbial..... do yourselves a favour, go somewhere else....

Always good fish and chips from Seniors.

I've persevered with this chippy a few times now but unfortunately the fish and chips have been, I'm sorry to report, only ever poor at best. Last Friday I ordered 2 lots of fish and chip. The fish are always cooked fresh so you'd expect a nice crispy end result but ,alas, all I got was a greasy stodgy piece of cod piled on top of a scoop of half cold stodgy chips. Basically, it was a poor showing and I won't be going to any Seniors chippy ever again.

I’ve been a customer of Seniors in Normoss from being a tot, going to get fish and chips with my grandma right through to now having my own family and enjoying a chippy tea. Ignore the reviews about fish batter not being to taste or chips being underdone/overdone, it’s a freshly cooked product and everyone has personal preferences. If you let them know how you like your food they’ll try to get it just right, and in the last +30 years their consistency has been spot on. Since Alastair took over they’ve made Seniors a brand, brining in personality to how they do what they do, good workplace culture, and all while still being true to serving great fish and chips. Lastly, in my day job I run a marketing agency and a few years back I needed traditional fish and chip suppers proving to over 200 guests at an event with no kitchen areas. Seniors stepped up and got hot, tasty food out to every guest. Couldn’t recommend enough.
