Decent cod and chips but not the best I've ever had. The vanilla milkshake was really good though and the waiting staff were excellent.

Try the fish combo it was delicious

Standard decreases with every visit. Fish is always good here but lst few times the chips have increasingly been undercooked. Tonight's can only be described as mush, think they were dropped in and lifted back out. Almost like they were par cooked to be finnished off later. No excuses that they were busy - at the end of the day any chippy worth their salt (excuse the pun) should be capable of dealing with the tea time rush

A great fish and chip shop! Excellent food cooked just the way you Want it. The staff are all marvellous always giving a warm welcome and looking so well after us. I’ve seen their kindness to us and all customers!

Fantastic place to eat all meals freshly made, very friendly staff and a nice family atmosphere. The deserts are lovely especially the sundaes. Love eating at Senior's Thornton.

Visited yesterday for our fortnightly lunch and it never disappoints the meal deal is amazing value good size succulent fish good potato chips choice of sides fresh slice of bread with pat of butter no smear of marg here and a hot drink of choice all for £8 all the servers are lovely so warm and friendly good parking outside can't go wrong there are other seniors establishments on the fylde this one is the best if you are on holiday no transport no 14 bus get off at marsh mill .you will not be disappointed

Great chippy. Went for takeaway, plenty of staff serving, requested lightly battered, staff friendly and smooth service. Good amount of food

£4 for chips is horrendously expensive

The food was disgusting. The chips were uncooked, pale and tasted sweet. The fish was greasy, batter wasn’t crispy and it was tasteless. The mushy peas were also tasteless. The burgers were over cooked and crunchy. All in all, it was horrible and most of it went into the bin. Won’t be ordering from here again.

I paid £14.70 for a large cod , chips and curry .., I received 2 completely tasteless thin bits of fish in soggy batter, ( 2 skinny bits are not a large fish and I wasn’t informed of this ), luke warm chips and sauce I keep hoping it will improve but it never does . Will never go to Seniors ; complete waste of money

Best fish and chips anywhere in England. The staff the restaurant are all beautiful. We went there was 14 of us on are anunual Blackpool run and I said if we are going for fish and chips it's got to be Seniors fish and chips in Thornton and we did so thank you Seinors for a wonderful tea today 12 people who were there with us have never been before and said 100% be back for more and the food was to die for in a food way. 👍😊🥰

Got some chips and gravy for my lad, £4.75 for a regular portion. Ridiculous price! Us locals should not be paying such money, and have discount. Chips are not great either.

Just ditto on my last review food so fresh I had to wait to eat the first bite too hot the fruity curried sauce a first for me but wish I could have had a doggy carton to bring some home. me and my friend had been wanting to go to the chip shop for our tea after work and we arrived when the shop had an hour until closing. had seen someone walk out with food a minute before we walked in so knew that they were still serving. we walked in and nobody was there so we went to order our food but got greeted with glaring looks from all seemingly underage employees. there was about 6 of them working in the kitchen yet not one of them came to ask for our order. we stayed waiting for half an hour with them only glaring, not asking out order nor telling us they weren’t serving food for whatever reason. i think this service was appalling and they ought to reconsider who they are hiring.

Visited today for a birthday celebration with a pre-booked table and staff were so accommodating and lovely and made sure we had everything we needed, they even popped up a few banners for us and left a birthday card on the table. The food was lovely and was served very quickly too! We have been regular customers at the takeaway before but it was a very nice atmosphere eating in too, would definitely recommend!! :)

Been a regular in the restaurant part of the place for a while now. Always great food. Services is good - a little slow sometimes in clearing and attention to customer needs at times. I usually put that down to them being busy, which they normally are. Doesn’t stop me from going there cause it’s so good 👍🏻😊

We had a take away whilst visiting our daughter and her partner who live in the area. We had fish, sausage, steak pudding and chicken goujons, with gravy and peas, all four of us were very impressed with the quality of the food so would definitely recommend and will definitely be returning 👍

Called in for the Special on a Wednesday evening, it was busy but the staff were really efficient and the food came quickly, as always it was freshly cooked, well presented and exceptionally good value for money.

I love seniors fish chips and staff great and places great been thornton and poulton. My only little gripe is i spent 24pound and yet we had to pay 50p for tartare sauce! We had meals then ice cream. My daughter had an extra drink. Just felt petty to charge for tartare sauce usually provided with fish chips.

Everything was satisfactory. Tasted lovely and cooked to my liking.

8 of us for evening chippy all local. All had perfect meal i had asked for little batter on fish and that is what I got . We all went for special cod/haddock chips peas/curry/gravy white/brown bread proper lurpak Tea/ coffee for the princely sum of £7.00. I could not get through mine but most did. We were served with so much politeness i must admit has a glass of wine with mine but also at £4.50 Good value. The ice cream desert on of our party bought a large tub to take home (no contest locally made yummy) old saying cheap as chips as was the ice cream . Overall brilliant night Good simple food thank you

the spicy curry sauce was not up to scratch it was tasteless and runny and chips cold .

Had a large haddock well done with chips and peas All came piping hot and the fish was crispy and perfect and the chips and peas spot on. I’ve always visited but got a takeaway delivered and will have this again!

Just had the worst fish and chips since living in Thornton , seniors has always been hi quality food but tonight I had fish and chips , the batter was wet on the inside and pale , made the fish wet and was not hot, same with the chips they were dry and Luke warm when home , I am a local customer and suggest the owners who are nice chaps get a grip of their staff and improve the standards back to where they used to be many a few years ago

Last two sets of discounts have disappeared without being accessed and the chips were very dry tonight

Usually excellent delivery, but over 45 minutes late last night, and food arrived 2 hours after ordering. Was told would get free ice-cream as an apology but never materialised either. Would buy from again as food is excellent but not if a repeat of this

Went lunchtime Saturday to Bispham shop,wife wanted just a fish and peas as not a big eater but told I could only order a meal deal which I didn’t want.I was going to order6 meals but walked out and told the manager to forget if if I couldn’t have what I require..Terrible attitude.

I actually used the delivery service in a last minute panic and not long before they were due to close but the lady I spoke to on the phone could not have been more helpful, the customer service was beyond excellent. All 14 meals arrived promptly and all agreed it was delicious. I could not recommend them highly enough.

absolutely rubbish!! Staff didn't listen to the order ended up with multiples of everything at a cost!!! a simple few chips and a small fish turned into a 17quid nightmare. Gravy was cold and runny put me off big time. How can a small fish and chips be over 9 quid.

Late delivery, when we finally recieved it the food was soggy from the condensation from the plastic bag it had been sat in. Worst 24 pound ever spent will not order again

We were a coach party of thirty people visiting Blackpool illuminations. Unfortunately, we were held up in some horrendous traffic congestion. We communicated with the excellent Manager Lindsay and they remained open to ensure we all had a hot meal. The food was exceptional and the staff provided outstanding service before we continued with our journey. I would recommend Seniors with the utmost confidence.

Always choose the mini meal deal when I visit and enjoy it every time. Great food and service!

Chips were soggy and wasn't very many. The paper it's wrapped in was all greasy and soggy like it had been in the bag quite a long time. Paid £23 for two sausage and chips and a medium chips to get rubbish food.

Chips were stone cold, and a large proportion of them still had skins on. Cod is always a little dark , can live with that ,haddock is usually delicious but tonight was black and slimy as cod mushy peas are never really mushy only upside is the gravy lol. As regards to being cold we live less than a half mile away, only order from here because in Thornton its the best of a bad bunch.

These peeps are amazing. After me messing up the order due to a bad day with a family bereavement, not only did they send one of their own staff with the delivery, but also some millionaire cake. How kind and thoughtful can you get. Thank you so much to the team Best ever. Xxx

Pictures diseptive. Fish thin,dry and overcooked. Peas dry and lots of bits of hard potato with chips. We ate in and the staff started to sweep up then sprayed cleaning fluid liberally over the counter and units although it wasn't last minute before closing. One of us had to go outside for fresh air. All in all a disappointing visit. The worst ever Seniors. We were not charged so an obvious admission of poor quality and service.

Delicious food and friendly service. Great value meal deals and a great chance to try a variety of different fish. The gold standard for fish and chips, and still feels like a treat even 30 years after I used to come as child.

I live in Bolton. Every time I go to my sister's in Thornton cleveleys we go in seniors. It absolutely gorgeous the food is nice and hot all freshly made . The staff are all lovely and very pleasant.we have the small fish deal and it's more than enough.would recommend this place to anybody you won't be disappointed xx
